The minute I put the new glasses on, my eyes felt funny and vision slightly blurred. When I asked for a re-check, it was confirmed that I had been given the wrong prescription and they gave me another one. This time the optician's comment was "This has somebody else's name on it!" I hadn't even noticed that my name was not on the top line! He called the office and they faxed the CORRECT prescription. No one ever reached out to me or offered apologies. The medical staff are fine, but the factory-like atmosphere and indifference to patients has me searching for a new ophthalmologist.

First off, I do like all of the Doctor's I've seen at Cullom & Farah. I had laser cataract surgery…read moreperformed by Dr. Farah and it was good. The reason for the poor review goes against the Riverside Hospital where the surgery was performed. During preparation for the surgery, the nurses and aides at the Riverside Hospital push you to get a "little" anesthesia for the surgery to ensure that you're comfortable during the procedure. Now, NO ONE from Cullom & Farah's office talked about anesthesia during the surgery and the need for it, but I thought - hey this is the same stuff you get at a Dentist's office so what's the big deal! Months later, after all the bills were paid by my insurance, I was hit by an additional $1,500 bill by Riverside Hospital! Surely, the staff at Collum and Farah should have been aware of what Riverside Hospital was doing and discussed the need or lack of anesthesia before I had the surgeries!

I really appreciated both Dr. Braim's and Amber's professional level of calm and understanding of my situation. After carefully examining me, Dr. Braim provided me with advice that she communicated well. I am impressed.

She communicated well, she is friendly, relatable, all of the good traits you want. But not impressed with the rest of the staff or the frame selection. I was taken to the appointment by a tech who didn't tell me her name, her position, or what she was about to do to my eyes. For example when they do two scans and one has a puff of air coming at you, it would be nice to know why this test is being done and some communication. I understand the techs do this day in day out but as the patient, I need some explanation besides sit here. I would like consent to do these things. Then the tech did the, "is one better or two." So I assumed this was the doctor because she didn't introduce herself and how am I supposed to know? After the tech did the exam, not the doctor, she told me to look at frames. I didn't feel like I could look at a of the frames because they need to be wiped down after. Which I get germs and blah but that just made me not look at frames. Not a horrible thing just something of note because it caught me off guard. They tell me to go back to my exam room, but I'm not sure why, to my knowledge the doctor already did the exam. I waited 35 minutes until the doctor came in. In between that time I did poke my head out and ask if I could check out, I wasn't sure why I was back in the exam room. The tech who did my exam then used an aggressive sassy tone that I still needed to see the doctor. And then it clicked that she was a tech not the doctor. I did not appreciate the lack of communication from the staff. The doctor then came in. She was sweet, seems knowledgeable. HOWEVER!!!! She said my eyes were red and thus I had dry eye. I don't have symptoms. So rather than going over the pros and cons of doing eye drops she just wanted me to start doing eye drops twice a day. BUT SHE DIDNT COMMUNICATE THE SIDE EFFECTS, THE LONG TERM EFFECTS, THAT ONCE YOU START YOU CANT STOP TAKING THEM. And all of the things you'd want or expect from starting essentially a new medication. I already knew that once you start you can't stop so I spoke up and said no. Which to the doctor's benefit she was receptive about, sort of. It made me feel like the doctors get kick back for selling eye drops, maybe she was trying to be genuine but it gave me an icky feeling because there was no communication of pros and cons. All of this said, I will not be going back. Not horrible, just not for me.
