Too funny but I figured it out. Another strange thing is the breakfast buffet. It's amazing and many choices for a true English breakfast. So fulfilling. BUT every day is the exact same breakfast. Never changes. I was there a week and the food never changed. It's a nice hotel and I would recommend it

The 200 room hotel is has an AA 2 rosette restaurant, a night club called Après. Downstairs there is the usual hotel bar, an Austrian 'Bier Keller' and a Health Club downstairs with an air-conditioned gym, sauna, steam room, sun beds, spa bath and two swimming pools. There are some nice design touches, like a triangle of three large fish tanks on each of the bedroom floors near the lifts which form a Toblerone-shaped light-pipe going into the reception area. The rooms have a lot of pale wood, adding to the Chalet-style décor. The breakfast buffet is extensive, and the toast arrived quickly and wasn't burnt. I didn't try the main restaurant for an evening meal, but a colleague described as fancy and overpriced, and that is how the menu looked to me. The car park circles the hotel, so there is plenty of it, but it still gets busy; there are very visible security staff walking around the car park. Overall I enjoyed the stay, but I don't think it is as good as it could be, not sure why!

We only encountered one member of staff and she was polite and friendly. Although did ignore us somewhat and her duties at breakfast (no juice, no menu etc...). But she was pleasant.

Mostly because it is a convenient pitstop with its…read moreown large car park, and is usually nearly empty, which means I can get a fairly grown up and decent meal without my nearly-two-year-old disturbing too many people. The decor of the place is a little dated, owing more to the 90s than this century, although they have recently replaced all the nasty green chairs with leather and suede in browns and beiges. Foodwise, I pretty much always order the burger and a couple of side dishes for me and my son to share. The burger itself is small, often on a plain white bun, though it is usually very nicely cooked, and topped with decent relish and very tasty cheese. The accompanying salad is basic to the point of disappointing -just a big pile of chopped iceberg, sliced cucumber and tomato. The potato wedges are usually pretty tasty. Garlic bread is in sliced baguette form and you can get it topped with the same tasty cheddar that is on the burgers. What lets it all down is that it is all bizarrely served on cold plates! The greeting here is usually very friendly, particularly from the foreign waitress who seems to be the regular server on Saturdays. However, their opening hours for food at the weekend are rather restricted - currently just two hours on a Saturday lunchtime - and if you catch them a touch early you'd think the place was closed (even though the bar currently doubles as the hotel reception), and you'll need to wander around looking for a member of staff. One interesting thing about this place is, as the name suggests, its nod to local artists. There are always different pictures and artwork on the walls and in the cabinets when I visit, all for sale. Nearly every time I've been lately, they have talked of being under new management and talk of a new menu. Some changes have certainly happened, such as the new furniture, but the menu has been static since I first started going nearly two years ago. All in all, it's nice enough to keep me going back, and reasonable value for money. But I can't help thinking it could do better. This place could be a little gem. They seem to be trying... Just not hard enough.

There is something very wrong with the air conditioning system at this hotel. The first room I…read morewalked into, I was hit by blazing heat and immediately called the front desk and had to change rooms because the meter was not working (room 411). The room should not even be in service for gas. Secondly, I was moved to room 509 which did not have the stifling heat factor, but the air conditioning still was not satisfactory. As a result, they had to bring me a fan. Needless to say, my sleep was interrupted throughout the nights due to the Warren of the room. The manager was very kind and provided me with one complementary cocktail at the bar for the inconvenience. In addition, when housekeeping came to clean my room, they were removed the wash face cloths and did not replace them. I called down to the front desk to see if someone could bring me a couple up, and the employee told me that I could either come downstairs and get them or that housekeeping would be open again in the morning. I told him that I was undressed and could not come down. He then brought up two hand towels, and when I told him that I needed face cloths, he told me that was all they had. Needless to say, I had to take a shower with a massive hand towel. The next day, upon returning to my room, housekeeping had not left face cloths again. I had to go downstairs and get them. I don't know what the issue is at this hotel with that. Nonetheless, there is a mini refrigerator in the rooms, my new room was 509, but they do not keep items cool at all. Therefore, if you go and get ice from the bar area. (says there are no icemakers on any floors in this hotel), there is no way to keep it frozen. Also, their elevators are extremely small and narrow, and don't work all the time. If you have more than three people or two people with luggage, that is all that will fit in them, and they are very slow and only work some of the times. Furthermore, I requested a late check out and was told that noon was the latest they could do without charging me an additional fee. I would've thought that given everything that went wrong with my stay, they would've accommodated my 1pm check-out request, but they did not. On a positive note, the hotel is in a great location and there is tons to do in the area. My colleague parked car. They are so be aware that there is no in and out privileges. Once you park, your car must remain parked, or you will be charged again. This doesn't make very much sense to me. I believe there are other parking structures in the area that are cheaper and more flexible so you might want to check. Needless to say, when I return to my office in the area, I will definitely plan to stay elsewhere. I need to sleep comfortably, have a cool room, and expect great customer service.

If you ever stay in this hotel and want a really special treat I would recommend booking a RIver view suite. Each suite is named after luxury champagne and the river view suites are called Comtes de Champagne, Laurent Perrier and Ruinart . These are duplex rooms with King size beds with Egyptian cotton. Each having stunning open plan bathrooms and lounge area upstairs with French doors leading onto a heated balcony and outdoor bath with breathtaking views of the River Thames and Regatta lawns. The bathroom has another flat screen television and each bathroom has a open rolltop bath enough to share for two people and a monsoon walk in shower which there is ampul of complimentary toiletries. There is a double sink and a large mirror as well as a very large L shaped leather sofa. The amazing view outside can also be enjoyed in another roll top bath outside which is allows you privacy from other rooms or buildings but also you can enjoy the beauty of the stars in the sky at night! I go here every year and try to stay more than one night! It's a luxury treat but a very romantic weekend!
