Canadian Tire advertises the largest garden department in Nova Scotia. When we visited in May, it was great- plenty of beautiful flowering plants and vegetables. By mid-June, they were neglected and dried out. Disappointing. Someone is not doing their job! read more

Purchased a fishing license at Pinegrove NS Canadian tire and I had to give them my drivers license which contained my address and birthday. I paid $27 for the license only to find out afterward that seniors only have to pay $5. I was not told this at Canadian tire and they did have that information on my license. Returned for a refund that was an ordeal - about 45 minutes. I understand it was not a straight refund as the money had be transferred to the government but no one seemed to know how to return the over payment. Finally they gave me a gift card for the different. When I tried to use the card it did not work. I gave up and told them to keep the card - way too much hassle .... read more

Poor and rude customer service. I had an empty coffee cup and a banana peel in my hand looking for a trash can outside the store. Couldn't find any! Went inside the store to do shopping and saw a trash can at the self service pay registers. As soon as I wanted to discard what I had in the trash can the attnedant yelled at me: "not for personal trash". I said I want to shop but dont want to carry the empty cup on me. She said put your banana peel in your cup then put the cup in your jacket pocket then go shopping. So shamelessly rude, impolite and non-customer driven. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I've been there three times within the last few months and each time I've held out hope that the experience would be better. I agree with the other reviews. The first two times I chose the pick up in store service to avoid being in the store a long time during the height of the pandemic. However, I stood there for at least 30 minutes while staff walked by chatting with each other. Finally, I had to go to the customer service desk for someone to finally acknowledge me. It would've been quicker to find the product on my own. However, today I went in and was looking for a dehumidifier. The website said there was one left in stock, but the shelves were bare. After looking around for someone to ask and not finding anyone, I went to customer service. An employee was assigned to me and told me they would look out back. I waited a good 10+ minutes in the aisle and wondered if he was still looking. I looked around for him and found him with another customer. Apparently he completely forgot about me? I went to Kent, dealt with a young employee who was incredibly helpful and came away with a better product and price. I think it's safe to say that the Canadian Tire in Bridgewater will never get my business again until they decide to prioritize customer service and efficiency. read more

I have to let you know about my second actually this would be my third experience with Canadian Tire. First off I have to apologies because in my first review I had the name of the mechanic who worked on my car wrong. So, the name of the guy was Thomas. Sorry Thomas. Now as we all know, things can happen that are out of our control. My previous review was to get a repair done on the exhaust. Since that time, the area seemed to have an extra rattle. I called up and booked an appointment to get it rechecked. Kim booked me in, although she was not working on this day, I was well taken care of. The manager, Jeff Cunningham made sure the car was looked at, they did a minor adjustment to the previous work and all was good. I have to say, they really do have great customer service here. They even have a small waiting room for the customers , complete with water cooler, coffee (free), tv, and a computer with internet for you to kill some time on. Jeff seems to run a smooth ship here, and the staff seem to be all happy , so I guess someone is doing something right! Now I have to give a mention to the lady who made me laugh, I believe her name was Helen. If she reads this , she will know because she told me she was getting her motor bike out of storage for the road this weekend. It was a welcomed uplift as I had some rather bad news that day, a close friends father had passed on. So to Jeff, Thomas,Kim and Helen, thank you for making my day run a little smoother! November 8th I purchased two items that where on sale from the flyer. They where NOMA Advanced Cluster Lightshow 1000 Lights - Warm White on sale for $49.99 an outstanding discount of 50%. I hired a man who came yesterday November 17th to install the lights in an outdoor tree. He took one roll from the box tested it and fully installed it on the tree, then took the second roll, tested it & came to tell me it was a different colour. We look at the roll packaging they came on and both said they where Warm White with the same code numbers but clearly the one he had installed was a much whiter white, even though the packaging indicated it was Warm White. Clearly a mistake at the assembly line had been made. I checked the store inventory & it said they had 21 Pure White in stock. So this morning I went to the Bridgewater store where they where purchased and asked if I could exchange the Warm White one for a Pure White one. The reel had not been used nor unwound. I was told I could get a refund of $49.99 but I would have to pay the full price of $99.99 to exchange it and that they could no longer honour the sale price. I explained I only wanted an exchange of the same lights given that the colour error had not been my error. Absolutely not I was told, as the code numbers where different. I asked to speak with the manager it was the dept. manager not the store manager but I was told the same thing. I said the error was not mine so why should I be penalized. I was told by the manager that they Canadian Tire should not be responsible for mistakes Noma made. I would have to accept a refund of $49.99 and pay $99.99 to get a matching reel to the one already installed. She said my alternative was to take it up with Noma. If you didn't know this, Noma is owned by Canadian Tire. All of this because the exact product has a different code because of light colour. Finally, the manager got a lad to bring another Warm White Reel to compare with the Warm White Reel I was trying to exchange. When plugged in, it was a bit whiter than the reel I had purchased. Not quite as white as the one installed but better. So I accepted it as I could clearly see they where not going to it exchange it to the Pure White because of the colour code error on the packaging of the reel I was trying to exchange. I am sure this should have and could have been handled better. It is clear to me that Canadian Tire does not stand behind the merchandise they sell and when a problem arises that they pass the buck on to the manufacturer. Good company policies and customer relations would have handled this quite simple problem with much better results. I will not be returning to Canadian Tire. read more

You want a review? I'll give you a review!! How many times have I driven to CT to get a sale item to be told it is out of stock? Countless! Called ahead once and was told the item I was looking for was in stock. Thought I had finally outsmarted them till I got there and was told the item was in their warehouse across town!! Had to involve the manager to get someone to bring me the item while I waited. Earlier this week I called to make an appointment to get my landscape trailer inspected. Was told I could drop it off Saturday and they would do it Monday and I would pick it up after work. Perfect!! Off I go on a cold, rainy day into town with the trailer in tow only to be told after getting there that there is no room inside and the trailer would have to be left outside with a chance that it would be stolen!! Now don't get me started on my experiences with trying to return an item. I am really getting fed up!! You guys have got to improve your customer service and communication skills!!! read more
