Westside provides an incredibly streamlined and straightforward service. They make everything so…read moreeasy at the most difficult time of most people's lives. My only complaint would be that my loved one died on a Saturday morning. I tried to contact them on Sunday during business hours and spoke with someone who said a funeral director would call me back, but no one did. However, once I called on Monday and spoke directly with a funeral director, everything proceeded smoothly from there. All the paperwork is done on-line. Their prices are good, a big part of this is likely because the office on Millikan (in the City Hall Building in the Beaverton Round) is apparently just a small office with low overhead. The cremation is done through Riverview Abbey. It was done quickly and I was able to pick them up at the Millikan office (you can also pick up at Riverview Abbey). They can mail them to you as well. Obtaining death certificates through them was also easy, as was getting an obituary posted to their website. They are very professional, responsive, and happy to help.

My goal is to update the cemetery and bring some adult leadership to the care and feeding of the cemetery and to make it even better than it has been in the past there's many updates to be made there and I hope to be able to do that as we move forward. Dad and I quickly found out how ill-prepared we were to go through this. Kristine at the funeral home could not have been more welcoming, sympathetic, or helpful. As well as not pushy. She never tried to force us into decisions, but politely offered suggestions and knowledgeably answered out questions no matter how silly they were. We met Paul at the time of Mom's service. He made sure the flowers from the service made it to my parent's house and even took time to assist my young nephew as he wanted to help the pallbearers. Paul took my nephew to the front of the casket and had him help steer, since he obviously couldn't bear his share of the weight. He could have easily shoo'ed him away but instead made my nephew feel important and helpful. After the services and we were at home, we found that Unger's had given us a box of thank you notes and the sweetest Memorial bookmark to remember Mom by. I was blown away with such attention to detail. I would recommend Unger's to anyone that has suffered a loss and needs to plan for their loved one's final services.
