Flat on Thruway and our  Class 3 camper.

I drove cross country to visit families in the Central NY area and half the time our slide out would not operate so we had to climb over each other in the camper in the night. I had to keep replacing circuit breakers and relays and "limped" into Syracuse and started contacting RV repair shops. I have to give Camping world credit, they referred me to RV'sRUs and they took us in right away. They were able to diagnose the problem right away as a weak spring in the switch connected to the parking brake. this switch prevents the slide out from opening if you do not have the brake on. they ordered the switch and were able to replace it once the switch came in and it was (only) a couple hundred dollar repair. we had slo had a flat on the Thruway and this is where things got complicated. I authorized them to replace the tire and "check out the other tires. As it turns out they told me I needed all new tires. They proposed some replacement and gave me an estimate. As it turns out they were going to charge me 3 hours labor at $199 an hour to do the job! This seemed overkill to me and not even a routine "mounting and balancing charge". In any case I took our camper to Dunn Tire and they did all of the tire replacement for just the cost of the tires saving over$600 in the process. When I went to pay for the switch they wanted over $100 for the tire inspection!, in spite of a brochure offering "free tire inspections" on their counter. My wire saw the brochure and cited the offer and they did remove the charge but the intent was to charge me for a service that is normally free at most shops. So, it's a Luke warm experience at most dealing with them. See my review of Dunn Tire for a good experience!

Joe, Tom and some funny man with red converse were extremely friendly. After a long day of looking at RV's, we finally found our new rig! Joe helped us right away and made the trading of our pop up and buying of the new trailer super easy! We received a fair offer on the pop up and got show pricing for the trailer so we felt great about deal! Being that we are were from Rochester, Joe set us up with a time that worked well for us to pick up the trailer. Upon arrival, Joe greeted us with a friendly hello and introduced us to Tod, one of the service guys to give us an orientation. He was very thorough and willing to answer all of our questions as they came up. I did quite a bit of research but had plenty of questions we went along. He took the time to answer all of them and offered to us a number of times to call back if we had more. On closing, Joe had me sign a few papers. Gave me the keys and expressed well wishes. Tom walked us out, gave us a few directions home, warned us of maintaining a safe speed for tire ratings and also wished us well! A 5 star company, with 6 star people!

He simply kept working, working thru the repair until success was achieved . And he was supported by a very able team. The Burdicks treat their employees really well, serving complimentary breakfast and lunch once a week. Lyn told us he got his first raise 3 months after he started! The Burdick's customer service is what every business should strive for - friendly, professional, knowledgeable and caring. They care about their customers and employees. This place overflows with pride in their service.

My husband and I purchased an RV from Meyers during the Hershey RV Show in 2025. My husband has been a first responder for nearly 40 years, and during the sales process we were told that Meyers highly respects first responders and "takes care of them" by providing a $200 gift card to their facility. Because we live far from any Meyers location, we were specifically promised a $200 Visa gift card instead. We were told we would receive it when we picked up our RV. However, once all the paperwork was signed and we were ready to leave, there was suddenly no mention of the gift card. When we brought it up, they gave us a "WE OWE" form stating that a Visa gift card would be mailed directly to us. After waiting over a month and receiving nothing, I followed up multiple times. I spoke with our salesman, Tyler from NY, as well as a manager from the Pennsylvania location. Both repeatedly promised the card would be mailed. By January, I had enough. I called Tyler and told him that if the promised card was not sent by the end of February, I would leave an honest negative review about our experience. Surprisingly, within a week or two, we finally received a card -- but it was NOT a Visa gift card as promised. Instead, it was a Meyers gift card, which is essentially useless to us because of the distance to their locations. I am extremely disappointed with their customer service, the lack of honesty, and the way this situation was handled. We will NEVER purchase another RV from Meyers, and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone else. After reading many similar experiences online, it's clear we are not the only customers treated this way.

Our salesman Bill Kennedy, for starters, bleeds hard work and all around customer satisfaction. About a month or two ago we came in after visiting/being treated poorly by Camping World, Burdicks, and Gander Mountain. He spent approximately 2-3 hours just showing us different options and helped make our decision on what we liked. He has lots of knowledge and is out to make a sale but also to serve the customer and do what's best for the customer NOT just himself. We waited about a month and decided it was time. We couldn't make up our mind on which we liked better and Bill was so patient and understanding. He even came in on his day off (without letting us know it was his day off) just to make sure we were squared away. Finally we decided that a 2019 Coachmen Apex Ultra Lite was the one for us. He insured we got all of our wants including vent overs, back up camera etc. Today we received a top of the line walk through by their service guy. Ray. If you don't know Ray. You NEED TO KNOW RAY. He is the Albert Einstein of Campers. He knows them all inside and out. He gave us a solid hour to hour and a half of just slowly going through showing us what to do, how to do it, and the important pieces of information. Their was a running light out the day of pick up, totally a manufacturer fluke. Ray saw it, told us about it, and would not allow us to leave until he fixed it. Which he did. He was great. And said if you have ANY questions to call him up, and he will walk us through it. After our walk through of the camper, we got a walk through of the necessitates from Justin. He showed us what was necessary and what wasn't! He had our best interests in mind and insured that we were not just buying things for no reason. He gave us a great overview of things necessary. Overall, this was the best buying experience we have ever had. Out of cars, motorcycles, and many other large purchases such as our home. Hands down, the best. If you're new to the camper family or even a vet in it, GO TO WILKINS. Thank you for all of your hard work Bill, Ray, and Andy for always just being a welcoming face. -The Hurd's

Very disappointing experience with Wilkinson RV in Brewerton…read more We purchased a brand-new camper from Wilkinson RV, and the problems started before we even left with it. When we arrived to pick it up, we were told the microwave was defective. In my opinion, that should have been caught and corrected before the camper was ever sold or delivered to us. They removed the microwave and said a new one would be provided. We did eventually receive one, but the front faceplate was missing. Since we bought the camper in the fall, we winterized it, parked it inside, flushed it out, and checked things over before using it. Once spring came and we started getting ready for our first camping trip, we discovered more issues. The sink was only partially connected, nothing underneath seemed properly tightened, and the shower leaked inside. Some fittings also appeared to be over-tightened and started leaking as soon as we tried to use the camper. When we called and explained the situation, we ultimately decided to take it somewhere else to have the repairs done properly. That cost us about $1,000 out of pocket. This should have never happened after purchasing a brand new camper from them for over $25,000. Buying a brand-new camper should not come with this many issues right from the start. Lesson learned. We will never buy from Wilkinson RV again.

1 star because there is not a zero star button, Very disappointing experience yesterday, I made a…read moreappointment for 10:00. 3 days ago to look at a 5th wheel camper with Brendan, the sales guy I talked to him on the phone and he sent me pictures and everything of the camper and I was going to plan on buying it but when I got there at 10:00 we sat there for 15 minutes after driving a hour to get there just for him to tell me he sold it at 9:00 to the people sitting next to me, he didn't even have the decency to tell me he had someone else looking at it, then they were trying to talk me into buying another rv that was held together with duct tape under the slides and soft spots on the roof, absolute joke of a business. I would never recommend buying anything there

This is a letter written to Camping World of Syracuse after employees of that organization…read morecontinually called/texted/emailed us for 3 weeks after being told that we wanted nothing to do with them. You are now the 4th or 5th person from Camping World to reach out. As I've told everyone before you, there is nothing you can do to repair our experience with your organization, nor to help "navigate" us through another RV shopping journey. We purchased a camper from you. We specifically asked if this particular unit would hold resale value. We were told that it absolutely would. Three years later we've been offered 1/3 what we paid, the explanation given has to do with NADA values and such. In other words, contrary to what we were told, the camper didn't hold it's value. Oliver's Campers gave us the best trade-in offer, explaining that they were "going over & above to earn our business." An organization we had no prior relationship with made it a priority to "earn our business." That concept spoke to my wife and I. We do not intend on giving our future business to your organization, mainly because, you were not willing to go "over & above" to retain our business. As an example of our loyalty, we have not only bought 5 vehicles from Dovi Motors over the past 17 years, we have also recommended/brought friends & relatives there that have also bought multiple vehicles. We are loyal to those that we feel treat us fairly. We thank you for the education you have provided to us in our first, and now second, RV shopping journey. We will not soon forget this experience. I had an incredibly disappointing and suspicious experience with Northside Collision. My 2021 BMW…read moreX7 was sent here as part of a USAA claim, and the level of service was unacceptable. The front right side of the vehicle was damaged. First, after the vehicle sat at their shop for weeks, they admitted on December 23rd that they did not even have a technician available to work on my car and couldn't provide a start date because they hadn't even started disassembly. Second, the estimates provided by this shop were highly questionable. The estimate jumped from $20k to over $33k without any work being performed. Most concerning was that they included "damages" to tires and rims on the left side of my vehicle--a side that was never involved in the accident. When I sought a second opinion from a BMW certified shop, they confirmed that the "mechanical issues" (specifically a steering shaft replacement) Northside claimed were necessary were not supported by the test results. It felt as though this shop was working in tandem with the insurance company to inflate the estimate just enough to "total" the vehicle rather than repair it. Between the lack of staffing, the inconsistent communication from Marie, Christopher, the manager Nate, and the inaccurate damage reports, I would strongly caution anyone--especially those with luxury vehicles--against using this facility.

I went there to show them my windshield end of May it was leaking (they installed the windshield)…read moreso they made an appt for 3 weeks later to bring the car in appt was on Monday at 8am, it's now Wednesday & I have called twice to not have my calls returned and someone just told me they haven't even looked my car! Why did I need an appt then? And why can't anyone return a call?? Don't recommend this place!!
