I had my cap installed 10/17/2025. Along with that I had a slide installed in the bed. A bunch of other stuff, basically about $7800. Paid in full. When I came to get my truck they told them the back door doesn't fit. It doesn't go down all the way to the tail gate. So I can't secure the back because I can open the tail gate. With the slide, a person can easily open the tail gate and pull the slide out and take everything. The slide makes it easy for them to remove all my stuff. I wasn't told about this until after the camper was installed. No options other than for them to install the camper and make me wait for the back door. It is 2 months later and not a single call. I called a couple days ago and was told they would email the factory to get the status of my new door. I heard nothing back for 2 days so I called ARE the factory. They said they can't talk to me that Campways is the only one that they will talk to. Makes sense to me. I asked Campways for a refund, this way they will have some skin in the game. If I still owed on this purchase they would be checking with the factory and contacting me. They offered nothing. So two months out and I still can use my truck. I mentioned to Parker the owner that without a refund that I'd put a claim in the BofA to see if they would investigate and get me a refund. Having the Bank investigate it is a good thing. They may or may not think I have an issue, and we will see what happens. read more

Walked into Campway's on a Wednesday afternoon looking for new running boards for my 2008 Chevy Silverado. I was greeted and helped by Aaron. He showed me which styles were available and how much they would be . I went with a set that would take a few days to arrive so I agreed to put a $100 deposit down and return Monday. Aaron encouraged me to call Monday around noon to confirm the 1pm appointment time. Come Monday I call at 11:10am but lines are full so I left a message and waited for a call back. Eventually around 12:48, as I'm at lunch with my mom, I get through and Aaron answers and lets me know that the parts arrived and I could come in. I get into the shop around 1:30, leave my keys with Aaron and begin waiting in the lobby area they have. The installation took 2 hours. There were a couple people before me and Aaron was also the only guy working the counter. I was impressed with how great the installation looks and I'm loving the new look it gives my truck. They've got high quality items here and if my parts hold up I will definitely be back again. read more

Spent $5k at Campways for a snug top. When I picked it up there was a big paint run on the roof. They took it off and sent it back to Mexico to repaint it. Took 6 weeks to get it back. When they took it off I noticed that they put a dent near the back window. Btw my truck wasn't even a month old when I bought the shell and there were no dents at all anywhere when I brought it in. They also ruined the bed rail by over tightening the hold down clamps. When I got the shell back it looked like it either fell or something fell on it and ruined the rack, so they had to then replace the bars. Then during the install, for some reason they drilled new holes to mount it? Theirs a huge gap between the window and shell so lots of water gets in and when it rains there is a leak on the roof. Also the rubber seal on the window was falling off, they told me it was under warranty, but when it came in they installed a much thinner version and changed me for it. I also discovered that the usb outlet wasn't working in the back but that was an install error. Not sure if any of the other shells are better but I'll never buy another Snug top! Did I mention I spent $5k for this mess! read more

My 23 year old Snug Top(purchased at Campway's in 2002) needed new hinges, so off to Campway's to have it repaired. The job didn't take long, so after purchasing the kit, the guys at Campways did the job within 15 minutes and sent me on my way with minimal to no labor charge. I'm not sure what else I would expect from this job. Thanks for organizing my repair, having the paperwork and materials ready to go when I arrived, and making sure the window was clear and clean when we left. Nice work! read more

I was a bit apprehensive about making a purchase at this Campway's location given some of the reviews. But I still decided to purchase a Leer 100XR for my Tacoma from this location. I'm happy I made the decision. I only waited a 1.5 weeks for them to have the camper shell shipped over from one of their Bay Area stores. They do have some inventory on site in Sacramento, but it's limited. Install took approx. an hour and 20 mins., though they told me it'd take two hours. (The installation was scheduled for the day after arrival.) I was definitely impressed with the end result. Pricing was aligned with the local market, but I definitely got the camper shell quicker, here, than I would've at some other stores in the area that just send your order to the Leer factory (in Woodland). Service was solid. Aaron and Olga were pleasant and attentive. I appreciated their help throughout the process. I'll definitely be back here for some other accessories. read more

Just drove all the way from Reno, NV to purchase a utility trailer from these guys. It was well worth the drive. Their service was friendly and approachable. We had called earlier in the week and were given a price. When we arrived we looked at a couple do their options and settled on the one we had called about earlier. The price was spot on for their over the phone quote. The paperwork was processed quickly and the trailer was brought out to us in a timely manner. Their lot is clean and free of weeds unlike most of the options we have here in Northern Nevada. Their store was very clean and well organized too. I can't say enough good things about this place and the empty, especially Aaron. First class work and excellent customer service. They installed a Decked bed storage system, a customized SnugTop shell , and front & back seat covers on one of my trucks. The prices were fair and the work done extremely well. I loved that truck! Alas, I had to get rid of it a short time later. They actually sold my shell and Decked bed storage system on consignment. A short time later, I got another new truck. Of course, I got the same equipment installed on it as my last truck and had the same great experience with Campway's in Sacramento. After reading all the reviews for this business, I felt the need to add mine. I really wanted to like this Campway's and I'm giving one star because the manager David showed some form of a teeny tiny bit of integrity when he lowered the charge. He denied any damages caused by his people of installing the spray-in bed liner. Total denial and a total liar. I'm retired and worked in an industry detecting liars. He's one. If you're going to order and not have anything installed then you're probably safe (with a few exceptions - read other reviews). Most of the products sold here are quality products, but avoid this place and go elsewhere. ESPECIALLY for spray-in bed liners. Go and get Line-X instead from a reputable Line-X installer. Line-X is a little more expensive, but the quality and workmanship of the installers is beyond your wildest imagination. I'd have to agree with all the negative reviews this business received. Most of the positive reviews were people that ordered their items and left. I wish I had read these reviews prior to doing business with them. As one reviewer said, run run run and keep running. The latch on my Snug Top tonneau cover was loose and not locking. Gabe too k a look at it and said it had a loose bolt and a missing screw. He drove it back to the shop, fixed it, and returned the truck in 15 minutes. Didn't charge me a dime for it. That's why I keep going to Campways for over20 years or so. read more

I bought a century camper shell and 1 year later it is falling apart. I called to get multiple parts replaced and the guy says bring it in and we will get the parts ordered. He takes my name on a post it note to call me back when he finds out how much the parts will be and when they will be in. No one calls me back. I call a week later and he says he lost my info but he didn't call me back because he didn't hear back from the parts company. I give him my info again. No call back. read more

Do not bring anything of value here. They've ruined my entire $80k trucks carfax history, voided my trucks entire 100k mile warranty and my 60k mile warranty all before 3k miles were even driven on the truck. I brought my brand new 2022 tundra here with only 2,500 miles on it for a camper shell. Was quoted a 3 month wait for the shell, along with a $1,000 deposit, (roughly $3500 total). After waiting 5 months I was called and told it's ready and to bring it in on a Friday. I get there at about 2, drop my truck off then leave and they called me to come back around 5, (mind you they close at about 5). First thing the guy did when he pulled my truck around us floor it like he's never driven a brand new truck before. That's not something any customer wants to have done to their brand new truck let alone with it only having 2,500 miles. I notice on the walk around is the shell isn't even bolted down. Literally hand tightened so I point it out telling them to the whole shell would've flown off had I not noticed it's not even bolted down. Then I see a zip tie poking out under my left brake light and under the zip tights are a solid 7 extremely deep scratches. Then I come to find out they didn't even wire it at all meaning I'd be leaving without a 3rd brake light. Told me come back next week and it'll get fixed. As I left I realized I now have 0 audio of any sort. No AM/FM, no radio, no audio when someone calls me. No maps audio, literally no audio at all and I have no one to blame but the people to touch it last especially with it only having 2500 miles. I come back Monday and the manager wants to argue with me profoundly defending the fact they did nothing to damage my vehicle. So I brought it back and told them I want to see everything they did to my truck. Show me every wire you were near, every single area of my truck you were in I need to know. Couldn't find out what the problem was so then I took it to Toyota and Toyota found out the issue was wires were tampered with and cut. They diagnosed the issue, replaced the now blown amplifier ($3k part) and now have a bill for all this labor and damage they fixed which they're looking at me to pay because I'm the owner of the truck. I told the "Dave" the extremely argumentative manager he needed to pay for the damages and he continued to argue back and forth until I threatened him with lawyers and explaining all the video evidence I have of the damages he finally verbally agreed to pay for the damages. Well that was 2 months ago and this weekend Miata toyota called me saying this business has been ignoring their calls and they haven't gotten any payment. I would fall liable for the 4k total bill if this business doesn't pay so I again call and threaten with lawyers yet again and finally they have agreed and given all the information to Toyota to pay their dues. Because of the tampering they've done to my wire hardness, Toyota has voided my trucks warranty until I have a brand new wire harness installed and paid for my the camper shell people which is an additional 4k roughly. Overall this has been nothing but extreme amounts of stress. I drove my brand new truck for 2 months without a 3rd brake light and this business could careless the amount of danger that places me and my pregnant gf in when traveling in this vehicle. read more

RUN RUN RUN!!!! This review is by my husband: I can't tell you how disappointed I was to buy a LEER Camper shell from this business. I had owned my last LEER shell for almost 30 years and sold the truck with it. I wanted to purchase another LEER shell for my new GMC, so I decided to go with Campway, since it was just relatively close to home. I should of read the reviews first but just assumed, how could anyone go wrong this way. I bought the shell and was told that it would take 6-8 weeks to receive. They called when it came in. We then made an appointment to install it about two weeks after it was in. The appointment was made for 1:30 9/20 in the afternoon. After waiting almost 2 hours for the install, I asked how much longer, they said we haven't even started on it. "Thats the way it goes in this business", Dave the manager said! "You could have told me to leave it in the morning I said"! "There was only one man in the shop" he said. We had made an appointment, but he really was not apologetic, and said bring it back on Monday October 4th at 9:00, (2 weeks later) and we'll get it done first thing.....I knew better this time and left the truck there and got picked up. By 2:00 they finished it and on inspection, the shell was misaligned by 1/2" on one side, anyone could have seen this, surely the installer. They told me to just leave it and they would correct it!!!" "No, I'll do it right myself, give me the keys" I said. Dave the manager rudely called me a difficult customer, which flared my nostrils. We were super excited to order and get our camper shell! We actually ordered it over the phone with the help of Randy who was super helpful and knowledgeable. Great experience ordering it. We made an appointment to pick up. I had no idea it would take two hrs to install so I waited and when it was done they asked me if o wanted a copy of my receipt. I said no. They handed me the keys. I go out, close the hatch glance at it... looks great. Hop in and drive home. Get out and look over it again and notice scratches on the outside ofbed of my truck that were not there when I brought my truck in. I know that for a fact because I hand washed it the day before. Look and check interior light and it doesn't work at all. Despite a quality check sticker right on inside of door of camper shell. Also notice a sharp piece of fiberglass sticking down. It was small but I initially had thought it was a screw sticking down but there's no screws in the roof I am told. It was just fiberglass. Ok not a big deal. I come back the following day 115 the to pick up a truck bed mat I had ordered They said they didn't have anyone to look at it. Plus I come back at three. I said I live an hr away. So they said they would try and get me in sooner. I showed them the scratches... he said it couldn't have happened by them because they use a lift to place it. Ok... but techs were all over my truck during installation and it is possible. But I let it go and point out as well how the light never worked. He tries to turn it on without success and looks at fiberglass. Says they will fix light and sand down fiberglass sharp part. They came and got my keys at 310. It's now an hr later. I'm sitting in their waiting room and had no idea it would take this long or I would not have come. I missed an afternoon appt. They keep telling me it's almost done. Granted they've all been friendly but Geezuuus... so they not value our time? Now I'm going to be stuck in rush hour traffic and have spent all day here. Update I forgot to hit post. So they said it was a fuse. So I waited all day for a fuse to be changed? You took my truck back at 310 and it took them an hr and a half to change a fuse?!!! I think they just park your truck back there and make you think they are working on it. Cmon guys you can do better. We would have spent A FORTUNE HERE! And definitely would have been return customers had we been treated better. I took so many pictures of stuff we were interested in possibly getting but we will look elsewhere Again front desk people were friendly and professional. Randy and Aaron. I had a rackit headache rack installed. I dropped off when they opened and waited until 3:00. Was supposed to be done at noon. Updates were sparse and unhelpful. They reinstalled my tonneau cover askew. I was able to work from the office using my own Wi-Fi. Final product turned out good but paying full price, taking twice as long as promised. I purchased an RSI Smartcap here a few months ago- delivery was quick, only a few days, there wasn't a markup, and they're one of the only local distributors for RSI. They assembled and installed it, so far so good. A square nut was missing from one of the roof rack rails right off the bat, but Campways did contact RSI who sent me a new one for free- they're stainless steel, and pricey. I went on an offroad trip a few weeks later, and the shell slid back on the bed rails every day from vibrations on the trail. Had to spend time in camp every morning moving the shell forward and clamping it down again. Not a huge deal, and not unheard of. When I came back from the trip after Thanksgiving, they were nice enough to comp me new API clamps for the shell- the ones that came from RSI are garbage. A couple weeks go by, and my clamps come in. I pick them up, but it's only a set of 4- the shell came with 6. This was a month ago, I call in each week to see if the new ones are here, and no luck- they're not here, or I never get a call back. I have another trip coming up, so I found the same API clamps on Amazon for $42 and ordered them. When I removed the shell this week to replace the bed rail caps (which were damaged by the shell moving), I found two things- they ran the wiring for the brake light under the factory bed rail cap so the entire weight of the shell was sitting on it- it was doomed to eventually fail- and the weatherstripping was nowhere close to adequate. I don't expect it to be perfectly water/dust proof, but there were huge gaps, the foam wasn't big enough to actually compress, and the bulb seal from the factory doesn't do anything to actually seal. This isn't entirely Campways fault (RSI also to blame), but it was immediately obvious to me. So I have to spend a couple hundred bucks of my own money to replace all of the seals and clamps, and a couple of hours, after paying for an install. Not what I would expect from spending thousands on this shell- very little attention to detail or care displayed on the install. I hate being that difficult/needy customer, but this is super disappointing and frustrating. I can't recommend Campways to anyone, and will be sure to warn others on forums. After seeing other reviews here, it definitely seems to be a trend. read more

My experience was solid. Communicated with the manager David about a Tonneau and BedRug over e-mail, got it ordered, scheduled installation. He answered my questions in detail and made sure that I had everything I needed. Spent time waiting for installation to complete and I can attest that everyone in the store works hard to get things done for the customer. I just bought an old 4x4 that came with the same era (2000) camper shell. I was fixing all the little things you have to on a 17 year old truck and suddenly realized the shell clamps were missing on one side. The shell was mostly secure, but I didn't want to leave anything to chance. I went to Campway and asked if they had replacement clamps. When I told them it was a Carryboy, they were like "whoa, another Carryboy. what are the odds?" Seems they just had another truck with the same-ish era Carryboy. The bad news is these aren't even sold in the U.S. anymore and impossible to find parts. They delivered the bad news the struts I had already bought wouldn't work and I likely wouldn't find any that would. They looked at the clamps that were on the shell and shook their head and said they didn't have anything. They were kind of geeking out on the shell though since it has features most other brands don't. It was during this time that one of them said an aluminum clamp they had might work. At that, they go in the back and come out with clamps that were definitely different than what I had but a few minutes later had them secured on the truck. The damage? $14 Small purchase that was hardly worth their time, but they went out of their way to help me. Pleasant to deal with and obviously know their stuff (anybody that geeks out about camper shells is exactly the type of people you want to buy your shell from). I will be back. read more

Waited four hours for our camper to be put on. Was told that I could bring it back after 3 months for a "complementary" tightening of the bolts. We didn't go back for the complimentary tightening of the bolts since we paid so much, we assumed they did a good job (since it took so long as well). More than 3 months later, the camper moved and scratched our truck. Went back and they said it was "required" to be brought back. We could tighten the bolts ourselves at home, just saying that it's been less than 6 months and the camper moved. Won't be doing business with this place again. The time and money spent here, go somewhere else. We wish we had read the reviews before hand as well. We weren't the only ones that had this problem. read more

I bought a Leer tonneau cover from Campway some years back. I needed to replace two of the latches that had been broken off by my kids. The guy there (didn't even get his name) walked out looked at the cover, asked for my keys, installed the latches in about 10 minutes. I asked how much I owned him. He said not a thing, it's covered by your warrantee. Wow!!!!,I remember the first time my wife and I stopped in at this store looking for a cover, customer service back then was 1st. rate. Came here on Monday to try and get running boards for the truck. Well let's see everything was okay, prices are a bit high. So the guy helped us ordered the part. Said it was gonna be here in a week or two maybe longer. Okay that's fine. The next day my father got a call saying the part is in. And to come in to get it done. So me and my mother went to get it done. So we got there and they said it would take an hour maybe longer. That's fine. So about almost an hour in the guy walks and I asked if he can check on that status of our truck. So he came back maybe 10-15 mins later? And tell us he's sorry, that the part doesn't fit on the truck.. that's when I'm pissed. I been sitting here for an hour. It took you guys a WHOLE HOUR! To tell us that the part doesn't fit. I understand 14 mins. Mind you we were the only one on the store. So I don't think it could of been that busy. I'm sorry but i wouldn't be so irritated if it was 15 mins in and you tell me the part doesn't fit. But a whole hour. On top of that. The guy said he would have to order a new part because the other one was too short. Well I mean we already put a deposit of 300 down. We don't really have a choice but to say yeah we will wait.
