They are pretty much all sad just by the nature of what they are and who is housed there. When one does go to visit, one looks for things like cleanliness and what not, but mostly to see that those living in the facility are being treated with the dignity and respect due to a human being who has weathered the storm of Life long enough to find themselves at a resting point where this rest is only possible with the assistance of others. I found this place to be a place where this dignity and kindness it quite present. Granted it was my first time here, I noticed what I tend to see lacking in many other homes of this nature and that is respect. I will admit that it does look slightly dated, but not enough to raise a fuss over, and given the age of most of the patients there, it probably looks relatively modern lol. Understand that it takes a special type of person to work in these places.. The clients here (and in many other facilities across the nation) are fragile, hanging by a thread and off times not still in possession of the same energy or mind that propelled them this far into their existence which often leads to some very dramatic and potentially chaotic situations. I was amazed by the staff here. I am 40 and never stopped to notice the finesse and professionalism that it takes for the nurses and caretakers to do who they do, what many of us wish we provide but usually cannot for a multitude of reasons namely lack of training and logistics. I am very grateful to know that my relative is in the hands of good people who want to help. At one point before we left, my relative was in need of being moved and another orderly was needed. No one could be found and I asked one of the young men there who had already clocked out and finished with his work, backpack on and heading out the door if he could assist and he didn't bat an eyelash as he set his pack down and helped and assisted... for the next 45min. That moved me. He didn't have to help. He could've pointed at the desk and said "they can help you", but he didn't, and that speaks more than I can put into words.

Courtnay Staab is the worst doc ever! I have been in horrible pain for almost a month because she…read moredidn't do her job. I went to her cause I was having pain and she looked at me but didn't even swab me after I asked her to 3 times..she said she didn't need to swab me and that I was just dry and gave me estrogen cream. The pain was worse than labor! I knew it was not why I was in pain..the next day I called her and she told me to go to the urgent care. I went there and they asked me why my gyno sent me there. that she was supposed to swab me!!! That night I was in excruciating pain and had to go to the ER! They did a swab and said I had Candida Glabrata!!! they gave me cream but it didn't work so after 4 more ER visits my PCP finally did more tests and found out it was Candida and now I have to use boric acid for 2 weeks..im sooo livid..the pain has now spread to my legs and sides all because Courtnay didn't do her job! Stay away from her!!! its been a month of hell..she needs to be fired!!!! Its insane that I had to take a ambulance to the ER cause she didn't listen to me and do her job!!!!! Thats medical malpractice!!!!

First & foremost, my ManBaby's Total Thyroidectomy was an unexpected longer than normal procedure,…read moreyet a success, praise God! No matter the type of surgery, I'm sure everyone exudes some sort of anxiety. When we arrived this morning, every aspect of the atmosphere & staff negated that anxiety. The center is immaculate as if its still in grand opening mode, the center has been open for 4 years. The simplicity of the space, decor & welcoming staff was bar none. We checked in with Robyn, the Patient Care Representative who offered us her friendly face & spirit while providing the basic pre-surgery game plan. After a brief wait we were taken back to the pre-op area. Theresa, the fantastic & fabulous Nurse, chatted with me & my ManBaby like we've known each other for years. She provided amazing bedside care while going through her proper identification, triage & prep procedures. Theresa, truly made both of us relaxed & ready for surgery...ok, made me relaxed & ready. Dr. Kevin Haim, the Anesthesiologist entered with his laid back & engaging demeanor. He handled his pre-screening duties & my ManBaby was on his way to the surgical area. I was escorted to the Surgical Waiting Lounge, that was peaceful & comfortable. They offer complimentary tea, coffee, water, sodas & snacks. A vivid flatscreen that I tuned to ESPN to keep me company while staying cool, calm & collected. Lisa Greyard, R.N., another rockstar on the Nurse Squad, who also serves as the Nurse Manager, greeted me & asked if I need anything...I had a Ginger Ale to go with my complimentary pretzels. By a blessing of chance, I saw Dr. Shatul Parikh on his way to the surgerical area. He was kind enough to stop in a moment to introduce himself & assure me that my ManBaby was in good hands. Trust & believe, I already prayed over his surgical hands before we met. About an hour into the surgery, Theresa came out to update me that the surgery was taking longer than normal, which I appreciated. A few minutes later Dr. Parikh came out to let me know why of the same & that my ManBaby was having breathing complications due to the enormous size of his Thyroid. Before I could elevate my concerns, Dr. Parikh explained everything in lament terms, assured me his team was in place if anything escalated & that he will do whatever necessary to make sure my ManBaby comes out on top. & before he walked out, he shook my hand & told me all would be well. Another 45 minutes & my ManBaby's surgery was completed. He was taken to post op, where I was able to lay my eyes on him. Skye, yet another VIP of the Nursing Team was on deck taking exceptional care of him in recovery mode. At 1st, I was a little ruffled about the 1 hour drive from my ManBaby's place to get here, as his PCP is only 10 minutes away. However, after my experience as a patient's Mother in addition to my previous due diligence, I am very THANKFUL & HAPPY that we came to Northwest ENT Surgery Center. We had to return the next day to have the drain removed from the side of my ManBaby's neck, & experienced the same esteemed & professional patient care we were bestowed upon yesterday. & Donna, the Surgical Nurse who was in his surgery, came out to meet me & genuinley offered her concern on his recovery thus far. Dr. Parikh stepped out of his upcoming surgery to give my ManBaby another look over & we were on our way. Thanks to the superb Skye, she was able to get his follow up appointment to another office closer to his place...outstanding service. Side medical tidbit: most Thyroids are 'normal' size of a plum or apple. My ManBaby's Thyroid were sizes of a Mango on each side of his throat...hence the 2.5 hour surgery. An unlimited & unshaken amount of humble & grateful THANK YOU's to Team Northwest ENT Surgical Center for providing us with exceptional medical care & a PHENOMENAL PATIENT CARE EXPERIENCE & making my ManBaby better than before. I'm able to breathe out of my nose for the first time in over 30 years and most of my snoring is gone. I'd give both doctors and nurses 5 stars. The biggest issue is the billing department. I prepaid surgery, and received a bill 7 days after surgery. They send you messages constantly like a debt collector until it's paid . Here is the irony. The billing department actually owes me money. They've owed me for three months. I've called, spoken to 3 people. Yet a check was never sent to me and I'm still owed money. I've never received it. The other issue is calling the phone line is like calling the IRS. 10 prompts through the IVR. Sometimes you get someone, other times you get a VM. It's very frustrating. Aside from the difficultly reaching folks there , the fact I was spammed with bills, when they owed me and still haven't paid me. It was a good experience.

After just over two…read moreweeks, Rick has become more accustomed to Evergreen, and your excellent staff, Tricia, has played important roles in helping both him and me through this challenging time. Shylonda - welcomed me and my questions early in her tenure with ATC. You get a definite feeling of warmth and receptivity with Shylonda. She seems eager to help individual family member of the residents in her care. Vanessa - spent time with me explaining how the two outstanding bills will be posted. She was easy to talk with and made clear what I can expect. Weekend staff - Toni as well as the person designated to help Rick that day, and the Sunday wellness staff person were helpful, showing what truly seems a calling for this kind of work. When I left, another staff member (male) went over to talk with Rick, making it easier for me to leave. Dwana - We had a nice talk on Sunday about life in Evergreen in general. It was she who suggested that I notify Shylonda of some housekeeping needs for Rick. I don't know if she, and your other staff, have a real idea how important, how comforting such short talks can be to new family members. It truly matters. Toni - I spent most of my staff time with Toni on Sunday. She could tell I was distressed over the evangelical nature of the activity taking up the full common area (not the learning room closer to the patio), as well as the lack of anywhere else for Rick to be for the approximately 90 minutes they were there. I know she will be reaching out to Stephanie, and I am grateful to her for rescuing Rick and me. When I entered Evergreen in the midst of singing and preaching, Rick said, "You rescued me!" Toni understands that we are not Christian, and she took us out to the patio and encouraged Rick to sing some of our Unitarian Universalist hymns. As you know, memory and music are a pretty amazing pair. I deeply appreciate both the initiative she took, and what, I'm sure, will be her follow up with Stephanie. You and I and your staff will continue to communicate often as Rick continues to adjust to Memory Care. I wanted you to know, after some of the bumps that you've worked out for me, how grateful I am. My mother recently moved from an independent living community to Arbor Terrace Crabapple, based on…read morethe recommendations of several of her peers, her pastor, and my visit to Arbor Terrace. The prep and paperwork went very smoothly and efficiently, so she could move in on about two weeks notice. Also, the staff worked closely with her doctor to make sure all the medical forms were completed in a timely manner. And in the brief time my mom has been there, I am overwhelmed with how wonderful and caring the staff is, and how communicative they are - having a very comprehensive orientation meeting where I get to meet all of the staff leadership, and several of the staff initiating calls and texts to let me know how things are going (I live 3000 miles away in California). It gives me incredible peace of mind knowing my mom is in good hands and actually enjoying her days at Arbor Terrace!

We, as the family, have always been regarded as important. Suzanne is amazing and has always addressed any concern we have promptly and with my grandfathers needs as the priority. We know he's safe here and he's happier than he has been in years! Yes, older people can sometimes be a challenge, but they handle him with care and do what they can to make him feel like this is his home. I think the other reviewer on here may not be cut out for this line of work. I also noticed she's never reviewed anything in a positive light. 2 stars max. Don't let her review stop you from checking out Benton House. I cannot tell you how pleased we are with this place!

We brought my mom to live here after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. She did not come willingly…read morebecause she didn't understand her illness and was a handful when she arrived. Suzanne and Chuck went out of their way to make the adjustment as smooth as possible. After a few short weeks, she loved it there. All the workers were extremely kind to her. We had a few minor hiccups with her medications, but that is to be excepted and they were quick to fix the problems. Eventually my mom was placed in their memory care and I was happy with the care she was given. They helped get my mom on hospice and kept me aware of the hospice staff and how they were doing. The biggest gratefulness I have towards Benton House is when my mom fell and fractured her back. We thought for sure she would have to be placed in a nursing home. They were wonderful to accept her back and told me this was her home. She died a few weeks later, but happy and grateful that she was able to live her final days in a place she eventually fell in love with.
