I visited Campbell Clinic in September due to severe, radiating hip pain. I initially saw a physician assistant who did not listen to my concerns or my long-standing history of low back pain. Despite my explanation, he diagnosed me with a hip infection and prescribed a 7-day course of high-dose steroids. I had to travel to Montana for a wedding shortly after and hoped the medication would provide relief, but it did not. When I returned 10 days later, I saw Dr. Brandon and explained that my symptoms had not improved. Once again, I emphasized my history of low back pain. I was given another 10 days of pain medication and told to return for a hip injection. During the hip injection appointment, Dr. Gilbert entered the room, administered the injection, and provided no explanation of the procedure or any post-injection instructions. His bedside manner was among the worst I have encountered, both as a patient and as someone with over 20 years of experience in healthcare leadership. I had to initiate all questions, and his only response was, "Follow up with Dr. Brandon--I'm just here to give the shot." The injection provided no relief. I ultimately sought care at a private physical therapy practice, where I was properly evaluated and diagnosed with a compressed nerve in my lower back radiating into my hip. After eight weeks of physical therapy, my pain was completely resolved. I contacted Campbell Clinic to share my experience, explaining that I endured unnecessary pain, medications, and procedures due to a misdiagnosis and a failure to listen to my concerns. I was told my feedback would be shared with the providers. Despite this, I later began receiving bills for my visits. While my insurance had covered nearly everything, I contacted the clinic to request that the remaining $35 balance be written off given the circumstances. After four months of repeated calls and unreturned messages, a manager finally contacted me and stated that the physicians refused to write off the balance because they had "treated" me. I was shocked and deeply disappointed. This experience made it clear that patient concerns and quality of care take a back seat to billing and volume. I felt rushed, unheard, and treated like a number rather than a patient. If you are looking for a practice where you are listened to and where the root cause of your pain is addressed, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This is a huge medical practice with two sizable buildings on their Germantown campus. I had a 6 PM appointment; I walked into a waiting area larger than some airport lounges. But patients were called back on a regular basis for height/weight checks and, then, eventually were called back to see the physicians, if they had appointments. I saw Tyler Brinton, MD, for my issue. He must have been exhausted by 6 PM, but I found him in good spirits, concerned about my issue and responsive to questions. He had looked at the x-rays before examining me which seemed logical and a good use of my and his time. I walked out with a diagnosis and a treatment plan. Even after 7 PM, he was not rushed with me, a non-surgical candidate, who is not going to add much to the company's coffer. Their parking lot is pitch dark. In crime-ridden Memphis (yes, Germantown, too, where cars are stolen on a routine basis), I would have appreciated a better lit outdoor area. With curbing, it seemed like a great place to trip and fall, too. I had no dealings with staff other than the physician, so I can't speak to that. The x-ray tech was efficient. read more

The physical therapist gives me a print out of stretches to do. No therapy. They push experimental practices like shock therapy not covered by insurance. They also seem to forget about sending your prescription to the pharmacy and when you call them about it they will not answer the phone. Dr Grear ordered MRI of my left foot For a problem that had been going on for months. After he had results of MRI made an appointment to hear the results. When I asked what was wrong he said I have no idea, why don't you make an appointment for 3 weeks from now and maybe it will be better. That was so poor I made an appointment with someone else. I needed a copy of the MRI disc ( ot the written report) I went back to request a cy of the disc and was told I needed to go through a records service you have. I did that on 12/20/2024. I received a conformation email that they had received my request and would let me know when they have my request. Today is 2/3/2025 still nothing. I called the help number to find out status of my request. Was told "it looks like we sent something on 12/30/2024. I never received anything! The person I was speaking to then told me we don't send the disc only the report. This is my MRI that I paid for. I will never do business with Campbell. Or any of my family members or anyone I'm acquainted with. I've worked in the medical field and know it only takes a couple minutes to produce a disc. When talking about doing a discectomy on my BACK he said , "I can schedule you for surgery on Thursday but you will be back at work on Monday". That alone scared me ! I hated every moment at Campbell Clinic. It feels like a factory where they get people in and get them out as fast as they can so they can keep making that money. I went to one doctor for a neck pain and another doctor for my knee pain. Had to come two different days for two different appointments and then they wanted me to go to two different physical therapist at two different times. This is stupid. I moved here from Nashville and was used to the amazing staff at Vanderbilt. At Campbell Clinic there is no personal interaction, the doctors get annoyed when you ask questions and honestly don't seem to know the answers. I asked simple questions like what might have caused this and what is the best plan for treatment. They look at you like a deer in headlights. That one of my appointments I found out my brother had a stroke while I was in the room waiting for the doctor. When he came in I was crying. We have to puffed and turned around and walked out, annoyed. My daughter came here years ago for a broken wrist and the experience was the same. Thanks to Dr. James Guyton, I have suffered for 5 years and 5 months and continue to suffer everyday of my life from the time I get up in the morning until I retire at night. He replaced my left hip and did not do his due diligence of getting my correct height. He replaced my hip with one that was too large and too long. This was confirmed by another orthopedic surgeon. My hip and femur are in excruciating pain whenever I stand and walk. I spend most of my days sitting. I've had to limit over 85 percent of my daily activities. When Dr. Guyton realized the mistake he made, he tried to resolve the problem by asking me to have a lift made for my right shoe. I wanted him to fix my left leg. The surgery was damaging my spine because of the bad limp. He became angry and told his assistant to get me out of the room. He never made any effort to make another appointment for me. I was on my own to heal my wound as best as I could. I was just a mistake that he discarded like I wasn't human. I wrote to his superiors and they never responded. Not one of them apologized. I put all of them in God's hands. I believe that Dr. Guyton and all who condoned his actions will reap what they sow before they leave this earth. Based on his rating, he has satisfied many clients, but he's human and humans make mistakes. He needs to own up to his mistakes and personally apologize. New clients take heed. Research what should take place before, during and after your surgery. I went in for a muscle pull on the inside and back of my leg from working in the back porch. I waited for 40 minutes before I was called. The doctor spent less than 5 minutes with me and tell me it is arthritis. He moved my left leg about two times. He did not even palpate where my pain is. He showed me the x-ray and tell me it is arthritis and wrote me a prescription. I just cannot say anything good about this visit. I wish I went somewhere else. Thank goodness I went for a second opinion with ORTHO SOUTH ( who I will now use for any future Orthopedic care. Broke my wrist and went to Baptist Colliervile. Hospital and was seen by Dr. Bebe and his resident (both with Campbell), and two additional doctors. I had a CT Scan. ALL 4 doctors and the radiologist said I needed surgery. Went to Campbell the next day and saw Dr. Odom who said I needed surgery and referred me to Dr. WELLER, Campbells hand specialist. He said I needed surgery but when I told him I have blood clots on my brain and I take blood thinner he immediately changed his opinion and said I did not need surgery and had me put in a cast. Said for me to come back in 2 weeks. I told him he could speak with my hematologist or neurologist regarding me being off blood thinner before and after surgery but he didn't seem to care and again assured me I did not need surgery!! FOUR doctors had told me I needed surgery but Dr. Weller said I didn't need surgery (I can only assume he. did not want to deal with my blood clots)! I went for a second opinion at Ortho South and saw Dr. Fahey who said I definitely needed surgery and without surgery I would have no use of my hand because my wrist was broken into 7 pieces. When I told Dr. Fahey about my blood clots he asked me to get letters from my hematologist and neurologist regarding being off the blood thinner for a certain amount of time and those letters were received via fax within two hours that day. Surgery was done 2 days later by Dr. Fahey who is one of Ortho South's hand specialist. Sadly most people are too intimidated by a doctor and don't question that doctor's diagnosis or advice and don't go for another opinion! I have tried to speak with the CEO of Campbell to no avail. It appears that he does not care to speak with me and hear my concerns regarding how I was diagnosed and given the wrong advice which could have been detrimental to the healing of my wrist! Other than the great Dr. Robert Miller at Campbell who I have gone to for eleven years, I WILL NEVER GO TO CAMPBELL CLINIC AGAIN! Had I done as Dr. Weller advised and not had surgery I would have had a successful lawsuit against him I am sure but I would much prefer to have a functioning hand! read more

doctor azar is excellent but it's annoying to come in with an appointment and have to stand at a counter and fill out a form online when you are standing right in front of the hired help. my office experience was zero. Tamara copped an attitude and was very rude. when you already don't feel well it's annoying to have to fill out something online to check in. Isnt that their job? I was also penalized, when 15 people came in after me and were called back before me. The office staff didn't turn In my paperwork. Theyre never that slow, the waiting room was cleared out by the time I got called back. I went in after hours and I had rolled my ankle and ended up with a fracture and a stretched tendon on my right foot. Dr. Thompson ordered an x-ray looked at the photo and told me to ice it and buy a ankle sleeve off Amazon and said that's it. Long story short of course my ankle has swollen up, so I go to Campbell Clinic again since my ankle is getting any better the second doctor tells me that the 1st x-ray's were not correct and has to take more x-ray's and guess who paid for them me!!!. I go a 3rd time and now my ankle looks like I have 2 golf balls on each side of my ankle. We are entering the month of May and this all started in December of 2020. My ankle from this point is probably damaged forever since the ligaments are really stretched, I want to Thank the Dr. Thompson for your great medical care !!!!! not. I was very disappointed in my visit. I went in for foot pain. After looking at my X-ray, the doctor said he could see nothing wrong other than arthritis. He said he "could" put me in a boot, but didn't. He asked if I wanted to schedule a follow up in 3 weeks, which I declined. As my pain did not improve, I made an appointment with a podiatrist who immediately said I had a stress fracture just by observing my foot. it did not show up on X-ray, but he said a stress fracture often doesn't show up at first. He sent me home in a boot with instructions. In consequent followup X-rays, a stress fracture was confirmed. I lost valuable time going to Campbell's Clinic and trusting their diagnosis. read more

I have carpal tunnel and require periodic cortisone shots. I have been trying to get an appointment for over a month now, and the day before the appointment, they cancelled. When they called to reschedule, I explained how much trouble I was having and that I could not wait another month for an appointment. The receptionist informed me she would contact the nurse to call me. This is the second time I have tried to contact the nurse and never received a call back. Dr. Calandruccio is a great doctor, however his support staff could care less. I am going to find another facility that returns my calls and gets an appointment timely. read more

i have already made up my mind when I received my medical records middle November 2023. again, 4th request on sent them because of BBB. I am a fan of the Twilight Zone, always have been. I just never thought I would end up in the twilight zone myself. Since my surgery I complained about my right hip and eventually my left hip. My surgeon Dr. William Kurtz no only never examined me, but also would try and blame every other body part but the hips. once I received the medical report, I knew. As a patient, I have the right to know about changes in surgery, use of unplanned equipment and tools, complications, switching out one implant for another without clear language explaining why the measure was off and how you've guaranteed this with the decisions you and your team made. Additionally, because of the additional risks, of this surgery, those risks should have been clearly explained as well as things to watch out for. And when you patient comes in, 30 days post-op complaining about pain and other symptoms, you don't simply throw an X-ray in his face. What does an X-ray tell you, nothing? Because if you don't have anything to say or explain about it, then why order it? After completing more than 25 PT sessions only to have to be extended for 12 more weeks because of the failure on the right side and still nothing from my doctor. During my latest visit when the doctor tried to get X-rays of my foot and back, because by then I could barely walk and my right foot had completely dropped. I had to argue with the techs and managed to get the hips in, but they took the foot out. I never saw a nurse, no vitals, no nothing. Dr. Kurtz came in the room and I hardly recognized him. He looked worry and/or stress. Didn't say anything, just tossed the X-rays in my lap, "probably your back or MS). Wow. He never examined me, never said anything about the X-rays, and I was sent on my way. No PT, no meds, only a referral for an MRI of the back. Dr. Kurtz, with two days before Christmas, how are you sleeping? Pretty good huh? Because as I sit here in pain, and wonder what you did you me, I can't help but to think about why. Why not do an ultrasound with injection into the General nerve as recommended at the onset of symptoms or failure. Why not sincerely address my concerns before they progress to the point of both legs becoming useless. Do you not think that I have a family, a life. a business like you. You depend on the network of doctors, even ones that don'T even know you. I've been to several, and each time that they learn of the surgery and you, everything changes. I've argued with these physicians because I knew they were lying (how sick) and when I received the records from TOA and others, it verified that not only did they lie for you, it's obvious that you lie all the time. So when patients go for a second opinion, a new doctor will sell his soul to protect the profession when we know about the pain you leave your patients in and the fact that your reputation is more important than my life. And why does this have to be about your reputation? Because you made it that way. You could have simply fixed as I requested. Nope, you want to draw a line in the sand over a evil sin, you can't win. You see doctor Kurtz, I am not the type of person that will stop. When this is said and done, you'll be lucky to be doing any more surgeries on anyone. So. When you decide to do an X-ray, you already know that it's only going to show bones, not the other mess you did. Today is a day for learning, and I guess you, or least TOA has realized that these reviews are coming daily. And until I'm whole, they will continue. But at some point, I was just a Black Man in the table, something happened where my life was valued. What's inside of me, I don't know, but my right leg is a inch longer than the left and I now have hips. So, as I look at previous images, I don't have hips, at least they didn't show, were no visible, now I can clearly see them, I mean clearly. This is going to be made right. How do you think I'm working when I am required to train law enforcement and can stand for more than a couple minutes without debilitating pain. Stop me when you think these experiences are normal or acceptable. I've seen better outcomes for pets than the outcome you gave me. I suggest, that you and TOA fix this before i lose total use of both hips and legs. I came to you because I trusted you. It's not working out as you guaranteed. I know you do not support my current condition and this was not the outcome you desired, at least i hope. Until this is rectified, I have to push forward and everyday of silence and just another day of reaching out to you here. January begins the new year and my obvious resolution is to be able to walk without pain, have my hips corrected, and never experience this again. I am losing revenue every day. This oNe is unfortunate because my husband took my son twice and they really liked their doctor-Dr Sawyer a lot the second visit but I am extremely unhappy with how they handled the initial visit. My issue is that they went the first time after hours to see a doctor for my son and when in with the physician assistant they said he needs to come back and see a orthopedic specialist for kids, that pediatrics is not that doctors specialty. Ok then why did you see my son in the first place instead of just referring us to different doctor another time? I know why because they could send us the first bill for $350. That is just wasteful and unnecessary! $350 to tell us you're not the right doctor for him? I work in healthcare and that is just flat out taking advantage of people to get money. They did come back two weeks later and saw the appropriate doctor for his issues and got the care he needed and then of course we're charged another $244.for that visit. I don't have an issue with the doctors, but I have lost patience with the fact that no one will return phone calls. I have a bad knee & have been on crutches for 8 months. I'm not a good candidate for surgery as I will need a knee replacement eventually. the doctor recommended the gel injections. This was back in March. I made the appointment to be told when I arrived that because I was going to be self pay, somebody assumed that I didn't want them. I made the appointment, didn't I? Then someone in the office told me that no, my insurance struck it down. That was no surprise because insurance companies are run by money grubbing morons anyway. I was then told there was a different option for gel injections that would be cheaper & wouldn't involve insurance. I agreed to that. I get a call a few weeks later saying that someone forgot to have me sign the paperwork, so it would be emailed to me. The email didn't arrive, so I waited a week just to give them time. I had to call back a few times before I was called back. They send the email & stupid me thought it could be signed electronically. Nope. So, I go somewhere to try to print it. Stupid me couldn't get it to print larger than a credit card so I could see to sign the thing. An employee at the store tried to help me & he couldn't get it to work. I called Campbell Clinic & left a voicemail. I did this 2-3 times/week for the month of May & the first week of June. I stopped because I had out of town company, then I became ill. I thought they just had so many calls that they would call me back eventually. NO! It has been a month since the last time I called them AND NOTHING! Don't waste your time. Customer service/people are NOT their priority. I saw Dr. Martinez. I waited over an hour after my appointment time, only to have no more than 5 minutes with the doctor (who seemed annoyed the whole time with me asking questions...which I was only asking because he wasn't clear what was wrong or how to fix it). Not to mention, I was disgusted at the treatment received by his assistant, Allen. Allen really made my rating go from 2 or 3 to 1. I'd give him a 0 if it was possible. It was clear Campbell Clinic is a factory & you are nothing but a number in his eyes. If it was up to Campbell's Clinic, I would no longer have my job and be able to do what I love. Thank goodness I decided to get a 2nd opinion & go to Orthosouth. Their service is night and day from CC. read more

I have been a patient here since 1992, and have always received great care. If you have any spinal issues, I highly recommend them, even if it is for a second opinion. Dr. Gardocki is my current surgeon, and he and his staff are truly miracle workers! read more

Too long wait times!!! Just for a visit makes you feel you are in an emergency took us 2:30 for the visit insane!!

I am legally blind and badly broke my toe on a metal chair that i did not see.I called Campbell Clinic who said they accepted my insurance and I do not have a copay with them.To prevent further injury it needed taping and a protective boot to keep it stabilized and keep me from walking on it.They did such an improper job taping it that it healed wrong and would have to be rebroken to straighten it. To literally add insult to injuiry when I was fitted for the boot I was presented with a form "confirming the bootwas received.".Not once was I told that insurance wouldnt pay for it.Informing him that i was legally blind and could not see I requested him to put his finger where the line was.Never did he read to me anything saying it was out of pocket as i would not have accepted it. Common sense says that since you cant cast a toe a protective boot serves that function and is as necessary for the foot as a cast is for the arm so how would I know that it would be an out of pocket cost? The receptionist responsible for check-out tried to make me pay for the ENTIRE visit.I informed her they said they accepted my insurance and to bill them. She persisted and I had to inform her that its illegal to make a patient pay when the clinic is in network.A week later I received a bill for the boot. When I told billing no one told me it would be a non-covered cost she denied it and said it was right on the form. I explained, "ma'am, I'm blind and that was not told to me by the person asking me to sign that it was not covered" She rudely argued that it had been, but she wasnt even present.
