Vinson was my main PT, and was very attentive with any issues I was having during my recovery. He always adjusted my exercises and stretches as needed and was very adamant on getting me healed up as quickly as possible. He knew when to push me and when to let off the gas. Aaron was also amazing. He always had jokes and we ended up talking about common interests throughout my time there, making my PT visits seem more like hanging out with a friend. He was also extremely attentive and always told me when I was going too hard on the bike! Lastly, the receptionists were very personable and knowledgeable. With this being my first big injury and first time at PT, they made my experience super easy and accommodating, explaining medical benefits when I had questions and always reminding me of my appointments. Overall, I would highly recommend POA. Of course I hope no one has to go, but if you do, just know that you are in great hands!

They helped me nurse my shoulder back to HEALTH. They were very professional friendly and caring about how they treated my SHOULDER. I couldn't have asked for a better set of therapist. The facility had everything you needed for your therapy. I liked the way it was nice and clean my man Jordan made sure everything was nice and clean Good job Jordan keep up the good work. Now the receptionist crew Janet was super great Her and her crew did a wonderful job. They are the first ones you see when you first walk into the facility they greet you with a smile they're very courteous and professional. It just makes you feel great when you walk in there for your PHYSICAL THERAPY. I appreciate you guys so much, here's to Continue doing a great job.

Lots of equipment, I find the TRX helpful. Susan is able to loosen up my shoulder and I am enjoying more mobility and less "clunking",. My range of motion has improved too. I came in August for hip pain and numbness and discoveredI had an uneven gait and general weakness along with the pain. Susan was able to help me improve me posture and increase my strength/balance. The next month we worked on my left shoulder which was locking up and the exercises & stretching we do really help! I am thrilled to be improving and very hopeful to recover completely (no surgery or shots needed)! I still do have pain but there is so much improvement! this also helps my balance and stability. I have convinced my husband to come and he is also improving his gait, strength and managing pain too! I haven't tried this yet, but a large therapy pool (warm water) is available for an additional fee at this center. Located upstairs from the Planet Fitness Gym (not affiliated) this Sports Medicine clinic is Wonderful.

I thought I lifted it correctly as I've done something similar so many of times, but shortly after I started feeling tightness on my lower back. My initial thought was to do some stretches hoping to alleviate the soreness, but it kept getting worse. After a very uncomfortable weekend and my condition that was not getting better, I decided to give Dr Joe a visit. He did some adjustments and helped educate me on the stretches I should have been doing and explained the stretches I did do may have actually made my condition worse. None the less, Dr Joe worked his magic, performed some adjustments that gave me almost instant relief, then taught me the correct stretches to do moving forward. He also sent me videos to watch that helped remind me of them. I'm 2 visits in and looking forward to the upcoming sessions on my road to recovery. Thanks again Dr Joe for all you did to help me in my time of need. I'm looking forward to his next steps for me and my recovery! I had a pretty bad high ankle sprain back in January 2025 from rolling it on a teammates foot, no…read morefractures found in X-ray--I was non-weight bearing, on a knee scooter, into a boot, and progressed to walking into a shoe with minimal guidance from friends who are PTs. I was back to exercising regularly and playing volleyball in March. It wasn't until May that I found out I had a hairline fracture and bone bruising through MRI because I was still complaining about pain. I was told by the orthopedic doctors and a podiatrist that I needed surgery for my ankle, but I ultimately didn't want to do that. I didn't like any of the PTs that were in my area and in-network. I found Dr. Jay by chance--a simple yelp search and I found out he was walking distance from me. I dm'd him, back in December, my history and asked if surgery was the only way to go, and he responded pretty quickly that he's had the same injury and was able to get back into sports without going under the knife. After talking to Dr. Jay via zoom, I was convinced that he was gonna be the one to help me regain strength and mobility in my ankle. Dr. Jay is very knowledgeable, he'll breakdown the anatomy and physiology so you know what's happening with your body, and he'll teach you the right mechanics for the exercises. He also went over types of shoes I should be wearing during different types of exercises which is important because the shoes I wore were affecting my ankle and foot mobility. Dr. Jay doesn't just treat the symptom, he treats you as a whole because everything in the end is all connected. Dr. Jay will create workout routines that are suitable for you, and will tailor it based on your needs, such as what gym you go to/equipment you have. Send videos and updates on your workouts/daily activities so you can get his feedback, and he can tweak exercises/give you tips on what you can do in those exercises to reduce pain. One thing I needed to learn was that I didn't have the same capacity for load as I did pre-injury, and that I needed to not overdo it on exercises even though, mentally, I felt like I could do more. "When strain exceeds capacity, leads to negative adaptations. When strain stays right below capacity, positive adaptations. Learn through mistakes, and learn quickly on how to find the right amount." I'm very hard on myself, especially when training declined due to illness, holidays, vacations, and or pain (due to overloading/wearing too rigid shoes). Dr. Jay stayed positive and continued to encourage me. He reminded me that we are not perfect, and it is okay to take breaks. Dr. Jay's program gave me the structure, guidance, and motivation I needed to get back to running and jumping without fear. He's helped me gain the knowledge and confidence to get back on the court. Will definitely recommend Dr. Jay to anyone I know who's dealing with chronic pain and willing to put in the work!

I started working with Dr. Jay this summer after having recurring shoulder pain following a…read moresnowboarding fall. Despite shifting to lower impact workouts for months and having weekly acupuncture appointments I kept reinjuirng it. It was keeping me from my favorite activity, surfing, and I was feeling mentally and physically frustrated. After my first session with Dr. Jay, I learned I had weak lats (common for those of us with desk jobs) and he gave me a mobility routine that quickly lessened my discomfort. After starting my custom strength training routine the pain and annoyance went away entirely and I was back surfing about 5 weeks later. Dr. Jay did an amazing job of not only tailoring a routine to my needs and the activities I love, but he explained why each one was helpful for my body and my goals. He was always available if I had any questions or if I needed him to give me a more detailed breakdowns of the exercises. He was also great about education; if my shoulder or neck is feeling pinchy or off, I now know exactly what I need to do to feel better. You just have to be ready to put in the work! I am about to hit my mid-thirties and I am grateful to have a go to strength training routine. I feel better than ever. I highly recommend Dr. Jay if you're coming back from an injury or looking for a professional to help you reach your fitness goals. My only regret is not contacting him sooner!

Since the workshop, I have been mindful of engaging those muscles and doing the prescribed exercise at home. My form is SO MUCH BETTER and for the first time I feel like a smooth, efficient runner! I think my poor running form was stemming from non-engagement of the pelvic floor area. I am also kickboxer and my kicks are so much more fluid and controlled now - the pain from kicking in my right hip is going away. I truly feel very lucky to have learned about how the pelvic floor area is an important strength and stabilizing component for athletes!

Immediately, I found her to be very personable, very caring, extremely attentive to my needs and super sharp. Not only did Jen quickly relieve the tension around my shoulder during our sessions and suggest a very helpful ergonomic assessment at my job, she also gave me a comprehensive home exercise program. It was easy to do every day, and we adjusted it to work even better for me as we progressed. Jen gave me an awesome pelvic health strengthening program, as well. After 6 months of working with Jen (including a month of rest due to severe flu), it was a night and day difference. My shoulder regained its full function and both of my arms are stronger than ever! And my core muscles are also in great shape. These exercises are something I will continue to do for life. Update: Owner called back right away, took my concern seriously and sounds like she's on top of things, so the extra star is for her. Fortunately, I found another PT place in the same neighborhood and spoke to a much more pleasant and professional receptionist on the phone, so I won't have to worry about seeing whoever I spoke to at Ocean again.
