Good work. Always overcharging by 500%+. I'm not exaggerating. They were going to charge $1200 for work that a certified independent mechanic did for $500. They'll also (try to) get you to change parts long before you need to. Finally, they are extremely discriminating to English speakers. They literally told an English speaker to go to Ontario instead of seeking work at their establishment. If you don't speak French, still ask for your mechanic report in English but note that all parts will be in French. TL;DR: They will do good work, overcharge you, recommend work long before it's due, and discriminate against you if you're Anglo or coloured. read more

I bought a power bar mastercraft there for 35$ and another component to charge my phone in my car that I paid $60. I bought the power bar less than a year ago and it wouldn't work after a few months. I have one at home that it's been in my cave for 10 years and it still working. Same for the component for my car, But I didn't keep the receipt. We are in 2021 guys wake up. They got stuck in the old time to keep the advantage for them to make sure that they won't give you a full discount on product that is problematic. they know most of people don't keep their receipts. When many other stores keep track of your receipts. Don't buy master craft it will break Just by looking at it. The manager Bouchard was really rude with a good customer like me that go there two times a week. She wanted to give me $15 for something that they know it was problematic. So I have to come back there because you sold something to me that doesn't work. I have to lose time there and over the top you want to give me back $15 because I don't have my receiptI? Finally decide to call the company directly and they were able to give me a full discount that i will receive by the mail. Thanks for their customer services I did not have to fight with them at all. First time experience at this place was I brought my car for a check-up (gas smell) and tire-change. The day after, they called me and informed that the car was ready. I came and they said that there was no issue with the car in the checkup report and the tire was changed. When I got home and unloaded the tires, I realized that they didn't change the tire yet and under the car, the fuel line was leaked (dropping fuel under the car, which was never happened before). I came back for a complaint and had the tire changed after but reject to be responsible for the fuel line leak. Now let me share my second time experience there, I have a tesla model 3 with flat tire issue. I called them and after 20 minutes of waiting on the line, I talked to a customer service person to explain the issue. The guy told me to bring the car right away because they have slot available. I immediately used the portable pump machine to get some air for the tire and got my way to their place. It was a hassle for driving a car that I had to stop every 5 minutes trying to pump the tire to get going. Finally I made myself there and a customer service guy named Nathane Francoise (little attitude boy) told me that they didn't know how to fix a flat tire in a Tesla car and reject to be responsible even though I had talked with them on the phone before. I requested to talk to their manager and he went to the back, pretended to have his phone to talk to someone and then came back and said his boss named Eric Duteau was not available and gave me a business card and told me to go away. I tried to call the number on the business card to talk to the boss and the phone rang, but he hung up right after. After everything, I highly warn every persons that want to have their car in service at this place. The employees there are very rude and the boss is also not being responsible and really show a sign of unprofessional (the boss supposes to call me the day after to discuss, but he totally disappear). Right now sitting down writing my review, I was laughing because they told me they don't know how to fix a flat tire because it is Tesla car and they really need a specialist to fix it. I ended up going to a local mechanic shop and have it fixed in 10 minutes for 20 bucks. Well, I will let you guys decide after reading my story then. read more

I was picking up my friend's bike that she had left in to be repaired because they had told her it would be ready that day and she had to work. I wandered in there with the pick up ticket and proceeded to wait in the customer service line up for about 15 minutes. When it was finally my turn, I asked about the bike and the man at the counter pointed in a random direction and said "Bikes are over there" then he started talking to the next person in line. Lost and confused, I walked over to the bikes and waved down an employee. I explained to him my situation and he told me to wait while he went to go check. HALF AN HOUR later he came back to tell me that they were working on it and it would be ready in half an hour. I figured I would just wait and parked my butt on some outdoor furniture that was on display. After half an hour had passed I went back to the desk in the bike section and no one was there. I waited. And waited. And waited. Finally a different employee walked over to the desk, completely ignored me and started helping another customer then walked away and never came back. I waited some more. Almost an hour and a half after I was told the bike would be ready in half an hour, the original employee who helped me noticed I was still waiting, casually walked over and told me the bike mechanic had gone home so I would have to pick the bike up tomorrow. I have NEVER received such horrible customer service in my entire life. I waited a total of almost 2 hours and walked away empty handed. I will NEVER shop at this Canadian Tire again. read more

I've been here twice since I moved to Montreal from NYC 9 months ago and I'll say be careful what services you come here for some are ridiculously overpriced even compared to NYC cost of living. Most recently my "check engine soon" light went off and I thought I'd come by to just see what the problem was and if it was serious, to get it fixed. I know the process is a quick one. They plug in the computer, get a code and the code corresponds to a warning. 5 tops probably more like 1 min for a teained mechanic. They told me to just check the code -- not even get any repairs done or anything else -- would cost me $80. I had to ask twice to be sure. If you even have a little tiny bit of tech or car knowledge DO NOT PAY $80 FOR THIS. First of all if you walk literally 1 minute to the other side of the store you can buy the code reader yourself from their own shelves for $60. I just saved you $20 and if it ever comes on again, tada! My free gift to you. If you're a little patient you can buy a basic version of the obd 2 reader (name of the machine) online for about $20. I borrowed one from a coworker and found out the warning I had was from a temperature warning. Basically all I had to do was let it cool down. Which by this time my car had already been doing for a week. I reset the warning light and it hasn't come back on since. Thank goodness I didn't pay for that. I would recommend checking online to gauge the seriousness of you warning and decide of its worth bringing to a mechanic after, but at least either way you didn't spend $80 just to know the warning. BTW this service (get the warning code) is free in the USA from any reputable mechanic and then you can look up the code on your phone. On a separate trip, I came here to get my oil changed and tires rotated. Tire rotation was also quite pricey although not quite as appallingly so. Prob not worth it for the average Canadian though since you have to swap your tires in the winter anyway. The oil change was a decent price. Overall service was good and quick. People were friendly. So, as I said before just be careful of what you come here for. read more

As a regular customer of Canadian Tire, I have use the garage services for my 2 cars, recently I took a Jeep Patriot to get a noise from a belt, in order to do this I drop the car before I went to work, I started at 7 am, so i have to get up at 5 am to drop the car, I came back at 5 pm and to my surprise the noise was the same, by this time I have pay over 400.00 dollars, next day Peter have told my wife by phone that in order to fix the car I will have to pay about 200.00 more, since the car belong to my wife and she drives my kids around and on the weekend she work, I found myself between a rock and a hard place, it would have been very nice if the mechanic call us to tell us that he need to do and extra work in order to fix the problem, I have to say that Alexander the service representative was very apologetic , nice guy, just a note to managers, please let your mechanics know all the inconvenient a Family have whe they don't do the right thing at the right time. read more
