Wow the worst customer service I've ever had. I bought a pair of boots this morning. From Sidney Canadian worst boots I've ever bought. Killed my feet in only an 8 hour shift So I went to return them because you know Canadian tire is Canadian tire same company and MARK THE PROMO MANAGER (who should not in that position, let alone have a job at CT) refused to give me my money back and would only do it on a gift card because it was from a different store or told me I would have to drive back to Sydney for my cash cause he couldn't resell the horrible boots this place is a clown show. Instead, I received an experience that was both alarming and unacceptable. After picking up the car, the check engine light was suddenly on--something that was never an issue before I dropped it off. When I questioned the staff, they casually claimed there were new "problems" with the car and tried to push unnecessary and expensive repairs that made no sense given the condition it was in prior to service. It became clear this was not a coincidence but rather a case of intentional tampering or carelessness. My car's safety was compromised, and this could have endangered me and my family. We had to take the car elsewhere for a second opinion, and as expected, we were told there was nothing wrong and that repairs were not needed at all. This level of dishonesty, lack of accountability, and disregard for customer safety is completely unacceptable. I will never return to this location or recommend Canadian Tire to anyone looking for reliable vehicle service. This experience eroded all trust. Very bad experience at the automotive centre here. The manager has no customer service skills. My vehicle went in to fix the parking brake, the job needed to have some 'exploratory' work done first... Fine, however the job was still to fix the parking brake, instead I received a long list of items that they wanted to fix based off of their exploratory work. I was out of province at the time and i guess they figured they would be able to confuse my wife with the list. She was quite adamant about needing only the parking brake done. When I talked to them before the work started I also was clear about what we wanted, and also made it clear that I needed an estimate. The day passed and the next call I got from them was to say that they had completed the work. Completely unacceptable considering I hadn't received any estimate and did not give any permission to do anything, my wife did not receive an estimate or any information either. We ended up getting a complete brake replacement on the rear and a bunch of lights put in. The lights were almost $65 each for a $4 dollar bulb that my wife replaces on her own... Wanted to replace one today and it turns out that they put Loctite on the bolts to hold the housing in. Infuriating, just trying to get us to come back? We also ended up with a complete but unnecessary brake job on the rear, (the parking brake still doesn't work very well) the whole bill came to over $1200. When we tried to discuss the bill and hopefully recover some of the money we were being ripped off for the automotive manager basically called us liars. But when he produced the actual receipt and estimate there was no parking brake on there at all. He then reprinted the bill still with no parking brake on it... He said it must have been an error. He was quite generously offering us a $50 discount to go ahead and fix the parking brake, which was going to be an additional $1300. What a deal. Clearly a subpar performance. The worst part of it all is the incredibly arrogant attitude that he took with my wife and myself. I had to participate over the phone, he was frustrated by the truth and slammed my wife's phone on the counter. He not only lied to us, he also lied to his manager. I currently have a warranty at this location for brake parts and I am curious to see the reaction when I bring them in for replacement. I will be doing the work myself however. I will never recommend this automotive centre to anyone, in fact I will actively discourage it. Especially while Noel is the manager. Nobody needs to deal with the arrogance or the lies or the shady upselling. read more

Poor experience. At many mechanics, a computer diagnostic takes a few minutes and may even be done for free before discussing repairs. Here it is $150, you have to wait two days for an appointment, and even then we waited two hours. Also, it was disappointing to ask for the specific code from the diagnostic computer multiple times, by phone and face-to-face, and still not receive it. The estimate was high. Of the five things suggested, only one was related to what I asked them to look into. After asking follow-up questions, it became clear they were not sure the repair they recommended would even fix the problem. Will not return. read more

I am writing to say how VERY DISAPPOINTED I was with the level of service and care from the PARTY Balloon section of the store and how I was treated. My husband bought a $15.99 Single Balloon (taxes in was $17.91!) for our grandson and the balloon was not fully filled at the time he came out of the store. He had other things and didn't really notice it. We carried on and the next day I brought it back for a replacement and MEL the service rep at the counter said she couldn't do ANYTHING for me as I didn't call and report the situation to them the day before......grrrrr!!!! but at the TOP of the RECEIPT of the CANADIAN TIRE BILL the is EXCHANGES AND REFUNDS REQUIRE RECEIPT AND PHOTO ID WITHIN 90 DAYS, PRODUCTS MUST BE IN NEW ; UNUSED AND IN ORIGINAL CONDITION. RETURN IWHT RECEIPT AND CT$.....I DID PRESENT THIS TO MEL AND SHE STILL SAID "NO SORRY!"........ I was on the phone for 3 hours trying to find an article that Canadian Tire listed. I contacted 5 different stores & found the odd person that tried to help. Then I called this location and the manager ensured I got what I wanted. I must stress that he went ABOVE AND BEYOND what any of the other stores would do. I had almost given up when I spoke to him and he made my day & my Christmas. His kindness and cooperation is indicative of a great manager & something other managers should emulate. Canadian Tire isn't known for their customer service, but I wish this store was on the lower mainland. I wanted to get a new set of tires for my vintage VW van . decided to go to C T but stopped at Kal tire on the way to see what they offered . they suggested the Vanco a light truck tire made by Continental for commercial vehicles and vans . Perfect . So then I went to C T , two guys behind the counter neither one doing anything as far as I could see . I stood there being ignored for a few minutes till guy A asks what I need . I told him I wanted a set of tires for my VW van and started giving him the size .Guy B interrupted me and said "you can't get them" ,I looked at guy A who repeated that. So I tried to suggest another size only to be interrupted again by guy B saying" you can't get them" and again repeated by guy A ." You can't get them " . they would not listen to me when I tried to tell them they were available . they did not even look at their computers and seemed intent on not serving me . I said fine ,I'll go to Kal tire and walked away .they shouted something at me as I left but I could not make it out . I have been a C T customer for over 40 years , I've never been treated rudely by C T staff .always polite and helpful .Those two were unbelievably rude and arrogant . But here is the real thing .C T sells Continental tires and could have got me those tires easy like Kal tire did when I stopped and ordered them on my way home . read more

I called the langford canadian tire on August 2 2020,wanting an answer for a simple question from the automotive department. They put me through and nobody is answering. So now I have been on hold for over 10 minutes and still waitng. What a piss poor way to answer calls for a simple questions. Doesn't anybody there know how to answer the phones? Sure doesn't seem like it. Customer service does not have a clue on how to respond to questions. They told me that they would tell the automotive department sales counter to pick up when it rings and they can't even do that. Where did they find these Employees anyways? Limited selection of replacement vehicle headlights in dual packs and the single bulbs are priced significantly higher. When the department manager was asked if he would match the price of the out-of-stock dual package for the purchase of two identical single products, he refused to even consider the request. Since the dual packs were sold out, I was told to either pay more or wait until stock arrives in approximately three seeks. Customer service is a no longer a priority for Canadian Tire in Langford. Two part review. Langford 1. Automotive repair--they always wait until your car is up on the hoist to advise of some impending emergency that could be dealt with right now while the car is on the hoist. They didn't realize that I had had the repair they were suggesting done at my local garage two weeks earlier. Totally dishonest !!!! 2. Called the store (Langford again) to find out the status of my online order. 250-474-2291, then dial 101 for online orders--message came back--incorrect entry ??? Tried this three times with the same message. Finally got through to customer service --told her about the message--no real answer from her. Just well, maybe, the 101 wasn't connected right--well do something about it then. As to my order--it might be ready later today or maybe tomorrow, but the girl who is picking the order is working on yesterdays orders. The item was in stock. What is the matter with these people and customer service ? Just a gong show. I will not buy from them (unless the item is in the flyer and on sale at a good price) or take my car there ever again. read more

BE WARE OF MASTERCARD LADY I went to Canadian Tire at Langford Pkwy to buy dumbbells today. The lady at the entrance told me if I sign up for Canadian Tire mastercard I will get 15% discount today and the process takes 2 to 3 mins. She completed my application and told me to wait for 5 min. After 30 min, application was still under process, I asked her to cancel my application. She "logged out" from the tablet and told me that my application is cancelled. After 45 min wait, mastercard application was approved. I received 15% CT money not the discount. Canadian Tire should pay me for wasting my time and give me 15% discount. read more

First time I was not impressed I called the service parts team at automotive. I told them the vin #, and info. They said I had to order two parts because he didn't know which would be for my car despite me giving vin and info. Told it would take 2 month, he was also very rude. I then called the Admirals branch, they were polite, had no problem knowing what part and said it be there in 4 days. 2nd time I was in hospital , could not make Black Friday. Item on sale for 4 days , I phoned they said if I got there next day they would honour sale. Next day I found it by paint section, the girl there said same thing they would honour it and to carry to front. I was just in hospital but carried the big box regardless, no mention to ask if I needed help. Get to front they said they would not honour sale. Called Maurice the head of complaints , left a message Tuesday and no reply. Called again two days later left a message , no reply. Called tonight manager said she would call Maurice. She got back yo me and said no they would not honour it. Despite all the wrong info from employees and medical situation. Complaints department is obviously a joke and you will get no where. Staff are rude and give you the wrong info. The night I went I bought work boots at til and lady tells us they are over $200 meanwhile it was $106.Then as we leave the alarm goes off because she did not take the sticker off . She laughed at both mistakes. I can see why they are rated so low on stars. I live in Langford but will never go back. I will drive to Admirals for the great customer service and proper info. My mistake for trying to is location out again. I will also be making a review on Google and anywhere else I can. Don't bother going there or trying to make a complaint Maurice will not get back to you. They easily could have honoured that deal. I took my car in to have my tires changed over. I was told I had a rear light out. I replied that I had been told by a tow truck operator that all my rear lights were not working which I presumed was an electrical issue. The manager said no only one was out and said he would change the light bulb. Nearly $50 for a light bulb change and a couple days later it stopped working again. I contacted the manager at the Langford location and was faced with a rude response and he was not willing to correct the issue. I will never return to have auto work done at this store. I run two businesses myself and if I treated my customers in the rude manner that I was treated in I would not expect to have any business. read more

DO NOT GO THERE! I've had a car inspected before purchasing it. I got a call 30 minutes before my appointment saying the owner had brought it in earlier and they are almost done. I should have known something was fishy, but made the mistake of trusting the Canadian Tire name for being impartial and professional with pre-purchase inspections. Now I am sure that they were paid by the owner to not check for anything. They charged me $130 (!!) and told me it was "in excellent condition, not a single thing needs attention". I bought the car and drove it home. The next day the engine shuts off while I was driving and the car wasn't starting after that. I had to take it to a shop and replace the battery and the spark plugs. The store manager (at Langford, BC) said they take no responsibility once the car leaves the shop, and if you make it home alright it means they did their job. I also talked to the Canadian Tire corporate and they said that there is never any mechanical or electrical inspection done, only visual. Therefore there is no problem with the car breaking down after you leave the shop! Wow! I wish they'd tell you that before they start 'working' on your car.... read more

This is a PSA for anyone else who might be as naive and trusting as I can be. I've been taking my car to the Canadian Tire in Langford for regular oil changes for almost 2 years. I don't know much about cars, but since they are a big Canadian company with a reputation to uphold, I thought I could trust them to give me HONEST information about my vehicle. I brought my Ford Escape in for an oil change at the end of January and they told me that it needed a 600$ urgent repair; something to do with a ball joint, control arms and other phrases that aren't a part of my language, but the man at the counter basically told me that my steering and tires would be affected and eventually my wheel would fall to the side. The man wanted me to leave my car with them right then and there for the day so it could get fixed but I was already on my way up island and I don't have much money, so I asked how urgent it was and he said "I definitely would not wait. Bring it in as soon as you can and do not drive hard when you go up island." I should have taken it as a warning sign that this "urgent" repair was unnoticed by the same technicians when my car was in for an oil change only 3 months prior. I made an appointment for the following week with Canadian Tire, but later cancelled it because I remembered my car has extended warranty at Ford so maybe this expensive repair could be partially covered. 600$ might not seem like a lot to some people, but for me, that's a huge amount of money that I do not just have on hand. I already suffer from anxiety, so meanwhile for the last 10 days I've been a complete nervous wreck wondering how I'm going to afford this bill and thinking my car is going to fall apart on the highway. Luckily, when I brought my car into Glenoak Ford today and paid another 80$ for them to do a full assessment of my vehicle, Ford told me that "my car is just fine." So now I know the hard way that unfortunately Canadian Tire cannot be trusted and that the 200$ battery they told me I needed last summer was probably not necessary. Pet owners beware, I frequented this store often and am disappointed to write this but the outcome of my shopping experience landed me a $500 vet bill. This store has a mouse/ rat problem (which isn't the issue but) resulted in a bait station being left out accessible from the aisle. I was looking for a product when I noticed my leash go taught, my pup was at something on the ground, I pulled her away and picked up a rat bait station that was carelessly exposed left unnoticed. My pup ended up showing symptoms of poisoning so I rushed her into the emergency vet and asked for a follow up, twice, or a call back. I was't looking to get anyone in trouble or make problems for the management but an apology indicating someone f*cked up have been nice. One of the staff (Bryce M.) was stupid enough to try and point out it was my error for bringing my dog into the store and not watching her close enough. I will never shop here again, I will be sure to tell every person I know in every trade, and every dog owner not to shop here, and I will be certain risking my dogs health and costing me in return will cost the company thousands in lost sales. * nice work CT* read more

Terrible place to make your purchases. Even worse for returns. The reason is the owners are too cheap to properly staff this location. There could be 30 people lined up for one cashier. The staff are nice, and work hard, but they are run off of their feet. The store is a good size with reasonable selection but plan on an extra 15-30 minute to get out of the store with your purchase. Unless you're like several people I saw today who just dropped their goods and left. They likely went to the next nearest Canadian Tire, at Admirals in View Royal. I would bet that you could have two people both start from the same Langford parking lot, one go to the Langford store, the other drive over to the View Royal store, purchase the same item and meet back at the Langford store, and the person who went to Admirals would be done quicker. Come On Langford Canadian Tire, quit cheaping out and hire a few more people! While you're at it, maybe pay a little more than basic minimum wage. Your people must be worth at least 15/hour. read more

Asked for a front shock for my truck and brought in the old one to see if they had a match as it has a front levelling kit and is not stock. parts "manager" has some serious issues with people. Very rude and condescending. He said he wasn't going to help me. Then made fun of me in front of another customer. His exact words were "do you think I have all day to find you a matching shock?" Sorry I was mistaken that this was your JOB. Went to Lordco and they got the shock for me right away although it's Lordco prices which is a whole other issue. I started buying my parts online and if you know the part number they are less than half the price on the retail stores. Rock auto online is now my go to for parts. I stopped at Canadian tire (Langford) to see if they could take 10 minutes to look under my vehicle to see what needed to be repaired. I had backed into a post and the muffler was making a lot of noise especially when starting the vehicle. I was told in no uncertain terms by the service manager "no can't do it, we're booked" without even so much as looking up from what he was doing on his computer. I said I had come all the way from sooke and again not looking up said "you should have booked an appointment ". I understand if they're busy but his attitude was less than helpful if not rude, not to mention my husband has stopped there a few times and had them look at his vehicle without an appointment so I didn't think I would need to book a time. I went to two other places (Midas and Island Brake and Muffler) and they checked my vehicle on the spot and gave me a quote with no appointment. They were pleasant to deal with and answered all my questions. I will not be returning to Canadian tire Langford in the future. read more

They have NO idea what customer service means. I took my one item to the customer service desk where two staff were in a discussion about where an item might be found. They did not stop the conversation to acknowledge me. When they were finally done (they never did figure it out) the cashier rudely asked me what she could help me with. I said I wanted to make a purchase. She said she would have to take everyone in the other lines first before she could serve me. At any other Crappy Tire store, or any other store for that matter, when the customer service desk is open they actually serve the customers, and part of that is ringing through transactions. I cant even give the Auto Service Dept a single star! The Dept Manager Simon is the worst to manipulate women and the elderly by telling them their car needs so much more done. I had them put a new battery in my car, it ran 2 days and stopped. I had to wait on money before I had it towed to the Esso Clinic on Hillside. They cleaned and tightened the clamps costing me a total of $175.00 !!! Simon said his tech didnt fix the clamps cause they didnt need it!!! So DONT EVER GO TO THE LANGFORD AUTO DEPT AND DONT TRUST SIMON!! OH Simon refused to give me my money back to get the clamps fixed and the towing!! You would think when you pay $200 dollars for a battery the clamps would ALSO be fixed since the terminal posts and the clamps were covered in CORROSION!!! read more

So the inventory in the store is pretty good. Good selection of items and almost everything covered. I give them a 0/10 for service. I asked for something basic and the lady had no idea where it was, so I said thanks anyway and went and looked myself. I then asked another guy where it was, and he said he would be right back. So we waited and he never came back. The we finally found the aisle ourselves and the product they said they had wasn't there. Absolute garbage. And the cherry on top?
