As a self-proclaimed enjoyer of delicious vittles, I'm always on the lookout for places where I can pop in and get something sweet. Candy Dish came highly recommended by a friend, and so, when I was in Nashville, I made a point to visit! My thing is chocolate, so I headed straight for the display case of chocolates. Candy Dish has chocolates galore: old-fashioned chocolates like mint meltaways and haystacks, peanut butter cups (giant ones the size of an adult hand and regular-sized ones), Buckeyes, bonbons, chocolate-covered caramels, chocolate-covered pretzels, chocolate-covered almonds ... you get the idea. Lots of chocolate! I had a hard time choosing what to get, but I ended up getting a milk chocolate salted caramel and a turtle, which is a chocolate-covered caramel with pecans in it. The taffy section of Candy Dish is off the candy chain. If I had my children with me, they would have headed straight for the taffy bins, because they love that sticky-sweet confection. This candy store also has bulk old-fashioned candies that your grandmother used to have at the bottom of her purse, like butterscotch disks and peppermints, as well as the kinds of candies that parents dread because they're a choking hazard: Lemonheads, Atomic FireBalls, jawbreakers and root beer barrels. Nashville is a sea of cute shops, and Candy Dish is definitely one you'll want to visit. read more

Nashville, Indiana is filled with myriad stores carrying all sorts of crafts, toys and knickknacks. They also have some great candy shoppes. I have been to Brown County and Nashville many times and walked around these shops, but I've never actually tasted the goods. Well, it was time to change that on my most recent trip! The Candy Dish carries a wide assortment of chocolates, fudge and, well, candy! I wanted to try a few different options, and the attendant behind the counter was very helpful. I came away with a little something for everyone: chocolate fudge, caramel turtles and a giant chocolate-dipped marshmallow for my youngest. I also picked up a yummy little square of dark chocolate sea salt caramel to share with a friend. The Candy Dish is a cute little spot in the heart of Nashville. I highly recommend stopping in on your next visit. Personally, I can't wait to get back down to Nashville soon! read more

Extensive selection of taffy right up front (prepackaged small bags right now I'm guessing for COVID), but other candies seem reasonably priced. My daughter's choices included Zotz (4-pack for $.59), Airheads ($.59), and Pop Rocks dip ($1.24). Great block to walk for candy with three shops. read more

Right off the main drag in Nashville, IN! Cute little store with so many treats, goodies and fudge that I was overwhelmed with options. At first I left without anything because I worried about calories and then I realized how amazing their prices were and heck - It's the last week of my 20s, I need to live a little! I went back and the nice staff behind the counter laughed because they knew I'd be back, I was too in love with their truffles. I got an assortment of flavors including Irish Cream, strawberry cheesecake, amaretto and more! I also want to add that this is one of the few places where staff were actually wearing masks (correctly) in their store. I was very disheartened with the lack of social distancing happening overall in the town and so many people visiting and working that weren't wearing masks, so it made me feel respected and safe as a Customer to know they cared enough about my health enough to protect me. Taking the kids in... and yes, it's kids in a candy store = oh my! Big bins of taffy right at the front window is so cool! And lots of flavors of Carmel and a few chocolates too. Fudge made in house, and also some fresh nuts. Not to mention a whole lot of old fashioned candy types! So cool! Hard for the kids to pick only 2 pieces of candy! We were hitting up all kinds of place in Nashville one weekend and of course had to check out the candy stores. The main reason my husband asked to come to this particular store was their advertised salt water taffy, he had a craving and so we hit it up. Lots of flavor choices and now that we have consumed all that we bought (and we tried most), I can say that I liked them all except the chocolate. That's a pretty good percentage of deliciousness. It smelled like baked goods when we walked in so I am proud of myself for not going crazy and buying one of everything. All of their chocolate goodies looked so good. We popped in here on a rainy day after lunch to wait for our car to be pulled a little closer. The staff were excellent and even on vacation I had been sticking to eating better so I deserved a treat. They had a ton of cooked items (Which I had gotten a dark chocolate truffle) My grandpa got a cashew cluster type thing which he liked but was a little hard for him to chew. (Not anything they did, he just should have done something not so nutty but try telling him that!) My kiddo got some chocolate coins which were actually a little better than the ones we normally get. Every time I am in Little Nashville I have to hit this store. I love their buckeyes! Also, their hand dipped chocolate cashews are to die for. This is an awesome store for candy lovers. The ladies are super nice and helpful. Fair warning... It's super easy to spend money here. Also, if you have small kids there is a lot of candy right in their reach. A little candy store in a little town in Indiana. We stopped in Nashville for a couple of hours based on recommendations from friends in Indianapolis. While walking around downtown Nashville, we came across this candy store (one among many in the town). They make fudge right in the store on marble tables. It is very, very good. They also offer a variety of other sweet confections. I walked out with two "buckeyes" (chocolate covered peanut butter); one dark chocolate-covered rice crispy treat; and two milk chocolate covered pretzel sticks. All were very tasty. read more

Very disappointed!!! The candy is great but the older lady that waited on us was very rude. We were there on September 15 around noon . We got our candy went to the register and there were 2 people in front of us that paid with a card but no ID was asked for . So when we went to pay with a card she rolled her eyes and exhaled like we just ruined her day. She asked for ID and then said we don't take that card which was a chip reader. So with that we turned around and walked out. Very rude lady . We will not go back to brown county to shop again. Ruin the experience. read more

The woman working here was extremely rude. Here's what happened: My 2 year old stood on the small brick ledge outside of the building and the woman knocked on the window and yelled at her to get off. I went inside to NICELY ask what was wrong. She snapped at me, stating that it was part of their building at it is not to be walked on, that people walk on it all the time and, though my daughter is small and probably wouldn't hurt anything, she shouldn't be on there. That people "shouldn't walk on buildings". I told her that perhaps she should hang a sign, and she replied, "No, people would tear it down." In short, this woman was a total hag. I know, you're thinking maybe my kid was misbehaving or whatever, but honestly, this was not the case at all. Nor is she the hulk, capable of breaking a brick wall. Furthermore, if you don't like kids, don't work in a candy store! I certainly regret shopping here and will never return. I rarely leave a bad review, but this woman was way out of line and the situation could have been handled entirely in a different manner. She was really unprofessional. Go across the street to the other candy store and save yourself grief. read more

We stopped in on 3/29/14 around 1:30pm to purchase some peanut butter fudge. When we walked in a sign stated that the fudge could be purchased by the slice. 1 slice was the equivalent to one pound for 9.99 or you could purchase a half slice. No price was posted for a half slice. Knowing that there would be no way we could consume an entire pound we asked for a 1/2 slice. We were surprised to see that when they weighed the 1/2 slice and rang up the total that it came up to a little over $8.00. When we looked at the price on the glass to verify the purchase the staff member seemed irritated by the slight confusion and responded "if you didn't want this much you should have said something before I cut it. I watched you. You saw me cut it and bring it here to the register. You should have said something before I rang up the item". She said this with an attitude of frustration and annoyance as if we were wasting her time. We apologized and explained that we didn't know a smaller amount was an option based on the lack of information on the posted sign. As we went to pay we naturally pulled out our credit card. We tried handing the card to the attendant when she quickly snapped with a sigh, "I see you have a credit card. Your total has to be over ten dollars to use a credit card." If she didn't already make it aware that our business was unwanted and unappreciated we sure got the signal now. The attendant stood there in awkward silence, with no remedy for the situation other than "Do you have cash??". This is 2014. No, we choose to use cards. Without any further hesitation we decided to leave the store. Earlier in the day the candy shop across the street was able to do business with us for seven dollars, with no hassle of using our debit/credit card. Do yourself a favor and do your business across the street where your time and patronage is truly appreciated. read more
