Shower, some staining on bottom of tub, but wasn't bad.
    Ashley M.

Hotel was clean. Staff was nice, including on the phone when we booked. We checked in expecting a one bedroom suite with a pull out sofa. Once we checked in, Heidi at the front desk saw the 2 kids and offered us another queen bed instead of the couch, this was very nice of her and worked out well. Even with the extra bed in the living room, there was a lot of space! Kitchen was fully stocked with utensils in the dishwasher and plenty of towels in the kitchen and bathroom. Bed was comfortable, pool was open, no breakfast, wifi worked well, and there are additional items available to borrow by the front desk too (i.e. crockpot, blender, games, etc). We borrowed a 500 piece puzzle and were surprised not a single piece was missing! We did stay on the side of the hotel closest to 49th, I'm a light sleeper and this kept me up a little. Also, the ac is in the living room with a 10-12" hole with a fan that blows in the bedroom (on the side of the tv-make sure to open up all the way by spinning the small dial/knob; open/fastest fan setting is right before it clicks to off). So we found that the bedroom would be warm and the living room freezing if the bedroom door was shut. Other than that, pretty nice location and comfortable stay.

    Cockroaches in the bathrooms

Appearance: This place looked bad inside and outside. The lobby looks like a jail cell. And the hallways are just awkward l. Rooms are of bad quality and bathrooms as well Customer service: customer service was horrible, old grouchy people and the maintenance people looked like they didn't have papers he didn't even speak English. Cleanliness: this place was very dirty and unsanitary Price: cheap I guess you get what you pay for Quality: worst hotel I've ever been to, I'd rather sleep under a bridge then here Service Used/Food Ate: they have no room service only a little store to cook ravioli or ramen noodles Comments: Over the course of a 4 day period I had to change rooms 3 times. This was due to the rooms having cockroaches, beds all stained, and the shower having blood in it. Bottom line never ever stay here. Avoid this hotel at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Queen pet friendly room.

Candlewood Suites is part of IHG which operates several hotel chains that includes Holiday Inn (Express) and that they are pet friendly this was (is) important because I would be traveling with Vino and prefer to have him with me than in a kennel. After an extremely long and exhausting drive walked in and found that they still had availability for the posted rate and we quickly got started. The keys to room # 121 were given and quickly noticed that there is a noise issue. This room sits across the hall from the service counter so you will hear conversations quite clearly, the attendants carts going up and down the hall is annoying and children very excited to go to the pool can be heard through the door all too well. The only reason I would recommend this room is if you were hard of hearing or are a serious creeper that wants to know what is going on all of the time while looking through your peephole ? After an hour of this brought it to clerks attention and they offered to move me to another floor the next two nights were in # 322 on the third floor which was very quiet. Fine print : * Use a credit card when checking in. If you use a debit they will put hold on your account that could take up to 10 days to release. * There is a pet charge, this is not listed on the corporate web page it simply states that they are "pet friendly". * The fee is $15.00 for the first night and $10.00 for each additional night not to exceed $150.00 per stay. You will be asked to fill out a "care card" should there be any problems or in the worst case scenario the vet needs to be called. What will you get for your dollar here - * The room is large enough that two people wouldn't be stepping on one another. * The kitchen has a full size microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. * If you are in need of a stove top there are two flat top burners that work on a timer as not to burn the place down. * Other amenities, two big gas grills are available and the front desk will even loan you the spatulas and tongs ya might need for your cookout. * Did you forgot to pack a blender or crockpot you may borrow one along with a movie. * A gym is available as well as an office center. Would stay here again if in the area.

I stayed here for more than a week and found it to be very quiet and clean. You do have to realize that you dont get daily maid service but you can get fresh towels at the desk. I appreciated having dishes and utensils available during my stay. The desk was very helpful in getting the same nightly rate for extending my stay. I like walking past the desk to get to my room jic I need anything. I did notice that the elevator was out of compliance by a couple of months which is definitely concerning. Otherwise I would definitely recommend this hotel. Add to that the fact that the peanut mobile stayed here two nights. Any place thats good enough for Mr Peanut is good enough for me!

I am staying at this location for training with my company. The room was a little musty, but clean. The elevator scared me to death because it makes some questionable noises. You're probably wondering why I am giving 5 stars still? The customer service here is EXCEPTIONAL! The front desk personnel are truly so polite and personable that I considered pulling up a seat and hanging out with them. There is a little "store" downstairs where you can purchase items with the honor system and they have a pretty good amount of things to grab quick if needed. There are laundry facilities and a nice little gym. I am not sure if they have a pool, because I don't have time or the desire to swim (I live in FL, so pools don't excite me as much) :) Cons: musty smell in room and halls, elevator is potential death trap Pros: Super comfy bed, full sized fridge, cooktop, dishwasher, and microwave, plenty of storage, nice spacious room, nice flatscreen TV with HDMI plug in (firestick!), staff members are AMAZING and I would definitely stay here again simply because I appreciate people who do such a great job! Customer service and the service/hospitality industry is extremely hard and it is so easy to burn out, so it is amazing to see these employees that truly seem to value guests and seem to enjoy their jobs! Awesome job!

According to…read moretheir website, the Only thing that excites them more than their spirits, is the opportunity to share them. "Handcrafted" isn't just a label to them, it's what they do. Devon, our guide, explained that every part of the process is guided by their hands. They begin with hand-selected grain, then hand-mix and hand-mash the grain to get the perfect blend before distillation begins. We were warmly greeted by Devon, and we were each offered a taste of Kozuba Lemon Flavored Vodka which was very fresh tasting. Definitely there was no chemical aftertaste as I often find in the commercially flavored vodkas. We walked into the distillery and learned that this dream started in 2005 in Poland. Zbigniew "Papa" Kozuba, a biochemist and businessman, retired and moved to the countryside. While there, Papa began tinkering with cordials, continuing a tradition of infused spirits that many Polish families honored. His sons joined him and Papa and his sons turned the hobby into a business. After a few years producing a successful line of cordials, they ordered a hybrid copper still and shortly thereafter, they were distilling vodkas. Later on, the first Polish single malt whiskeys and other varieties of the brown spirit evolved. The family decided to move the business to Florida's Grand Central District - an area thirsty for small-batch, local spirits. They have two handmade German hybrid copper stills which they brought to the U.S., one is for vodkas and the other is used for whiskey. I recommend that everyone take a tour to learn for yourself about the processes. We headed back to the tasting room and experienced several delicious types of vodkas, whiskeys, Sunshine State Agave and cordials, etc. The BarBox Negroni and the Cranberry & Juniper Flavored Vodka were my favorite that day. I'm looking forward to the bourbon being ready soon too. We stopped in their on-site store and did not leave empty-handed.

They have an identity crisis. They want to be a premier resort and spa, but the facilities just don't support it. They could play up the historic side, but the renovations, remodels, and upgrades don't support that. The locations and grounds are great! On the water, beautifully maintained grounds. The main restaurant offers a typically hotel menu, but with so many restaurants in walking distance the competition is rough. There really is no organic, clean, vegetarian, healthy menu you find at most premier resort spas. The spa itself hasn't changed since my last visit, and when viewed through the nostalgic lens, feels much better. The spa treatments and techs are still amazing. Actually, I recognized several employees across the resort and spa from a couple years ago. The people you interact with are great and customer focused. It's the people you don't see or interact with that bring the place down. The repair men, the remodelers, building maintenance - they just do poor work. Every toilet I flushed would drip from the bottom of the tank when flushed. Poorly patched and painted wall damage, elevators with gouges and scratches all through the inside. Two side by side light switches, but the left one controls the right side of the bathroom, the right switch controls the left. The wall plate is crooked with an unpatched space under it. It's the little annoyances, the lack of attention to details that hold this place back. My updated balcony room was great overall and just what I hoped for. They still double charge for resort amenities and they still are the nicest resort and spa in Safety Harbor.
