Very long review. Sorry…read more I'm really bummed to be writing a bad review because we were so excited to try Aquaventure based on all the good reviews. We ended up renting a boat in August with about 7 or 8 of us. My boyfriend and I have never rented a boat before, so we have no knowledge on boat rentals. We read online that in NC that if you are under 25 years old, you have to get your boating license in order to drive a boat. We called to confirm this and a woman picked up. She said yes that is required. We later heard from some people from the area that it wasn't required, so we called again just to double-check. Again, she said a license is required. So my boyfriend paid $30 and spent about 6 hours getting an online boating license. When we arrived... my boyfriend showed the license and the guy (owner?) says "What's that? You don't need that" and when we told him about our phone encounters, he said to us "The employee you talked to was wrong....Women..... am I right?" (With a major eye roll) Excuse me? You're going to say that to a group of 5 girls and 3 guys? So rude. Anyway, we got on the boat and had a great time. The boat was super nice and the water was great that day. That's why they get the 2 stars. But we had more troubles when we brought back the boat. He said "You smoked a cigar on the boat? That is not allowed mi amigo" to my (Mexican) boyfriend. MAYBE you need to tell your customers the rules when we made it VERY clear we've never ever done this before. And also don't say that to a Spanish-speaking person... Or anyone. THEN he fills up the boat and tells us the cost of fuel when we were about to leave, which is funny because I asked multiple times if there would be any other charges besides the rental fee and they said no. Overall day, great boat, great lake, annoying & rude staff Again... sorry for the long review! I never write bad reviews so I was trying to be as detailed as possible.

As novice boaters, we felt very prepared to navigate the lake and engage in water sports due to the outstanding on the water training that we received. The variety of boats is perfect. We love to surf and the Malibus are top notch as far as making the best wave. The Cobalts are the ideal cruising boat and when we want to take our dogs along for a ride we love the Bennington tri-toons. The boats are new EVERY YEAR and they are kept in excellent condition throughout the season. The size of the club is perfect - everyone knows your name and makes sure that you have everything you need for a fun day on Lake Norman. From this ramp you can see the swell of a small mountain in the distance. In addition to the boat launch, there is a small path that goes to a small beach and beyond is a picnic area and covered shelter. There is also a playground area. I called Steve and easily made arrangements for the boat rack to list my boat for sale and handle the entire deal. Within days I am notified that my boat has been sold, the transaction went very well and I am hopeful that the buyer would say the same. Our trip on the water was amazing with one of their beautiful boats. They went through a quick instruction session with me (like 5mins) before letting us free on our own. The boat comes with a full tank of gas and they charge you the amount of gas that you used during your use once you get back. So glad we were able to get some fresh air and much needed sun. The staff is great friendly and some of the nicest folks ever. Originally we were just going to rent a Kayak for only an hour but we were recommended to do 90 minutes, Glad we did the 90 minutes. It was just the perfect amount of time to be on the lake take our time to paddle out at a leisurely pace without feeling too rushed or being out too long. Looking forward to coming back It's so nice being out on the water.
