Agreed to the $1300 dollars. after a few days got a call to for an additional $2500 in repairs. approved that. after a week My car was returned to me with the engine in the trunk and they said it could not be repaired. This is a huge store and it has pretty well has anything that you can think of from automotive, gardening, kitchen and bathroom, painting, sporting goods, small furniture, and I can go on and on. There also automotive services from purchasing and installing tires, to engine diagnostics and repair. I've never had to bring my truck here so I can't rate that area. One thing for sure, SO MANY SALE SIGNS! It feels like a third of this place is stocked with items that have been discounted...some as much as 77%! Lots of bins loaded with eye-popping deals. If you take the time look at comparable products and prices within a department, you may be able to get something with more features than an item that's on sale; smart shoppers know this! I didn't have to interact with staff on the floor but they seemed helpful with others. Don't forget to sign up for the Triangle Rewards program before going to checkout. My transaction was quickly processed and I was back out into the huge parking lot. BTW, a hot dog vendor is situated next to the doors leading into Automotive Service/Driving entrance. read more

Worst customer service! At the auto service counter! Dropped car off at 10am for a hour job and didn't get back till after 4pm!

2.5 Stars I don't know why but CT stores always have a weird smell- not so god awful but it's still there. They quiet funk of being an hour or two past when you should have showered. This location can be a pain to get into, especially on the weekends. The whole area actually is pretty congested so go early morning if you must go on a weekend. Everything from lighting to home decor (Debbie Travis) to kitchen items to cleaning supplies to of course car items are all found under one roof which is really convenient. The prices when on sale are actually really good and is the only reason I periodically check this place out. I just find the aisles crowded with bins and just not too easy to maneuver around if you have a cart or stroller. The other annoying thing is trying to get out of the store if you haven't bought anything - you basically have to squeeze yourself through the checkout line anyways. They still give back CT money which I was surprised at. I remember racking this money up back in the day. Sometimes it's difficult to find an associate on the floor but they have price checkers located throughout the store so that helps if you just want to confirm a price. Overall not the worst and like I mentioned before their sale prices are actually really good so for that reason I would come back. read more

5 star review for this Canadian Tire. I was looking for the product I wanted yesterday at a different location - quantity on website said they had stock. When I got there - they didn't have it - and advised that it is not up to date. I asked them when the sale would go until, and he told me next Thursday. Fine, no problem, I can still make it. What was worrisome was when I asked if I ordered it online, would I still get the sale price? He said I would, but if stock does not come in, they would just refund my order. But that really wouldn't have helped as I would have wasted more time and still not received my product! I was treated very well by this current location, when manager Andrew, helped me with my order. He fully understood what I was looking for and understood my frustration with the other location who gave me the incorrect information about the sale timeframe. Truly appreciated Andrew's assistance and quick problem solving. Would definitely choose this location over others due to the excellent service and well-informed staff. Got here right around opening for an emissions test. The staff was courteous and efficient checking me in. The test didn't take very long, about 20 minutes. There is a lounge to wait in that has free coffee, and there is also complimentary wifi to use while you wait. Overall it was a stress-free experience and the service was done at a reasonable price. read more

This is a review of my experience at the Auto Centre at this Canadian Tire branch. I had a flat in one of my tires. I switched the spare on and brought my flat in to get fixed here. The price was great (~25) for a patch, but about an hour later, they called me in to tell me that they couldn't find a puncture and it must've just been low tire pressure. I told them that was surprising because it was completely flat. I asked them to double check again, which they declined to do. The technician (Shane) wasn't in direct contact with me, but the sales person (Jessie) informed me it was a very thorough check. I ended up paying for an inspection ~$12 and drove home (~25km). The next morning, my wife pulled the car out of the garage and noticed the tire was completely flat again. We installed the spare once again but this time brought it in to a Toyota dealership. They found out right away one puncture in the tread and by the rim. Because we had pulled out of the garage, there was some damage to the sidewall as well. When I called Canadian Tire to give this feedback to the Auto Dept manager (Rod), he was unapologetic and interrogated why we were driving on a flat. When I asked if he would pay for any repair / tire costs necessary because of their negligence, he flat our refused. "Why would I pay for your maintenance?" After Toyota fixed my tire, I went directly to Canadian Tire to talk to Rod. He was rude and unapologetic for his own staff's negligence. It wasn't until he saw the tire himself that he agreed to at least refund the original inspection cost. My issue is that their staff's negligence ended up costing me a lot of time from work, money at another service center, a potential accident and cost for a brand new tire. Rod was unfriendly, unhelpful and I would highly recommend anyone against going to this specific branch for any auto service. read more

This is a rare instance I wish I could assign no stars at all. The retail area is unkept and junky. Often I've gone in looking for something only to find it in another area of the aisle. The auto centre is another piece of work. I've taken my vehicle there about a half dozen times experiencing average customer service. One time I was sitting in the waiting lounge for two hours and when I finally enquired when my car would be done they said they had been looking for me to ask a question. I made a stink and they offered me 10 per cent off which convinced me to return a few more times. My most recent experience was head shaking. I ordered new tires on a Saturday. They weren't in stock so I paid for them and they told me they'd call me in three hours when they came in. I didn't get a call that day. I called them on Tuesday - still no tires. Thursday, no tires. Saturday, no tires. The next Tuesday I went elsewhere and got the tires I wanted. When I returned to get a refund the service manager needed to check that they didn't have them in stock. When I asked him what it mattered if they were in stock or not he said he wanted to make sure they weren't on my car already. Despite my objections he left with my invoice, returning in 10 minutes telling me they didn't have any in stock. I told him I knew this, that's why I was there for a refund. Eventually he started to process my refund but didn't refund the labour! Thank goodness one of the ladies who works the customer service desk came and took over for him so I was able to get my refund. To top it all off, I had originally paid by debit so I had received $3 in Canadian Tire money (the tires, installation and a light I was having changed came to about $950). Because I didn't have the $3 in Canadian Tire money they deducted that from my refund. And finally - I paid by debit - but they told me they couldn't refund to debit so I was given $950 in cash. Ugh, I hate auto places, and I have yet to find one I like. I'm a young Asian woman, which apparently means I will be taken advantage of at every mechanic's opportunity. Had a flat due to hitting a pot hole (eff you, winter!) which dented my rim. The wheel itself was fine, just had to get the steel rim replaced on my winter tire. Had a spare on, brought it to the nearby Midas, who didn't have the rim I needed. I also needed to get my headlights replaced, so had that done at Midas, then went down Eglinton to Canadian Tire to get my rim replaced. Sat around for about 2 hours (which I'm sure could have been less, since I was looking at my car being worked on from the window in the lounge and could see quite a bit of relaxing/chatting/nothing going on. I was then approached by one of the customer service women, who proceeded to tell me that my brake lights were out, and asked if I'd like to get those done as well. Now,considering I had JUST HAD MY LIGHTS REPLACED/ CHECKED at Midas, and they had SHOWN me that my lights were working, I knew this was bulls*** and that it was a ploy to get me to cough up even more money. I informed the woman that no, my lights WERE in fact working, as I'd JUST had them done. She went back to let the guys working on my car know, then came back and said, "Sorry, our mistake". Eglinton W Auto Centre is the WORST - Went in July 31 - female auto centre staff not wearing masks and masks not covering noses, rendering them useless. I asked for a tune-up (was told wrong price) because I was going on a long road trip - after driving for 15 hours, the ENGINE LIGHT came on - precisely the situation I wanted to avoid by getting a tuneup. When I called the auto centre the woman told me to go to a Canadian Tire - there are none on the highway in the middle of northwestern Ontario?!? Got to Thunder Bay and they charged me an extra $300 for something that should have been caught in Toronto. I am still waiting for my refund - never setting foot in a Canadian Tire ever again. I love Canadian Tire. This location is the new style layout and carries everything you could want including the kitchen sink. The products are displayed well, selection is diverse and the prices are competitive. This garden center is one of the best in the area. When CT has a sale it is typically a great deal so check out the weekly flyer before you go wander the store. This location can look disorganized but it always has what you went there for. The service is average but they always try to help. read more

This location have a very poor pick up strategy. Don't go with their curbside pick up. Its a DRIVE THROUGH with no regard to how much you spend on your gas. The management should try to learn the system of Home Depot or Ikea. Canadian Tire management needs to "level up" their old system. Shameful to carry the Canadian name. read more

Numerous great experiences at this location, both from the customer service desk and the floor staff! The most recent one compelled me to voice my satisfaction. I was here with my toddler daughter looking for a dresser that wasn't on the floor. It looked like they were reorganizing the aisles so things looked a bit in limbo. I asked a bigger gentleman with a beard named Terry for help. I showed him the item on my phone for a second, he walked over to the computer and found it (I appreciate that he was able to memorize the item # so quickly). After a few minutes, he appeared with the dresser in a cart, and helped me check out, and even brought the dresser to my car with me and loaded it (it was heavy for me)! Made my day. Had a really bad experience here trying to return a mastercraft garage door opener that is brand new in the unopened box that was purchased from this store and has a sticker on the box with the store number on it. They would not take it back because I did not have the receipt that I purchased it with because I wasn't planning on returning it so I didn't keep the receipt. I was only seeking a store credit for the lowest sale price not any cash refund. I tried returning it but the csr denied it. I then called head office, they couldn't help but suggested that I speak to the store manager Karen Paor​because she may be more reasonable. I called Karen and left her a message. One week later still no call back so I emailed her, got a response the next day saying she was out of the province, that's why she didn't call me back. She told me to send her the product number and approximate date that I purchased it. I replied right away with the information she wanted but she didn't bother to ever respond again. The reason I want to return it is because when I called companies to install it they all said that they don't touch mastercraft brand openers because they're garbage. I then checked the reviews and this was confirmed. It's obvious that they know this product is not good but instead of discontinuing it or fixing it's design flaws they just keep on selling it to unsuspecting customers. I think that in this day and age when they are competing with many other retailers who all take back new in the unopened box items without receipts especially for only store credit when it's clear that the item is from their store, that not taking it back just doesn't make good business sense because it will leave a sour taste in the consumers mouth that will lead them to no longer want to buy Canadian when they encounter a situation like this. So I recommend everyone to buy from reputable retailers that will treat you right and take back their own products that are junk. I'm still waiting to hear back from Karen Paor... read more

Eventhough this location is a little difficult to get into, especially on weekends, due to the other stores that surround it, it doesn't bother me and I appreciate the variety of other businesses that I also may want to drop in on! The store as usual is huge and I never find it short of staff, that are more than willing to assist you with your needs. As for the line ups at the cashes, there are either too few open with long lines or they're all open with huge line ups, what to do? So...I went to the Kingston Rd/St. Clair location of Canadian tire AFTER Christmas to purchase a new Christmas tree since ours had seen better days and was ready for the trash. I spoke with a staff member to ask if I could return this tree after taking it home and setting it up to see if I liked it, since stuff never looks like the picture on the box...I was told no. No returns on seasonal items. I asked to speak with the manager. Finally located the individual I was told was the manager, and he said the same...no...no return on seasonal items. I said I could understand if it was before Christmas, but it is AFTER Christmas, and I just want to see if I actually like the tree once set up. He said no, I would have to speak with the store manager...I said, I was told you are the manager...he said he is the manager of sports and seasonal items...I said...this IS a seasonal item!!! And...can I then speak to the manager...was told the manager wasn't there and I could go to the larger store at Warden and Eglinton to see if the tree is on display there to see if I liked it. So...I go to the store at Warden and Eglinton, and sadly they were out of stock of the tree I hoped to purchase at the Kingston and St. Clair location, but I did see another that I liked. I asked a staff member in the seasonal department if I purchased this tree, set it up and it didn't fit in my living room...could I return it? (The tree was 1.5 feet bigger than I had expected to buy), and she said yes. I said, are you sure? She looked for the seasonal manager to confirm, and again...yes...so I get to the cash register and ask again...again, yes...I could return because it's after Christmas. Kudos to the Warden and Eglinton location manager for ensuring their staff actually know store policies. Shame on the Kingston and St. Clair manager for not doing the same!! read more
