    Ants

The rooms are updated which is nice but smells musty and try to hide with air freshener. The room has ants everywhere and when told they didn't try to accommodate with another room just said they would tell maintenance. No matter covers on the bed and the roll out couch was dirty! Night stands were covered in dust. I don't recommend staying here!!!

Clogged kitchen sink that would fill up when running dishwasher or washing hands. Took hours to drain. Ugh!!!

I wish I could give it a 0 star review. I'll start out with a positive note. They are pet friendly. Some of the employees seem nice. Besides the building being dated it also needs lots of repairs. When we first arrived in our room we thought it smelled like cigarette smoke and the window was open. During our stay we noticed mold on the curtains, the kitchen sink was stopped up and when we ran the dishwasher it would fill up and took hours to drain. The garbage disposal was also broken. We were in a two bedroom suite and there was only one TV. The one in the bedroom was missing. We asked for them to put one in and it never happened The 3rd day of our stay the fire alarm for the whole building went off numerous times. Our poor pups were freaking out. We vacated the building each time. I could hear dogs in other rooms barking hysterically. I assume their owners weren't home to get them out. It would have been nice of the Management to warn the visitors. I talked to the woman at the front desk and was told that they were working on the system and this could continue for the next three days. The women at the desk never even said an "I'm sorry for the inconvenience " and didn't seem concerned at all when I mentioned other residents dogs being locked in their rooms terrified and barking. We tried to find another pet friendly hotel to move to but there were none available close by. We had to cancel our plans because we did not feel comfortable leaving our dogs. I will add that we were in town for my mother's funeral and had no choice but to stay despite the awful conditions of the hotel.

I was headed to a family wedding in St. Charles, MO and needed a place to stay. My first choice of hotels was booked, but I noticed that Towneplace Suites by Marriott had a very solid 4-star rating; albeit it only for 16 reviews. However, I should have taken notice that none of the reviews were written in 2017 and things had changed a little bit. Upon our arrival, I was relieved to see that even though the hotel was on a busy street, it was set very far back from the street and was not as close to the interstate as I initially thought. The hotel lobby and exterior were clean, as was our room. However, my "front" door was poorly fitted and let in a huge amount of ambient light from the hallway at night. I like it pitch black at night, so this was definitely a pet peeve for me. And while we are speaking of rooms, I have to say that a full length mirror would have been appreciated anywhere in the room and would have been helpful while getting dressed for the wedding. Also, I found it hard to believe that the bathroom did not have an exhaust vent, which left the room looking like a steam room after my wife was done with her shower. And speaking of exhaust vents, I pity the people who may need the exhaust vent for malodorous emanations. Also, I failed to read that this hotel was pet friendly, and I mean VERY pet friendly. Although I don't own any pets, I've got nothing against them. However, the "large sounding:" dog down the hallway let everyone know he was lurking behind locked doors as he was always barking. Speaking of loud, there didn't seem to be a lot of sound deadening insulation in the building, as lots of ambient sound made its way into our room. To add insult to injury, while walking to our car, I stepped in a pile of dog crap that looked as if a grizzly bear had just relieved himself. And I couldn't fine a hose anywhere to hose it off. After our first night's stay, we hit the town to do some exploring and sightseeing. To our dismay, when we returned from our room, we found that that door had been left propped open by the housekeeping staff. Although I know this was some sort of oversight so that they could come back to our room to finish up some housekeeping chore, our room was left unsecured for at least 6-8 hours. And even though I think the staff had integrity, any guest could have walked into our room and helped themselves to any of our personal belongings. (Not cool). On day 2, after returning to the hotel from a day of adventure, we discovered that no bath towels had been left for us. I went to front desk to request 2 bath towels and was informed that they were all out of clean towels. I was told they'd bring some to room in 30 minutes. After 60 minutes, we left to eat some dinner and came back later that evening. Now, some four hours later, we came back to our room only so still have no bath towels. Once again I went to front desk and it took a while for someone to finally come out from the back. When I advised the manager that I was STILL waiting on bath towels, he advise me that he would "go to the back" and get them; which he did. He did apologize and explained to me that he was actually folding all the towels for the hotel. (What kind of hotel has the desk manager on towel detail?) Although it looked inviting, the pool was always way too crowded for us to want to bring our 5 year old in it. It was a hot weekend, so everyone wanted to swim. However, the pool looked like "Caddy Day" at Bushwood Country Club in the Caddyshack movie. On a positive note, Towneplace Suites was a pretty good value. Even though we did not cook a meal in our room, we loved having a full kitchen, to include a refrigerator/freezer, electric stove / oven, microwave oven, dishwasher and coffee maker. Their Continental breakfast featured a decent selection for everyone. However, it is my opinion that scrambled eggs should be offered every day, as I had to opt for boiled eggs on day # 2. However, I can only give it 2 stars as the open door and towel debacles were unacceptable. This place could have easily been a 3-star (A-Ok) pick for me if my door would have been locked and fresh towels returned to me in a timely manner. Unfortunately, they seemed to drop the ball on my visit. Attention to detail goes a long way in my book.

I'll be back because this place was tops. Grilling area with Weber Grilling accessories and they give you a choice of complimentary spices!! Nice, clean outdoor pool area. Complimentary full breakfast with friendly staff members. Beverage station with fruit infused waters. Lots of parking. Nothing negative to say. AMEN!!

We stayed here over Easter. My bed smelled, so I pulled back the sheets.

Pulled back the sheets because the bed smelled. This is what I found. I slept on the sofa which I'm not sure was better. Housekeeping has to know that's there. At least flip the mattress. I stay on Marriott properties about 100 nights a year. This is not their standard.

That's the most that we can close the bedroom door because it drags on the carpet

This place is a huge disappointment from the check-in. Some of the little things would be easier to overlook if the staff on site was more helpful and friendly rather than condescending and dismissive. I arrived in St. Louis after dark and had difficulty finding the hotel as it sits back off of the road behind a Golden Corral. When I called the hotel directly and told them I was lost, I asked if they could help me get there from where I was at and the man working the front desk was horribly rude. He did act fine when I checked in. When we got up to the room, it was stuffy and warm. We discovered that was partly due to the fact that one of the air units does not work properly. One of our TV remotes did not work so I asked my son to go down to the front desk and ask if we could have another one. I also asked him to request two additional towels. When he reached the desk, the same man was on duty, and he told my son they don't have any other remotes and he would not give him two additional towels. He questioned why we needed more towels, "do you not have the three we already gave you?" Then he said he couldn't give us any additional towels because they were all being laundered. To top off our arrival, when we went to make up the pull out sofa bed, I found that we had no sheets. It was approximately 10:15 PM and I called the front desk to ask if they could send some up. The same man who was at the front desk when we arrived and had already been so rude, told me I could come down and get them. I explained that I was in my pajamas and asked if there was someone who could simply bring them up. He said, " it's just me ma'am and I can't leave because I am checking people in." I sent my son down to get the sheets and in fact, the man was walking them up and met him halfway. The next morning, breakfast did not open until 7 AM and we had to be at a soccer game at 8 AM which means we had to leave the Hotel by 7:10 AM. We went directly to the breakfast area when we returned from our soccer game, at approximately 9:50 AM. Half or more of the breakfast items had already been packed up and put away at that time, and it was made crystal clear to us that we were causing them a huge inconvenience by trying to eat from what was left out. In fact, they continued to put things away without even asking if we would like anything. I called the front desk later in the morning to ask about the TV remote again. This time a lady was on duty and although not super friendly, she was helpful and sent up a maintenance man. He took the remote with him and said he would be back but never returned. Approximately three hours later, I went to the front desk and asked about the remote. Unfortunately for me, the same man from the previous night was on duty and he said there was nothing he could do for me. I asked if I would be charged for a missing remote and he laughed as if I were stupid, and said "of course not." I will never stay at this location again and I'm not sure that I will ever want to stay at a Marriott again either. What a horrible experience. Granted, the rate was very good but the hotel room was also in poor condition. I would not recommend wasting your money unless you just need a quick place to lay your head. This is not the place you want to take your family to spend a nice weekend.

The staff here are amazing! Very nice and helpful. The breakfast is typical muffin and fruit. The rooms are out dated. I think that's why the rates are so reasonable. You can get cheaper rates on hotels.com Instead of going through the hotel directly. You have to wait a while for hot water in the shower in the morning if you are looking for updated this isn't the place but you get what you pay for....and that includes the full kitchen stocked and a dishwasher

Can you believe we only stayed one night! This man packs like he is moving out every trip we take...LOL

Room 210 -Another late review -this location was very simple yet nice. We passed the location twice before we actually noticed it was tucked away behind the Golden Corral. We stayed Saturday night 10/29/16 for 7,500 Marriott reward points. We came in town to help the kiddos move back. The room was clean, comfy and cozy- we were both pleased. As small as this property is we were shocked that they even served breakfast. The service was amazing and the staff was super friendly; we will definitely return as we are frequent visitors to the area. The parking lot was well lit and all of the public areas were clean without an odor (as some locations). We were very shocked at how spacious and nicely organized the room was also. They simplified the check in and out process as well. I LOVE BEING A MARRIOTT REWARDS MEMBER!

This is absolutely the worst Marriott, I've ever stayed at!. And I stay at Marriott's about 2 weeks a month. After driving for 10 hours, we arrived tired and ready relax. The clerk at front desk Samantha Bowles : who turns out to be the GM. Was rude ,unwelcoming, irritated that we couldn't print our vouchers on you printer. As i continueto print blank pages on your printer ,finally the maintenance guy decided to come see if he could get it to work. It did not. So my husband asked if they had an email that we could send it to. She responded by rolling her eyes and handed him a card. So I proceed to forward her the email. When my husband goes back to check in , it's apparent that she's frustrated. Finally get in room. After 10 hours on the road all I can think is Hot Bath to soak n unwind. That was when bad got worse! I noticed 2 body hairs on edge of tub ( grouse!). So I decided to clean the tub myself only to find more hair and ring in tub. Shower shoes and quick shower is what I ended up with. On the plus side morning staff was very friendly. We spoke briefly with Monica about Samantha she apologized. I am glad that the bed was very comfortable and I was able to sleep throughout the night. Sadly I will not be staying here on my way back through.

Everything seemed fine until the night of July 2, when I received a call after 9 PM from what appeared to be a personal number. The caller, who identified herself as a hotel employee or manager, informed me that due to a "maintenance issue" she didn't expect to be resolved in time, she needed to move us to a different room. She initially offered a King Suite, which I declined because we needed separate beds. She then said the only other option was a standard 2 Queen room, explaining that there were only four suites and the others had been booked "months ago." I couldn't verify that, but I distinctly remember seeing multiple suites available when I made my reservation. I can't prove it but the timing and explanation felt suspicious. To make matters worse, the call was clearly made from her home. In the background, people were shouting and a dog was barking loudly. She began yelling at them with the phone still at her mouth so I was essentially being shouted at. When I asked her to stop yelling into the phone, she launched into a personal rant about her family. Honestly, I didn't need or want to hear that. We discussed room options, and I reluctantly agreed to a ground floor 2 Queen room. She tried to frame it as a favor, saying I'd be saving money since the suite was more expensive. Of course, I already knew that, the suite had more space, an extra bathroom, and a separate sitting area, which is exactly why I booked it. She said she'd "discount" the new room to $150 base rate. After the call, I logged into the Best Western site to review the updated reservation. The new room didn't meet our needs; it lacked even a comfortable chair to relax in after a long drive. Just a couple of wooden chairs at a table. For a leisure trip, this downgrade felt like a deal-breaker, so I canceled the reservation. Out of curiosity, I checked the current rate for the same type of room she moved us to and it was listed at $136 base rate. So her "discounted" rate of $150 was actually more expensive than the standard rate I could've booked myself. That felt incredibly dishonest. At that point, I was glad I canceled. I no longer trusted the hotel or its staff. I'm disappointed we had to cancel our trip altogether; we could've found another hotel, but the experience left a bad taste in our mouths, and we've decided to stay home for the holiday instead.

Boone's Colonial is not a traditional bed and breakfast. First, there is no one on-sight. You must call before arrival and the innkeeper will let you in and give you the keys. Second, there isn't a breakfast, though there are snacks and water. Finally, they do have nightly housekeeping. In regards to staying, there are pros and cons. 1. We stayed in the French Colonial suite. This suite is street level and walks out onto the pedestrian sidewalk. It wasn't overly noisy, but lacked privacy. Lots of people walked by and glanced into the windows of our room. Also, you can hear street traffic at night though that died down after midnight. I thought the "right in the heart of it" location was fun once I got over the initial shock. 2. There was another couple on the first floor with us staying in the Spanish Colonial suite. That room is also street level but faces the back alley. It has a queen bed, the French has a king. We did not hear them at all which was a pleasant surprise in an old building. 3. The room had its own air conditioner but I'm not convinced it worked. Well, it worked, but I don't think it ever got as cool as we wanted at night. 4. We brought our son and they made a little cot up for him which was very nice. 5. The room is missing a few comforts including an ironing board, a safe, lotion, a fan, and we only had two pillows. 6. The room has Netflix. 7. I had read on the Inn's site that it came with French bath products and a Colonial nightgown set. It did not. The bath products and towels were definitely a missed opportunity to make the stay extra special. The products were all mismatched samples and the towels were worn. 8. The bed is very comfortable. We slept well. Overall, at $250 per night, I think the price is a little much for what you get, but it's a very nice room and the location seems safe and fun. We were most definitely comfortable.
