I had some ice cream while I was here and it was pretty good. The cashier was really sweet. It appears like there are lots of different options for candy and popcorn in the shop which is great.

OMy brother, Riley, invited me to come and watch him make fudge in Nashville, IN ! He works at Nashville Fudge Kitchen and boy am I envious ! Today seemed to be a busy day. The people were bustling and there was a delicious smell as soon as you walk in ! The store sells a heck of a lot more than fudge, though. They also make and sell their own popcorn, other chocolate candies, taffy, gelato, ice cream, and some other random candies. I spent about an hour-ish of my time just watching him make fudge and chatting with his super sweet boss ! Riley is skilled in various martial arts and said that making fudge uses a lot of the same moves, something I found very interesting ! When I asked him what he wanted me to say to his future "fans" he said "please come buy fudge, I work really hard on it" ! I came home with some dark chocolate bourbon fudge, butter pecan fudge, chocolate fudge (made by my brother and suuuper delicious !), cotton candy popcorn, chocolate dipped cookie dough, chocolate chip cookie taffy, and an interesting lollipop !

Great fudge, great ice cream and gelato! The staff are always friendly. We live in Columbus and it's nice to stop here on our way into or out of town whenever we come.

This amazing ice cream/fudge/popcorn shop has been on my radar for quite a while, however this is the first time I've been able to go in and have their amazing ice cream! I couldn't decide which one to have, so after sampling a few, decided on a double cone of peanut butter moose tracks and bear claw. Unbelievable! They also have a wide variety of popcorn flavors as you can see by the pictures. They do have a lot of samples open for you to try so make sure to do so. Super nice staff. I will definitely return when I'm in the area.

The Fudge I bought! Warm PB!!! Mmm

Delicious Fudge!!!! Went in there wondering what options they had and pricing. Came out with over a half a pound of PB Fudge! Still warm bc they had just made it!!! Only $5.95 per half lb! Very inviting and friendly staff and the place had a very local hometown kitchen vibe! Also had a huge array of Carmel apples and popcorns! This place was great and the quality of their fudge was amazing! Mmmm Check them out if your in the mood for great prices and delicious treats!

The gelato was always great. But, the today it was like flavored ice crystals. No creamy texture like always before. Disappointing.

Don't you just love that? The BLT at The Chocolate Moose is served on a toasted croissant, with slices of crispy bacon, lettuce and tomato. You can get it with mayo or not (I did not). I think the smart move is to ask for extra bacon. The extra bacon put this sandwich over the top! I don't know if it was because of the extra bacon, or because it was tomato season, but the BLT was perfect and just what I needed. I got some potato wedges to go with my sandwich, and I loved those almost as much as my sandwich. Dang, The Chocolate Moose! Who knew you had such good food? Everyone is raving about the ice cream, but I'm over here screaming (OK, murmuring) about the food. I'm not the biggest ice cream fan, but I do occasionally enjoy ice cream as long as it has some stuff in it. It needs texture and things I can chew on. One of my favorite ice cream treats is a turtle sundae, because it has pecans and caramel in it -- a winning combination. Because I was at an ice cream shop, I thought, "What the heck?" and ordered a cup of sweet mucus -- I mean, ice cream. The turtle sundae that I got at The Chocolate Moose was great! I just wish it had more pecans, but I suppose you can ask for them, which I didn't think to do. They have several different kinds of sundaes, as well as ice cream sandwiches, milkshakes and vegan ice cream. There's a drive-thru, which is convenient, but there is very little parking, which is inconvenient. The people that I encountered who work here were super friendly and nice, which was nice.

Candy Dish came highly recommended by a friend, and so, when I was in Nashville, I made a point to visit! My thing is chocolate, so I headed straight for the display case of chocolates. Candy Dish has chocolates galore: old-fashioned chocolates like mint meltaways and haystacks, peanut butter cups (giant ones the size of an adult hand and regular-sized ones), Buckeyes, bonbons, chocolate-covered caramels, chocolate-covered pretzels, chocolate-covered almonds ... you get the idea. Lots of chocolate! I had a hard time choosing what to get, but I ended up getting a milk chocolate salted caramel and a turtle, which is a chocolate-covered caramel with pecans in it. The taffy section of Candy Dish is off the candy chain. If I had my children with me, they would have headed straight for the taffy bins, because they love that sticky-sweet confection. This candy store also has bulk old-fashioned candies that your grandmother used to have at the bottom of her purse, like butterscotch disks and peppermints, as well as the kinds of candies that parents dread because they're a choking hazard: Lemonheads, Atomic FireBalls, jawbreakers and root beer barrels. I have been to Brown County and Nashville many times and walked around these shops, but I've never actually tasted the goods. Well, it was time to change that on my most recent trip! The Candy Dish carries a wide assortment of chocolates, fudge and, well, candy! I wanted to try a few different options, and the attendant behind the counter was very helpful. I came away with a little something for everyone: chocolate fudge, caramel turtles and a giant chocolate-dipped marshmallow for my youngest. I also picked up a yummy little square of dark chocolate sea salt caramel to share with a friend. The Candy Dish is a cute little spot in the heart of Nashville. I highly recommend stopping in on your next visit. Personally, I can't wait to get back down to Nashville soon!

I couldn't help myself when I saw that they were featuring two special wines, and one of them was a Sauvignon Blanc called Sincerite. I had never tasted this particular wine, but it sounded special! And sincere! It was good, but maybe a little too sweet for my palate. Isn't that sometimes the way with those earnest wines? I visited for lunch when I just wanted a little something. So I got the soup of the day -- a bean and beef number in a tomatoey broth. It came with a fennel-seed-studded roll. The soup was amazing and tasted like something a mom or dad or grandma or grandpa would make: just kind of simple and hearty and good. I also got the Hobnob Green Salad, which is mesclun topped with shredded cheese, mushrooms, cubes of turkey and croutons. I'm not a big fan of raw mushroom slices in general, and particularly on a salad, so I picked off the mushrooms like a petulant child and ate the rest of the salad. My soup and salad went really well with my cold glass of Sauv Blanc. Hobnob Corner was very busy when I visited!
