This store is soooo frustrating that I will drive to St Albert or Sherwood park before entering the Namao store. $3 automotive items are locked up and they expect me to wait behind 6 people at the parts counter to get a cabinet unlocked. Probably a 40 minute wait while they discuss what headlight/battery etc their car needs. They're punishing the good customers to prevent theft, but none of the other Cdn Tires seem to have to lock everything up. RIDICULOUS!!! read more

Guy at service desk sold me 2 wrong items out of 3, even after I asked for a specific car make and model. Not very professional, if u work at that specific department u should know what to sell customers, poor customer service. I will avoid this specific person from now on. read more

I had flat tire and went to get repaired. The service counter reps were rude and one even left after telling customer to wait for the other guy to help. Once the got to me they said they were backed up for two days and would not even give me an appointment. Told me the temperature outside of -45 was causing them extra workload which was a lie since it was only -22. I ended up changing my own tire in their parking lot. Probably not the first time this has happened. read more

I went to Canadian store to have 2 keys cut for rental; main door and unit. Empolyee cut keys and I went to rental and was unable to get in main door with my original key or new keys. my originals have been working all week and after leaving Canadian Tire, I'm unable to get in main door. I phoned and spoke to the employee to ask him if he had accidentally cut the wrong key when he had dropped one of my keys on machine table while he as cutting. he said that he didn't recall dropping my key. I went back to store and employee looked at keys and said the cuts looked good. again I asked him if he could look to see if he had picked up the wrong key off the table when he was cutting. he now remembered clearly dropping the key and said the only keys on the table were uncut. he said he didnt know why the original key no longer works. he said it could have been the machine. he asked that I bring in another key for the door so he could compare. I don't have a key which is why I was having one cut. he spoke with store manager and manager told him to give me a refund. I said that refund didn't deal with the issue that my original key no longer works. i must say that employe tried to be helpful I went to customer service and asked to see store manager Gordon. they said he was going to be in a meeting for a long time. they called Jessica, or Jessie and she told me that there appeared to be nothing wrong with the keys; I agreed but the problem is that my original key no longer works in my lock. she left to speak with employee and came back and said that she could refund me for keys but they hadn't done anything wrong. I have no idea what happened to my original key, it worked this morning and after canadian tire used it to make a copy, it no longer works. quite frankly, a refund doesn't solve the problem now that I can't open the door lock. I believe that one of two things happened, employee cut wrong key after he dropped it or he somehow damaged my original. and a refund of $12.00 doesn't pay for a locksmith to rekey a door. I've heard so many negative things about customer service at Canadian Tire in the past couple of years. I've been a loyal supporter of this chain. today, I'm sending my Canadian Tire Mastercard back. read more

Worst experience I ever had! Do not use this store for anything. I came in trying to replace a car battery. I understand having to wait for service but after standing there waiting for an hour, Gerardo at the car battery counter, started helping other customers that had come in after me. He just kept on ignoring me. After the 3rd customer I decided to leave. They don't have any concept of customer service. I have spent thousands of dollars at this store over time. I never needed to go to this store I chose to as it was a Canadian owned and locally operated and I usually support that. Now, I'm going to tell those that I know shop here to never shop here again and they've spent thousands here as well. Now that revenue is going to go to other businesses. When will these people understand that customer service equates with kept or lost revenue. When I was in customer service during training I was told you lose one customer due to a bad experience expect to lose up to 10. That's a lot of lost revenue! Anyways, horrible experience. Little to no customer service, long lines at the check out and the store is designed to keep you trapped inside (exits other than by the till are locked and require permission to use, if you don't buy a product you have to try to squeeze by all those in line just to get to the exit). Felt very unwelcome and when I couldn't locate what I went for I was not able to find any staff that was willing to help (they were around but they actively walked away or didn't know what I was looking for was and sent me on a wild goose chase). Will never be returning to the store. read more

Outdated, expensive and overall poor customer service. Never had an easy time finding anything at this store, returns need a physical paper receipt otherwise it's a huge hassle. Didn't realize that a store this large still has such an ancient way of doing things- no email copy, and they won't accept a photo of a receipt... Amazon has more stock than them and they are usually a third of the price. Their customer service are usually condescending and anything but helpful. read more

The 97 ST location is the single worst Canadian Tire outlet I have ever shopped at. All auto parts have to be purchased and returned at the auto parts counter, you can't go through a regular till. Problem is they only ever have one or two people working that till and they are also trying to answer all the customer questions about auto parts. You can stand in line for 30 minutes trying to buy something or ask a question. I feel sorry for the staff but what you get is terrible service and lousy attitude. Bad enough when you are buying something there, returning anything they make into a real ordeal. If they were the only CT I would never shop CT again. read more

asked to sign up for a master card and waited 20 minutes to be told to come back tomorrow. asked for an item only to have the jerk take it to cash and ask me how I'm gunna pay before refusing to let me see it first. rang all my items up and I asked for a bag, didn't get one and then asked again after I paid. she gave me the smallest possible bag and then demanded I pay again for just the bag, makes sense since they are charging a whole dollar and a half for a tiny little bag. you have to walk the entire length of the store to go out the 1 exit or dumbass security guy gets upset with you if you try to go out the entrance door. this is the worst Canadian tire in the city. avoid this location and go to any of the other ones, you will have a better time. read more

Parts people are young kids who have no idea what a car part is. If you're looking for something in the store, and need some help good luck. I waited a sports desk for 30 minutes with three pages to an associate, and I even called the store to have someone paged. A person from the garden centre came and had no idea where I could get my fishing license. I eventually left and went to Canadian tire on 167 ave and fort road. Wow what a difference. Bottom line, if you're going to this CT and don't need any help have at er. Otherwise go somewhere else read more

Shopping for wheel covers, did my research online and found it no surprise there. Ahaha, they carried my item in stock. I advise you to do the same if your looking for specific items. This location is well done, as in they are prepared with the season decorations both halloween and Christmas. Makes me wanna watch the Nightmare Before Christmas movie. Anyways, this place has auto parts all the way to snow blowers and so forth. I'm surprised they even have all the kitchen and house cleaning supplies. You can't go wrong in this place if you love to fix things at home. Obviously gardening department is closed due to this current season but supplies are still available. Staff is friendly but sometimes you gotta chase them down if your looking for certain stuff, if not just browse or window-shop. Parking is large, I believe they have washrooms somewhere, but haven't scoped it out. Recommended for people looking for household to auto and so on... Make sure you see online if they have stock of your desired item. read more

I agree with the last reviewer, people here are surly and don't seem like they want to be there. Came here to pick up some landscaping stuff and asked 2 different people where it was. One barked at me that she didn't know and pointed at some other guy, told me to go ask him. Second guy wouldn't even make eye contact and was walking away with quick reply. So I get that some people hate their jobs, either look for something else, or at least fake some niceness. Another time went to the outdoor garden to get some rocks, waited and looked around for someone, but no one there. So went inside and just paid for them, was told that someone would be out to help me. Stood around for another 5 minutes waiting. No one came, so just grabbed the bags myself and loaded my car and left. Wouldn't be surprised if people stole bags and just drove off. They don't seem to care. I'll stick to going to the Kingsway one, as I find the people more helpful and they seem to have more things in stock. read more

If I could give this store zero stars I would. NOTHING they advertise is ever in stock. Even if their website says they have lots in stock it's never where it's supposed to be and the staff has no idea where it is either. Then if you do end up buying something get ready to stand in line forever because they never have enough cashiers working either. Don't even waste your time going to this location. I went in to get a tire fixed from a flat I got. They couldn't fix it. No problem. The gentleman then proceeds to tell me that my tires are looking very warn and I need a new set. I am blonde and girly so I feel like this happens a lot where people assume I know nothing about cars. He pulls out his gauge and tells me it's at 2/32 and they come at 12/32. Shows me the sample swatch saying I look like the bottom half but mostly like the bald tire. With my eyes it looked like the top section but sure. I take my car to my regular place and ask the gentleman to take a look for me. He goes over all 3 tires in multiple spots and tells me they're sitting at 8/32 and have 75% left. Canadian tire tried to up sell me not on a pair but A FULL SET that I 110% did not need. I have 0 trust with their staff and I am appalled by their behaviour. I called the general manager and still have yet to hear back. This is the most disappointing experience I have ever had. Shame on them. read more

Auto service is horrible. I had a nail in my tire and came for a patch. They were rude and when I asked for more information on the cost and time length it would take, they rushed me away saying they would call when its ready, despite being the only customer at the counter. Very unprofessional. After this occurred I came to pick it up and they offered to put the tire on the car. Whoever drove it ruined my ignition. I came in the same day and they didn't even have a work order specifying who drove it and put the tire on. I talked to the manager (Shane) and he said there was no correlation and was extremely disrespectful to me, saying the problem was that I had an older vehicle. I was extremely upset by them and the fact that they wouldn't take ownership for their own wrongdoing at a business. I strongly recommend you do not let them have access to your vehicle. read more

Went to auto services to exchange my battery. October 20, 2015 4:30 pm Initially I was told that they will quote a full hour but if they service takes less time then they will make the adjustments accordingly. I found it odd that when I asked him when I should expect a call that he responded "hmph, the quote says an hour so it'll be an hour," as if to tell me, I'm going to take the HOUR it tells me to take on this job even though it takes a sane person 5 minutes to change batteries. I have a Mercedes and brought it here because when swapping out Mercedes batteries, you sometimes need to reset the ABS or radio etc. Other than that, it takes the same 5-7 minutes it takes any other vehicle. I went as far as removing the battery cover which can be tricky so the techs wouldn't break one of the three brackets that hold it in place! I watched my car be pulled in and left for 30 minutes unattended. After 30 mins, I walked up to the counter where the service consultant explains how they tried 3 different batteries and none of them seem to be the right size, apparently their system has the wrong sizes for the car. This time I stand near the counter so they KNOW I'm watching them not work on my car. After another 10 minutes a guy walks up to my car with the right battery and within 4 minutes my car is being pulled out of the service station. 44 minutes total. They want to charge me the full hour for service so I ask to speak to the service manager. Deidra says she is the manager here because actual manager Shane cochrane has already left for the day. She immediately got defensive and rude with an aggressive tone. I ask for the store manager, Doug I think(he was a tall young guy). I begin by telling him that I have a problem with the way Deidra was talking to me when he cuts me off and tells me he only needs the fact! Wow what great customer interaction. I'm going to be reporting this behavior to regional supervision. Don't come here if you have dignity or self respect and work hard for your money. read more

Every time I come here I just waste time as the parts people are very inexperienced and slow, which leads to taking forever in a line up to get the wrong part most times. Today I needed automotive paint which they recently locked in cabinets, in order to get someone to open the cabinet I was told I'd have to stand in the parts counter line which was half way across the store..... very poorly managed. read more

well now here's a story. my dad bought 4 tires for his truck wheel they were in the city anyway we drop his truck off at 8 am and we're told it will be ready bt 930 am. anyway at 930 about to leave the house they call to ask if he wants the white letters in or our. and I'm like wait are you guys just starting we were told it would be done and are told yea they got behind but the wheels are off and about to put the new ones on. ok so another hour goes by and my dad and I driver over. we don't find his truck in the parking lot or in the shop. so where is it? exactly nobody tells us anything finally 15 minutes later they pull in with my dad's truck and it still has the old tires on it. so at this point it's 11am and they still haven't started after telling my dad it would be done at 930. so my dad being older asks to talk to a manager about why some kid is out joyriding in his truck and why they haven't started on it hours after he was told it would be done and nobody will talk to him. So hopefully someone takes the time to read this and maybe goes elsewhere read more

Canadian Tire does it again- an entire bike rack fell on my husband as he was grabbing a bike from the top rack. The rack was not secured to the floor, nor was there some kind of sign advising that the rack could possibly come crashing down! The store Manager appeared to be putting the blame on my husband - that's it is his fault that the rack fell because of the way he attempted to grab the rack. The manager did not inquire how my husband was/is doing. I called the manager and all I could get from him was "no comment". This happened at the Canadian Tire on 96 street and 162 Ave. read more

AMA towed my car to this Canadian tire location to get estimate on repairs. The estimate was 73.00 for them to detect the problem and it was obviously done in the parking lot. I left my car with them and the keys when I returned to pick up my car. The handicapped card was missing that always hung on the review mirror. I spoke to the manager but claims none of his mechanics would ever take anything like that however the handicapped card was there when I left the car. Its disgusting that someone would steal the handicapped card from a handicapped person what is the world coming to ???? .yes it is easier to park for sports events etc but come on to steal from a handicapped person. That takes a twisted person to do that .........The manager was somewhat rude and indignant when I inquired about what happened to the handicapped card. I will not be taking my vehicle to any Canadian tire location due to this negative experience. read more
