I hired Campbell Commodities for a hot tub removal because they offered the best price. The owner, Rodney, arrived alone in the rain and began sawing the hot tub apart. Because I was working from home, I remained inside. My husband was home but was not a party to our contract and did not know the specific details of the job.Rodney left the job completely unfinished, leaving a massive pile of debris scattered across my yard, including hazardous items like nails. When I messaged him the next morning asking him to return and finish, he flatly refused. Instead of acting professionally, he insulted me, stating, 'you have to act like an adult and come outside,' and threatened to publicly post our conversation. I was working from home so I didn't go outside to "oversee" the removal. But then why would I have to? It is completely reasonable that I stayed inside to work; I thought I hired a professional to do a job, not to be supervised. claims he won't return because my husband didn't complain during the service--but my husband did not agree to anything, and I am the paying client. I paid $250 via Cash App and $100 cash on May 30 for a complete removal. Instead, I am left cleaning up a dangerous mess. The only reason this business gets one star is because he showed up on time despite the rain. I will NEVER hire this business again, nor will I ever refer them to anyone. Definitely do not reach out to this company. I received a message from them on Facebook Market Place: as seen below.. I texted this morning saying I was ready to make an appointment. I received two calls from the #. The first hung up before I could answer but I was able to answer when they called back. It was an extremely strange and aggressive exchange with whoever I spoke with saying "I don't remove pianos for $150." I simply said "that's what you're message said, I send it to you. But it's that isn't the price I'm all set." He said," let's be all set them." & the call ended. He quickly followed up with a text which I've also included. I will be leaving this review everyone because it was incredibly odd, and unprofessional. This guy will steal your money. He will give you one price and then change it last minute. Then gives you his word that he will get it done and doesn't. I sent him $75 on good faith and he stole it. He never came to get the items and then blocked my number. I asked for the money back and he ignores the messages. I have worked for the government for years and didn't want to believe him since he seem shady about changing the amount but he said he's a small business and works based on people trusting him. I say don't make my mistake. Just stay away, you'll be much happier! If I'm a liar why didn't you send me back the $75 as I requested multiple times. Why haven't you just send back the money if it wasn't enough. But you kept it because your a thief. People if the money wasn't enough, would of sent it back, dropped it off or some other way. Rodney came to pickup my baby grand piano. He left a large piece behind. Actually the top which is very heavy. I reached out to him to come back to pick it up. He said he was in the hamptons and would come back in a few days. He hasn't shown up. He did send me a text that his phone broke. I paid him $275 cash . He was supposed to come today.He did not. This has been going on since June16th and today is June 29th. So I guess to improve his business he should complete the job, follow up on answering texts. The quality and value are not there. Worst business transaction ever! Rodney was rude and aggressive through this entire experience. He stated he would be here at 9am then messaged that morning that it would be 10am. I asked to reschedule as I had a prior appointment but he was already on his way to NJ from MA !?! and said he would make it and be quick so I continued. He showed up alone to move a baby grand piano which was not what we had agreed on. He kept asking if I was going to pay "the full amount" of $275 even though we had agreed on $225. He referenced this multiple times. I called a friend because I was uncomfortable and he made several comments asking if that was my husband on the phone and is he going to "pay the full amount". He was fast but did not protect my hard wood floors when he "dissembled" the piano legs with a sledge hammer inside my home. As a result he left two large gouges in the floor at my foyer. When I pointed them out he said he was insured and would file a claim. After I paid him cash he got back in his uhaul to leave. When I approached him to ask about the insurance claim he literally sped around me out of my driveway. He then blocked or deleted me on FB and I had no other means of communication. Whoever Rodney is, he is very rude. I asked for a quote which he was quick to reply. His quote was high. I politely let him know I was able to get a quote for much less. From that point, he verbally attacked me. He thought I was bragging about getting a better price. I am in business and I like to know what my competitors are charging for same services. It wasn't to brag, but to inform. Once I found out he was located much farther away, his cost made sense. However, he continued to be rude and lacked professionalism even after I apologized for not knowing he was so much farther. For me, I like to steer clear of people & businesses that get that hackles up too quickly. Unless you are hard pressed for service, I'd find someone kinder, as he ended up threatening me. read more
