Not normally the kind of place worth writing a review about, but... I went in there with the intent to make a reasonably large purchase, but ended up losing the will to do it after dealing with the old guys in the hardware section. The kids who work there know the deal and do the best they can with a retail job, but Canadian Tire needs to send the old guys away to learn how to deal with people. They literally killed the "I want to buy stuff" vibe by being condescending/generally unpleasant and lost a guaranteed sale. I get that these stores are in a tough position in needing hardware expertise but only being able to pay for retail people, but the older staff clearly aren't trained enough for that environment. Keep in mind that I didn't even need or ask for help...this guy talked me out of a sale for absolutely no reason. This is a good example of why people would buy online. read more

I'm finished with the Kelowna Canadian Tire. I went online to see if they had the furnace filter I wanted, and it indicated they had 5 in stock. I drove to pick them up. NONE IN STOCK. This is the second time it's happened to me. I just destroyed my Triangle card. No more wasting my time. Amazon had the product in stock and delivers the next day. The new Canadian Tire in Kelowna...I have been there twice now. The store is enormous with lots of great items. The first issue is that there is no map of where anything is in the store, and if you can't find a person to assist you, you could walk around aimlessly for ages before finding what you are looking for. Not at all great for people who are in a hurry or people who have difficulty walking around. Super frustrating! The second issue is the parking lot with ridiculously narrow parking spaces. Considering how many gigantic trucks are in this town, getting in and out of your car can be a nightmare unless you park far from the building...again adding a ton more walking to the shopping visit. The third issue is that there are very few places to return carts. For some reason the ones that are there can only be entered from one side. This adds, again, a ton more walking to walk around possibly several rows of cars to return the cart. So bizarre. I can't imagine anyone taking the time to return especially in the winter, ice adding to this difficulty potentially. There are easy fixes for these issues. Please consider them! read more

INCOMPETENT SERVICE, UNRESPONSIVE MANAGEMENT. The bulb looked normal. I thought it was a wiring problem. "Its a defective socket". Still not fixed $200 dollars later for lack of available parts. Went home to McIver my own fix. Checked it over with an ohm meter before tearing it apart. The bulb was burnt out at the base rather than the filament. They missed a burnt out bulb! Waited four hours for oil change. Ask them if they are able to clip on my front bumper while doing the oil change. They checked the exhaust system instead. When informed them I had originally asked them to clip the front bumper and not check the exhaust system they really wanted me to know that they had checked exhaust for free! Which was great if I needed that, but my car is only a year old. I was informed that my air filter was dirty and they could change that out it would just be an extra five minutes. I said sure let's do it. Over an hour later I went up to the desk to ask what was going on my car was still just sitting there. I was told that twice the wrong air filter had been sent over and no one had let me know. When I asked why nobody had let me know I was told that the original lady that was taking care of me had gone on lunch break. Anyways end of story my bumper still needs to be clipped on. My air filter needs to be changed. I'll never get that four hours of sitting around with my three-year-old at Canadian tire back. But, my exhaust system is in great shape. read more

The reviews for this business speak for themselves. My experience: I had to switch my plates from AB to BC and was under the impression I needed an out of province inspection to do so. Got it done here and was charged 275$ I then went to the insurance company and it was brought to my attention that vehicles under 5 years do not require an inspection. Canadian tire made no effort to tell me this before I gave them my money. I complained and received a courtesy call 4 days later stating that they do in fact inform customers with vehicles 4 years or newer that an inspection isn't required to switch plates and whether or not I had been told that they're not willing to do anything about it. This is a PREDATORY and DISHONEST business practice. I've since called 3 other service shops for quotes on the same job out of curiosity. All of them would have done it for over 100$ cheaper, but all told me over the phone it wasn't required!! Don't give crappy tire your business. read more

Absolutely horrible service. I went in to buy multiple pallets of wood pellets and asked for a manager to see if this was possible to have them order them in for me. Not only was he rude - he said they are not wanting to sell that many to me! Not sure how to say this... but that mark up that you have on your products... um that helps pay your wage and overhead. I Ordered tires online which said were in stock at the time as you would normally and didnt think too much about it because it was supposed to take a couple days. I ordered the tires on April 16th - supposedly supposed to be at the store for pickup on the 20th of April. It is now April 22nd, I havent had any updates/confirmation or even a reply from the email I sent to customer service/online support. Spent over an hour on hold trying to get ahold of the store directly. Never got in contact with anyone just an automated voice recording. Gave up trying after this. If it were possible to give this place a zero I would. The staff is unimaginably rude and unhelpful. I came to pick up my online order that they claimed was already ready, only to find that my order been cancelled due to "being out of stock" after showing that it was in stock online. The employees were extremely unhelpful helping me with my order situation, but even the managers seem to not know what they're doing. This store overall is terrible and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. DO NOT SHOP HERE!! After watching the Canadian Tire Nascar Series in Vernon, it just seemed natural we had to check out a Canadian Tire and get some stuff for our next leg of the adventure. We needed a cheap cooler for water and food, that would float. On Sale! $10, can this get any better? Cantire does it again with great items for sale and when it comes to summer time and camping stuff? They have lots to choose from. 1st of all i called on friday the afternoon on the 22nd of july. i had a leak in my ac unit and i wanted them to look for a leak. the gentleman who answered the phone told me that if i came down that evening before closing that they would be able to look at my vehicle. so i drove my car down, gave my keys to some kid who had NO IDEA what was going on. When i gave him my key i literally had to MAKE HIM write down my information on a post it note. the next day i get a phone call from canadian tire asking me why my car was there and if i knew why my side mirror on my roof., obviously, this was news to me as i was under the impression that my car was in their shop for inspectionl. the guy says to me (100% truth) why didn't you wait til monday, nobody here can fix ACs on the weekend. Im like wow that's crazy cuz ur employee just told me to come in asap and that they would look at my AC during the weekend. So yeah my car was left in their lot all weekend and someone vandalized or hit my car. I WOULD NEVER HAVE MY CAR SIT THERE FOR A WEEKEND THATS INSANE. If their employee said wait til monday, that wouldn't have happened. so will they help compensate me? NO they quote me 800-1700 for a new mirror it's my fault even tho they lied to me. so i have to go back the next week to fix an oil leak that they found during the ac leak test i...guess...so anyway this lady calls me on friday and she says and i quote "honey, heres the deal, we can take your car apart today and it will be ready saturday, or we can wait until tomorrow to take your car apart in case we ordered the wrong parts and then your car won't be ready til monday, i said maam take ur time just please have my car ready sunday, she said 100% no problem. i live out of town so i needed my car for work on monday....so sunday rolls around, i haven't heard anything from canadian tire, so around 1pm and call for an update and dude was super rude giving flack for calling saying it's ready when it's ready, so ok. i hang up. still nothing. so 445pm (they close at 5pm) i call and ask if i can come get my car and theyre like no (honestly chuckliing) that not going to be til tomorrow. so i'm hooped again. so i'm a little upset. i went in to ask for an ac leak. a week later i dont have my car, their negligence led to my mirror being smashed etc etc. so i posted a review on the kelowna canadian google site./ they send me a standard oh i want to resolve this give me your info bit. i do, and the next day dude calls me while im working literally trying to work me, like oh i know u wanted this oh i know u felt this...the standard corporate rub while they literally do nothing for u. at this point in the conversation about 5 mins in i tell him im in the middle of shift and i don't have time for this. i abruptly shut him down and i swear to you 30 mins later he calls back leaves a voicemail saying they just took my car out for a spin and know my drivers side is broken. so im tired of writing this. but i went in for a couple buck ac leak repair. 10 days later and 1600 bucks later my passenger side window is busted and my drivers side window is broken. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! AND IF YOU DO (DONT) DO NOT POST ABOUT THEIR INCOMPETANCE AND RUDENESS UNTIL YOU GET YOUR CAR BACK OR THEY BREAK YOUR VEHICLE EVEN MORE. We made special arrangements to stay in kelowna until it was fixed as we wanted to drive back home to Rossland the same day. I purchased an Essex Gazebo, 10X12, from Canadian Tire In Kelowna, BC. Love the Gazebo, however the canvas wind walls & netting are of very poor quality. Only after 2 years, all zippers separated, and eventually broke. Canvas faded due to sun, to be expected. Went to Canadian tire, purchased a new set of windwalls & netting. Got home, outside of package stated Essex Gazebo 10x12, My Gazebo Model number. Nope inside package, it was only 10x10,, all paperwork said it was for a Sunjoy Gazebo. Ok, just a little annoyed, back to Canadian Tire to exchange. Asked if I could take quick look to check for sizing. Was told no, but just bring it back if not right. Today took it back, cause also outside package description correct, inside was 10x10, made for a Clarkson Gazebo. Came home with nothing but a bad mood, as clerk was not at all helpful. I got very poor customer service. It was obvious to me that the clerk was simply not interested in meeting my needs. She was rushing me out of the way. Perhaps she was wanting to go on her break. I will continue to shop at Canadian Tire, because one bad apple isn't going to totally spoil for me, all the store has to offer. Now having said all the above. First of all please don't ever go to this canadian tire. It all starts with my alignment in a surrey canadian tire store and they did not do the job well. Then I come to kelowna and ask these guys and they say they can't do anything about it. Next I have a gas leak and I go there, the mechanic inspects and say that a gasket has to be changed in the fuel connecter which is on the side of the fuel tank. he checks with someone else and says that the part is not available and says that I have to replace the whole fuel pump ($850) for a 98 neon. I have my own doubts and go to another local mechanic and they find the part from chrysler and finish the job for $160. While I was in the canadian store , there was another customer who was duped by these guys and did unnecessary repairs. Lucky I was not duped. Take this as a serious warning and reconsider your decision about canadian tire. These guys repair existing ones and charge you again for fixing them. I purchased new rims from Canadian Tire Kelowna and had 4 new tires balanced and mounted. They couldn't even balance my rims properly which ruined my tires. There reponse was that they had fired the guy mean while I ruined my tires and they made me pay for a wheel alignment. for there mistake. I came into the store to return an item with receipt in hand and was rudely and promptly told by a lady in customer service that she would exchange the item but wouldnt give a refund even though the reciept states that an unopened item can be returned for a refund within 90 days. Ended up returning the same item at a different Canadian tire after walking out of this store. This level of customer service is what you would see on tv shows showing what not to do. Bad News! For me its three strikes and these guys are out. I'm guessing the problem stems from a pay system for their mechanics based on a per job renumeration. When slow they start looking for things to fix. Often trying to talk people into repairs that are not needed. This location especially bad. read more

This Is the worst experience I've ever had at any automotive shop. I went in for a Provincial inspection for my 87 bmw 325is and the certified inspector made out a list of what was needed. There were some things like cracked lens and HID lights which was totally understandable. He then went on to say the Catalytic was no good and was "modified". I had to weld in a catalytic because the car never had one initially. The fix for the issue was to purchase a new one, as it is a 30 year old vehicle this was not an option for myself and I asked how I can make a used one work. He never answered my question, as well in the Provincial inspection guidelines there is nowhere where it specifies that the exhaust system cannot be welded or modified to meet expectations. None less I asked for a CVSE inspector to come by to confirm this, my car sat for 2 days without any word and I eventually just got fed up and had it towed from the location. All and all the tech couldn't back his own word up and gave me no way to fix the issue, will not ever recommend this shop. read more

I am from Alberta and normally have had nothing but great things to say about the Canadian Tires in my region. However, this Canadian tire was horrible. My boyfriend and myself had planned to meet up with my family for a camping trip. My parents weren't answering us (due to lack of cell phone reception where they were camping (Hope)) and we were unable to confirm if they had a tent for us or not. We purchased a tent in Vernon just because we were not sure if we would have one to stay in or not. Before we purchased the tent we made sure that if my parents got back to us saying they had a tent for us then we could return it. We were reassured that we could return it at any Canadian Tire across Canada. My parents ended up contacting us telling us they had a tent for us. After stopping for lunch in Kelowna we headed to this Leckie Road Canadian Tire to Return the tent. We literally had the tent for no more than 4 hours and it was unopened. The lady at the customer service desk promptly told us that she would not accept the return on the tent despite the fact that we had not touched it. She told us that we could drive back to Vernon and "make a fuss there if we wanted to". The tent was over $300 and we did not want to waste time and drive back to Vernon. She was horrible to deal with and very rude. We ended up taking the tent to another Canadian Tire in Kamloops where we returned the tent with no problems. In addition, after we had left the Leckie Road Canadian Tire I phoned back to the Vernon Canadian Tire explaining the situation and telling the manager that her employee told us we could return the tent if need be. She then informed me that she was too busy to do anything and that it was pretty much too bad so sad for me that I was misinformed and never told that each Canadian Tire has the right to make their own rules. All in all we had a horrible experience and I am shocked that the certain lady we dealt with is in a customer service position where she clearly is very unpleasant to say the least (blonde lady, early thirties-in picture on the wall behind the front customer service desk). read more

i went to Canadian tire kelowna BC and bought 2 large plastic containers. i got to my car and realized i was charged for 3 i went back to the clerk, she said no you had three i told her no i bought 2 she gets on the phone with her manager tell her that im saying i bought 2 but she counted 3 manager comes over asked to see my recent so she can look on surveillance cameras 20 mints goes by while im standing at the till i ask clerk whats going on she pages the manager that was looking at surveillance camera then asks to see my recent again the manager had been looking at the wrong time for the last 20 min i get mad and say iv been waiting here for 20 fucking min while she looks at wrong time and walk out i was so mad i will never go to Canadian tire again!!!! read more

Read other reviews with returning problems, and it sounds like many people have the same problem we had. We bought a Samsung vacuum clearer and only used it twice, the second time we used it the motor on the brush stopped working. So exactly on that day we went to return it, we were told from the customer center staff that we can only get a gift card or exchange it for the same product. Since we didn't want any of the options we wanted our money back, we were told to speak to the manager who told us the same thing and advised us to call Samsung and ask for an authorization number. I spent one hour on the phone listening to the music and explaining to the staff member about the situation, at the end we figured that the store has to call somebody to get approval, the manager replied I don't have time today I will do it tomorrow, and will call you back. So we don't know what is going to happen now, just know for sure I will avoid that store by any means and look for a store with better return policy. read more
