On October 24 2023. I paid the $75 fee for an appointment with Canopy Solutions to assess my Douglas Fir which I had questions as to the sturdiness of the tree. Cole, the owner, showed up and seemed to be somewhat knowledgeable of this tree and in general of Trees. He agreed that my Douglas Fir was not in any danger of falling down anytime soon along with the 2 other certified Arborists who came out earlier and gave me their opinions at no charge. I asked Cole would he write up a simple report of the inspection he was doing and attach to it a few of the Tree Companies he was recommending to do the work he was suggesting i get done and he told me Sure No Problem. He would send it to me thru email After the inspection that day, I waited a week and did not receive anything from his company. I waited another 10 days before I sent him a friendly reminder that i was still waiting on the writeup of his inspection and STILL to my surprise I received no response and I thought Wow this guy seemed like a friendly professional person. Why no response? After a month I informed his company that if I didn't receive a response I would write a review and I wanted my money back. So this is where we are at now! Although Cole may seem professional and friendly at first. It appears as though he is somewhat CHOOSY as to who he follows through with. I am not sure why he chose not to send me this write up of his inspection but I would like my money back at this point . $75 maybe nothing to him but its groceries, gas, diapers for my 2 year old etc. I cannot recommend this company based on how they DID NOT HONOR what they promised and Also because of the way his team totally never responded to any of my messages thru their website , never attempting to resolve this matter. My daughter's family purchased a home that came with many evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs, some of which had become overgrown or were spindly and not doing well. The yard needed much pruning of some trees and removal of some others. Cole Stevens of Canopy Solutions came highly recommended to us by a neighbor. Cole and his crew have extensive experience and are thoroughly skilled in the care of trees. Their work brought the yard from a bit of a jungle to a open and very attractive space. The fruit trees were pruned for improved shape and productivity. Others were pruned to maximize their health and appearance. The crew was very efficient and left the yard cleared of all cuttings. We were very pleased with this company's work, their cost, their personable interaction us and of course their vast experience and skill. We had Cole and his crew out again this year for normal maintenance (i.e., thinning, trimming and shaping trees). They did another great job for us. We had six trees that needed work. They took a measured and careful approach to make sure the trees were thinned and trimmed properly. I always say that if it looks like a tree hasn't been given a haircut, then it's been done right! I've seen tree services in our neighborhood pull out chain saws first and top off the tops of trees without even considering the negative effects on a tree from that kind of approach--not with Cole and his crew. Each tree was masterfully trimmed and shaped. I can't say enough good things about Canopy Solutions. Cole and his crew are skilled, professional and respectful. We had a fir tree growing very close to the house and close to high voltage power lines on the other side. Over the years the tree and grown to over 60 feet. Cole arrived at our initial appointment punctually, provided a written estimate/contract and then waited patiently with me for the permit from the City of Seattle. When we had the permit, he and his crew arrived as scheduled and CAREFULLY took the tree down in small pieces without ANY subsequent damage and cleaned up thoroughly when the job was complete. I would recommend them highly and will use them myself for our next tree removal or trimming. read more

I'd just purchased a home in Renton which, inexplicably, had two palm trees in the front yard. So I contacted Canopy Solutions to get them removed, and also to brace a lovely lilac tree in the backward that was growing at a 45 degree angle. He quoted me a very reasonable price and stuck to it. Cole from Canopy solutions was very responsive. Had his crew over early in the day while I was at work, then Cole met me later in the afternoon to discuss everything that was done. The work was top-notch. Recently relocated from Denver, I'm not at all familiar with Pacific Northwest foliage. Cole took the time to walk all around my yard, answering my many questions, describing every plant to me and how to care for them. As a certified arborist, Cole's extremely knowledgeable, and I also appreciated his patience and kindness. If you are looking for a reasonable, fair, honest, professional tree trimming company who uses only ISA certified arborists, and who seems truly dedicated to preserving tree health and beauty, Canopy Solutions should be your choice. Their bid was about 1/3 less than another I got, the final cost was the same as the bid, all of the workers were professional, they allowed our neighbors to take the wood for their fireplace, and allowed other neighbors to take the wood chips for mulching. The cleanup job left our yard better than it started, and we are elated at the look of our house from the outside and at the amount of additional light inside. Cole, the owner, will be returning to plant a tree of our choice to replace the spruce we asked them to remove. We will never use any tree company but this one, and will be calling Cole regularly to maintain our trees. read more

I have used Cole and his crew to remove trees on our property on two occasions (about 12 trees total- many of them were at least 30-40'). Cole was very professional when coming out to give a quote then they showed up on time for the job, cleaned their mess and kept the wood in a single location, not spread all over the yard.
