Always used the shop for service for many years as they usually go beyond what you expect . Results were always, so far, fantastic from the girls at the service desk to the mechanics out back that explain what the problem was and the work provided at a fair price. Parts aren't the cheapest in the city but the service and end results make up for it resulting a rider feeling satisfied he wasn' t ripped off like a lot of other bike shops around town! We were lucky indeed to find GW Cycle World, in order to repair/replace a damaged rear tire. Staff is highly knowledgeable and they were able to advise this reviewer as to the various options for repair. Everyone went above and beyond to get us back on the road. Have been riding motorcycles all my life, GW was the first place I went to when I moved to Calgary 13 years ago and I have absolutely nothing to complain about. Except that all my money disappears every time I visit, but hey, its for toys so its worth it. I've made lots of good friends from and through this place and it really is almost a staple to the bike community in Calgary. Don't want to count how much $ I've spent here but I know its always been a fair deal and very competitive to other shops in town as well as online (plus, you have local service when your online stuff isn't perfect, or exactly what you thought it was). I have been going to all the motorcycle places in Calgary as I'm looking to buy some gear as a new rider. At first I thought this place would be small and not have much but wen I walked in I was very surprised. They have a few bikes on the main floor on the right side and then a bunch of clothing on the left side. Most of the gear however is at the back up a few stairs. They have an endless supply of different helmets, tons of jackets, gloves and boots. There doesn't seem to be muchh method to their madness in regards to organization but it makes it fun just looking around. Alot of jackets don't have sizes on the hangers so you have to look at the tags which takes more time but they do have hundreds of types of jackets (leather and textile). I was actually a little overhelmed and it was a Satuday and super busy so I didn't spend much time here. I will definitely head back soon on a weeknight to have a better look around. This is probably one of the top places I would recommend for any motorcycle gear (even over the better known places). 14/30 read more

As I am a new rider, I was in need of new gear, and felt disappointed by most of the "larger" name stores in the city. I was a little discouraged before entering, getting a dated vibe from the signage, but their customer service and selection made up for that. My first visit was on a Saturday, and it was busy. It would help if the staff wore name tags or staff identification, but that is really my only complaint. My husband went back during the week to buy the jacket I wanted, which turned out to be a size too big. The staff were incredibly helpful when we went in to exchange this evening, and made my experience buying a riding jacket a painless and pleasant one. Definitely recommend GW for their customer service and great selection of apparel for women. read more

Great place to get your gear. There are lot of things to look at so it is helpful to have staff walk you thru the selection process. Went a couple times to purchase helmet, jacket, gloves, and boots. Pacing myself and not buying all the gear at once. Shout out to Simon - thanks for all of your help. Would strongly recommend this place, may be overwhelming. I finally found a new dealership and they didn't mind taking my ten year old motorcycle in for service. The preeminent dealer in Calgary wouldn't even look at my ten year old bike. This dealership took my bike same day and had in done in one week. Great service and very accommodating service manager. The only problem I had was they drained my battery and didn't charge it before I picked my bike up. I would recommend this dealership. read more

I recently had an electrical issue with my bike so I took in..after '4 Hours of labour' ($500 later) they found that I required a part that was discontinued but apparently they could get one from the SUZUKI manufacturer for $1300!! its a '98 and I wasn't about to spend that so I tried other alternatives, like ebay..nothing..so I called and said that I was going to tow it home and wait until I could find a more reasonably priced unit, then I would bring it back to be repaired. Apparently they took this as a red light not to touch my bike again because I was taking it home. They knew 2 days in advance that I was coming to pick it up but the service manager decided that it was good to tow and I even asked if everything was screwed down securely. His answer was 'I think so'! ..really?! wow He and the tow truck driver loaded it together and I met the tow at my home. to my surprise, the tow truck driver told me that me seat flew off down the highway while transporting because nothing was secured down! So, I paid all that money only to pick up my bike, half In pieces with two large boxes, with no real service at all..they basically stripped my bike and my wallet and because we had no part, they simply left my bike in pieces! Ive told all my friends and showed pics all over facebook..these people are crooks and they may sound professional but don't all salesman?..none of us will ever use that shop again. Im sharing this so it doesn't happen to others..don't be fooled by the smile and BS! read more
