PROS: Close to everywhere I needed to go including the freeway. One host who did a great job with so many people to check in. It was a large group traveling and one young man had issues with his reservation which was handled really well. The host got it resolved. Lots of free parking. CONS: It had elements of pet hair because I was itchy, sneezing, coughing and had a headache while in the room once I got outside I was OK. Had requested in my profile 2xs no room with prior animals but still got a room with traces of animals even heard a dog barking a few doors down later that day. As the host was helping a large group check in a young man had a problem with his reservation and heard the host say that the hotel was full and that he may be moved to another room later but they were staying for about a week or so. So I couldn't request to move once I discovered this on my room. You could hear all types of noises from outside, and hallway to constant walking or child running upstairs above me head. I've stayed in several Home2 Suites from California to the Carolinas and have always had a good experience but this one wasn't too good. I even saw ants on the floor crawling. Booked a non-refundable room during the practice round, for the first two nights of The Masters, at their normal rate, but a week later, the hotel abruptly cancelled my reservation! They decided they would sell it for more money. I called the property twice and was lied to and told they would honor the rate, but it was a corporate glitch. Two cases later, no resolution, and not even a call back to talk to me directly. Hilton guest services of no help at all. I had expected more from Hilton - very disappointing, but have bubbled up to someone at corporate and will open a case with the BBB so they can track it too. Great tip from a Yelp user. Sad that people still screw with people, especially in these tough times we live in today. I bought Masters tix and booked air all around the dates I booked.... Terrible managment at this location - all for a two night stay. Crazy huh?! read more

I booked a room here for the night while coming for a friend's birthday. When I arrived, I stood at the front desk for a solid 10 minutes before anyone came. Once I she came out, she answered a couple phone calls and then finally checked me in. However, I got to the room and the door was apparently locked from the inside and no one could open it. I walked all the way back down with my suitcase and dog and she gave me a different key, still didn't work. I finally asked the housekeeper for help and they were the sweetest. They got me switched into a different room. The housekeeping staff is phenomenal. Front desk staff need customer service skills. The GFI in the bathroom of room 429 is broken. So I couldn't use the outlet at all. read more

This was the worst stay I've experienced and was literally threatened by the front of the house staff, and the maintenance guy would not stop returning to my room after he was asked to not. After a lengthy drive into town, I had about 30 minutes to check in, take a shower and head to Aiken for a business meeting. I checked in and entered a room that had a broken curtain on the window. I didn't care I just needed to get out of there. Moments later I get a knock on the door from maintenance. I let him come in and try to fix the window. After 15 minutes of screwing with it he can't fix it and asks to come back in a few minutes. I say NO because I need to shower and get ready. He persists to push he will come back because "he just needs to get this fixed" I go down to the front desk to ask for a different room obviously upset. Now I don't even have time to shower and change I just neee to leave. His name is like Davante or something with a "D," and he tells me how it isn't his fault he put me in a room like that, to stop "threatening" him all this outrageous shit. He literally told me he would assault me if I"I push him more" He claims he can't call a manager bc it's the weekend so it took 3 days to hear back from management. I called corporate which was equally un useful and had to just get going at that point. They will have a lawsuit coming their way. read more

My visit here was for an overnight stay on the way to Mississippi. This place isn't too far off of Interstate 20 or 520, depending on how you are coming in. The place is pretty visible when looking for it. There is ample parking available and there are plenty of places in the area to do shopping, dining, and more. Since I had selected my room the night before through the app and did the digital key, I didn't have to do a check in. I knew my room would be 418 before I even arrived. My overnight stay here was on July 25, 2019. I primarily stay at Hilton properties when traveling, if one of my other favorite brands isn't in the area. This one had some good reviews and a really good price for the night as well. Either the building was fairly new, or had some updates done recently, as it was very nice and inviting. However, they apparently had a water leak in one of their offices, so there were fans blowing at one side of the main lobby area to dry things out. I'm glad I wasn't on the bottom floor that night. We made our way over to the elevator and went up to our suite for the night. The suite was clean and inviting. It was just two of us, so it was perfect. There is a nice sized refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, sink area, plates, etc. If we were staying longer, this would be a good spot. I like that the room has a full shower instead of a tub/shower combination. The overall bathroom area was a bit small, but that can be expected at hotels sometimes. There is ample storage space in the room and a nice couch as well. The evening overall was pretty quiet. I took some time to walk around the hotel itself, checking out the pool, exercise area, and generally what they had to offer. After checking things out, I made it back to the room. There is one television in the room, but covered what we needed to watch while there. The beds were very comfortable and had a good night's sleep there as well. This is what I would expect of any hotel. I did feel refreshed the following morning. After getting up the following morning, I went down to the breakfast area to check things out. The fans were still running where they were trying to dry areas after that water leak. It didn't impact the breakfast area. All of their plates and utensils were regular plates and silverware (no paper plates, etc.). I find that a good thing as it lowers the amount of trash and waste too. The items for breakfast were your typical options. They had some cereals, oatmeal, fruits, breads, pancakes (cook yourself), coffee, and fruit drinks. I did get a few items from there, but not too much. What I did get was good though. Overall, this was a great experience at this hotel. I saw messages about the staff not being friendly and such, but I never experienced that issue. The room was a spacious, beds were comfortable, and had a great night's sleep too. The breakfast does have some good options to choose from, but like many other hotels, it's hard to find bacon, as most of them do sausage instead. Maybe they rotate what comes each day, but that's what was available for me that day. If your travels take you this way and need to stop at a hotel for the night in Augusta, this is one you should consider. read more

I have only been to two Home2Suites and here are the pros and cons of this particular location... Specific Location (Pro) -The fitness center is a lot bigger and has more equipment than another Home2Suites location I have stayed in -The pool is outdoors -Decent space size within the suite (not too crazy about the cabinets or the closeness of the rooms across the hall) -Requesting a hot plate and rice cooker was a lot easier than another Home2Suites location I stayed in -Staff was friendly, courteous and accomodating -Bathrooms have a shampoo & conditioner dispenser instead of the bottles (my personal favorite feature) -Decent amount of parking space that goes around the entire building Specific location (Con) They are doing some work on the front entrance so it looks kinda bad and takes away from the appeal of the hotel, Im assuming they are in the process of getting that fixed. -Not a lot of space to park your car at the front when you are checking in if you have an SUV or a truck Overall Pro -Overall on the inside it looks great, modern design very welcoming and spacious at a pretty affordable rate. Overall Con -I am not a big fan of the open concept "business center" it's not even really a center its just an area with two computers and a printer (they all work which is good because not all Hilton computers work at the locations I have been in) but the lack of privacy when conducting business is a big problem especially if you have a business or career where you need privacy to exchange sensitive information that is not for everyone's ears and there is nowhere to have a private room on the first floor unless you go outside and hope there is no one out there. read more

I really wanted to like this place since the Augusta Homewood is a complete dump and my company contracts with Hilton. I work in healthcare, travel, and don't have regular 8-4:30 hours. I was looking for a place that has a large fridge with freezer and microwave because I can't count on restaurants for food during off hours and I usually stay for weeks rather than days. In that aspect, this place is great! The room was clean and quiet. My concern that I brought to the front desk was, maintenance entered my room EVERY day. Without notice. With the do not disturb placard on the door. Was there an emergency? No. Was I given notice? No. I was sitting in a camisole and panties waiting for my hair to air dry and two or three men tried to enter my room (I'm a woman traveling alone). I had the door block on, so they were not able to enter. On a different day, the Lysol "clean room" seal was taken off, so I knew they entered after I left the room (they saw me leave). All the front desk said was sorry! We're replacing the internet with no notice. Smile. Why partner with Lysol if maintenance will enter EVERY DAY and you don't disinfect after every entry? Or leave a note and disinfecting wipes DURING A PANDEMIC and say what maintenance touched?!? Mind boggling. Honestly I think this is a ploy to keep expenses at a minimum and stop housekeeping during stays due to "reasons" but maintenance can enter for same "reasons" without recourse. If you value customer service and want to be treated with respect, stay somewhere else. I'm going to try the residence inn next week. Edit to add: One night during my stay, my key didn't work at the side entrance so I had to walk in the blustery wind to the front (the parking lot was full so this place is clearly busy) and the clerk said they had upgraded the key system and everyone had to get a new key that day. Again, no notice, and no security in the parking lot at 11pm when I arrived. All of this was in a four night stay. I expected better from Hilton. read more

This is a good hotel to spend a night or two while on the road. A lot of people glamorize traveling for work, however it can get tiring and it can get old real fast. It is good hotels like this that make it that much more bearable. Not to mention finding good restaurants and things to see in each town that you end up in. read more

I'm from Augusta and had to come back to town for a funeral. I stayed at this hotel not far from my mom's house. The front, exterior and lobby of the hotel were nice for a 3 Star accommodation. The room we were in was decent - with a full kitchen. But there are some things I didn't like at all. The walls are very thin. They allow pets so dogs were barking in the halls and it sounds like they are almost in your room. Kids above us were running and jumping early in the morning. The bed skirt was dirty, the floor had stains on it, and the lamp shades were broken. I don't plan on staying here again. read more

Almost 1year and I'm reviewing because it's that time of year again. Every year I have to come to Augusta for training. Last year I stayed here it was pretty brand NEW everything about it was new. I enjoyed my stay. I said I would definitely come back to this hotel, but I won't be this go round because its not being paid for out of my pocket. I took pics during my stay but forgot to review till now. This year I was told WE/Staff could pick ANY hotel in the area, so I'm trying to find something with room service or restaurant on property. Yeah, I'm lazy when it's cold out I don't wanna get out and find food. Other than that 11months ago this was a great hotel. No complaints. I originally came to stay for 12 days. Since I have never been to the Home 2 Suites brand, I was eager to find out what it's about. When I got into the room, I was expecting a suite. But it's just a bigger room with the curtain potentially partition the bed from the couch and the kitchen area. As for the kitchen, there is a medium size fridge, a microwave, a sink, and a dishwasher. The breakfast is self served and you pop the food item in the microwave to heat it up. There are hot oatmeal and waffle stations. When I discovered that the door wouldn't lock, I notified the front desk. Maintenance came and adjusted the door. The guy told me that I just had to close the door forcefully. I have to try a few times to make it work and I really have to bang it for the locking mechanism to latch on. When I pushed the door to test out, there is about 1/4" clearance between the door and the door frame. I also noticed the crack starting to develop on the wall. If I was the owner, I sure hoped that my maintenance would do better job to preserve my property. Since my room was close to the stairs, I pretty much used the stairs to go in and out. Around the second day, I saw a water bottle left on the handrail and a piece of candy on one of the steps. Couple days later, the water bottle was gone and the piece of candy was still there. About the ninth day, I saw a dead cockroach on the bottom of the stairs and the piece of candy was still there. I checked out the next day. I've come to really enjoy the Home 2 Suites by Hilton. My knee jerk was to give this location a 4 star review, but when I thought about it, I have no complaints! First off, and this happens often i've Been told, I went to the Grovetown Home 2 suites location thinking i'd Reserved a place there, since i'd been there once before. I was sent to this Augusta location, slightly concerned because it's older than the grovetown location, but when I walked in, this was a lovely hotel! I had a king room, which, compared to other hotels i've been in, was much more colorful and bright, which I liked. The rooms are spacious, come with full size appliances, including fridge, dishwasher, "kitchen" sink, microwave, toaster, silverware, dishes, and other things like a sofa, table, etc etc. Wall outlets littered the room, so bring your electronics One complaint from several hotels has been WiFi. I'm happy to say it was both easy to log on to WiFi, and the signal was strong throughout my 3 night stay. Other perks include laundry, small gym, pool, ample parking, and free "enhanced" complimentary breakfast. In fact the only thing that wasn't here was the range top, that was available at the grovetown location. Very small problem though. Customer service was great. Check out time is at noon and check in is at 3pm. Everything was very clean, super professional, and i'd happily stay here again. Definitely worth getting a good night sleep here. read more

Spent the weekend to visit the in-laws and decided on Home2Suites. I used to live in Augusta for 5 years, so I knew the area was solid. Easy access to interstate, big shopping center nearby with food options. Ample parking available, although it does fill up as the night goes on. Room was vary spacious. Decently comfy king bed, although it did smell like the sheets were past due for a washing. Nice water pressure in the shower, water stayed hot, decent bathroom amenities like shampoo. My major gripe came from the rowdy guests who kept talking and partying past midnight. The hotel should implement a quiet hour after a time. Breakfast buffet is included for everyone. The food was a hair better than I expected, with some pre-made breakfast sandwiches that could be heated up. Otherwise, your usual expectations at a buffet, like pastries, cereal, juices, etc. Staff was also meh. No HH Diamond recognition, no smiles or pleasantries, just going through the motions. While I paid with points, cash rate for a Saturday night would have been $141. I def would have expected better service for that price point. Definitely would not stay here again. I should have opted for the DoubleTree nearby. read more

Cons: - One of their two treadmills was broken and will not go faster than one mile... Nevertheless, I never had to wait for any fitness equipments (bike, eleptical machine, weights, etc.). I booked a handicapped room with a roll in shower for my elderly mother. When my mother checked in they gave her a different room. The explanation given by the General Manager was if the guest did not have a wheel chair they did not think they needed a roll-in shower. I explained that just because someone does not have a wheel chair does not mean that they do not have a handicap. The General Manager was EXTREMELY rude and unaccommodating. I would sleep in my car before EVER staying at another Hilton property. read more

I have stayed in this hotel a total of 32 nights in the last 3 months. I never had problems until I came back to my room one night to find the door had been propped open with the deadbolt - presumably by cleaning staff. The next week I stayed there, cleaning staff forgot to rinse cleaning solution out of the floor of the shower, which I discovered by slipping in it at 6 am. To catch my balance I reached out and grabbed the metal bar bolted to the wall for this purpose. The metal bar ripped right out of the wall with zero resistance. After I caught my balance and looked at the bar, I could see that it had come off the wall before and had been glued to the wall with construction adhesive. Of the 4 bolts that should have been holding it to the wall, 3 had heads that were completely rusted off. The 4th bolt was only 3/4" long, and was inserted through 1/2" thick tile to grab ... nothing at all. In and of itself, this is concerning but not horrible. The response was the problem. The desk manager was very nice and handed me a blank sheet of paper to fill out as an "incident report". She assured me the problem would be taken care of. When I returned to the room 12 hours later, the bar had been re-attached to the wall but there was a suspicious space behind the mounting bracket. Sure enough, a very light tug removed the "repaired" bar from the wall to reveal the rusty screws had been replaced with brand new, shiny 3/4" inch screws which would also never grab anything solid. When I pointed this out to the desk, they shrugged and said I could call customer service. Customer Service merely offered me a extra points to my Hilton Honors membership and was not concerned with the maintenance issues. I presume the "incident report" was shredded, along with all the pictures I emailed of the damaged shower bar. I will never stay at this hotel again, because I'll always be wondering if they only took safety shortcuts in room 304 or if all the rooms are just waiting to fall apart when you least expect it. If you value your health and safety, go somewhere else. I will be using IHG hotels in the future. read more

We came to this property after a horrible experience with a different hotel and quickly realized we made the right decision to come here. When we first walked into the hotel lobby, it was clean, smelled nice, and was aesthetically pleasing; the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable; and the pool was a great amenity for our children. I stayed here several times during client visits in Augusta. The only upside to this Home2 is the location and that is it. Before my stay, the consulting firm I was performing the project for would send in the authorization for my stay to be billed in the corporate credit card, but during check-out they just automatically bill my personal credit card and the battle is always for them to correct it. One time, the authorization was sent straight to Marcus H at this location and still I had the same issue, when asked if he received the form before my stay, he replied by saying, I did not check my email, that is just so bad. So, be forewarned if you ever stay here, the front desk folks does not seem to care. read more

WOW! My husband called and spoke with Operations Manager Adriana to ask about an early check in as we were in town for a funeral and wanted to change from driving. Not only did she make certain that our room was ready, she came in early and put flowers and a sympathy card in our room. We were blown away!! Such a nice and friendly hotel! I was here to get some things done before I move to Augusta in a few months and my parents came along for the adventure. We had three of us in a one bedroom suite and had more than enough space. The sleeper sofa was even comfortable! Everything had a very clean, new, and modern feel. I really enjoyed the gym area (new equipment!), oatmeal bar at breakfast, and the front desk was very nice. The location is also great- we could get anywhere in less than 15 minutes. Lovely establishment and friendly staff. The front desk agents go over and beyond to make you feel welcomed. I cannot count how many tines I was greeted and asked if I needed anything. I felt like royalty. Each staff on different days delivered the same impeccable service. To be honest, I never expected such hospitality from quaint Augusta. I had some bias but all of that was out the door from arrival until check out. Grounds are beautiful, clean and homely. Breakfast times are lengthier than most I think till 11? The staff here are exceptional! We had to stay here for almost 2 weeks when we first moved to Augusta in July 2017 and they made the place feel like home. Every morning at breakfast, the front desk attendance would come talk to my kids and give them treats. The complementary breakfast is great and can save your family a lot of money. The facilities are brand new and clean. They are pet friendly and there is even a great area to take your dog out for a walk. The location is great, with Target, Chickfila, Hobby Lobby, movie theater, etc. all within walking distance. read more

When we found this hotel we were driving from Texas all the way to South Carolina, everyone in the car was sleep deprived but the service we received at this hotel was phenomenal!! They allowed us to check in 3 hours early, and the staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was excellent. Superior staff, comfy beds, delicious breakfast, and great area. We will without a doubt be looking at this hotel company for future travels, and have already used another location which was just as wonderful as the first stay. Stayed here while visiting my son who is stationed at Fort Gordon. It's very close to the Army base. The staff were very friendly. The room and hotel was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the guests above us had several young children who jumped and ran around over our heads until after midnight. This is your typical Home2 hotel. Maybe 2-3 years old and still pretty nice. Kitchen and living area were nice and clean and spacious. Unlike the bathroom, all that space in the room yet the designer crams the sink/counter top, toilet and shower/tub in like a 5x5 space. Unless you're a toothpick the back of you legs will you touch the side of the toilet while using the sink. The tub was so narrow that my shoulders would either touch the curtain or the wall. So beware if you like room in the bathroom. Bed was comfy, AC did great in 90° GA Summer, walls were thick. Not so much for the door, as you could here the hallway outings. Due to Covid-19 there wasn't the typical decent breakfast, instead a bagged one consisting of a small juice can, muffin, and granola bar. I don't know about you but that's a snack and no way at all a breakfast. They gotta do better on that. Staff was friendly, parking was decent. read more

This place is amazing for what you pay. Not only were the rooms clean and well kept, but the fitness area, laundry, and other common areas were very well maintained also. We stayed for about 5 days and not once ran in to an employee who seemed less than thrilled to be there. Several even took the time to get to know us and remembered our children's names. This hotel is the full package- beyond excellent customer service, great amenities, and amazing rooms. I stayed here April for 2 nights. I could have very comfortably stayed there longer if needed. Customer Service: I had reserved a room with a king size bed. Last minute my mom was able to join me so upon checking in I requested to be moved to a room with two beds. The hotel was full so they didn't think they had any... after poking around for 5 minutes the lady at the front desk found a room where the guest checked out early. The entire time she was searching for a room she so gracious and kept apologizing for the amount of time it was taking. I was blown away with her customer service. Room (two full size beds): lovely room that is well designed with wonderful natural lighting. Full kitchen and great living area. It also had an office area and plenty of space to hang your clothes. In the office area one of the tables was on wheels which made it easy to work from the living room/ couch area, if preferred. The bed was very comfortable along with great quality linens and pillows. The kitchen had a decent size refrigerator- it could easily hold a week or two of groceries. The kitchen even had a dishwasher and was full stocked with all dishes and utensils. The bathroom was smaller in the sense two people couldn't comfortably use it at once (blow dry/ style hair & put on makeup.) However, the room is so large that it is very easy to find an area to style your hair outside of the bathroom. The bathroom had a shower (no tub), sink, and toilet- everything was in great condition. Amenities: great workout area with tons of equipment and wonderful complimentary breakfast. Multiple juices, healthier cereal with choice of healthy toppings, bagels and toast, pancakes and eggs, & coffee. The staff working the breakfast was nice and gracious- I was eating my breakfast while it was closing and two of the staff members (separately) asked me if I wanted more of anything before closing it up. After saying I was fine one of the staff members even replied," are you sure? You are eating bread so you might be thirsty in a little bit." They really do have the friendliest people working at this hotel. The hotel really is the full package. Anyone staying in Augusta I will always point them to this hotel. read more

We really like these Home 2 hotels. This is our 2nd time staying in a Home 2 within a few weeks. My husband has been working in Augusta while we live in Atlanta, so he's been spending quite a few nights in hotels around there. The first time we stayed at the newer one in Grovetown. I'd would of liked to give this hotel are higher rating, but the staff here are very unprofessional and rude, and made us feel very uncomfortable staying here. Super disappointed. read more

I cannot rave enough about this place! Everyone on the staff is top notch and I would not give high praise unless it was deserved. They are polite, friendly, empathetic, helpful...like an extension of your family. Every time we came up front to the lobby, the staff would greet us and our daughter by name and offer complimentary water, fruit and other goodies. Need another pillow? No problem! They gave me a king-sized one without batting an eye. Just a small example of how they go above and beyond. They kept our room pristine, took care of our dishes and were thorough about what we needed replenished. The room itself was spacious and bigger than some studio apartments I've seen! Huge and comfy bed, separate temperature control in bedroom and living room and clean, clean, clean! Computers are available in the lobby with free printing, workout room, laundry room (50 cents per load), a great free breakfast and coffee available 24/7. I love this place, I love the attention to detail, I love that they went above what we expected because you rarely find this anymore.
