As I have still been on the hunt for my favorite nail salon here in Fayetteville, I tried another. It came recommended by a coworker. The interior is gorgeous and they have plenty of staff members keeping things rolling. You can tell that they are clean and efficient. Now to the bad news. I asked for a standard pedicure, its what I start with anywhere to see what's what. The girl working with me very rudely said..You have calluses, Im not removing them in that basic pedicure. Oh Ok. She cut my toenails waaay too short, she didnt really scrub or exfoliate. I was in her presence for 20 minutes tops. Went to candle nails to get dip nails. I wanted a light pink color. The nail tech seemed very aggravated. She began to do my nails and when she put the color on it was clear not even pink. I asked her if we could change the color and she fussed but picked a new color. She processed to do it again and the color still wasn't showing up. As my mother-in-law was in town for the weekend, she wanted to get her nails done. I was due for a fill-in, but religiously get my nails done at a different salon. However, as it was a Sunday, and the nail salon I normally go to is closed on Sundays, we went to Candle Nail Bar instead. Upon walking in, we were seated almost immediately - which was great! I had a simple request for short, almond-shaped french nails. Although my assigned nail artist greeted me with positive vibes, her manner in which she did my nails was the exact opposite. To say she completely man-handled and rushed my nails is an understatement. What I have come to learn over the years, is that you have some salons/artists that value your time, their work, and your reception to the service. While others prioritize speed over efficiency in order to maximize profits during their shift. As my nail artist at Candle Nail Bar clearly prioritizes her time and profits over the service in which I am paying her to provide, I was left with a very disappointing result. As the result of a rushed manicure, she cut me with her drill numerous times - even drawing blood on two of my fingers. The French white lines are so incredibly uneven and squiggly, and on some fingers, you can see where she tried to even out the line with an acetone-soaked brush, but ultimately streaked white onto the nail bed (see pictures for a clearer idea of what I am referring to). Overall, I do take some accountability for not speaking up, and would not expect an "artist" like this to correct her own mistakes on my nail upon seeing it, as it would only keep her from her next money-making opportunity, but I certainly will not be returning to Candle Nail Bar. I was robbed $60 (+ $10 tip) for this lame excuse of a manicure. (Side note: $60 for a simple French nail!?!? I asked the cashier what they normally charge for a fill-in, and was told that a "fill-in STARTS AT $40. Depending on the artist, the artist will then add on their personal fees." I got gel paint?? A simple French with no added tips or specialties, and was charged $60!? Theft. For those reading this, please, save yourself the time, money, and pain because my wallet and proximal nail fold are still recovering from this appointment. Lavish Nails & Spa, I will NEVER cheat on you again. A note to Candle Nail Bar employees and management: Please seriously consider and absorb the advice I'm about to give. Slow it down with the nail drills. Although I'm sure they provide new nail drill bits with a softer outside that is not "supposed" to cut the skin, it still has the potential to (especially when your artist is going 800mph). Came here to get my nails done and it was very clean. The lady I had today was very nice but towards the end when I mentioned to her I was confused on why she was doing Gel instead of acrylic powder on my nails when I asked for that service, her attitude changed. I am not a fan of gel or shellac on my nails because it chips off easily, so I mentioned to the guy in the front I wanted colored powder. I guess there was miscommunication. Of course I was upset and the lady asked me why I didn't like my nails. She proceeded and drenched my nails in the oil and said "Go wash your hands" like okay rude. I still gave her a tip. I have been here before and have recommended it to all my friends. After this last weekend's experience never again. I spent over 350 for my girlfriend and I to have our nails taken care of. I just cannot believe after a week my nails have chipped away some have completely come off. I was supposed to have gel and it is so thin I can still see my nails under through the polish. I made an appointment for 4:30. To be courteous and prepared, I got there 15 minutes early. They sat me in a chair where I waited for 25 minutes past my appointment time. I picked out my color in about 3 minutes. The nail tech seemed to rush through, did not clean up my grown out nails underneath, burnt me twice, and didn't really speak to me. I went to pay and it was $40 for a gel fill in. I don't mind paying a lot of money for above average nails. These are way, WAY overpriced for absolutely nothing special. Right upfront, this is a luxury nail bar who's focus is on the spa setting and presentations rather than the quality of nail paint job. It's kind of like when you go to the nicest restaurant on the beach and have really average food for the double the price you think it should be; you pay for the experience. I took a good friend here on her birthday for a mani pedi and we had a really nice time. The massage chairs were cozy, the pedicure menu was fun and creative, and the snacks and beverages were a nice extra touch. I had made a reservation a week ahead and they had tons of availability. Upon arrival we selected our colors and sat right in our chairs, no wait time. I got the Orange Pedicure which had actual citrus fruit slivers, scrubs, lotions and oils. It smelled amazing and and I felt very refreshed afterwards. The pedicure itself was decent. They were gentle with my cuticles but the paint job wasn't layered in a clean manner so you could see the sides underneath the second layer. My hands were done a lot better but I had to persistently ask the guy to do a thicker coat as the nude color was see through and didn't look good. He was hesitant saying that's how it's supposed to look but did end up helping me. At the end of the day, for the both of us, it was around $200. Again, we paid for the experience though. We did have a nice time and it was something neither of us had done before so that's how I justified it. However, I'd probably never do it again for that price unless my nails were absolutely spectacular and they brought us caviar and rosé mid session. I went to wash my nails came back and there was a ton of product left on my skin that she tried to pick off. This was as far as she could get** see pictures. I went to check out and said "hey, look at my fingers. Do you think that they could do something about all this left behind?" I was told that it will wash off eventually. Some of the techs are great while others aren't. CC does amazing pedicures. I came in to get a pedicure specifically by her....requested her by name. I went in for a pedicure and not only was it ridiculously overpriced, but they flat-out overcharged me. The prices listed on the menu meant nothing. I was charged way more at the register with zero explanation. And the service was an absolute disaster. I told the guy not to cut my nails, and he ignored me and did it anyway. Not only did he cut them way too short, but he didn't even cut them straight and they're completely crooked. First off-- I have been here 3 or 3 times have have had a great experience until my most recent visit. The people who work here are very nice. I love that you get a free alcoholic or non alcoholic beverage. I also love the atmosphere-- very relaxing. My most recent visit, however, was not a great experience. The ladypaint job on my nails was HORRIBLE. I got home and noticed that there were mountains of nail polish and ridges. Not a smooth paint job at all. She was very rough and rolled her eyes when I giggled when scrubbing the bottom. The lady who did my nails definitely needs more training. I have given candle nail bar a lot of my business. I get full acrylics and fill ins every month. my mother there and my sister started going there after I recommended them. Last time I had Wendy and had a terrible experience but I still came back. I'm not sure if it was the same person because she had a mask on.. she had glasses. I went in with two of my acrylics having fallen off and they were pretty grown out. I said I wanted to switch to the SNS dip powder so I may need to take these ones off. She asked me to pull them off instead of soaking them off. She then left me alone sitting there trying to pull my acrylic nails off of my very thin very fragile nails. I started to look around after I had been there for a while because I was having trouble. She never came back to check on me or offer any assistance with this. I was very confused because iv been getting my nails done for 10 years and no one has ever asked me to rip them off before. stupidly I did try. Now most of my nails are bleeding and there's no way I can get other ones put on top. I know that it takes a lot of time to soak nails off but I had 75% of them still on and she asked me to pull all of them off myself and then walked away. I went in alone and I look younger than I am.. but I was ready to pay over $100 for services and was extremely clear on what I wanted, mentioned I may want to add some gems. the bill obviously could have added up by the end of it... instead I left with bleeding nail beds, 2 I couldn't get off and was crying.
