We feel so lucky to have Chelsea teaching our daughter! A lovely personality and mentor, a highly skilled dancer and choreographer, a patient and kind Director. The Music Director Kevin warmly and patiently builds the student's musical understanding and performances. His contribution keeps musical standards high and performances enjoyable. The Business Director/Producer Rachel adds the no nonsense behind the scenes taking care of business ballast for all this creativity. We are grateful for her expertise to keep SingOut thriving. My daughter is attending a performing arts school in the fall. We will still be attending Tue/Thurs Musical Theater at SingOut. It is top notch and she loves it!

Originally named DLOC in 1959 when they formed a company performing Gilbert & Sullivan Light Operas. Eventually they changed the name to Diablo Theater Co. They had a youth program called STARS 2000, which continues to this day to operate. Diablo Theater Co. that use to produce large scale Musicals & Light Opera productions at the Lesher Center For The Arts in Walnut Creek, is no longer in business. STARS 2000 continues as their own company. There is no other youth program that is under the auspices of the Diablo Theater Co. and in fact their studios were sold and are under the ownership of Performing Arts Academy.

"Noises Off" is a British farce, written in 1982 by Englishman Michael Frayn. It's about a play within a play! I liked it a lot and plan to search for the book. The play is complex, mischievous, fun, and with just a few incredible talented actors and two simple scenes over three acts. I totally enjoyed the play and I laughed so hard -- even the door slamming didn't bother me. The play was conveniently playing at my local theater! It's been a while since I have returned a theater, but I got inspired to attend. I'm glad because it would be unfortunate to miss this creative production. The campus is well spaced, with three or four large mixed-age classrooms and two large playgrounds. The school focuses on social-emotional learning through mixed-age group play, teaching children to take care of their own needs (folding their blankets, cleaning up, looking after their belongings, etc., ), and art/creative learning. On a typical day, kids spend time reading books, doing fun activities with their teaches as well as outside play and often times singing or preparing for fun school events. Over the three years since we joined, Sharmila has grown this school through word of mouth and expanded her staff and school facilities. The student to teacher ratio is impressive (about 1:6) and kids get individual attention from their care-givers. Our daughter misses her teachers and the experience. Throughout the school year there were plenty of events for parents to take part in and to connect with other families. Whenever we needed help managing a challenge, Sharmila was always keen to work with us and accommodating. She has a good understanding of the individual nature of each kid and what would enable them to overcome a challenge. It is evident that Sharmila has years of experience and understanding in nurturing young children.

Then we were greeted again once we were inside, this time by Jay Alexander himself! He welcomed us, and found us a seat himself for us to get comfortable and order some drinks before the show started. He did this with everyone who came in, took the time to learn our names, and even performed magic while we were waiting for the stage show. That was amazing enough already, then the stage show started. Not only was the magic and mentalism great, his demeanor and excitement for what he was doing was palpable. My wife and I could tell he loves doing this, and that makes it even more fun than it would have been otherwise. My wife and I were also brought 'on-stage' and that was also a lot of fun. I have been to other shows where the magician does not make the spectator feel comfortable, and this couldn't be further from that. He made us feel like the most important thing was that we had a good time, and we certainly did. I cant wait to see Jay again. My wife and I knew we wanted to incorporate into our wedding our Jewish, Israeli, and Sephardic roots, while still creating a joyful, dance-filled, and modern day. While we loved the idea of having a klezmer band perform, we were nervous some of our non-Jewish guests wouldn't get into it. The band did an incredible job of weaving between traditional and modern, creating a music environment that any guest could enjoy and sing and dance along to. It was also so unique to have a band that wasn't attached to a stage and who followed and lead us along throughout the different stages of the Jewish wedding process (Kabbalat Panim to ceremony to Yichud to the Hora to the Reception). Some of our favorites: their emphasis on Turkish music, Od Lo Ahavti Dai (an Israeli folk song), and their spin on Take on Me, klezmer style. We 100% recommend Saul Goodman's Klezmer Band. They were a joy to work with and helped make our wedding an unforgettable event for us and all our guests!

Berry picking is seasonal and it's currently closed, I believe** During peak season, hours are from 8am - 11am so make sure you arrive early! My friends and I arrived at 10 near the tail end of the season and there was plenty of parking (a small, unpaved lot!) and space to pick berries. There are signs indicating which rows correlate to which berries (I didn't know there were so many varieties) and the farm offers both black and raspberries. One thing i really liked was that they have specific rows they recommend visitors pick from. We didn't see the signs are first so we ended up picking from the back/middle rows, but the berries were all so sweet and juicy. I'd definitely recommend people checking this out for a quick, cute weekend date with friends or loved ones :)

He did a half hour of magic and invited guests up to participate. Another half hour of balloon animals and even provided extra for the kids who popped theirs while sword fighting! My 5 year still thinks they are a magician because Isaac made them believe that they did a magic trick with their very own hands! I would recommend Isaac for kids parties and other events. None of the teachers want to be here they are all underpaid and regularly complain about their salary. While I was there I would consistently hear teachers say "I can't answer that that's above my pay grade" or joke about how they can't afford to pay for anything. Many of them were just bullies and put no effort into teaching us. The teachers also have no control over the students with classes being so hectic that lesson plans would get put on pause. If you are a smart student you won't be challenged here, if your a student with learning disabilities you will get NO support. The campus is laughably small and unclean. The buildings are in horrible condition with middle schoolers learning in portable classrooms. In my opinion it kind of feels like they just added the middle school on in the 80's to make more money. The food is horrible but the kids are even worse.
