After meeting with him and sharing with him the project of tiling my fireplace he gave me a very reasonable quote and agree to tile the fireplace. Everyone knows how difficult it is to find a good, honest contractor. The most important qualities I look for is communication and integrity. I was looking for somebody to install a kitchen backsplash; and while yelping and calling around, I've dealt with contractors that do not call me back for a long period of time; some that can quote the job without even coming by my home to see what the job will entail; and some who just ignore my requests for an estimate, since the job is "too small" and they only do full kitchen remodels. Duane Serna is very easy to reach on his phone via voice or text, and responds quickly and every time. When I contacted him for an estimate, he was able to come by my house the very next evening. He was on time, and gave a very good first impression upon meeting him. He took his measurements and told me that he would be available to start the very next day, and would give us a quote through email that same night. My family had another contractor scheduled to come by for an estimate later in the week, but we knew that if the estimate was fair and reasonable, we would hire Duane to do the job. Later that evening, the estimate was reasonable and within our budget, so we hired him. During the installation, Duane informed me that we would be short on tile because the tiles did not come in 12"x12" squares, and one of the boxes was the incorrect pattern of tile. (My fault, since I ordered the tile and did not check all the boxes) Duane informed us at the start of the job that he had a big job for another client after he finished ours later in the week, so I was disappointed that we would not be able to have our kitchen backsplash in time for the holidays. Also, I had to special order the tile, so I knew we would not be able to get the tile right away. Duane told me to order the tile, and that once the tile comes in, he will put his other job on hold for a few days so that he can complete the job! The company where I bought the tile realized their mistake and expedited the shipping, so we received the tile sooner than expected. He was able to complete the job (a day sooner than expected), and now we have a beautfiul, modern backsplash for our kitchen. My family is very happy to have found Duane Serna. We will be hiring him for our other tile projects in our home. He is a man of integrity, one that does what he says he is going to do. And he does an exceptional job. read more

I had Duane redo the master bathroom of my mother's house since it was done improperly by another contractor. He did a lot of demolition by himself and was able to rebuild 1 stand up shower and 1 tub shower. We also had him do the floors of the 2 other bathrooms, the kitchen, family room, and the fireplace. Wow,,,all I can say is Duane Serna Tile are great people I had a situation where unfortunately we had to get my elderly mother into an assisted living facility .Shes 95 years old .As a result ,me and my brothers have had to get her home remodeled and ready for sale or rent. If youve gone thru this ,it's major stress for everyone, New carpet,new paint,and remove all furniture and "stuff' accumulatiated for years In a word we needed a good tile man to replace 160 sq feet of floor tile in the kitchen A good tile setter is not easy to find After calling a few no shows ,I got a hold of Duane for an appointment and job walk. His was courteous ,helpful,pleasant and on time for our meeting. I liked the guy right away and reccomended him to my family Well,,,I goofed ,,,I promised Duane Id call him back with a yes or no,,,in a word I FORGET TO MAKE THE CALL and Duane being a competent tile setter with years of experience is busy and booked up weeks ahead of schedule. He kindly told me he could not do my job because I didnt notify him in time and would have to pursue jobs already scheduled. I sincerely apologized and told Duane ,,,"Im sorry ,I dropped the ball ,Im stressed out because of my Moms situation Thanks anyway,,,I would have loved for you to do job.
