A five star rating does not even begin to encompass the immense gratitude and appreciation I have…read morefor Tyshawn and Walley Masonry Service. Let me start by saying: When I found out that I would need to replace the old, rotten hardwoods throughout half of my house, the task seemed insurmountable. Not only did I need to rip out those old floors, but there was seventy five year old mastic attached to the concrete prohibiting me from pouring the concrete I wanted onto my floors. I came to Walley Masonry for help, to see if there was anything we could do. Tyshawn, without batting an eye, said he could get it done. From a personal standpoint, Tyshawn is an upstanding individual. He respected me and my wishes for the project, and treated the project as if it was his own home he was working on. Not only that, but as all things are in construction, there were several hurdles in our way when removing the mastic, as it was extremely stubborn. Even with remedy after remedy not working, Tyshawn never gave up on making sure the job was done correctly. From a business perspective, Tyshawn is hardworking, committed, and dedicated to the project he is working on. He put in long hours, working well into the night, to get the project done. Whether it be from staying late stripping the mastic off the concrete, pouring the concrete, or making sure to take the extra time to pay fine attention to the details that otherwise may have been missed, Tyshawn made sure that the job was not only done, but that it was done right. You will see in the photos the complete night and day difference between what I started with, and what Tyshawn helped me create. I appreciate him, and would fully support and endorse hiring him for whatever masonry needs you may have!

We witnessed a very large stone come off the back of the truck and strike the passenger side of our windshield. We immediately noticed a very deep ding in the windshield (there were no previous windshield defects), we took pictures of the plate on the vehicle as well as the company name on the side of the door. We contacted the NYS thruway police to file a report and then contacted the truck company directly. We spoke with Heather and described the problem to her, she did confirm that the truck was on the thruway heading the same direction as us and it was in fact carrying crushed stone and gravel. She told us that the company would rather pay out of pocket for the glass repair than go through insurance companies. We were then unable to get ahold of anyone in the company for three weeks, and during this time the ding turned into a crack spanning the length of the windshield. Finally, after three weeks of silence and ignored phone calls, we received a phone call from an attorney informing us that we would have to jump through hoops to even get them to review our statements and claim and even then it would be unlikely to get paid. The attorney also faulted our handling of the situation stating that we should practice erratic driving in order to get the truck driver's attention and attempt to hash it out on the side of the busy highway. Additionally, he told us that there were no trucks out on the road at that time (completely opposite of what the manager Heather had told us that night) so there is no way that our vehicle could have sustained damage from one of their vehicles. Now, we will have to pay a deductible on our insurance in order to get the windshield replaced. Without doing so, we cannot drive our car or have it pass an upcoming inspection. This sort of issue speaks volumes in regards to the values and accountability of this business, and should I be an actual customer I'd be concerned with their follow-through. I would like to forewarn customers who deal with this company of their business practices and their lack of responsibility in regards to things that they are fully responsible. It is their duty to properly secure the materials that they are transporting on public roads to ensure the safety of other drivers. This is a situation that could have been easily avoided , as well as easily resolved, and I do not wish for anyone in the future to have to deal with this type of problem.

Our house dates from 1949, as did the septic tank, a galvanized tin container about 6' in diameter,…read moreno leach field. As the tank had caved in recently, we no longer had a functioning system (which indeed backed into the house at Christmas time.) After we trenched out the old system and at least got liquids flowing, we sought out bids to replace. Not only did the whole system have to get rebuilt to code, but we also had to deal with shale rock inches below the lawn and a wooded area leading down the hillside for the site of the leach field. Given the scope of the project, the first contractor we spoke to was never heard from again. J&R Contracting, headed up the the father and son team of Rick and Rick, arrived 2 days after we called, sized up the project, gave us a realistic estimate given the challenges of the site (e.g. assume an extra day to jack hammer through the shale to create a pit.) We said, "Sure!" Rick took a deposit to pay for the construction of a low profile holding tank, said they'd be back to do the job when the tank was ready. Sure enough, 3 weeks later, the team showed up with two backhoes, a dozer, trucks to transport in sand and topsoil, and chainsaws. We mapped out an area for the tank and leach field, and then they got to work. Over three days a level area was created for the leach field after removing some scrub trees. Specimen trees were tagged and left alone. The big project was jack hammering out the pit, as deep as I am tall. The tank was lowered in, piping connected and soil smoothed over. As J&R already had all the equipment on site, we asked for two days of extra work to bring in ten loads of sand and topsoil to regrade the lawn, reshaping to direct rainfall and winter melt away from the house foundations. The final step in late April will be to distribute shade tolerant grass seed across the new lawn. The final bill matched the original estimate. The added time and materials for sculpting the lawn was, of course, extra. The results far exceeded our expectations.
