My fiancé and I stayed here for about 10 days while he was working a job in Augusta. I'll start with a positive, the staff is very friendly, and while I was there, the guest were pretty quiet. Also, the free laundry is great. The bad definitely outweigh the good . My biggest issue is they run out of hot water during the day. I was supposed to get my room cleaned seven days into my stay, but the maids never came. They only give you two towels at a time, even if you're an extended stay which made me have to chase down maids every day. Also, they only give you a couple packs of coffee at a time so I had to find ask for coffee every couple days. read more

I'd like to start this off by saying that I've always had a good experience with Candlewood Suites, but boy oh boy, this was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. I slept in an 8 dollar hostel in Prague that was better than this place. First, when we got into the room, all of the dishes were in the dishwasher, but the dishwasher was broken, so it hadn't been ran, so all of the dishes were dirty, visibly used and soiled, not just notionally dirty because they were in the dishwasher. When I notified the front desk, I was informed they didn't have extra dishes so I would just have to use soap and wash the dishes myself. I feel like that's already three strikes in and of itself, but they didn't have any other rooms available so they couldn't move us rooms. Second, we got a room with a regular bed and an additional pullout sofa/bed thing so our kids could sleep on the pullout bed, but there were no pillows or blankets for that bed. When I asked the front desk for extra pillows and a blanket for the pullout, they told me they didn't have any, so we'd have to use the pillows from the bedroom and then gave me an additional sheet to use as a blanket, except we used that as a sheet on the pullout because the pullout didn't have a sheet on it. Strikes four and five. Third, the cable box in the bedroom was missing, and it was definitely supposed to be there because all of the cable cords were there, just no box. When I informed the front desk, they told me to take the cable box from the other TV, again just moving a problem from one spot to another instead of fixing it. Strikes 6-10. So every problem I brought to the front desk, I was given instructions on what I SHOULD DO to attempt to remedy the situation myself, as opposed to the hotel workers actually fixing the problem. Update: Day two, I report the problems again to a different worker, who actually fixed the issues within a day. So what started as a one star review, is now two because of Crystal at the front desk who actually solved problems, she's the only reason this is two stars. read more

Such a wonderful place for an extended stay. The staff here is honestly the best I have encountered when staying at a hotel. They LOVE dogs- so make sure to have your pup say hi- they provide SO many amenities and are just overall some amazing people. They provide kitchen utensils, dish soap, all body soap, coffee and FREE laundry room. The rooms are pretty good. There are some small things- loose air vent and touchy key systems, but overall a great place to stay. 100% recommend staying here if you need a hotel to stay at. read more

This was the best Motel I have stayed. The front desk was so personable an helpful. The staff was great. It was quiet. The rooms were beautiful and clean. I worked nights. I was not woke up at all. The staff let me sleep which was very important. It's was dog friendly place but I didn't hear any dogs. All of needs was met. Housekeeping staff was great. Thank for a the being best. read more

Very nice hotel. A great home away from home place to stay. Pet friendly for the pretty lovers. And rooms away from the pets for us that do not travel with our pets. Quiet place, spacious rooms. Clean and very homey feeling. The night check in lady Melissa is just a friendly charm. She made the check in very delightful The strip is not far but it's a good walk. Every thing is on that main strip. There is no continental breakfast here. And no restaurant within the hotel. That is the only downer. But you can buy and cook it in the room. So it's a trade off. They should have a sitting area out front. The weather is great for sitting outside But definitely IHG comes through again read more

I've never gotten so much hotel for my money. The rooms are very clean and feature a small kitchen with a stovetop, dishwasher (!), microwave, sink, plenty of cabinets for storage and full fridge. The bed is very comfortable, and doesn't make me miss my expensive foam mattress at home, and there is an equally comfortable leather chair and also a nicely sized table with a couple chairs. The staff is totally courteous and warm, and the features are more than I expected. Snack bar, movie and book rentals (limited, but it saves a drive out) and internet service. One of the best hotel experiences I've had. read more

Stayed here since they allowed pets. We paid $75 for 1-6 days with one dog, on top of the room fee. This place was a great place to stay. The staff was great and the room was fantastic. Single bed but came with a sink and mini stove. There were dishes available to cook with and Tupperware containers available to save food. Large fridge also available in the room. There's a small shop on the first floor, by the check in counter and gym. It's an honor system and they have great snacks and food to choose from. Pickings get a little slim depending on how busy the hotel seems to be, but they restock on Wednesdays. They had ice cream, candy, soda, yogurt, noodles, bagels, cheese, and so on. They do NOT have a continental breakfast at this hotel. Places to take your dog potty are available. Grass spots. Also, they have several washers and dryers (good models!) and it's free to wash your clothes. They have laundry supplies available for sale. Would definitely recommend this place. read more

My sis in law was looking for a place to stay for a extended time so we checked out a few places and she was really into this one.She wanted a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchenette and a pool and fitness room. Prices are to me somewhat high but hotel rooms in this area are up in prices but they look clean and service so far is good. read more

Drove into town to see my son, didn't have reservations and decided to stay here. Front desk was awesome, used my points for the room and she upgraded me to a suite. Room was clean, spacious with all the amenities for an extended stay. Definitely recommend. read more

I have never done a review before but I would like to let everyone know that my family had to stay here for two weeks while we were moving. This place was the absolute best experience from the second we walked in. Gave us no problems about our animals and kids the staff never made us feel like we could not get anything we needed, extra toilet paper, towels, sheets blankets, we even got a extra bed brought to us when my son came in, free laundry free coffee free workout room, and in the back we had a place to walk our dogs and yes there is bags to clean up your dogs poop. (I recommend that you use it, not to many people did). read more

I arrived in Augusta late on a Friday night, around 1AM. Check in was quick, service was fine, but nothing memorable. Upon arrival I was given 2 key cards, we walked over to our room to discover key cards were not working... Crap happens, so i walked over to the desk to get 2 other key cards, return patiently to my room to open and surprise! key's not working again. Go over to the desk again, get another set, didn't work again, this time the lady from the front desk came with me and opened the door for us with her own card and told us the other ones should work fine. Go in the room to discover they book a studio with a kichenette instead of a 1 bedroom apartment as I had specify. Too late to and tired to go argue I decided the room was fine for 2 people. The overall look was nice, upgraded kitchen cabinets and dishwasher, bathroom was fine, except the lock on the door did not work. Next day after coming back to the hotel had the same issue again with the key cards, from then on every time we were to get into the room we had to get someone from the front desk to open. (till this day I still wonder why they didn't just provide another room). I booked the hotel only because I wanted to be able to cook, and so Saturday after getting some groceries I proceeded to do so, only to realize, there were no pots n pans. They had utensils, cups, plates, coffee machine but no pots n pans as I would assume any hotel room with a kitchen would have (all the others I've been to do anyway). Last issue we encountered was the dish washer, which upon turning on, made a big puddle of water, immediately turned it off and wash the dishes by hand. This was our check out day n after check out the lady asked if I had let the repair guy walking around of the issue. Not wanting to argue, since I didnt understand why it was our responsibility to let him know, I replied a quick no and left... Wishing I hadn't done the dishes. read more

My husband and I have never been treated so terribly at a hotel. We planned to stay at this location for 2 months and I should have realized before we even left home there would be issues. Called to book 1-bedroom suite but staff didn't do their job. When we called back to confirm the day before leaving there were no rooms available. We didn't have a choice at that point, settled for a regular room, moved a week later when a suite was available. A couple of weeks later they requested we move rooms AGAIN because we were in a handicap rooms and they need it for a guest. We were asked to sign their pet policy form and pay the pet deposit. Confusing since this was all taken care day 1. We were told the pet policy had changed and there were additional fees we would now need to pay. I understand needing to change policies and procedures but to request your current guests fork over $250 extra dollars they were not prepared for is a bit much. And come to find out they went ahead a charged our credit card on file without our authorization is bad business. There are a lot of other issues we had during our stay there: don't expect much from the glorious gazebo you see in their photos, it's old and worn and typically has several smokers hanging out in there. The trashcans inside and outside are often completely full and stink to high heaven with the heat. The pet area was not clean and there were never pet bags available. Luckily we carry our own. Also, the walls are very thin. If anyone next to you, above or below you slams there door you can literally feel the vibrations. Overall, I'm not happy at all with the way we were treated by their owners. I plan to call IHG to complain but we spoke with several other guests during our stay there who were also complaining and because this site is a franchise IHG not able to do anything. It's a real shame we were treated as poorly as we were. Because of this specific location, I don't know that I will ever stay at another Candlewood Suites and it's questionable if I would ever stay at any IHG property. read more

I stayed at this Candlewood Suites for three months when I was on temporary duty at Fort Gordon and the staff went above and beyond to meet my needs. The ladies at the front desk are the most helpful, friendly, and professional group. They got to know my name and even reminded me when I got mail everyday I walked into the front door. I got a one bedroom suite for the per diem rate my job allowed and it was better than the other hotels that I have stayed at for the per diem rate. Most places will give you a studio room, but those feel cramped after a week. Betty Carter, the manager, emailed me directly to let me know that they could do a one bedroom at my price. Now that is customer service! I really loved how the laundry was free. I got lucky and always picked the times that nobody else was using them. There is a gym, a Candlewood Cupboard where you can borrow kitchen appliances, board games, and buy food. There is no continental breakfast but that didn't bother me because the room had a cook top, dishwasher, full fridge and freezer, large cupboards, and dishes. I felt like I was living in my one bedroom apartment at home. For those working at Fort Gordon, this is a 20 min drive but no traffic! It's in a central location near Augusta Mall, Whole Foods, Publix, and a lot of restaurants. Downtown Augusta is only 5 miles away. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Worst IHG Hotel I 've met, staff never helped me to solve the issues in my room. This hotel is so expensive compared with the old building, under the bed probably they haven't cleaned since they opened and A/C didn't work although I asked them to help me I didn't receive help, I was tired and decided to early check out at 10 am, worst mistake, they charged me that day and the next day for penalty, what? I was just trying to runaway of that uncomfortable situation and I had to pay extra, and hasn't finished because they continued charging me extra for no reason I had like 200 usd on my account with no explanation. You'd better not try this unless there is no other option. Very disappointed. read more

Upon arriving you are met with a gas station in a bad neighborhood window with a cash slide under. Next to the window is a large sign in bold stating that due to their safety the building doors are locked after 10... lovely... do I even stay here? In the lobby bulletin board there are several printed papers with large print on what not to do there... not encouraging. Check in was fine. Park at the end of the building and go into the side entrance, no cuts in the curbs to aid with heavy rolling luggage... lovely. Walk through the halls to the elevator and it smells like an old super 8 with plenty of carpet deodorizer that makes wonder what's being covered up. Get to the room and walk in. Small kitchenette complete with appliances, I didn't use any. The computer chair had stains all over it and makes me wonder what nasty things were stuck to it. Turn on the tv and cable box, 5 minutes later the tv starts to flick on and off. Call the front desk and was told to unplug it and plug it in then unplug all the cords and plug it in. Seemed to work. The room was set to 71 but was freezing, I set the thermostat to 75 and it finally warmed up a bit. Went to open the window for fresh air and there is a screw driven into the frame, only opens 3 inches... this is BS. Try to connect to the wifi and apparently they think they are Ft Knox because it's difficult to spell it correctly and get logged in. Overall not impressed with Candlewood. This is the 2nd one of the IHG that I've stated in and won't do it again. Should have just gone to holiday inn. read more

This hotel is more in line with a Super 8 hotel except the rooms are suites. The kitchens are nice. BUT the beds are not very comfortable, and you just get a cheaped out feeling in this place (minimal toiletries, cheap rough tissues, etc. The lobby has two chairs and a tv.. Our biggest complaint was they gave us a handicap appointed room without asking or telling you. There was no tub, but a shower with a bench. The sprayer that was to reach the bench did not work, only the regular showerhead. The bathroom has a drain in the middle of it. We learned why-the shower overflowed each time we used it. The edge of the shower base was so low it did not hold the water in the shower area. The problem was this left for wet slippery tiles. I slipped. Even after warning my husband, he also slipped. When we left we complained about this and the maid overheard and said that several people had complained about that. The staff said they were "sorry." No adjustments, just hard luck. I have this silly notion that most people who use a handicap room are handicapped BEFORE they use the room, not afterward. While i have always enjoyed Candlewood in the past, I am done now. It was an expensive stay for a cheap room. read more
