Very disappointed with my experience at Canadian Tire Auto Service Yesterday June 4th When I booked my wheel alignment, I was told they usually allow extra time in their schedule in case any issues are found that may need additional repairs. My appointment was booked for 12:30 p.m. I arrived before my scheduled time and asked how long the service would take. I was told approximately 1.5 hours. The guy named Doug who booked me in was fully aware that I had to be at work by 3:00 p.m. and assured me that the vehicle should be ready by 2:30 p.m. at the latest. Based on that information, I decided to keep the appointment. As 3:00 p.m. approached, I checked in again to ask about the status of my vehicle. Another employee informed me that there was still a car on the hoist ahead of mine and that they would let me know when it was my car's turn. Around 3:20 p.m., I noticed my vehicle was still sitting untouched in the corner of the service bay. After waiting nearly three hours without any work being started on my vehicle, I decided to take my car back and leave because I was already late for work. I understand that delays can happen, but what frustrated me most was the lack of communication and the fact that I was given unrealistic expectations about the wait time. Had I been told there would be a significant delay, I could have made other arrangements. We came in because our vehicle broke down on our vacation to Canada. The work did not hold and the vehicle broke again back in the states, not once, but twice. We were able to determine when we got home that the work done at Canadian tire was at fault for the repair failing over and over. We were obviously not able to take advantage of their warranty at that point, being back in the US. I spoke with management, was even told we would be getting refunded for the repair at a certain point. This has not happened and I'm tired of calling and talking about it. read more

The service department is absolutely TERRIBLE. Will never bring my vehicle there ever again. Asked to diagnose an issue with my van and they didn't even properly check the fuel filter or the fuel pump. They told me my carb was needing to be replaced- turns out it wasn't. It was my fuel pump and filter- which were never even checked. Additionally, they didn't lock my doors while the van sat for days in their parking lot. read more

My 9 month pregnant Girlfriend went to get another out of province inspection done since the first one we had to wait for a seat buckle to come in from Kia, they said we needed the buckle and timing belt done to pass the inspection so that's what we did. Well with her going in and I am at work and also having her due any minute we needed to get the car done. She goes in and waits up to around 3 hours which was whatever since it takes an hour and a half to do we get it they can be busy so the time wasn't that big of a deal till they told her that the seat belt still needs to be done so does the back light and exhaust heat shield that need to be done to pass the safety but the first time they said the The heat shield doesn't have to be done since it's still there. It's just cracked and that it was just a buckle that was missing that needs to be done. The first guy that did the inspection did not check the actual belt and it is broken and ripped. And to replace the burnt out lightbulb, they had to redo the whole assembly so they were trying to charge her 1600 to get fixed when you can change the light bulb for like eight dollars. Canadian Tire - How do you miss that?!?!? - Department Stores Near Me - Okotoks, Alberta

Went into the service shop to have front end checked out for a noise in the left front. Was told of a worn part on the right side. Informed them that the noise was coming from the left and I need to have problem found. Service writer told me that the mechanic does not take kindly to communication. I asked to have another look as I have been a mechanic for 30+ years and I know he is missing something. My truck stayed parked in the shop. I could see it. I asked what was going on. No answer. 30 minutes later I paid the bill and left. Called store manager to speak with them and was told they will call me back. One week later still nothing. I went home and crawled under the truck to find left front shock rubber missing. I retired my trade but it seems finding a honest reliable shop is going be difficult. . read more

They had exactly what I was looking for tonight and it was pleasantly surprised that so it's almost December in Calgary they had wood smoker chips staff is friendly and knowledgeable shells are far from bear stores well-stocked tidy and well-organized. read more

Do not take your vehicle to these jokers, the people working the service desk are killing time until they can collect their old age pension......even the lady at the registry office told me not to take my vehicle there. I should have listened. It was a nightmare from start to finish, I even had to take a day off work to finally get things settled. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

Took my car here 3 years ago to have an out of town safety done... was told that it needed front brakes and the rear were border line acceptable... did the front ones but left the rear... 3 years later and 150,000 km just took my car in to check the brakes and the rear ones only had 30% wear on them... pretty sure I was ripped off, however, at best totally lied too... this is not the place to take your car if you want to be treated honestly... read more

Was recently at this store with my 75 year old mother looking for a can of paint,couldnt find anyone in the section to help us so i asked a young lady if anyone was working this section,with a answer of someone should be there,walked away,,,finally finding another young person I had to ask him twice before he would help us,,getting to the checkout,went to one till with another young lady snapping at my mother that she wasnt open,so we proceeded to another till with 5 others in line when we heard her saying she was now open,,,,VERY DISAPPOINTING read more

Took my SUV for an oil change. They put 6 litres of oil in a vehicle that holds less than 4.5 liters. My husband removed excess oil, whatever had not run onto the garage floor. Took vehicle back to Canadian Tire, they said they washed under the hood and that it was not an oil leak but was power steering fluid leaking. It continued to leak oil onto my garage floor so I took it to my mechanic who said "THEY DID NOT PUT THE OIL PLUG IN PROPERLY" If they can't do a simple oil change..I wouldn't trust them to do anything else. read more

My car had a weird breakdown, after having it towed here, the problem was fixed, with no delay. The man on the phone was nice, and the different man in person was kind, and got to the root of the problem quickly. As I do not live in Okotoks, the service was very much appreciated! I recently bought a set of cookware from Canadian Tire that didn't stand up. The hollow lids started filling up with water .... the metal water stained and I couldn't clean them. They were a $2399 set that I bought on sale for $699. Three months and 3 days from date of purchase I tried to return them. Their policy is that they will accept a return for cash up to 3 months from purchase date, and not a day later, even if the article proves defective. The one bright spot in this whole fiasco was a young lady named "ALLIE". She kept her cool, and did everything she could for me. She was the liaison between myself and the manager. In the end we negotiated a return for credit, instead of cash .. I feel Allie made all the difference in me leaving angry and empty handed. If I could hire her, I would in a heartbeat ... BUT a note to the public: If you are going to buy anything of consequence I would go to Walmart, Costco or the Rona Store here in Okotoks, where you have the company backing you ..... read more
