This is an outstanding Bed and Breakfast with spectacular cuisine and comfortable surroundings, minutes north of the Purdue University campus in West Lafayette, Indiana. Breakfast was included in our stay and we also took advantage of the dinner (at Additional cost ). This was a tremendous way to spend a weekend on campus in a far more comfortable environment than a hotel. Elizabeth and Andrew of the Whittaker inn are incredible hosts. We will visit again!

Our first stay at this lovely and pleasant inn. They have small touches that make is extra nice. Breakfast served to your room for one and all made to order. Great meal too! Comfortable bed and accommodating care such as making sure we did not have feather pillows. My wife is very sensitive to feathers and pet dander. The room we had was dog friendly which is usually death for her, but the hardwood floors and cleanliness made it a non-issue! Great AC, though we could use a heavier comforter it was a quiet and pleasant nights sleep. Love the night kitchen and special hot drinks. Love gummie bears and cookies too. They make you feel very welcome and we hope to be back!

One decoration in the Tanzania room. So cute!

Sometimes German fare like brats potato salad is on the menu. Love the whipped feta and cider donuts! Urban Apples in Westfield, Indiana- save yourself the trip. Don't go…read more It was my first time here. I walked in and wasn't sure if I needed to wait to be seated, or seat myself. There were at least 7 employees standing there, and none of them greeted me. When they dispersed I was able to see that you order at the counter. I ordered a breaded pork tenderloin, and asked if they had iced tea for a drink. The girl behind the register had to ask if they have tea (they don't). I opted for a Dr Pepper instead, and was handed a lukewarm can with a small cup of ice. The kiosk seemed to be lagging as I was ordering. I tried to tap my phone, and it didn't seem to respond. When I tried to tap the screen it changed a split second before I touched it, and I accidentally clicked on a tip. (18% is the minimum choice.) Oh well. I was given a buzzer and seated myself. About 10 minutes later the buzzer went off, and I went to get my food. There were 4 girls behind the counter who ignored me because they were too busy laughing and joking. I waved the buzzer at them, and one handed me my food. The "tenderloin" was tiny and burned. It was only very slightly larger than the bun. The breading didn't have any flavor (unless "burned" is a flavor). This thing was really just a bad fritter. The fries tasted cold and old. They have a station with about a dozen ketchup bottles near the counter- the first three bottles I picked up were empty. So, I accidentally tipped 18% for zero service, zero greeting, a canned soda, and a burned sandwich with cold fries. The entire time I was there the staff just stood behind the counter gossiping and laughing loudly. Apart from ringing in the order, they did nothing for me at all. I don't like to give bad reviews, but this was the worst "tenderloin" I've had in a long time. Add the lack of service, and you've got a recipe for failure. I'll never be back here again.

It was a clear evening so I was able to enjoy the balcony. This is a good location if you want to enjoy Downtown Lafayette. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. This was evident throughout the hotel during my stay. The lobby is a nice, comfortable place to meet up to relax and chat (except for that odor). The bar is nice as well. I haven't had a mixed drink there, so I can't make recommendations on that. Wine selection is average. The hotel was completely renovated approximately 2 years ago. Decor is new/modern. My room was clean and comfortable. They took out the pool when they did the renovation. There is still a small workout room. Now, why only 2 stars. In addition to the smell of gas throughout, I could not take a shower. Considering the new renovations, the state of the shower in my room was deplorable. And my room isn't the only one like that. We have associates that come in town and stay here. It is hit or miss on the showers depending on the room. Suites appear to have been completed with very nice showers and tubs so they typically try to book a suite. Regular rooms, all I can guess is they ran out of money??? I've posted pics for you. There are two other very nice hotels just across the river if you want to be in the downtown area. You'll pay a little more, but at least you'll be able to shower.

I was very happy with TownePlace Suites, so I was curious about how this Home2 Suites. It's very new, so everything was still sparkling. One interesting thing is that while there's a kitchenette with all the equipments, there's no cook top. I could see the spot they had saved for cook top even with a built-in microwave range hood, but we couldn't cook. We could only use the microwave. So if you want to stay here like renting a monthly apartment or weekly apartment, you probably should go to TownePlace Suites. The breakfast was okay, quite standard. The staff was very friendly and kind. I have Hilton Gold membership, so I could choose MyWay benefits. I chose one bottle of water and one snack item for Home2 Suites; however, when I checked in, the front desk forgot to give me. I later went back to ask for the water and snack, but they only could give me a bottle of water as snack ran out. Not a big deal, but I was a bit disappointed. I was there 3 days 2 nights, so they could have given me the next day if they had it, but I didn't hear from them. I didn't bother to ask anyways.
