And bustle of a fabulous mexican restaurant with amazing food and drinks on everyone's table but mine. Every single waiter ignored me like I had covid. Until VEGA came and saves me. He was very nice and attentive and extremely apologetic for everybody else's behavior. The mussels were fantastic. The oysters were delicious and the drinks were great and strong. The restaurant is quite large and beautiful, but they are so crowded and i'm extremely happy for them; however, they really need to bump up their customer service. They had many, many employees because they were all dressed perfectly with the uniforms and all are running and rushing around me. I think many times restaurants think just because I am alone that i'm not gonna spend as much money as the group next to me.But little do they know, I usually end up drinking and eating more than they do!!! This is an amazing casual seafood restaurant in the heart of Colonia Chapalita, a few steps away from the Jardín del Arte Glorieta Chapalita where artists display their works on weekends. I was there with a group on Sunday afternoon and the place was packed with lots of families, couples, friends, etc. We were started off with drinks (they have soft drinks, aguas frescas, coffee, and what appeared to be a full bar.) I got the limonada which was just perfect and served in a large metal glass. They also brought out complimentary tostadas, salsa, and pickled cucumber appetizers. The menu is quite extensive with all kinds of seafood. I chose the shrimp "zarandeados" (that literally translates as "shaken," but they seemed to be grilled), and served with grilled pineapple and a side of rice. It was way too generous a portion for me, so I could not eat it all ...though I wanted to! Delicious! All my party's entrees looked great. The service was excellent too. The restaurant has open sides as if it were a large covered patio, but they rolled down some clear plastic tent-like walls when the wind picked up as a storm came near. The atmosphere was fun and a bit loud. With all the noise it was just a bit hard for me to hear the conversation well at my table, but it was manageable. I recognized a few songs they were playing, hits from the '80's, some ABBA, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Whitney Houston... Nice! They have valet parking, which I recommend, as otherwise it may be difficult to find a spot during peak times. I will definitely return when I get the opportunity. read more

Somewhat of a mixed experience. They offer valet parking out front for 50 pesos. Upon reaching the entrance, they will offer you a complimentary coconut water freshly cut. Once sat down, they also provide complimentary bread, which was good but similar to a dinner roll with better presentation. Service started off well with our waiter being really attentive, but once we placed the order, we didn't see him again after that, which was a bit puzzling. The staff was friendly overall and will often interact with the kids to make them laugh. In term of food, the octopus was a little bit mushy, but the shrimp was done well. Coconut shrmp had a nice crunch and the seafood pasta was solid, but not particularly outstanding. It was a good experience, but I think you are paying more for the ambiance than the food. read more

This is one of the weirdest restaurants I've ever been to. The fresh seafood displayed as you enter, and the woken basket chandeliers makes you think of a fine dining establishment but the techno Adele blaring on infinite large screen televisions makes you feel like you're in Chilis or Applebees. Our reservation instructions stated my allergy to bananas and when we sat down we said as much to the server. However my dinner had bananas on it. And I'm pretty sure they just took it back and removed the bananas and brought the plate back out as is which kind of ruined the dish for me. The apps were delicious though- the tuna carpaccio was sublime and the chocolate clams were amazing. There was too much bustling by all the waiters that makes it hard to relax and I heard at least 3 glasses break at dinner. It feels like the owner envisioned an upscale fine dining establishment and then hired all the waiters from McDonald's. Bottom line, expect finesse in the food prep but not in the service or ambiance. read more

We had a very disappointing experience at Campomar in La Perla. We first tried to make a reservation by phone, but no one ever answered. When we arrived, we were told the wait would be under an hour, yet we ended up waiting over 90 minutes. From the beginning, we mentioned that we had a small dog with us, but no one informed us this could cause an additional delay. After receiving a message that our table was ready, we were surprised to see more than ten parties seated before us. When we asked the host (Montse), she explained--without much courtesy--that because of the dog we had to wait longer. This should have been communicated upfront, not after nearly two hours. Furthermore, it is common in restaurants of this level to offer at least water or a courtesy drink during extended waits, but nothing was offered to us. Lastly, when I asked for the direct contact of the manager, the host simply replied that they "did not have it," which was very disappointing. In the end, after almost two hours of waiting, we decided to leave and go to one of the many other restaurants available in the area. What could have been a pleasant dining experience was overshadowed by poor communication, lack of hospitality, and unprofessional service. read more

I have been a few times and the food has always been delicious and the portions really big. It's a seafood restaurant so needless to say, go with anything from the sea here. I really don't think you can go wrong. Now for the not so good. The service is just not it. I noticed that a lot of the staff are on the younger side and because of that they seem to care more about socializing with each other than being more attentive to their guests. On several occasions I've needed or requested service and our server was nowhere to be found or the servers have been not so friendly. I am from Vegas and perhaps my standard for service is high for the more laid back chill vibes of PV. I've overlooked what I think to be only ok service because the food is so good. So I still recommend this restaurant, I say just don't be too expectant on amazing service. read more

I highly encourage you to order the shrimp ceviche, it was fantastic. Here is where this restaurant needs work: We must have seem 5 waiters on average. Our entrées were not delivered at the same time. In fact, 15 minutes a part. I know it cannot be customary in Mexico for all guests to not receive their main entrees at the same time. When we ordered dessert to go, it took them15 minutes to package it up. When we asked for our bill, that took another 20 minutes.
