Five stars for the friendly, enthusiastic, helpful employees. The best thing about this hotel. Unfortunately, besides the employees there is little to recommend about this place. Although my room is nice, other areas of the hotel need to be renovated. There is a musty smell throughout, plus a strong smell of some kind of air freshener. If your room happens to be on the interstate side it is quite noisy. Just a stone's throw from I-65 where semi trucks rumble past both day and night. The front desk employee was extremely friendly and offered extensive area information to the guest who checked in just in front of me. She actually has created a handwritten list of all area restaurants. An employee who truly cares about the hotel guests. Definitely not my first choice of accommodations but sometimes other area hotels are booked up. read more

We stayed in town to visit family and chose the Staybridge bc of its location and larger size rooms. We had 6 people in our party and so had two rooms. My in laws had a room and we were all hanging out there Friday night. We went to get the pull out couch ready for my young kids to sleep on and were lucky to find some items before our kids did. We found an bottle with pink capsules and baggie of white powder along with a bag with a box of bullets, 2 needles, and a balloon full of something hard. We collected everything called the cops to collect. My in laws packed their things and moved to our room. Once the police were notified the front desk was alerted and they moved my in laws to another room. Despite our complaints of the room not being thoroughly cleaned and inspected, they were reimbursed only half of their payment for the room. We also never received a receipt upon check out. Overall a well named facility had not provided the safety and comfort I was looking forward to. read more

Just a short note to everybody who is looking for a hotel in the area - stay away from Candlewood Suites! I know it is difficult to find a room during Purdue graduation, but I would rather sleep in the car before I book again with these thieves (not even mentioning the old, dirty, run-down place of a hotel). By the way, the Hilton Garden Inn is a beautiful location with exceptional service! I wished somebody had posted a warning before I made my booking, so please make sure to NEVER book a room there!!! read more

Stayed here for Purdue parents weekend, as rooms were hard to find. $330 a night for a room that should cost no more than $75 a night. Best thing about the hotel was the staff. Professional, courteous and caring. Room size was good. We had an issue with bugs in the room. We found a roach, a stink bug and a spider. Front desk offered to come kill the roach for us, and an offer to change rooms. We thought if one room had bugs, what are the chances the others don't? Contacted both the hotel management and corporate requesting a refund for the room. All they gave us were IHG points. If there are any options in the area, I would suggest you stay there. read more

Wow! What can I say, the room smelled like it was used for livestock. The chair (leather) was worn down to the stitching. The AC smelled horrid. That's room 120. They don't have a bucket to get ice... Oh here's the fun one, they don't have ABC in the rooms only in the lobby... You can't watch any football games on ABC. We switched rooms, 113 was not cleaned before we got into it. The tub wasn't clean, there were stains and hair. Then we left we're out all day, they didn't clean the room again. CAN I STAY HERE FOREVER? This place is fabulous. A pool, a gym, free laundry, snacks and stuff for sale, a grill, and any household items you can think of to borrow. I felt very comfortable and at home here. I'm sad I only got to stay one night. :( read more

On 7/12/18 we had a confirmed reservation. When we arrived at 10:10pm we were told by the clerk that they were booked. We showed him a screen shot of the confirmation and the email confirmation, still no help. He claimed he tried to contact us but he stated he had no contact information. I made my reservation through the IHG website with "Gold" rewards account. All of my contact info, cell phone and email is listed on my account. Yet, no return call to correct the situation. The worst part was that the clerk did t even have a phone number for customer service. Looks like a nice lobby and plenty of outside parking. Other than that, poor customer service. read more

This hotel is trash the first room we checked into smelled like straight moldy wet carpet. Second room we checked into was alright very skeptical though as to smelling like cigarette smoke. Overall bad hotel! read more

Stayed in for a night. Customer service was ok. Barely explained what they have and what was included. They have a pool, laundry room and a gym. The sheets from the bed were a bit stained. Everything else was clean and they provided microwaveable popcorn, coffee, tea and dishes. Plus free wifi. Overall it was comfy to stay in and for a fair price. read more

Stayed here for almost two weeks. Due to the other yelp reviews stating the place had bed bugs I religiously checked the room and found no sign of bugs or anything concerning. The staff was awesome especially the night staff they went the extra mile and were beyond friendly. The bed were super comfy for a hotel. We stayed two nights - our first and last experience. The room smelled upon entry and we contacted the front desk after our first night to request a room change. We were told to try the garbage disposal. We did this but it became obvious that the sofa was filthy and smelled awful - visibly dirty and smelled of vomit. We were told that it wasn't possible to change rooms and they'd send a cleaning person to "spray" the sofa. We returned after a day on campus, leaving the window open to air the room. The room was cleaned; however, the smell remained and all fans were turned on to help reduce the odor. Needless to say, we didn't sit on the sofa or use it as a bed. We were not asked how we liked our stay at check out...likely for good reason. Our bed was comfortable and it was quiet, front desk staff friendly but not very effective. read more

First time and sad to say last time. Towels were not fluffy as they described but rather rough, maybe what you would see used in a car wash. The blankets had holes and the sheets were stained. And there was a dirty t shirt left by some other guest in the closet. This is a noisy hotel right next to the interstate. I really expected more from Intercontinental hotel group. We booked this hotel for the Purdue - Iowa game. While it is a bit far from campus, all of the close hotels were booked up. The hotel had very nice rooms and everything felt clean. If you can't get a room for the game in town, this is definitely worth checking out. It was quite a bit cheaper as well. Even factoring in cab fare (for those that get to intoxicated to drive) it would still be cheaper than staying on campus by a long shot. Downsides: Cleaning service is only once a week and there is no breakfast available. Not bad considering the cost. read more

Conference room was rented for a special event. That "closet" was better for a one man office (I have seen better one man offices) and we couldn't even get everyone to fit into that cramped little room. Spent most of the time in a guest room or in the lobby. Pretty sad, shouldn't advertise it for anything more than a very small business meeting. We had some people stay there at the hotel just for this occasion and they were most unhappy that we had to find another venue such as a restaurant just to fit comfortably! read more

Very disappointed in the hotel. We were only in our room for 2.5 hours when we discovered bed bugs. My son has bites all over both arms, his back and legs. The bites became infected and the next day we had to visit the urgent care center in town. (You can view the sickening pictures below.) Management offered to pay for the medical bills, and give us 5,000 in hotel points. After much discussion in that we didn't feel that was satisfactory they still wouldn't budge. As of today, one week later, the issue has still not been resolved. As a long time Platinum Priority Club member I certainly expected more from IHG. Guess we'll be booking into the Hilton chain from now on. read more

The room is nice, the gym is O.K. and the staff are friendly. However, no breakfast because "there is a kitchen in the room." (I've stayed in plenty of Hotels with Kitchens, yet Breakfast is supplied) The biggest turnoff however is the Internet. The Internet is some of the worst I've experienced at any hotel. I'm writing this review using my Data on a mobile hotspot because the hotel internet wouldn't connect to Yelp. Our business relies pretty heavily on a good internet connection, so I had to go to a coffee shop for two hours to do my work. (Sure not so bad hanging out at the coffee shop, but I shouldn't HAVE to do this when the Hotel advertises Free High Speed Internet. TL;DR Come here if you don't want breakfast, and you don't care about Internet. read more

Maybe my colleague found the one and only bed bug. He most definitely squashed one. I'm sure they r doing their best and sometimes this happens but I didn't like that it seems they didn't believe he found and squashed one. They said they didn't see evidence of it on the sheet and then said he could of got the bites somewhere else. Believe me, he didn't. read more
