I would not advise anyone to purchase from this Camping World. I thought they were strong arm manipulators...anything to get the sale. When we got home and a cover for one of the outside lights was gone, their suggestion was to "go buy one". Brand new and they wouldn't help...a two dollar part! We couldn't get a loan percent from them or other info on our loan. At least 5 different people 'helped' with the book work. And after telling them our budget, they kept coming in with higher prices. Please do your research on Camping World before purchasing from this company. Please search customer complaints, and the lawsuits filed against Marcus Lemoni, who I call, "Mr. Profit." The main complaints for Camping World nationwide are poor customer service. Of course, they are all about profit, so customer service is low on the spectrum. If you are from Minnesota, and wish to purchase a recreation vehicle, I recommend PleasureLand. Their BBB rating is + and their customer service rating is excellent. Unfortunately, we did not do our homework before purchasing our Keystone Cougar at the Minneapolis RV Show. We were not planning to buy for a couple years, but the deal was something we couldn't pass up. Our young salesperson, Jon, was fantastic, and that's where customer serviced ended. No one from financing let us know our paperwork had been processed and we ended up sitting there for an extra 2 hours before someone confirmed that it had been completed earlier. They were so "busy." We needed a copy of our paperwork for insurance, and the finance person at Monticello was so terse and abrupt, we informed him by text that we were terminating the transaction. That got his attention enough to call me. His excuse was that he was "busy" (which is the worst excuse you can give to a customer.) Unfortunately, we decided to go through with the purchase. He could not understand what he needed to provide. I explained several times that it was the sheet that listed the make, model, and pricing so that we could add it to our insurance policy. Although I asked him to email a copy to me, he texted a copy that I was unable to print. I sent him numerous texts, and left voice messages, which went unanswered, and resorted to calling our salesman, who took care of it for us. We then received a phone call to set up an appointment for the application of a protective coating which was included in the purchase, clear out the anti-freeze in the pipes. Because my husband is an over-the-road truck driver, and away from Sunday evening through Friday evening, he asked if he could deliver the trailer on Saturday, they could apply the coating, and we'd pick it up the next Saturday. He was told, "Oh, no. We don't have room in our lot for that." So, my husband took a Friday off, drove the trailer to Monticello, and we expected it to be completed on Monday. I received a call on Wednesday of that week from Matt, saying that the trailer was being readied to go into the Service Department for coating. My reaction was "WHAT?!" It ended up that the trailer sat in their lot for 10 days before the work was completed. My husband picked up the trailer, drove it home, and found that the cover panel for the water heater had blown off during the trip home. It had not been fastened adequately by the service department. Furthermore, as my husband was filling the water heater, water leaked all over the ground. He spoke to Matt in Customer Service about the panel. Matt told him to send a picture so they could order the correct panel. Did and done. Matt lost the picture. We sent another. The picture was again lost. We ended up sending a third picture. Matt informed us that he would submit a replacement panel under warranty. Of course, that was denied. It was not a warranty issue. It was Camping World's negligence. I told him that Camping World needs to replace that panel at no cost to us. Matt said he had to check with his people on how to handle this. I asked him what that meant. He said that it might be that my husband didn't check to see if the panel was fastened before he left Camping World. I responded that it was not our responsibility to do that. That's like having your tires changed, and when they fall off on the way home, it's your fault because you didn't check the lug nuts. Customers rely on the Service Department to make sure everything is in order before we leave. I stressed that it is Camping World's responsibility to replace that water heater panel at no cost to us. Matt is a "company man." He blabbers on with his salesman talk. His objective is to save money for the company, and will try to make Camping World's negligence the customer's problem. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't talking to an inarticulate person who couldn't see through his B.S. My husband had a subsequent conversation with Travis. Matt had argued with Travis about who's responsible for the cost of the panel. Travis told him to it was the Service Department's responsibility because of negligence and to get that part ordered. Again, seriously reconsider purchasing from any Camping World. Do your homework and check online reviews. Research your local RV dealer whose business depends on customer satisfaction. read more

Had appointment for repairs to slide out quoted 4 to 6 hours 15 days later after numerous no calls back was informed it would be an additional 20 to 24 hours of labor. Did not get repaired at CW took to Lazy days was quoted 6 hrs and was completed on time and on budget. I do not recommend Camping world for service on any camper. read more

I would not even give them a 1 but had to choose something. PLEASE, OH PLEASE do not buy A RV from Camping World. We put $ down on a 2017 Coleman Travel Trailer even though we had reservations when reading all the reviews. I read about the financing and extended warranties complaints so we financed the Trailer through our Credit union and I was very clear with the finance person we were not going to take any additional services either. We arrived for our walk through on a Wed. AM. (we took the day off to do this) and we were greeted at the door. We had a knowledgeable Technician ( Steve) do our walk through. He spent a couple hours going through everything and answering all our questions. We were very impressed with him. While we were in giving them our credit union check they took the trailer and washed it. All was good up to this point. THAT IS WHEN ALL WENT WRONG. When they brought the trailer back from washing it they parked it in the sun and not in the shade like during the walk through and as my husband was backing up to hitch it up I NOTICED ALL THESE BUBBLES ON THE SIDE OF THE TRAILER. I IMMEDIATELY ASK WHAT THOSE WERE AS THIS WAS MY FIRST TRAILER. THE TECHNICIAN SAID HE WOULD GET THE MANAGER and I TOLD MY HUSBAND TO NOT HOOK UP THE TRAILER AS WE ARE NOT BUYING IT. THE MANAGER JAY OR SO WE THOUGHT ( a salesperson) CAME OUT TO THE TRAILER ALL RED FACED. He said " Didn't your salesperson tell you the trailer had delamination issues"? REALLY??? (Funny how our salesperson Gregg Hendrickson had that day off). The issue with the trailer could of put us in a very bad $ situation as the fiberglass sides front and back were separating from the frame and was probably from water damage. I demanded my Check back and told them we were not buying the trailer. They had me sit in the waiting room while about 5 people were up in the glass office conversing. I walked up to the office and they gave me my check and we left. God, was watching out for us. We should have went with our gut from the beginning but we loved the trailer. If they would not have given me my check at that moment I probably would of called the police. I was not leaving without my check. Once I got in the truck to go home while shaking and tearing up my husband said the technician was impressed how I handled the situation. We have since bought a travel trailer at Pleasureland in St. Cloud and were very impressed all around. BEWARE OF CAMPING WORLD. This happened back at the end of October and only now could I calm down and write this. They are very dishonest and I told them that. Service Advisor Travis Manske was on top of our issues and expedited the work. The Satellite tech also did a great job. Bought a 2016 Cougar 21RBS March 31, 2017. Overall happy with the trailer and service. Have had some issues with the trailer and the manger of service, Jerry, was great to work with. Made it easier to correct the issues during a stressful time with family stuff going on. We recently purchased our dream (used) RV from Camping World of Monticello MN. We had heard horror stories about CW and thought we were prepared. It turned out much worse than we had ever expected. Within the first 5 minutes the salesman had already lied to us about why the previous owner was selling and if he had pets in the RV. It went straight downhill from there. We had previously asked to do a walk through of the RV before we bought it and be present for anything they did on it. We were told it was being prepped and we would have to wait. We finally told them it was a deal killer if we didn't get to take part in it. When we finally got in the RV the first thing we did was check the voltage on an outlet. It showed an open ground, on all outlets. THEY HAD PLUGGED THE RV INTO A FAULTY 30 AMP CORD WITHOUT A SURGE SUPPRESSOR ATTACHED! Idiots. We told the tech that we wanted to check the water system and so he hooked it up to a hose. Water was spewing, not dribbling, from the hose connection flooding the bay of that beautiful RV and he just walked away leaving it like that. We quickly realized that we knew more about the RV than he did and some of the info he gave us was just wrong. We asked to look at the roof which is an important part of any inspection. The salesman insisted we had to drive the RV off Camping World property before we could climb up the ladder to look at the roof. Are these people even insured? We eventually decided to make an offer. While negotiating price, we mentioned we would need to replace the tires. THE SALESMAN LOOKED UP AT US AND PROCLAIMED "THOSE TIRES ARE BRAND NEW". When we asked how he knew that, he said "from looking at them". We asked to see the date codes on the tires so we all went out and A TECH CAME OVER TO READ THE DATE CODE AND AS EXPECTED THEY WERE OVER SIX YEARS OLD. It is good we knew about date codes on tires. The person in charge of final paperwork was friendly until he asked if we wanted to buy an extended warranty for over $7,000 and we said no. He became indignant and repeatedly asked why we didn't want it, and we politely told him we would take our chances. After that IT WAS OBVIOUS HE WAS MAD AT US AND INSINUATED WE WERE STUPID FOR NOT PURCHASING THE WARRANTY. We know it's a big moneymaker for their company but getting pissed at a customer is hardly necessary. The salesman created all of the stress in this situation by telling us INCORRECTLY that the title had to go through the broken Minnesota RMV system where people were waiting MONTHS to get to their titles. We kept trying to get someone to help us to no avail. After a couple of weeks of cryptic one-liners from the salesman, we finally heard from the person who handles CW titles. She said they DID NOT EVEN HAVE THE TITLE as THERE WAS A LIEN ON IT AND THE BANK STILL HAD IT. She turned out to be very competent and totally overworked. She could have answered all our concerns in seconds if the salesman had just stood up and walked 20' down the hall and asked her instead of feeding us BS for weeks. To get rid of us the salesman gave us another temporary permit and said he could keep them coming as long as we needed. He gave us a mostly blank Minnesota temporary permit, telling us to fill in the VIN number, Name and Vehicle information ourselves (even though they had all that info on record from the first permit). It says right on the permit that the dealer shall keep a copy. The carbon copy part labeled "Department Copy" was still attached so we don't see how it could have been registered with the state. All we could imagine was getting pulled over with an invalid permit, having our RV impounded, with a long legal process to get it back. That entire process seemed very sketchy. The salesman told us that they would change the oil in the generator. We took him at his word. During the pre-purchase walk through, the generator worked fine, started right up and ran smoothly long enough for us to test the circuits, probably 5 min. When we got the RV back home, the generator no longer worked. We checked the oil and it was way way above the full level on the dipstick. We siphoned out over 7 oz. extra oil before it was down far enough to read full on the dipstick. We changed the oil and here is the really interesting part. The oil by the dipstick that we siphoned off was fresh, clear, new looking oil. The oil that flowed out of the drain plug was old, black oil. The only scenario imaginable is someone just poured fresh oil in to make it appear that the oil had been changed. We wrote CWMN about this three times, three different ways but never heard back from anyone. Monticello has taken the nationwide reputation of Camping World's spectacularly poor service to a whole new level. Read reviews before going anywhere. Camping World doesn't have a monopoly on spectacularly poor service, they are just much better at it than most. read more

We purchased a brand new camper and the extended warranty and interior and exterior protection. Once home we noticed items that were damaged before the purchase. We returned unit to the store and it has taken two weeks for them to tell us some of these items will not be covered. This company is a joke and scam the customer for every penny. Wishes we would have went with someone else on such a large and important purchase. The store refuses to take any accountability and we will likely be paying out of pocket for items we never broke or damaged. Will never be back and hope this review helps future customers. read more

We have called Camping World in Monticello a couple of times looking for parts. We were told each time they had the parts in stock and to stop in. We drove 30 miles each way only to find out they didn't have the parts in stock anyway. We did this twice, won't happen again! read more

We recently purchased a used towable with the Monticello, MN camping world. First off, used = no warranty. That is unless you want to buy one, an offer that came down to an extra $30+ a month (for us) as we chose a partial finance. On our second visit, we were there with clear intent to make a purchase. We asked questions, we tried to operate all the bells & whistles, we made a short punch list & we sat in the finance office for a 'spheal' that went on for a looooong time. We left tired & hungry but they do offer coffee & popcorn as a side note. SIX hours!!!!! This process took 6 hours!!!!! Whatever you finance that day, it has interest on it. The sales tax has interest, the warranty has interest, etc. We were satisfied with the service but in our book, this is a CORPORATION, not your usual local or mom & pop. How many && are staying local?? A huge shout out goes to Scotty V., our technician. He did our walk-through & answered ALL our questions. He was knowledgeable, helpful, patient, & honest. Overall the Camping World experience was ok. I'm not a fan of places like Sam's Club where they make their money on memberships. Camping World reminds me of Sam's or Cabela's in that they are clearly trying to make their money through loans, insurance sales, & warranties. We felt like cattle being shuffled through. It appeared to be about $$ & time & we were not drawn in by this. read more

Ok. Last summer I brought my camper here for quite a bit of work. I had them do everything, including repack the bearings and replace all my brake pads, including an inspection of the brake system. Since then, Imve only put about 3000 miles in the camper. Right now, I'm sitting in a hotel in Somerset Pa , waiting for a new bearing and brake assembly to be overnighted for my camper. The bearing and brake assembly wiped out in Route 76, while I was in my way to a funeral in Maryland. I won't be making the funeral Please think twice a lot doing business with these guys, unless you like being stuck somewhere Update: After having the bearings replaced on the rear right, I drove around 350 miles when the rear left burned out. Camping World couldn't find anyone to fix it on-site, so I replaced it myself, and drove it 40 miles to the Camping World location in Kingston NY. There, they serviced all four wheel bearings. I had to pay half the bill. I left New York this morning, drove 381 miles, and I'm now stuck on Route 80 westbound, with the front passenger side bearing smoked. I called the Kingston location several times, and the service tech blamed me, saying that my brake gain was set too high. My truck has an engine brake. I never go over 60 or so, and rarely use the trailer brakes on the interstate. The engine brake slows me down. After telling George Becker that I don't use the brakes, he hung up on me. I've also called Camping World corporate, but since it's a Friday afternoon, I doubt I'll hear from anyone today. So, here I sit, again. Oh, and I pulled this camper for over three years with no problems, before Camping World got their hands on it, but somehow this is my fault Another update. I sent in all the receipts for my repair bills, about a month ago. I haven't heard a word. Remember this when you need to get your RV serviced. These people couldn't care less about their customers. At the very least they could apologize and reimburse me. Patronize these guys at your own risk. I guess, in order to get my money, I'll have to go to court. These guys are the worst. read more

Run - don't walk - away from this dealership. Did our research on the RV we wanted. Found it 4 hours from home at Camping World in Monticello MN. Should have done my research on the dealership. Called on 5-9-18 to see about coming down to purchase the rig. They were happy to set us up with an 11:00am appointment on 5-12-18. After we got our fancy personalized Customer Lanyards, We waited 3 1/2 hours to finally sit down with financing. Finally sat down with Financing. They up sold me on a bunch of insurance I probably didn't need. That's on me. What's on them is that they neglected to have me sign the proper paperwork to title the rv. The clock is now ticking on the 21 day temporary license. 10 days later I get a call from Ryan Anderson saying they need to email me the forms for me to sign. I say sure. Another 10 days pass with no emailed forms. Numerous calls to them were shuttled to voice mail. None of them were returned. When I asked the receptionist on the phone if I could please talk to a live person rather than a voicemail box, her snarky reply was, "well, you're talking to me live now, so..." I finally talk to Ryan live on the phone. No apology, but excuses galore. The guy running my original paperwork was new, the titling clerk is unavailable... He did email the forms, which need my signature and my wife's. If I can sign them immediately and scan them back to him I can see my license in 48 hours. I told him my wife is out of town. He told me that if my wife should suddenly surprise me with a return home and if her signature looked a lot like mine, I should tell her "thank you from Ryan." Not being comfortable forging a signature on a bank document, I elected to wait till my wife can sign her own name. Now I'm 3 days away from my temporary license expiring. My first camping trip will most likely happen in my own driveway. Thanks, Camping World. BTW- I still have had zero returns on my dozen or so voice and emails. This outfit is unscrupulous in their practices. I have no confidence in them. read more

We tried to trade in a camper purchased from another camping world and we thought they were helping us work through the problem but they didn't. One star because it is required to choose at least one. Purchased a used motorhome in April and was told by our salesman that there was a $1300 inspection that would check and fix every single thing to ensure that we could take it out and camp ASAP with NO WORRIES. First try at camping and the jacks were not filled with hydraulic fluid to stabilize the RV and the thermostat was broken and we had no heat. Also noticed that we did not have an odometer reading. We called our salesman-No response. Called the Service Department and they told us to come in which is 30 miles one way from our house. They fixed the above items. Returning home our brakes malfunctioned and we replaced brake pads and calipers at over $600-this was actually a recall that was not repaired and they would not reimburse. Second attempt at camping this time we were able to get far enough to hook up to water and the pipe they repaired before purchase was done incorrectly and it flooded the RV. Called our salesman again and again-No response. Back to the Service department for repairs again. Third attempt at camping the circuit board on the water heater was bad and would not heat on propane-over $100 out of our pocket again. Also inspected house batteries and needed to fill with over 2 gallons of distilled water. Checked air filter which was plugged solid - over $200 out of pocket again. Clearly the inspection is the biggest waste of money as the batteries, thermostat, water heater, odometer, water hooked up and tested, air filter and jacks were not inspected as all of these issues would have easily been discovered. Still have yet to hear from our salesman after several phone calls and emails. The only positive thing I can say is that Travis in the Service department is amazing to work with. If you want to buy an RV and ACTUALLY camp with it do not buy here as we are still putting out money and have yet to be able to camp. read more

We bought a motorhome in February and from the first they got the financial piece wrong and made it extremely difficult to work with our bank, as the "financial" guy never admitted to faxing the necessary paperwork to our bank until I spoke with the manager and he personally had to fax it. This should have been my sign of bad things to come! When we went to pick up the motorhome, there was no spare tire, so they said and included in the agreement that they would send us a check for $200 which doesn't even cover the cost of the tire, we still have not received that check. Then on the way home come to find out the HEATER didn't work! If we had broken down, with my 80 year old dad, Alzheimer's mom-this could have been deadly here in Minnesota. Had to turn off and on the heater for the actual motorhome. NOTHING would come out of the vents. We also had paid for "prep" work, well there was NO prep work done, the oil and filter had never been changed and we had to fix the heater. Now fast forward to today, we get the title, completely wrong, wrong license, wrong vin number, make model-EVERTHING! DMV says we have to go there, which is a 5 hour trip, and have them fix it. I will NEVER, EVER go there again and if I didn't have to deal with these other issues I would never step foot in there again. I am so mad!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE! All we had wanted to do with my mom while we still could is travel and have a little fun before she leaves us and goes to be with the Lord and they have made this the most miserable experience of my life and of my dad's life. read more

We had a great experience with our sales guy the first time we visited. However when we returned for the paperwork and to pick up our camper it was a nightmare. We had a 12:00 appointment; when we asked a second time about 12:20 "what the the hold up was" we were put into the customer lounge until finally at 12:41. We were taken to an office for another 10 minute wait. The finance guy was matter of fact and rushing through the paperwork and explanations. When we questioned the warranty and final dollar amount the guy got short and made the rest of the process uncomfortable. This is our 4th time purchasing a camper and the worst experience we have ever had. read more

Our experience with Camping World Monticello, MN RV service department has been horrible. We had service done there during the month of May to prepare for the camping season and the work still isn't completed. We were promised our RV for Memorial Day week and about half of the work wasn't completed. Matt and Travis in the service department never return our calls to check-up on the status of the RV. We ended up driving over 60 miles there to talk to them and to review exactly what work needed to be done. We've already had to pay over $5000.00 in service completed. We had our whole Jayco Greyhawk resealed, which was most of the cost. We were double charged for the resealing and repair of the roof for over $1200 and are trying to get a refund from Camping World. The extra charges were hid from the bill that I reviewed and were added to a copy that I finally got. Travis, the service manager refused to go out with us to show us what had been repaired on the RV when we went to pick it up for our vacation. After we argued and spoke very loudly in the store, he finally went out with us to show us the work. There was no customers waiting in the service department while we were there to pick it up. After reviewing the complete reseal of the RV, I noticed that there was no sealant under the windows, cabinets, doors, etc. Travis said that water doesn't go up. I said what about when you're driving it during a rainstorm and having water splashed up from the road. And, then we looked at all the other RVs around ours and they had sealant under their windows, cabinets, doors. So, Travis lied to us. We requested that they finish the job and we waited 2 hours and returned to pick it up. We had them check our slide out and they said that all the swiper and bulb seals were installed wrong and were submitting it for our extended warranty. It's been over 4 weeks and they still haven't submitted the claim for our extended warranty. They also needed to replace the spray hose in the kitchen, when we went to pick it up it wasn't done. When tried to use the kitchen sink on our vacation, water sprayed all over the RV. So, we couldn't use the kitchen sink for 2 weeks. We ended up having to do our dishes outside in a bucket of water, which was very inconvenient. Again, I repeat, DO NOT GO TO CAMPING WORLD IN MONTICELLO, MN. THE SERVICE DEPT IS HORRIBLE, THEY NEVER CALL YOU BACK, THEY LIE. AND THEY RUIN YOUR RV. read more

We brought our 2015 Grand Design Solitude to Camping World in Monticello, MN on April 26, 2018 for an estimate for what would be considered relatively minor damage to our 5th wheel. It took them five (5) weeks and 18 telephone calls from us to get them to successfully complete and correctly submit their estimate to the appropriate insurance office where it is now being reviewed for approval. They are totally inefficient and their customer service is terrible. Because of that, it is now June 6, 2018...six (6) weeks later and no repairs have yet even been started. Based on our history with them to date, it is scary to think they will be doing the repairs! Our insurance company advised that based on all of their insured complaints about Camping World that they are re-assessing using them in the future. read more

Located used camper online talked with sales rep and said I would be down in a couple days can you hold it? He needed $2500 down (seems a bit much for a used camper) so gave him credit card. Told sales rep I am new to 5th wheels and he recommended me a few to look at and that they have in stock. My appointment was at 10 am and I get there at 9:30 and find the salesperson that I talked to and he said they will pull it around. At 1030 the finally get around to it and they tell me that they are a volume dealer and lots of campers going out today. As I was waiting I had looked at the 5th wheels and noticed that he had quoted me $129 more that what the price tag said in the store. So I asked him why I was quoted so much more. He told me that its for the labor that it takes to put it in. I was floored I wanted the 5th wheel that attaches to the goose neck ball, there is one pine and two bolts to tighten. I told that salesmen that I will put it on. Salesmen Said, " That's what everyone does, we are a volume dealer and need to get people in and out of here. So go to the parts desk and ask to get the 5th wheel to put on and they don't have it in stock and can't get it till tomorrow, but you can go to St. Cloud to pick it up. Boiling at this point I drove to go get it. Came back and asked if I could borrow two wrenches. They told me they could not borrow any tools. Went to tools store across street and was gonna buy a socket set and instead they just borrowed me the tools and I installed the 5th wheel hitch in less then 10 mins. Back to Camping world I go... After inspection of camper they send you off the finance guy. He try's to get you to buy $3000 dollars worth of warranty (in my case not worth it). They tack on over $200 for battery and inspection, I asked what they inspect and he really didn't know. Well can tell you they don't look for cracking on the roof or test the water lines because first use out they both leaked. When I finally got out of finance office I went to look for my used camper that I just purchase and could not find it. Asked salesperson and he pointed and told me to check there. Asked if someone could help me hook it up and he told me if I would of payed the $129 in labor they would of helped you. 4:30 I finally got out of there Make sure if you buy a used camper to check for wet spots in cabinets, check roof for holes in seems. Just bought a camper at Monticello MN Camping World. Had been out of camping for several years - but caught the fever once again. Had some specific needs in mind - towing weight, room for extended stays when traveling South, as well as a floor plan which provided comfort and easily accessible and comfortable sleeping for two. Robert Askin and Jackie Singh worked with me (time split with a major camping show going on - and seniors who do not act quickly) and found a unit perfect for our needs. Follow up calls, and working with the service department setting up the camper and my tow rigs was a great help. The dealership offers a huge selection - a great supply store - and complete service department, as well as providing "Good Sam" membership and service contracts/insurance/financing and other benefits for their customers. The communication between sales, finance and service was horrible. Went back for a second look at the toy hauler we wanted to buy. Left with paperwork started thinking everything was OK. Ordered and paid for a hitch. Called our salesperson 3 times and emailed without our questions being answered. Called finance once and left message; no response. Service called on a Saturday to say our hitch was in and when we wanted it installed; not our salesperson so we could coordinate both the pickup of our camper & installation of hitch. So we called and set the date. Got there at 10:30am on a Wednesday and our salesperson had to leave; left 2 other people in charge (one was a trainee). Hitch got installed; paid for the camper & then we were left stranded. Items on the camper were not done and no one to talk to. Went to service 3 times to find out what was going on and everyone who was working with us was at lunch. During the walk thru we were learning things about the camper as well as the person who was showing us. Very disappointing. We finally were able to leave with our camper between 2-3pm which was unacceptable. Now there are some issues so let's see how service & Camping World handles this. Manuals were non-existent also. Nothing about the camper itself. As we told the finance person; if we hadn't liked the camper so much (which was an exclusive with Camping World) we would never have been back. read more

I'm writing this review in particular of the Sales Staff of Monticello, MN CW. The salesmen in particular that you need to avoid are Jay for his lack of communications skills, his boss Bryan, the salesmanager, Especially the Finance Dept for the serious lack of communicating and being inept at treating a customer with respect. And the WORST Final sales person we have ever had in Justin, who was impatient,( he got called in on his day off, or so he said) made us wait without telling us why the long and I mean long delays. We ordered our trailer back on May 2, and asked specifically for certain colors, and packages for our unit, so naturally it had to be built down in IN. Our original salesman Robert Askin took good care of us, or so we thought, we still aren't sure whose lying to us. Robert left CW 3 weeks later, and NOBODY in sales called to tell us. When we called beginning of June to make sure we were still on target for June 29th, we got a HUGE runaround, from the sales dept. We learned that Robert wasn't there anymore, and that our unit wasn't assigned to another salesmen. It was by committee, according to Bryan. After another week we get a call from Jay who now has our unit and says, "Everything is fine". Fast forward to the last week of June. We called Jay that Monday, were told the unit will be done and should be shipped from IN Tuesday AM for Thursday AM delivery in Monticello, give them 3 hours to check it out and we'll be good. See you at 10AM Friday. We're Super Happy. June 29th a Friday was the "day from hell". First off we get a call from Jay Thursday afternoon to say the contractor who was bring our unit was delayed, could we adjust to 1PM, ok being a former trucker I understood shipping delays. We get to CW at noon, find out from Jay that our unit is STILL an hour out. So, we wait, we also ask Bryan , can we sit down and start whatever paperwork in the mean time. Bryan says sure, let me get the Finance guy and go thru it. We watched as salesmen scurried around us for over and hour, not telling us a DAMN thing. They love to hide back in their glass secured area in the rear. Finally, the first Finance person Pete, sits us down and says, "WE CANT FIND THE PAPERWORK ROBERT DID FOR YOU". All this time they waited!!!!, I asked WTH!!! why didn't you look into this before we drove here???, All he said was My Bad, but the Bank needs to verify income and my award letters, ( VA/SSDI). We were furious, not about needing this stuff, BUT that they hadn't looked in the folder, to see if they still had it from May. it was now 215PM. We went back home got the papers and drove back, its now 430PM, the unit had arrived by then and they were doing a check. We were told by Jay/Julie/and Pete give us a bit and you can take a look at it. We were ignored for the next hour. Finally, at 545PM. We got to look, here where the tempers flared, it had the WRONG inside colors and some of the items we were told we could get were not ACTUALLY avail on this unit. PISSED DOESNT EVEN COVER IT, all this time waiting since May 2nd and Friday and they never bothered to confirm ANYTHING. We demanded to see the original sales down payment contract with the Options we asked for. ( yah we should have gotten a copy back in May, BRAIN FART). But, we were show a COMPLETE FABRICATION from the one we did with Robert. We know this cause Robert made noted in the margin, this was clean. We were told By Bryan, sales manager. That between what Robert may have done and what the plant in IN did, is sometimes out of their control. BS, they were basically saying "TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT". And what DAMN choice did we have , we couldn't wait 2 months for another, MAYBE WRONG unit to be built, we were stuck. Yes Bryan extended us a gift card for $300 to be spent there, but still. And the last thing was the Finance guy Justin. He was in a big rush, he said he got called in, BFD, DO YOUR JOB AND TREAT FOLKS RIGHT!!!. He asked us to sit down at his desk, look at the possible Good Sam Club RV insurance, (we were happy with our own coverage company. He left and went to that glass cage in financing for over an hour, didn't say ill be back, or anything. He finally came back after I had had time to hook up our unit and got about half the paperwork done, and then he took off again!!!!!. 30 min later he returned to sign the finally stuff. All this time, we are the only ones in the place as the cleaning crew was busy, ( they close at 6PM). We FINALLY left CW at 815PM, 9 hours after getting there. I will say, so far the retail and service folks are good. BUT, the sales staff is discourteous/disrespectful/ ETC, they had my wife so pissed she was in tears. read more

I have never been treated this bad as a customer after purchasing a camper through Camping World. They lied when I purchased it on all of the features it had. It freezes up before it even gets down to 28 degrees. It is supposed to be good for 30 below 0. I take it in and I have to make an appointment, and they don't get it in for 18 days to even look at it. Then I told them to make sure it was plugged in because I live in this camper and have food in the refrigerator. When I went to get some stuff out, I got nothing but a raunchy smell because all of the food had defrosted and all they could say is they would look into it like it was my fault. They tried to give me excuses that they could not do any work until heard back about the warranty. I bought campers many times and have never had issues before. When I went in to check on it, they could not even find where it was. Here it was in their shop not plugged in. They said they could not plug it in when it was in the shop. Travis lies so bad that I don't know what to believe any more. I have had nothing but trouble since I purchased this camper from them. For as much as I paid for this camper I should have not have to put up with this much hassle. So if you are purchasing a camper, DO NOT PURCHASE it from Camping World. read more

Went to Camping World to see about getting a higher quality water filter since the iron is very high in content at the RV park I am staying. They recommended a particular brand for helping reducing the iron stains in my RV. When I installed it, the filter had drastically reduced my water flow inside my RV. I returned to Camping World with the filter and explained what had transpired. The parts Manager then explained with the better filter that it would reduce the water flow to your RV. I explained to him that he did not explain that part of the scenario when I purchase the new filter. He then again said that purchasing the higher quality filter would of course reduce the water flow. I again said he did not say at the time I purchased the filter anything about reducing the water flow to a unusable level. His next comment was "You don't have to get all PISSED off about it. His associate there (I believe his name was Hank, was privy to both the initial purchase transaction and the return of the filter transaction, and Hank knew their was no mention of the reduced water flow in the first transaction). I explained to the parts manage that he could keep his filter and started leaving the store. As I was leaving the store I passed Hank (?) and asked to see the manager and he said the guy I was dealing with was the manager. Hank then did the right thing and gave me a return of my money. I explained to Hank that I would never do business their again. Funny thing is I had been looking on their Website because I am in the market for a new RV. Sorry Mr. Parts Manager, you just cost Camping World a possible sell. And by the way, I'm going to tell everyone I come across in River Terrance RV Park of your unprofessionalism and out right rudeness to a customer. In fact, I'm going to make it my Airborne mission to tell everyone in Monticello of your actions.
