It is part of a large sports complex and there is plenty of parking with a lot covered. The park is separated into a small dog area (dogs under 20 pounds) and large dogs. There is a large grassy area with chairs for owners and a picnic table to sit at. There is also a water spigot to give your dog some water. There were also some toys for them to play but you can bring your own of course. When we entered several small dogs came over to greet us and our pup. He was happy to see others his size and went crazy with all the smells. Many of the other owners introduced themselves and their dogs. Most of the dogs played together and all got along. We will definitely be back to let our little guy have some fun off the leash. (Forgot to take pictures because I was so busy with the dogs and owners so will take some next time.)

I was able to come here in the middle of the week around noon. The GPS made this place easy to find. There is plenty of parking here at pena adobe park and lagoon valley park. The hike is located at lagoon valley park, so don't mix those up. You do have to pay $5 for parking, and the machine kiosk was broken when I went, but you can still pay through the park mobile app, which is what I did. The hike is listed as moderate, but felt borderline difficult to me (maybe I'm just out of shape). There is a lot of up hill when you first start, and because there wasn't a lot of shade combined with me going on the hottest day of the week (low 80 degrees), it did make it feel more difficult. After I parked, I was a bit confused on where to go so had to ask someone finishing up their hike for the direction. I was instructed to go up the main trail past the gate for the main trail to the lighthouse at the top. There are lots of trails here, but the one to the top of the hill is the most popular, and probably the most difficult). Once you park in the lot by the lake/pond, you cross the road to the grassy side and follow that trail to the gate that keeps the cows inside. There is another easier hike/walk your can take around the lake/pond, which is mostly flat. The views on this hike are great. Despite it being a little warmer, the breeze helped a lot. I liked the views and made it to the top after about 1 and a half hours. In total, it took me about 2 hours to finish the hike. And that's with a 20 minute break halfway going uphill. Going downhill is a lot faster. I'll be back for one of the other trails and how to bring family and friends to join.

Ive been to a couple of parties in the large bbq area which is great for renting out for your event. There is a public pool, tennis courts, soccer fields, baseball fields, a skateboard area, and a dog park. Im lucky enough to live just a short walk away, so I often take my two dogs walking over there for a good hour or two. In the middle of the day on a week day it is beautiful and quiet. Its great to have such a nice park so close to home!

Overall it was a very clean place with plenty of dirt and grass for the pooch to run around in. There is also limited shade. A structure that was an Eagle Scout project and a handful of trees that are young but will mature and provide much more shade in the coming years. If we're in the area again we will definitely visit again.

I've read that they will be closing for good soon. Hopefully that changes somehow. We have started calling and emailing Cal Trans and our Yuba City officials about keeping this park open, as no City funded parks with fenced dog areas exist. There is a lot of places to sit and a lot of places for your dog to run around! It is right next to the Jacinto park, where you can also walk your dog (on a leash), have a picnic, or take your kids to the playground. The dog park regulars are really nice, I have had no issues with other dog owners. There is plenty of street parking!

I like that there is plenty of seating and there is some shade. There are signs that the park will no longer offer dog bags to put waste in and I think it's nice that people have brought extra bags and tied them to the fence in case someone stops in who doesn't have bags for whatever reason. It's sad that the local government doesn't want to maintain the park, but it's great to see the community step up. The park itself looks like a former waste area with a large drainage pipe in the middle, so it's not a very aesthetically pleasing park, but it gets the job done. There is a restroom in the park connected to the dog area, but it has never been unlocked when we have stopped here and states that the local government will only open it up for special events. If your dog needs to potty or stretch its legs, this is one of the few spots in the area you can stop at and the closest one to the freeway so it gets the job done but it also leaves a lot to be desired.
