Stopped in once I got into town after about 4:30 pm Friday. Friendly staff that carried…read moreconversation and also answered questions we had about the menu. Our large order included two rib plates, yet after waiting for almost a hour, with numerous other customers coming in and out, someone from the back finally came out and announced that they had ran out of ribs and the wait for ribs would be a hour long... we had already been waiting for a hour tho ?? The miscommunication / lack of communication from the kitchen had some customers ready to get their money back, but my order of ribs finally came out after another 30 mins ... I ordered a rib and pork plate with Mac and cheese and potato salad as sides (7.5/10) I enjoyed the potato salad the most. The ribs looked big, but there really wasn't much meat on them compared to the size of the bone. Both the pork and ribs were dry and def needed the sauce that was included. The meats with the sauce did have good seasoning / flavor tho. I also tried their banana pudding (8/10). I'd stop back in here when in town again, but next time, eat in the actual restaurant when it's fresh and hot. My overall rate of experience : 7.8/10

If you're looking for the go-to BBQ spot in Selma, this is it. No question. This place delivers…read morethat authentic, Southern, mom-and-pop barbecue experience that you hope for when you're in Alabama. They cover most of the BBQ classics -- pork, chicken, ribs, burgers, and all the traditional Southern sides -- though no brisket here. Honestly? You won't even miss it. We ordered the 1/2 lb of BBQ pork plate with fried okra and corn nuggets (the plate comes with two sides, which is perfect). The pork was everything great barbecue should be: moist, smoky, tender, and packed with flavor. You could taste the care in every bite. It's the kind of meal that makes you slow down and savor it. The fried okra was crispy and seasoned just right, and the corn nuggets were golden little bites of happiness -- slightly sweet, crunchy outside, soft inside. A perfect pairing with the pork. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They gladly offered suggestions for sides and made us feel like regulars even though it was our first visit. That kind of hospitality makes a big difference. Parking is right out front -- probably around eight spots -- and they do fill up quickly, especially at lunch. The restaurant was busy with mostly locals, which is always a great sign. The location is tucked away in a residential area, so definitely look up directions beforehand. There's a small street sign, but it's easy to miss if you're not paying attention. All in all, this spot has that genuine small-town BBQ charm with big-time flavor. If you're in Selma and craving real Southern barbecue, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

We also added in some fried hot wings, which were crunchy and pleasantly spiced. On the side, we enjoyed the crispy slaw and sweet corn nuggets. Of course we washed it all down with some sweet tea. The staff here was friendly and engaging and I can say that both the woman at the food station and the woman at the checkout were great. The customers were also friendly. This place had a great vibe. I ordered the chicken here and for my sides, I went with the potato wedges and onion rings. All were excellent. Prices were in line with what you would expect. The half chicken with two sides was somewhere around thirteen dollars and a large iced tea was I believe two dollars and fifty cents. Robertson BBQ is just about ten minutes off of the highway and it is definitely worth the detour. All in all, Robertson BBQ is a fantastic place for barbecue and I would definitely recommend it and I will give it five stars.

It is a short scenic detour off I-20 and well worth the time. The setting is an old gas station and the seating area is small. But the food is all the reviews say it is. Delicious! We had pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, onion rings and homemade strawberry cake. All was very tasty. Others inour group said the ribs, chicken and grilled cheese were equally good. I like to find the out of the way 'mom & pop' spots on our travels. We give Robertsons BBQ 5 stars for food and 4 stars for seating capacity. Try it. You won't be disappointed.
