Food was good, drinks were super strong service was ok and music was loud. We dined in on a Friday night but it was empty when we got there. We didn't stay long as we were both tired we ate and left.

    Pork chops, grits, scrambled eggs.

The grits were good, but just a little bit too salty. I didn't appreciate the pork chops being that small, but not going to lie it was good af. Definitely get the sauce on the side because it's a no for me. Sorry, not sorry! The eggs were regular-degular. The steak was really good and everyone else in the party definitely enjoyed the food and the experience. No real complaints on the service or the ambiance, but maybe a little dusting and making sure things look a little up-to-par.

Tbh the food was alright. They got good Mac and cheese. The service ngl was bad. They ain't really check in with us and also charged me some random fee that they stated once you spend over 100$ you get some automatic fee? Which sounds like some bull. The ambiance was alright. Had a couple shots and drinks. Hookah and whatever food in the pictures.

We came here for brunch on a Saturday, and we had a good time. The wait wasn't long. Customer service: Phenomenal. Our waitress was so attentive and amicable. She was very good at making recommendations, checking in with us, and keeping up with refills. Food: My meal was a 10/10. I got the Steak N Eggs. My steak was cooked to my liking and well seasoned. The scrambled eggs were creamy and delicious, and the potatoes were seasoned well. Drink: I got the "pull out," and it was so good. Very strong but good. One drink was more than enough. Atmosphere: They had excellent music playing, and the vibes were incredible. The music wasn't too loud where you couldn't talk. It only got loud when they came out with signs for people's birthdays and celebrations. I will definitely come back. I had an amazing time.

Fun venue on Granby Street. Pretty empty when we arrived but staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. First off drinks were fabulous ( try a white tea shot). Truffle fries also delicious as were the lamb chops. Curry chicken also nice size and great flavor profile. My only feedback would to be to fix the menu as there were a lot of spelling errors and strange pictures next to items that weren't being advertised on that page. Also as it was 5:30 on a Thursday night and children also in the restaurant to be careful what music videos being shown on the TV. Would love to come back and try breakfast.

The ambiance was artistic and "instagrammable" for sure with great wall art and decor. Great spot for a brunch with small group of friends. Absolutely loved their chicken and waffles, salty but it was totally up my alley. Mimosas were just OK. Service was great.

Quesadilla omelette with sausage and cheese also with cheese grits on the side this was so good

This place is so amazing. The service and the food is totally amazing. I love canvas social cuisine.

The place itself was cute but the service/ food does not match with the prices. I ordered the Cinnabon French toast that was supposed to be topped with berries and it had one half of a single strawberry. When I asked for the berries I was brought a tiny plastic cup of blueberries. Portions were small for the price. Didn't have silverware and when asked for it, got plastic ware. Ordered a mimosa flight but they ran out of glasses?? As a brunch place you would expect more. Maybe having more staff could help but definitely not what expected. Our waitress was apologetic but some of the other staff was rude.

I would say Canvas Social (Hampton) is hit or miss, the difference comes down to preparedness for rushes at popular dining times. Strategic schedule planning would help this location a lot. They did recently open, so there may be more hires to come. I visited twice, once on a Sunday for Brunch and the other on a Wednesday for Dinner. We had a nearly hour and a half wait (we went shopping) and came back to a ready table. After placing our orders, it was about an hour before we received our meal, in the mean time they do have hookah and a full bar if interested, and this restaurant does not take reservations. On Wednesday evenings, they have a live R&B singer which was a welcomed surprise. The vibe was cool. The restaurant was pretty vacant, around 6 pm and started to pick up around 8. The food tasted better and came out much faster on this day. The server was also very attentive and accommodating. My ratings are below: Canvas Cali omelette: 6.5/10, omelette was slightly overcooked, potatoes from bag Salmon: 8/10 Wings: 8.5/10, but the sauce should have been the same temp as the chicken Lobster Mac and Cheese: 9/10 - lobster was very well seasoned (batter tasted like fried chicken) Mac needed to be more cheesy French toast: awful 2/10 - bread was thin, hard, and cold

Shrimp and grits, came w/5 I ate a few before taking the pic.

I thought by the menu the food would be better. The plus, didn't have to wait to be seated, our server was great, and the food didn't take long to come out. The shrimp and grits had a plate full of grits with 5 shrimp. The flavor was good but noted to add additional protein like my spouse did and got the fried catfish. The mini chicken and waffles were great. From the other reviews it wasn't as bad but I'm in no rush to return either. But I wasn't disappointed and think it should be given a try.

I had the chicken n waffles from canvas as a takeout order. The waffle was ok, but the chicken was dry. I don't think I'd order the chicken again. But I'd try other things on the menu.

Came for brunch on Saturdays around 1:00pm and there was plenty availability which shocked me. Service was good and food even better! I ordered the Fried lobster tail with red velvet waffles, scrambled eggs and potatoes. Very good! Had a grande mimosa which I didn't enjoy (I think the flavors I chose weren't a good mix) also had a lemon drop and that was great! Hookah was good but they only had two flavors. Will definitely go again to try more items on the menu. The vibe was cool as there was a few birthdays being celebrated. Great music and atmosphere. Gave 4 stars bc the table was wobbly at two places we sat.

My husband doesn't eat pork so he ended up only eating the beef. The cashier said the order would only take about ten minutes so I enjoyed a quick drink at the bar while waiting. A couple specific food problems were: 1) Friend green tomatoes. Given the presentation, we asked our server if they were fried pickles. Nope! Okay, that's fine. At first. Thought they were just super hot and need a minute to cool down. But they were drenched in oil from the fryer. At first I tried dabbing them in the basket. Then, realizing that was doing no good and the breading was just going to be soggy, I took them out and blotted them on the brown paper table cover. We only at a few. Not good. 2) The meat - pulled pork, brisket, and Alaskan haddock - were all lacking flavor.

A staff told us that wait time came reach to 50 mins due to walk ins and online orders and all food is cooked to order with 2 chefs. When we got to host stand to order, I was told that Grits and waffle cut off at 4pm daily... this upset me because I had looked at menu prior to coming and that's what I really wanted. Im visiting from out of state, so it's not easy to come back. I ordered at 4:17pm. We were seated after ordering. The process is interesting. Around 4:23pm, I saw another table get chicken and waffles and it just irritated me because that's what I wanted. Plus, I was very VERY hungry at this time. I've been to Sweet Jam a time or three and each time was just as perfect as the first time. After several visits, I would have to say that my two favorite dishes are their Chicken and Waffles and their ridiculously creamy and delicious Shrimp and Grits. Today is the 2'nd Friday during Lent, so for me that means no red meat. With that being said, if you are looking for a dangerously delicious red meat free dish I would recommend Sweet Jam Cafe's Shrimp and Grits. Let's start with the Chicken and Waffles- the chicken and waffles is a plate of one waffle that is cut into quarters and plated with three full size wings. The waffle is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I think their might be a hint of vanilla in the batter and I love it. The chicken, oh my gosh, sooooooo good. The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. If they sold just that flavorful chicken skin, I would buy a whole bucket of it. So good. The Shrimp and Grits are...... All I can say about the Shrimp and Grits is to go to Sweet Jam and order a bowl. It is so creamy, the grits are cooked perfectly and the shrimp.... Oh the shrimp. Do your mouth a favor and try this dish. You will not be disappointed.

The music level was close to perfect and the music selection felt very inclusive and yet still felt the representation. This was literally a random stop because our first choice was closed so I was totally not dressed to fit in so I am thankful no one made me feel out of place. The waitress was so nice and friendly. Really everyone was friendly. I even loved when we left the chefs were telling us "thank you" and "have a nice night." The food, OMG!!! Hands down THE best food spot I've had for dinner in Norfolk. This place even beats out the BC. We started with the pork bites and baaby before I knew it, it was devoured (10/10). The way the huge piece of pork loin was tender, juicy, and flavorful should be studied (10/10). The sweet potato purée and southern veggies paired wonderfully. The chicken?! Juicy!!! (8/10). I don't even care for creamed corn but here was next level. What I also don't care for is bread pudding, but OMG the complimentary dessert sent me over the moon. I wanted more (12/10). 350 Grace was absolutely bussin and a true culinary experience. I can't wait to return in more appropriate clothing. You would think this would earn the restaurant points, but it just further added to the dissatisfaction. How can a restaurant with such good food be so unpleasant to be in? From the moment I stepped in and interacted with the curt hostess everything was so tense and stressful. Unfortunately the last two reviews of this restaurant completely match my experience tonight. We were rushed and pressured to place orders quickly or lose our right to eat there. I will admit that not all of my party was present on time. But I (the one who made the reservation) and another guest arrived right on time to claim our table. This establishment's policies around ordering are so strict and rigid that it's impossible to relax and enjoy yourself. Life happens, people show up late and things don't always go to plan. The inability for the staff to adapt and accommodate leaves the guests feeling as if their presence is a burden. No one goes to a sit down restaurant to simply get their food and leave. Fine dining is also about the experience. I specifically sought out a Black-owned restaurant to patronize in recognition of Black History Month. To be made to feel so unwelcome after being so intentional about being in that restaurant was the worst part of the whole thing. 350 Grace, do better. You've got the food down. Get the experience down, as well. If managing a busy dining room of patrons is too difficult, might I suggest converting to a drive-through?

The decor is nice resembling a type of restaurant you may see in New Orleans. Right when I was looking through the menu, I ran into Chef Moe who greeted me with a handshake. It has been years since we last saw each other but the vibes came right back since Sophia and I were long-standing customers. We couldn't talk long since he was busy, but it was great to run into him again smiling from ear to ear seeing me there. Great people indeed. How was the food you might ask? Pretty damn good. We both ordered their fried catfish meals with sides (mine came with fries and sweet cornbread and Sophia's with mashed potatoes and gravy and mac-and-cheese). The fish was seasoned perfectly and was huge. It was big enough to cover a football field (just kidding). The fries, as always, tasted great and the cornbread was delish. The both of us ended up taking home leftovers where the food didn't lose any taste from before. It was so refreshing to stop by after so many years. And it was wonderful seeing Chef Moe continue to bring good vibes to the Norfolk community through his cooking. You know we'll be back soon. Till next time :)
