Place is clean and stocked most of the time, but they force all customers to leave their bags at the front desk. The front desk has no secured area for bags and people literally just throw them in an open corner by the entrance, and there is no vetting process from staff to confirm that people are taking the right bags. It's laughable that this remote suburban location is roleplaying as the TSA when other branches that see more vagrancy in their areas, such as downtown and Marlborough, don't even do this. Unless this location has a dedicated coat/bag check process, it's just trouble waiting to happen. One day some innocent soul is going to have their bag or its contents stolen, and the store better be ready to take full responsibility! Instead of making a simple product return transaction to a Triangle Mastercard client they have accused me in lying and refused to accept the product, which was in the original packaging, unused, and purchased just a day ago with Triangle Mastercard. Basically, in simple terms, in front of other shoppers I was asked to leave the store! I've never felt so embarrassed and humiliated in my life! This review is just a beginning! There are plenty of options available to make this store known for their unbelievably horrible service! I'll keep the product they have refused to accept for evidence and will take it for an assessment to another store. I strongly suggest the corporate relations department to pay a closer look to a proper training and a smarter head-hunting of their managers! Bunch of CLUELESS MORONS!! Came here to fix a braking noise on my car on October 1st they told me it was my parking brake wasn't adjusted properly after i changed all my brake pads and rotors at a different shop. So they charged me $180 to adjust it. 10 minutes in driving the noise came back! So i went back and told them they did not fix the isshe. So they took my car back again and i waited 2 days for them will no call updates. When i called them on October 3rd they have told me they are waiting for me to do a driving test with a mechanic Without informing me about it. So i went to do a driving test and the mechanic told me ge drove the car yesterday and he noticed a sound that he said was comings from my rear dif. WHAT A IDIOT! He also informed me he drove the car for more then 30 minutes the other day. We cane back and they tried to charge me for another inspection. So i said no took the car back home and sure enough my parking brake wasn't adjusted PROPERLY. so i did it my self and now i have no issues. Having severe breathing problems I was exempt from wearing a mask by the doctor. Nevertheless at the entrance I was chased, intimidated and almost forced into wearing a mask by Canadian tire employee. She forced me to answer personal questions and made fun of me when I was leaving the store. It felt really humiliating. Obviously neither the store administration nor it's employees even bothered to read the Canada-wide laws set out by Ottawa and have no ethical approach towards their customers. Made an appointment with the service station since one of my back tires needed to be looked at. Checked in when I arrived and provided them the keys. I was advised that they would look at my back tire that was giving me problems as well as do a diagnostic on the rest - just in case. Advised they would call me with what they find and let me know what the repair costs would be if anything. 25 minutes later, called to let me know I had a small leak in the tire and they would patch it up. No need to replace the tire. Also advised me that all my other tires were great after running a diagnostic. I can come back in an hour to the service station to pick up my vehicle. Quick and easy. When I returned, the counter person had my file and explained everything to me on my repaired tire as well as the amount of air on my other tires had. All were great. Ready to go. He even let me know if there was any problem with the patch in the next few days, since it was a small one done, just to bring the vehicle back and they would fix it up at no charge. He didn't for see this happening since it was such a small patch done, but just in case it does, bring the car back. Paid, which was very minimal and so glad since I thought it would be an arm and leg for this repaired tire. Great service from the staff and my tire is as good as new. Thank you. read more

What's the point of an appointment. I had scheduled an appointment at 9 AM for a tire swap. One hour into my appointment I get a phone call saying my tires are 22 inches and require an up charge of $10 per rim and they haven't even started yet. Fair enough I said continue. Fast forward three hours later with a total bill of $206. Ouch. I love Canadian tire but I do not like spending half my day here. Took my Buick into Canadian tire Beacon Hill in March because the low coolant light was going on and off This is august. they had my car all day and at the end of the day charge me $900 so I drove it home put it in the garage. drove it the other day the light is still going on and off so I took it back to Beacon Hill Canadian tire and was told it's over 90 days. if the sensor is defective it would be covered however the labour is not. what? DO NOT GO HERE FOR A CAR BATTERY! I purchased a $320 AGM battery that only lasted 7 months. I tried recharging it at home over 2 days, and it would not take a charge. I took it in for replacement (it has a 5-year warranty) and was told it would take 2 days for them to try to recharge it. I said fine, I'll come back in 2 days. When I come back, surprise, surprise, the battery might be charging, but it's still not done. I said there's obviously something wrong with the battery, as a smart charger shouldn't take more than 2 days; I just want a replacement battery, as I don't want to keep having to come back! The manager comes over and says she can't help me, I'll have to wait to hear from the general manager, who is not around. This is 5 days that I'm without a car now, but do they care?? Customer service is something they've never heard of, apparently. The store is great. It's the auto service that needs immediate attention. Canadian Tire charged me the exact same that the BMW dealership would have, so there is absolutely NO savings by trying to avoid dealer mark-up! The evening Auto Service staff rolled their eyes and shook their head in derision when I arrived 10 minutes after they called then announced I was here to pickup the black BMW. He then asked, clearly annoyed, what my last name was. I came in for an o2 sensor install. This took 3 days, and ended up in me driving to BMW to get the correct part for Canadian Tire was completely inept in the ability to do this on their own in a timely fashion. They make one minimized effort on your car each day, then leave it for the next rather than follow-up with parts judiciously. Throughout all the chaos... Canadian Tire refused to keep me in the loop as to what was going on with my vehicle. I would wait the entire day then call around 5pm for an update, only to here the blame game that BMW was sending them the incorrect part. The mechanic didn't think to remove the old part and use that part number to acquire a new part... so it was a back and forth guessing game that took several days rather than an hour. Today I had another stock person basically ignore me and it took some detective work on solely my part to discover that a sale product was not in stock. The general store is fine and the products are almost always stocked.. The auto department, however, needs a serious makeover. I brought my car in for an out of province inspection, and I had a couple of things wrong. serpentine belt, check engine code, brake pads and rotors needed replacing, and one strut was leaking oil. Being an Aircraft mechanic myself, I don't trust anyone fixing my things, so I fixed them myself. serpentine belt took 20 minutes, the check engine code was nothing serious so cleared that (hasn't come back since)The brake pads and rotors were brand new with a tiny little bit of rust on them and the strut was wet because it was snowing outside and water got under the boot. In the end, I didn't have to replace (anything except the belt) and was quite upset at the mechanics who think they can get away with big ticket item replacement just to drum up business. read more

When I went to this Canadian Tire I had to ask 3 different people directions to what I was looking for an not one of them helped me. This was the only location I got oil changes done at. One day after an oil change I go to check the oil level and the entire dipstick assembly comes out. on closer inspection it was clearly snapped off, and would have had to be done rather aggressively. I go to the manager to see what they're willing to offer and basically get told no no no wasn't us. I then request to see the video surveillance footage they have in the bays. "okay no problem we will get the footage they say." Four months go by and despite repeated follow-ups it took that long for them to tell me the camera footage mysteriously disappeared. So now, went to a toyota dealership and the cost to replace what these "mechanics" obviously caused was $250...not happy. I wouldn't trust these guys to put air in my tire anymore let alone anything major. You have been warned! read more

I went to Canadian Tire September 9, 2020 around 4 pm to get a engine air filter and a interior air filter for my 2006 Toyota Sienna. I looked up the number on their electronic system for both. It said there were 11 in stock. The filters are not arranged in number order so you have to look at every filter. I couldn't find the filter so I waited in line to ask the one person they had working on the parts desk. I asked him for the filter and he looked up the correct number which was different than the one on the system by the filters. He told me they had just came in and went to look for them. I went back to the filters on the shelf going through each filter to find the filter. There was one on the shelf. I googled my vehicle with fram filters and made sure the new filter was correct. Then I looked up the cabin air filter and it showed 2 filters for my vehicle so I started the process of looking at each filter as they are not in number order either. I found them both and they are different sizes. So back to google and the fram site and found the correct number and 45 minutes at the store for 2 filters. I will go tho a different location next time I need something from Canadian Tire. Never Beacon Hill location again for anything. read more

I had a couple issues with them - I've changed my car oil and filter 3 times there but the 3rd time the damaged filter holder and made me to $600 extra. - Last winter (2016) I ordered a set of winter tire, they showed me tires date of manufacturing was 2016, but after installation and once I got home I checked and saw manufacturing date was 2015. - I made an appointment to change transmission oil, the person behind the line said they have everything to do this, after I go there they kept me waiting about 20 minutes and after that service department staff came to me and said we don't have enough equipment to change your car transmission oil. Bring my car in for simple oil change and season tire change, end up they brought up many parts that needed to be repaired and fixed. Total bill make my heart beaten to the roof. The price they charged is almost as same and some service is more expensive than the dealership. Dropped vehicle off Thursday afternoon, wasn't done until Sunday evening. They even tried to charge me for 4 new tires. I have always driven a Ford and I now have a Ford truck. I got so fed up with the terrible service at a local dealership that 2 years ago I began using this Canadian Tire for all my maintenance. I can get an oil change while I wait, got a tire repaired on a Sunday afternoon, and always get the work done fast and right. Only one time did I have a dispute when I picked up my truck after a repair and the problem was not solved. I spoke to the Manager and the problem was resolved in one day to my satisfaction. Very often, I can get the needed repairs done when the parts are on sale. They have a customer shuttle and a comfortable waiting room. I have had no reason to go elsewhere. I am satisfied with the staff, facility and the replacement parts. read more

December 27,20017, first I want to mention that I am visually impaired and cannot read fine print, which is anything smaller then Headlines. I asked a salesperson from the automotive section at the Canadian Tire Store #611 for help to purchase a simple battery charger, 10amp, 2amp, and with a booster feature. He showed me several models and price ranges. Since I couldn't see much about the details, I chose the smallest one suggested for $119.99. Taking it home (I had someone drive me for this) and having trusted the sales person I opened the box and find a "booster pack", not the battery charger asked for. I needed the car started then and there and thus I used the two cables and clamps and connected them to the car battery. Trying to start the car proved futile. Now I needed to read the instructions (using a magnifying glass) and find out that this pack needs to be charged for 24 hours before using. That is not what I ":bargained" for; I needed the car started now and not tomorrow. This is where my apprehension started. I called the store and explained the situation to the fellow who answered and treated me with respect and sympathy. He got a "supervisor", some lady. I am not good at remembering names and forgot both their names; all I know is that it was the automotive department. The first thing she told me that their "policies" don't allow a return on an item that was "used" (even if it was used for only a few minutes; I had it plugged in to charge). I got somewhat hot under the collar by this time, having been "shafted" all this time and given the wrong product, thus raising my voice slightly. I was told by her that this is unacceptable and she would end the conversation. This set me off even more and I did get ugly to never return to this store ever again. If this is the way Canadian Tire treats their customers I will never ever go back there to purchase anything. By the way, this is not the first time I had real trouble with the Canadian Tire Staff, even in another store. Some of this staff are absolutely untrained in Human Relations. All they do is shutting people down if they don't do as they wish to. They have no skills in deescalating a "touchy" situation and just will cut angry customers down and don't help them at all. This is an untenable situation for a company that size. There are people who keep a cool head in this kind of situations and then there are people who "loose" their cool, especially after spending over $100 and not getting what they asked for. I am a 75 year old pensioner and cannot afford this kind of "action", or financial loss, especially not by some young and untrained person. I myself had worked in the service department of a larger builder for several years and do know what I am talking about. Canadian Tire better get their "act" together since this is not the only store where I had this kind of experience. I took my vehicle in for repairs on a Friday night after booking an appointment, only to be told when I got there I had no appointment, and nobody could help me. My windshield wipers were broken and the fluid wasn't coming out and the weather was already turning to crap and I had to transport my 4yr old around. We returned the following day to get assistance, and after a day of pain with them, thanked the women behind the counter for helping and going the extra mile to ensure we could get the appropriate parts in as quickly as possible - only for her to turn around and make a complaint against him for being friendly. We were told to come in on Tuesday morning, but when we got there, we were turned away and told to come back at the end of the day. We dropped our car off at 3pm as they asked, and proceeded to inform them we needed our car back no later than 5pm as we had a child to pick up no later than 5:30. We called from 4:45pm onwards until we finally got through some time after 5:30, it took another 30min for them to send a shuttle, and informed us they hadn't completed the work as they didn't have all the parts required; they confirmed that morning they had the parts and could get the work done that same day. Upon arrival to get our vehicle, they had it up in the air being worked on as they had lied and were simply too lazy to do the work. It took another 30min for them to arrange another shuttle so they could take us to pick up our son and then bring him home. My 4yr old didn't get home until almost 7:30pm, 2hours later than he should have been home. My ex returned to the store to get our car, however they were still not done working on the car. All said and done, our car was returned after 8pm. The employees in the shop were rude, aggressive and condescending stating it was our fault, and refused to apologize for their mistake. Now after we made a case against the store to have this situation dealt with, we are being harassed and being told they can't assist us because we were actually the problem, and stating that we were rude and inappropriate in dealing with their employees. We have both been in touch with the store individually, and they have told us each two different stories, 1. when I spoke to the manager, I was informed that my husband was the issue in how he dealt with the women on the Saturday, and 2. when he called, that I was the issue when complaining about the scenario on the Tuesday night. So instead of them taking responsibility, they are now trying to point the finger at us and making the customer in the wrong. This reputation is absolutely absurd! They are refusing to take responsibility for their mistake and making my child late to be picked up, not eat dinner on time, late for bedtime and cost us an extra 100$ in day home fees for being late to pick him up, and for lying that they in fact had the parts but didn't want to work their full shift to get the job done they had agreed on. I have been going to this store since the day it opened as I live in the community, never have I ever been so appalled and disgusted in the way I was treated and made out to be the bad person for being upset in the service I was given. The Auto department is an absolute joke and their employees are not even loyal to their company as they tried to convince us to let them do the work on the side so they could take home the money for the work done. read more
