I've only been to this particular Costco once but it is a nice new one. The parking lot seemed a bit more awkward than most and there were obstacles blocking some of the far off parking spots but otherwise our trip here was pretty standard for a Costco shopping trip. We found what we were seeking and had a lovely shopping trip in general. I find that every time I visit a new-to-me Costco location, I spot some stuff that I either never see at my normal location or that my normal location simply doesn't carry and that is a lovely perk. We were shopping later in the day on a Saturday than we normally do do I can't really tell if this location is any busier than our preferred spot or anything but it was a good trip. read more

Since I moved to the US in 2018, I miss the Poutine fries and Turkey Provolone Sandwich from West End Costco in Edmonton where I always get them. In the US, they, unfortunately, don't have poutine. But, yesterday I had both! Oooh, the cheese curds and the gravy on the freshly fried fries were mouth-watering. And the warm, cheesy, and pesto-ee turkey provolone sandwich was divine. I was only able to eat half of the sandwich and saved the other half for today's lunch. I'll warm it up in the oven to keep the crisp on cabaccia rolls. Can't wait to finish it up. My sister ordered Hawaiian Pizza and crispy fried chicken wings. Don't get me wrong, I like Hawaiian, the ones from Costco aren't good. There's only about 5 small pcs of pineapple on each slice and tiny scattered ham. The chicken was pretty good though, nicely browned and crispy. Update: Lesson learned, don't heat the sandwich in the oven. The bread became too hard to eat lol. I managed to eat the middle part hehe. It was still good though. read more

The people that gave negative reviews because of the deli are really funny people. If you want a luxury restaurant with great service, that's not Costco. It's cheap and delicious but not always timely. They have no competitors for the price. The gas is often lined up because you generally save $4 - $15 per fill. The store is great. This location is always clean and organized unlike the disastrous 91st or north side location. You get deals you can't get anywhere else. They have a couple bad apple employees - like everywhere. Most of them are super pleasant - not like everywhere. If you don't like it - stay out. More space for the rest of us. read more

I just love Costco. It's no secret since I have my own C is for Costco list on Yelp :-) I popped into this location last week and found the parking lot extremely frustrating in comparison to my go to location (St. Albert). However, that being said, it's still better than navigating the Clareview NE Costco. This location has a liquor store and gas bar - so if you need it, chances are they've got it. I was suprised to find it located across the street from the River Cree Casino. Last time I came out to the River Cree was a couple years ago to bring my husband a Rick Springfield concert, yes - my husband wanted to go... I digress. I was surprised to find the area completely developed! This location is a quick 5 minutes off the Henday which may just make it the perfect stop for you. While the parking lots was crowded and the store was jam packed, the checkout lines went smooth and quick so no complaints there. A great thing about Costco is the quality of the products and savings in areas you might not expect like the pharmacy. Costco has the lowest dispensary fees of any pharmacy in town - seriously. If you don't have 100% coverage for prescriptions, coming to Costco for a handful of prescriptions in a year will pay for your membership alone! Speaking of memberships, did you know they have an executive membership for an extra $50 that gives you money back at the end of the year?!? We've always and easily made our entire membership fee back with the rebate checks. A little known secret is if for sometime you don't earn back the difference in membership fees the first year, they will refund you your membership fee for the Executive portion! It's a one time only shot but what do you have to lose? Nothing, that's right - nothing! No one and I mean NO ONE has a better return policy than Costco and you can feed your family of 4 for under $10 after shopping with one of their all beef hot dogs or polish dogs and pop combos for $1.50! And if you buy an ice cream for less than $2 in a cup, you can put rootbeer in your pop cup, add some vanilla ice cream, and voila - you've got root beer floats! just left this Costco location. spent over $700 and the cashiers who pack the cart, paid zero attention nor cared what they were doing and I had raw meat leak all over the entire cart. when I took the meat back in and then waited another half hour for customer service, their response was "oh sorry. we'll refund you for these items". I asked if there's any sort of compensation since I now get to go home and clean raw meat off of all my groceries and all she could say was sorry. such terrible customer service and I don't even understand why they have cashiers packing the carts because there's so much they put on the bottoms that gets destroyed. read more

Costco is a wonderful place to shop so many products available in bulk and affordable price. I've been shopping at Costco since 2010 and I don't see myself stopping any time soon. Went to Costco on Winterburn Rd. Decided to get kids the food they prepare and sell there. I waited for my number to be called. All my food items were sitting there all I was waiting for was the ice cream. They took cash paying customers who ordered ice cream right away while my order sat for 10 min. Finally it was done and she got the order wrong. She over thorough the sundae in the trash huffed and walked away. Now she gave me the correct one after her hissy fit. That one will end up in the trash to. I'm not eating one with her spit in it. The ice cream machine is off to the side and I'm 6ft tall I could see. I was seething on the way home. I will never ever purchase there again. Costco can keep its 1.50 hot dogs (my order was $35.00). My executive membership will be cancelled. Adios Costco! read more

Coming before Christmas, I think the place would be a zoo but we were able to find a decent parking spot and it wasn't full. There were people shopping but no shopping cart wars and even sample stations had food to try. There seemed to be a good available of festive foods except a few things we were looking for weren't in stock. I also like looking through their clothes and entertainment section. I found a pair of yoga pants for less than $20 and would be great for walks or lounging at home. The check out lines weren't long with only one person in front of us. The food line was longer with everyone waiting for their hot dogs! I guess people can't resist $1.50 for a hot dog and drink. This is not the Costco you are looking for. It is very conveniently located in west Edmonton by the River Cree, right off the Anthony Henday. You definitely want to drive through the city and fight the traffic to go to one of the other Costco locations. The parking lot is filled with cars, but you'll be able to find a spot easily, and not have to park out in the boonies. You'd much rather go to another Costco and almost get into an accident with another driver fighting over the one spot available in the parking lot. Inside this Costco will be people shopping, but it won't be busy and loud. Don't you want busy and loud in your Costco shopping? Wouldn't you rather go to the south side Costco, which is apparently the busiest Costco in Canada (or North America if you believe the gossip I've heard)? The aisles at this Costco will be organized well and the layout pretty intuitive meaning you'll be able to find what your looking for right away. You'd much rather wander around in frustration looking for what you need. And the staff, when you get to the checkout, they'll be able to ring you up quickly, and there'll be someone there to help pack up your bags (or boxes...since it's Costco). The checkout process will take a couple of minutes tops, but you don't want a quick checkout experience. No you don't want your shopping experience at Costco to go well. You want to go to another location in the greater Edmonton area and deal with the stress and crowds. So trust me, this is not the Costco you are looking for. read more

Love this Costco! It is one of the newer locations right by the River Cree casino. It is busy right after work and the traffic may seem heavy on the Whitemud but once you get in there, you will be in and out in no time. The parking lot is spacious and no matter where you park, it still seems close to the door. This Costco is clean and all the stock is neatly organized. The staff is very helpful and the checkout lines goes fast. I have never seen a huge line up for the fast food but there's usually no empty tables. The turkey sandwich is nice and hot with melted cheese in the ciabatta bun for $5.99. The ice cream is also delicious, for only $1.99 you can get the waffle cone or for $2.29 you can get a sundae. The ice cream is so thick and rich that it did not even melt in the heat of my car. Oh, the bbq chicken is also the best! We don't buy it anywhere else. The chicken is bigger and much juicier. But don't go close to closing as they did run out once. We like to go around 8 pm and find there are still many cashiers and not busy. read more

When I asked why she was severed first, cashier told me the lady said she was there first which is not the truth. I then asked to speak with a manager. When I spoke with the manager he was extremely rude. And even said "what do you want me to do" If he would have just said "I'm sorry we will make sure to keep and eye out and try to prevent this from happening in the future" I would have been more then happy to leave. Newest Costco and it seems a little less hectic, still very busy but less hectic. Costco is the best! I love Kirkland everything, the brand is amazing. It has a lot of products that are certified organic and gmo-free as well. They carry so many cool food products too that aren't readily available at other big grocery stores. Best deals: coconut oil, olive oil, bars, spinach, dates, chips, quinoa, chia seeds, toothpaste - just everything really. Ha! But do your homework; some things are actually cheaper at Superstore. First off, we love Costco! It's the best! And this Costco is the best location in the city! It is on my way home but it is also much less busy than the 91 Street location. That one also services Beaumont and Leduc. This Lewis Estates one may also service Spruce and Stony, but the traffic seems just fine. This location also has a gas bar and the liquor store. If you thought the deals at the Warehouse were good, wait until you check out the Liquor Store! Wow! Very cool! The prices they have set for many of their spirits could be compared to the BEST sale price you may find elsewhere. I like coming to this Costco when I am in Edmonton because it is located only a few kilometers away from my parents house. Costco is also one of my favourite stores to visit whenever I go traveling. Why, because of their local fare. In Edmonton, of course I went there to have their poutine. Their poutine is made with seasoned fries, gravy and cheese curds. It was delicious. The cost of living in this Capital city of the Province of Alberta is higher than Vegas. Just for comparision, rotisserie chicken here is $7.99 CAN each compared to $4.99 USD in Vegas. The store is just like all the other Costco with a large selection of products and it is super busy on weekends. read more

Renewed membership on october 15th 2014. Paid via debit. $57.10 came out of my account. It was approved. Receipt, which i still have says this. Bought gas three times - all times Costco card worked not a problem. Tonight went shopping, stood in line. Waited. Got to till, items rang thru, Then i'm told, a supervisor has to be called. Supervisor comes, looks at whatever computer says, says to me there is a problem with your Costco card. Come to customer service. Off i go. Wait some more. The lady behind the till says the payment didn't go through when i paid on october 15th. Weird. My receipt clearly says it went thru. My bank history shows the withdrawal. Yet that is not good enough. They want the payment again. I already paid i said, here is the proof, you are not getting anymore money from me for something i've already paid for and have proof. Not good enough - the supervisor and the customer service person tries to tag team me. Tells me their computer says the payment didn't go thru on their end. I have to pay again. Again, i tell them, i am NOT paying for what i have already paid for. Supervisor says, i can speak to a manager. Call him over i said, i already paid. So i wait some more... The manager comes over, i slap down my bank card, my Costco card, my receipt, and clearly say, this is who i am, this is what i paid with and this says it was approved. Yet, i am told i didn't pay. I am not impressed. Weird, the manager says, so he and the supervisor and the customer service person pull out some more papers, stare blindly at their monitor. I continue to wait. The supervisor comes over sees i'm losing patience, getting angrier by the minute, tries to emphasize with me. Don't i say. Just don't. He looks at me then walks back to the monitor where the manager and customer service person were still staring blindly at the screen. I continue to wait when the manager, a young man, quite nice in demeanour, tried to diffuse the situation and said, our computer says you didnt pay. Even though you have your receipt. Even though, your bank balance shows the balance was withdrawn from your bank acct it doesn't matter. The best we can do is call you in a couple of..... Days..... I laughed.... Not a nice laugh... Really? Seriously? I am appalled at the treatment i received tonight. I have been a consumer most of my life and never have i had to endure such headache, unprofessionalism, and to be quite frank, such stupidity from any company i chose to spend my money with. Never, have i been told, even though i have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the transaction went thru, backed up by a hard copy receipt, my bank balance which shows the transaction was approved that wasn't good enough. Costco Winterburn - you should be ashamed. I am a very loyal customer to companies that treat me well. I will never step foot inside your store again. You have lost a loyal, and dedicated customer. Thanks to your team representatives for wasting my very valuable time and your arrogant dis-service. If nothing else, I expect an immediate solution to the problem at hand! Please remove the flag from my card so it is usable at the gas bar. In addition, since this took place in your very public customer service area (where multiple customers were walking by and noticing the drama as it unfolded like a car crash - you can't help but look)-- a public apology AND acknowledgement, that it was YOUR staff at fault would also suffice. Finally, putting protocols in place to prevent this from happening to another customer or myself in the future would also be greatly appreciated! read more

I like going to this Costco, It's a newer Costco and the parking space is huge (it's easier to find a parking space compared to the other Costco stores). The cashiers are quick and that helps with long lines. They also have a gas bar and liquor store at this location. I have tried some of their Kirkland brand for various products and I think they are pretty good and of course better price. On thing I noticed about the Costco gas station is that they are cheaper than other gas stations (many of you may already know this). But one thing you may not know is that when gas prices goes up, the Costco gas station always delays raising their prices for at least one day. For example, if you find that the gas prices have gone up at various locations today.... well Costco won't raise their gas prices for today and also tomorrow. read more

I love this Costco location (and not just because it's across the street from my house). It has a gas bar, liquor store and automotive section. It's usually not hard to score a sweet parking stall near the door. The photo lab has gotten me prints back within 2 days. Seriously, Costco does no wrong. It does get kind of hairy if you go during peak hours, lucky for me I live so close I can sneak in just after opening or before closing and still score what I need in plenty of time. The only downside is when the River Cree has an event going on the road to get in can be very congested. We need better west side infrastructure but that isn't Costco's fault. We've yet to visit the one in St. Albert, but compared to the other locations within Edmonton, this one tends to have the fastest cashiers, the most streamlined product layout and best-designed parking lot. It seems you can't really get a "bad" parking spot here! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and the selection of frames is always good. Today I went to get tires and was equally impressed. For those who have never ever had a Costco experience, I urge you to go to one/Sam's Club because the grocery experience is nothing like you've ever experienced. For the young people transitioning to adulthood like myself (I've reached my thirties thankyouverymuch [whaaaaaaaaaaat?]) you've started to realize there are more important things to buy than your weekly comic subscriptions such as bulk toilet paper, soy milk and toothpaste. Probably in that order too. Maybe not. You may ask yourself, "Yo, Andrew, I can get that at pretty much any grocer." to which I will reply, "That is true but while you buy your 2L carton of Silk for 5 dollars, I bought 3 for 8 dollars". To some this may not matter but then you factor in all the perks like "I wish my grocer didn't have flower bouquets that are dried up and shriveled or out of stock but I'm sure glad Costco has lively and in stock" or "I can buy 3 Contigo water bottles for like 20 dollars? Whaaaaaaat?". You get the idea. Costco carries more than groceries such as household items like storage containers for the kitchen (Tina's favorite), office supplies like markers and pens, tools such as work gloves, light bulbs and electronics. If you are looking for a onestop shop for a variety of people for Christmas, you should really consider Costco as it carries hip and happening toys, movies and games too. Do you have a friend/relative which you frequently give socks to? Costco has that plus more: underwear, fleece pajamas, mattresses (if someone gave me one, I would definitely not refuse this gift. Just sayin'). Of the many Costco shoppers I've spoken to, I think it's pretty unanimous that Costco's meat selection and quality is top notch. I bought these pork cutlets and applied some simple seasoning and rub and I actually received compliments on how well they tasted. Me. Who usually has instant noodles for dinner. Cooked well! I attribute it to the meat quality, no joke. Winter is here and if you need winter tires, Costco had a ridiculous sale on Michelin x-ice3's. For those who are not familiar, these tires are probably one of the best rated ice tires you can get without getting studs in your tires. For a complete set with rims and installation, it came out to about 650 to be put on a Civic sedan. They even encourage you to book an appointment so you don't have to wait hours upon hours just to see if you can get in. Hate paying for gas? They have reduced gas rates (about 5 cents a litre less usually) and there are specific days of the week which has it go even lower than the usual reduced rate. Finally, to end it off, I went in on a day before Remembrance Day and I think a lot of people had it off as there were just lines and lines of people at the cashiers. Feeling a little down, Costco cheered me up with the $1.50 hotdog and drink combo. If that doesn't make you smile, I will hope that one day you will open your heart to the goodness of treating yourself to a hotdog. Unless your muslim. I apologize for pushing that on you if you are. Only downside is the membership price: $50 a year. But with all that savings, you'll hardly notice it in the grand scheme of things. What a great Costco deep in the west end near River Cree Casino. The parking lot is huge. They have the added bonus of a gas bar and more importantly, a liquor store. My boyfriend and I came here on a Sunday afternoon expecting it to be jam packed with long line-ups for the cashier. But we were happily surprised to see neither! We were able to get all our listed groceries and check out in no time at all. I think the longest wait might've been on our way out when we waited in line to have our receipt and purchases reviewed at the exit. If this Costco wasn't so far for us, I would make this my default Costco for sure =) read more

The lines can be long during the weekends or during 'rush hours', but if you plan your shopping trips outside of these times, there is almost no wait to pay. I generally love Costco, tried their new wings on the menu and it was fantastic, the batter they used is light and crispy and seasoned beautifully, the wait on the wings was 40 mins and that's why they lost a star for time management, taking into account that somebody had ordered 6 buckets of chicken before I arrived they should have filled the order of six 2 buckets at a time and not make the people that were there wait so long. Not very often will you hear " the chicken saved the day!" but clearly it happened here 4 stars for the chicken wings alone. read more

My husband & I have shopped at this location since it opened & never had an issue until this evening. We were together at the cash wrap, I handed the cashier our Costco card (has a picture of my husband on it), and then I proceeded to pay with my credit card. I kept my maiden name and considering it's 2018 have never been questioned as to why our surnames are different. The cashier made a big deal about the card holder having to pay, and came close to accusing us of using someone else's card. My husband had to take his hat off to prove he was the cardholder. I've gone through security at the airport with less scrutiny! When we asked to speak to a manager to make our concerns about our experience known we were handed off to 3 different individuals, received no apology and were instead still accused of doing something wrong. We were told multiple times that since I wasn't technically the member that we were going against policy. Considering we spend several thousand dollars at Costco a year you'd think that the managers would be a little more polite and at minimum somewhat apologetic. We've been married for several years, and share bank accounts, honestly does it really matter who types the PIN in at the cash register?!! read more
