This is the best Home Depot I have ever been into. We are doing a renovation so we were literally in there every day for ten days straight. The service did not change. It was exceptional everytime we walked in that door and we were in gardening, plumbing, tiles, lumber.... dealt with many different departments and all the staff was outstanding. And unlike Vancouver (where I am from), here you walk in the door and someone greets you, people were always asking if they could help us find something. And they always had everything we needed. Ordered an appliance, Getting someone off their computer took awhile. When appliance arrived it was wrong one. Delivery guys took it away and that was last I heard from Home Depot. Their rope and bucket selection is second to none. I was able to find a bucket sturdy enough to hold a couple hundred fluid ounces of body lotion, but still fit comfortably down the hole in my basement. The advice I got was very helpful too.... switching to a pulley system is a lot easier than lowering the bucket down to my guests by hand, which is what I've been doing for FAR too long. I was even able to find a pulley with just the right amount of squeak... enough to be creepy but not so much that the neighbors can hear it. 4 stars. I went to the Kelowna Outlet to buy a set of cordless drills. Some random screws and plumbing hardware. I decided to shop for the smaller items first. Finding he screws and small plumbing parts was very frustrating due to the sheer number of tiny packages. After spending 15-20 minutes not finding what I was looking for, I left plumbing for the tool area. I was aproached by a female security guard and asked what I was looking for. I jokingly replied "the way out, this place is too big" and continued on not realising what was transpiring. I was looking at the various drill brands when I noticed her following me. It was then that it dawned on me she figured I was stealing. So I asked her, are you following me? She smirked and asked me why I said that "this place is bullshit". Firstly, I never said that. Secondly, when do security guards give customer service? I paid for a package of screws I did manage to find and left. It wasnt until a few minutes later that it dawned on me that I was profiled. I decided to phone a manager. I got someone, but I dont believe it was an actual manager. I told her I was insulted and unhappy with the company. She replied with "oh, were you the guy wearing high vis that was shopping in hardware?" .That tells me I was being followed by cameras and the security person was dispatched to me. I am a 50 year old contractor that has no need to steal $5 worth of machine screws.Im guessing they figured I was loitering too long and that made me suspicious. If I didnt have to search so much I wouldnt have been loitering! I bought my drills across the street at CanadianTire and will never enter Home Depo ever again other than when I go there to get an apology. read more

Awful experience. I rented a tool for a project in kelowna, and went in to return it near closing time. Despite that there were still tons of customers there and plenty of staff, they turned me away and wouldn't let me return their own property. I explained that I wasn't going to be in town in the morning, and the kid just walked away from me. Dropping off rentals at any time is standard no matter what type of business it is. It's completely outrageous that anyone would refuse a rental return and force the customer to take time off work and drive back to the store....again. This isn't a hardware store but a bottom of the barrel retail chain that can't even provide common sense to its bored, aloof employees. read more

Often very good with customer service. Disappointing visit today. It's 31 degrees and did not wanti to leave the dog in the vehicle for obvious reasons. She is a well disciplined shepherd. Was stopped and told dogs are not welcomed. Hmmm... I understand that not everyone loves animals and perhaps why this is their policy but is their suggestion leave your pet in your vehicle in 31 degrees temperature. Rona would not suggest this. Perhaps a review of this policy should be considered. Or at least provide a tie up area with shade and water if you do not allow pets in the store. read more

Dec 20/16 I contacted Home Depot about my Silestone countertops that there was a approx.. 12-16 inch crack in one section of countertop and multiple chips out of the edges. I was transferred to Adrian from Kitchen team, he put me thru to Kailey and she wanted pictures. Her email was Project 342@homedepot.com. I sent the pictures. Very hard to see anything from pictures. Jan 9/17 Sent Kailey an email to find out what is going on with my claim. No reply. Jan 11/17 Called Kailey@ Home depot, she had sent it to Valley Contractors from Langley they do the installs for Home Depot, she had set up for Valley Contractors to come out and look at it. No one ever showed up. Called her again and she put me on hold and contacted them. She said they would contact me today and set up an appointment. They never called. Jan 17/17 Called Kailey at Home Depot and she gave me Valley Contractors number and told me to call them. Jan 17/17 Valley called the house at 12:00. They talked to my wife and told her it was a heat issue and they would get a work order going and call back with timing. I called Michelle back with Valley Contractors and all she wanted to do was argue. She said Trevor will come by and fill in the crack. She blamed it on thermal temp change and the dishwasher and then started argued about how long ago they were installed. I finally told her to come and look at it and then we can decide what to do. She was very arrogant and rude. They are coming Tues Jan 24/17 at 11:30-1:30. Jan 24/17 Trevor with Valley Countertops showed up at 10:30 unannounced and says he called but we have call display I checked this and he never called. He took pictures of crack and chips. Then informed they don't make this countertop edge anymore. Then looked under the countertop and said this all has to be changed, they were not installed properly. He asked what I wanted to do and should he patch up the crack. I replied I wanted the countertop replaced and installed properly not patched up. These countertops were installed Approximately April 24/2009, this date is from the bills so not sure when the exact install date was. I now know why they want to repair the crack as they don't make this countertop edge anymore. He left and said he will be in contact with Home Depot. Jan 26/17 Uma from Home Depot customer care called and a file has been started and if I have any problems it is on file. They will take 2 days to decide how to fix this problem. Feb 27/17 I received a letter from Cosentino from Sugarland Texas the supplier of the counter top and said there would be no warranty on these countertops I have the letter. How can someone from Texas decide if there is any warrant by looking at pictures. March 16/17 I spoke to Kevin Cutting at the Kelowna Home Depot he is the manager of kitchen products. He filed a complaint with David Finnegan and will have him check on this file and let me know what is going on. Never did hear from David Finnegan March 22/17 Uzma from customer care called me and said it had been escalated to her and that she will review the file and speak to David Finnegan and get back to me. March 22/17 I called Uzma back and she informed me there is no warranty, these countertops have a 15 year warranty on the forms I have. I told her what Trevor had told me that they were not installed properly in the first place. Then I told her about the big warranty sign they have in there store, then she wanted me to go to the store and take a picture of it and send to her. I told her I was done doing all the foot work. The she said she will call me back on Thursday. She never called me back. April 3/17 I called Uzma back. I was told she was on another call. I was told my file had been sent to head office and they will mail me a letter with there decision. I asked them to have Uzma call me when she is free. He replied he would have her call me today. April 4/17 Uzma never called me so I called her back again today. Waited 8 minutes on hold, she answered the phone and I told her who it was and she hung up. I called back and wanted to speak to her supervisor and they wouldn't put me thru or give me a name. Told me Uzma was gathering documents and will call me back today. I hung up at 13:10 my time and she never called me back. April 5/17 I called Uzma back again today and was told she is on break and not taking calls, I asked to speak to her supervisor Erin. Uzma called me back at 12:30 and said a decision was mailed out and she would not tell me what the decision was. I asked he if she had been getting my messages, she replied yes but she was to busy with other stuff to call me back, this went on for a week after her saying she would call me back last Thursday and never did. May 5/17 I recieved the letter from Home Depot declining the warranty. I took this letter into Kevin Cutting at Kelowna Home Depot, and he is going to give a copy to the store manager and pass it on to David Finnegan also, never did hear back from read more

Window supply & install July 2017 Streamline sent out there measurer prior to ordering windows. When Streamline arrived to install the windows in September 2017 8 of the 13 windows were the wrong size. The first 2 they tried to install actually fell through the opening. The workers disappeared for about 1/2 hour and returned and cut 3/4 plywood into strips which resulted in the 2 windows being 3" narrower and 3" shorter. Also when the windows arrived 2 were scratched which we were told that Home Depot was supposed to check before Streamline took delivery, apparently not. When they started to install front 5 window bay unit, it took over an hour to remove 1 window so worker phoned boss and proposed removing window entirely and reframing new one. Streamline built new frame but it was not reset back into opening at the same angle as the one they removed, which caused concern with finishing on the inside. 1 of the windows was also installed lower than the other 4. Also the drip flange installed over each window was too wide and had raw edge. The workers arrived to install unprepared for what had to be done. They had no flange nor blue skin. We had to insist on them installing blue skin. Their comment was it wasn't required. More to come 1 of the narrower/shorter windows was not centered and we had to insist they re-install correctly. 1 of the windows on the front 5 bay windows was hung lower than other 4. Original metal drip strip was not brought to work site so installers had to get from local building supply. They installed only type available, too wide and raw edge, unsafe. Kitchen window was too high for opening so old garden window removed and new put in with 2 screws 1/2 in and 1/2 out of opening. Home Depot forgot to order replacement windows for scratched ones and when we phoned to see were they were we were told Home Depot would "babysit" replacements. We were told windows arrived 1st week of December. We contacted Streamline to get installation before Christmas but were told wouldn't be till new year. We had to tell Streamline to make sure they came equipped with scaffold so didn't have to stand on roof that had snow & ice on it. They used boards and only 1 guy did install for about a 3' x 5' window. Scary. All the metal trims were replaced in winter so all caulking no good and had to be redone and in spring we finally got flashing replaced with what we wanted and re-caulked. Re-caulking was wrong color so we will have to paint. Smart board used for trim was also too narrow for our siding. Streamline stated that is what everybody used and basically live with it. We will have to paint/seal every piece of siding where it meets the smart board. 1 of the sliders didn't latch properly. Guy from Streamline spent 1 hour trying to fix and told us that was best he could do. Still was sticky. We ended up adjusting latch ourselves, apparently installer didn't know about latch adjuster. We attempted to get Scott from Streamline Enterprises to contact us as we were not happy with finished job. He finally came out and checked job himself and we showed him the problem the new bay window frame had caused on the inside drywall. He sent out installer to fix and he dry walled and the finished job is an absolute joke. I emailed pictures to Scott, who acknowledged that was no way to leave a job and we would hear from them to repair. Still haven't heard. At 1 point during the whole process I told Home Depot I didn't want Streamline Enterprises back on the property and they threatened us by saying if we didn't use Streamline our window warranty would be void. I guess if you buy windows from Home Depot and install yourself there is no warranty? Also the 2 of the upstairs slider windows had different lock catches. Home Depot also supplied 2 xo windows instead of 1 xo and 1 ox. There is more that occurred on almost daily basis. Too much to list. Streamline Enterprises is supposed to be bonded but we had a worker who told us he had only been in Canada for 2 days. I doubt you can vet someone in 2 days. read more

I received the very best service anyone could imagine. I ordered a barbeque from Home Depot to be assembled and delivered to my home. They went out of their way to fix a problem with the barbeque assembly by sending an employee to my home. Brandon, deserves credit for going beyond my expectations in replacing a part to the barbeque and returned to my home the following day to fix that too. The quality of product at Home Depot is far superior than that what you would find at a Rona store. I waited for almost 45 minutes to find somebody to help me when I went to Rona. I went back after dinner and an older gentleman named Bill not only asked what I was looking for he searched until he found the model and brought it up front. Very friendly and helpful guy.
