This was the first time my wife and I stayed two nights in the ramblewood cabins. We rented the…read moreBalsam Fir cabin which is located right next to First Connecticut Lake (see picture) and were not disappointed. The view was amazing. The cabin was very clean with a spacious kitchen and living room with cable TV. There were two bedrooms, one with queen size mattress and the other with two full size beds. There was also an extra full bed in the living room. The bathroom was small but functional. The cabins come with pots, pans, mugs, plates, bowls, utensils, coffee machine, microwave and fridge . Just be sure to bring your own salt, pepper, and other condiments. On Saturday we spent the whole day outside riding ATVS and water skiing. Then grabbed dinner at the Rainbow Grill on Beach Rd. It was the best food we have had in a long time. We will definitely be back Ramblewood Cabins next year and hopefully spend more than just a few days.

The wood stove kept the inside nice and warm during the cool nights. Outside there were Adirondack chairs, a fire pit and charcoal grill. The porta-potty was spotless, and even though we never used the outdoor shower, it was clean and looked very fun. Our weekend package came with a UTV rental. Jamie with Bear Rock took the time to go over everything with the rental, explain the vehicle and what the rules are. He also had trips loaded into the navigation so we could pick from trips that were easy to intermediate. We chose a 4-6 hour loop that took us from Colebrook, into VT, next to Canada and through Pittsburg. We stopped at their main store in Pittsburg, everyone was super nice. It did rain for the second half of the trip, and we were very wet by the time we made it back to the tent, but overall we had a great time. I highly recommend the stay and play package, well worth the money for the experiences you get.

Overall a great place to rent gear while at Lake Umbagog!…read more I'll be honest there was a staff misunderstanding/snafu that could have ended up being a really sour spot in our weekend, but the owner Thomas was amazing about going out of his way to fix things. The boat was in great condition, lifejackets were new, and the location of the shop was great for exploring and putting in. One thing to note, they apparently have spots on the lake that you can rent to camp at? Rafting was a normal experience with fun water currents and a fun ride. But after rafting, you're…read moregiven an option to go tubing for free, me and my family decided to go tubing down the river which we had to walk down the pathway which was fine. Once we got into the water with no instructor, the only instructions we were given was to follow the same path we took for rafting and swish towards the right after the bridge. We also were told not to get out of our tube. The experience was normal, but nothing really special, when we were tubing once we passed the bridge we tried to steer right, but nothing was happening due to the strong currents. When we were approaching the time where we're supposed to get out of the tube nothing changed. This led to me and my family having to evacuate our tubes and caused us to hit our feet on the shallow sharp rocks in the waters. It was painful and I don't recommend to anyone. We had to get out of our tubes, drag our tubes with us to the shore while hitting sharp rocks and it was not fun. Overall, the rafting was normal and expected, but the tubing was not fun and I recommended they have an instructor or staff help navigate the strong dangerous waters to prevent any accidents.
