Eduardo came to bid on my house and of course he gave me the best price out of everyone, I should have known he was going to cut corners to accomplish that. He estimated 3 weeks to finish the job and took 6 months. What I was left with at the end of the job was completely unprofessional and an utter waste of 50,000. It's so sad to see people who are not capable of the work taking on jobs they can't do and wasting peoples hard earned money. So much time and material wasted. Eduardo got back to me with a competitive quote to repair a crack in our granite. He arrived in a couple of days and did a great job. He also did a repair on another granite area at no additional charge . Unfortunately in a few days the epoxy settled and needed a redo. I called him to come back but there were a couple of setbacks but after about 2 weeks he returned. He did refill the cracks but unfortunately the colors did not match from the first time he came out. I hired Eddie with Cano Custom Tile because I had an extensive job with some challenges like a step down and repairs to individual tiles. Some installers I interviewed were not confident or didn't even know how to remove and replace tiles without damage to surrounding ones. Eddie is an expert. He did a wonderful job. Now you can't tell which tiles were replaced. My whole first floor is beautiful and the step down is both safe and beautiful. Anyone hiring an independent contractor should know going in that they need to constantly juggle priorities with multiple customers to keep food on the table. So you need to be patient and "over-communicate" with them. The only thing I think Eddie can improve upon is to be more realistic about schedule estimates, because something unexpected seems to always ch read more

We had a really terrible experience with Cano Custom Tile. I thought about not writing this review because our experience was so different than other people who have reviewed the business. I don't generally write bad reviews. But, I decided I want other property owners to know this information before deciding to contract with the business. We contracted Eduardo Cano after getting a reasonable estimate-- I had shared the dimensions of the room, and details of the specific tiles I had ordered (smaller dimension tile for bathroom floor and on walls around the shower). He also came out to see the bathroom in person (and to see the tile) before committing to the work. We scheduled the work several weeks in advance. So-- lot's of chances to back out of the job if it wasn't his specialty. We had to ask him to stop work about halfway through the job because of the bad work-- it honestly seemed as if he didn't have any experience working with smaller (4-5 inch) porcelain individual tiles. We also brought in a tile expert after we asked him to leave who gave us his professional estimate. Here are all the things wrong-- (1) did not level the hardibacker before installing it (and instead chose to use first thinset, then just a thick layer of cement to try to fix it), (2) said he could "easily" construct a niche instead of letting us buy one to install but clearly struggled with building it, (3) used the wrong type of trowel on the thinset for the size of tile, which caused the floor tiles not to adhere and just start popping off the floor only 2 days after installing, (4) didn't have professional tile cutting tools like a wetsaw to make clean cuts, (5) started the picket tile on the bottom of the wall without cutting the tiles to create a clean line across, (6) didn't measure to ensure that the tile lines at the edges and top of the wall would be clean ... I could go on but I won't. It just seemed really clear he didn't know how to actually do this job. We paid him for his time, even though we had to pull all the tile back out, and are going to have to demo the hardibacker and start from scratch. I just hope he is more realistic about what he is able to take on in the future. Photos attached. read more

So after discovering a leak in a 20 year old Grohe shower valve installation, we needed to undertake a big project. Part of this entailed redoing granite work because the old valve left a bigger hole in the granite than the new valve. We needed someone who knew how to remove old granite tiles and cut within the new granite to accommodate the new valve. I found Eduardo Cano through a list of Yelp results after searching for someone who could perform "Tile Repair". Ed responded almost immediately, and we began writing mobile texts to each other to gather more info on the project needed and he gave me a very reasonable quote within the hour. When I started receiving a number of quotes (some of them delayed by a few days) I was startled at how other quotes could be twice or more (someone bidded over 6 times Ed's quote) what Ed quoted. To me it was a no-brainer to arrange a time for Ed to visit our house and start work. After a few hiccups because of scheduling conflicts (I think Ed overcommitted with some projects), he showed up on a Wednesday afternoon, and what we expected to take three hours was completed in just a tad over an hour. He returned the next day in the morning to fill in some grout, which took a matter of minutes. He did not request any payments after completing the majority of the work the day before, and I feel that speaks to his integrity. read more

Eddie did an amazing job replacing four chipped and broken ceramic tiles on my kitchen countertop. Before I contacted Eddie, I talked to other tile companies who said I needed a whole new countertop because they couldn't replace the four broken tiles without damaging other tiles. The job was to repair some holes in my granite shower walls, polish and seal the MB shower stall only, and just seal the tub and vanity countertop. In addition, he was to clean and seal the kitchen granite countertop, guest vanity sink, laundry sink area, and my son's tile bathroom. Eduardo was unprofessional, inexperienced, dishonest, and had a poor work ethic. He took 12 days to finish his sloppy job. He came to work late, left early, and took long breaks every day when he was at my house. He skipped some areas to be sealed and caulked. The shower pan has holes in the finished grout and caulking. Granite sealing was terrible too. He also sprayed muriatic acid all over my son's bathroom and damaged some bathroom fixtures. He lied about the initial $800 we paid him that he purchased all the material but he didn't. My husband had to go to Home Depot and buy the material so he could finish the job. In the end, we paid him the balance and were so glad to get rid of him. We wanted the nightmare and the mess to end. We will be hiring another person to fix the job.
