They even took him early. The X-ray took no time at all. We got to meet PA Mike who was very personable. And a couple interns shadowing. Plus Dr Lovy (yes with an o) who had been recommended by our GP. A fast solution -- a shot of cortisone -- which we hope works for a long time and we were on our way. Easy Peasy. He told me it was what he did everyday, I would be out of pain and back to working as a dental assistant within a few months. Long story short, I was in more pain after the fusion at L5/S1. Post-Op pain was more than I ever experienced. This was with taking 2 - 10/375 mg Oxycodone, every 4 hrs, and time release Oxycotin every 12 hours. Less than a week after surgery, I felt a POP in my leg, I couldn't walk, there was a huge hard lump on the side of my hip, and the sharp, burning pain had me screaming! Dr. S. told me that my IT BAND POPPED, and he expected that to happen. I requested my records... I was told, what records? FF 3 years, after the screws placed had all broken, and my Coxic bone was vertically cracked. I went to Spine Instatute at Emory University and had an appointment scheduled at Stanford Univ. After looking at Pr-Op MRI, the surgeon at Empory told me the HE would never had done surgery on me from the beginning, nor did he feel comfortable fixing this mess. I finally found a well known Surgeon at Miami University. He operated from the back to clean up and replace the hardware. Then went through my abdomen, taking out my guts, to fuse from the front of the spine. Yes, the hardware was fixed, but the nerve damage was done and the pain has never gone away. My Neurologist took over my monthly pain management, still today in 2026.

At my first surgical consultation, Dr…read more Gelb clearly stated that I needed knee surgery for a complex medial meniscus tear shown on my MRI. However, because of a burn injury on my knee, he advised that I complete physical therapy first and return once the skin had healed. When I returned for follow-up -- just a few weeks later and still in significant pain -- he abruptly told me that my knee was "fine" and completely dismissed my symptoms. The new note omitted all mention of the meniscus tear and the prior surgical plan, even though the second MRI (done within six weeks) showed the same tear and bone edema. Since that visit, I have seen multiple orthopedic surgeons, all of whom confirmed that surgery is needed. I left Dr. Gelb's office feeling dismissed, unheard, and deeply frustrated by the lack of honesty and continuity in my care. Patients deserve to have their pain and imaging findings acknowledged and documented accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen in my experience with this provider.

It is hard getting in to see the same therapist the next time because of the many patients being sent from the the doctor's office next door, and the little space in the facility. The secretary, Holly, takes up to two days to return a phone call, and that's if she actually returns the call, which she normally does not. She also does not know what is going on with the billing. Any other PT office would be out of business if it ran this way. The only reason this place survives is because they are literally fed patients from the doctor's office next door.

I came to Dr. Rosen in a very bad way - completely devoid of any energy, excessive somnolence, an inability to focus/concentrate, in continual joint pain. He charged far too much for an initial consultation, however, I thought, 'okay, at least he'll have potential diagnosis(es) or a solid plan forward'. Nope. He failed to provide any specific plan for me, simply scribbling on a white board about how my adrenals were likely fatigued. Zero insight into a tailored plan for my specific needs; no real plan forward at all. He simply wanted me to agree to one of a few generic treatment options that ranged up into the tens of thousands of dollars. He only reinforced my skepticism of this 'science'. He was nice enough, though I suppose it's easy for one to be nice when trying to get a lot of money out of you, again with zero specifics or any real plan in place. He could be a fine chiropractor but when it comes to actual medicine, it seems as though he is purely a salesman of supplements, expensive lab tests, and lifestyle recommendations. Oh, and then the only follow-up I received from him or his team was constant spam from a mailing list they placed me on without my knowledge/consent. My takeaway from this experience? - this practice offers costly, scientifically unproven alternative/"functional" medicine at best and, at worst, it's a calculated effort to exploit vulnerable people for lucrative financial gain.
