I have been coming to Rockport Marine for a few years for parts for my boats and older motors. When it came time to re-power and I talked to local guides and others, the universal answer was "to go to Rockport Marine." Re-Power estimate was spot on with invoice even though they missed a couple items needed and even replaced an item they said they damaged, even though it was minor and only cosmetic and likely a result of the age of the item, not technician malfeasance or carelessness. Jeff insisted they replace it on their dime against my objection to do so as I didn't feel it warranted. Now, there were a couple of minor issues upon delivery which when found they owned and promptly corrected. A man 's or business's ability to own up to their mistakes speaks to character. Support after the sale has been epic as well, thus far and I expect in the future. The owners of the business are on site every day they are opened and will step in to take care of you if they need to, another quality not found at larger big box type places. Like one local fishing guide told me, I will tell you. Go to Rockport Marine and go nowhere else. If they don't have what you need, wait for it and let them get it. The marginal amount more you might pay is worth the level of service and support the provide.

The new steering wheel installed by Rockport Marine as a freebie add on was getting loose and wiggly (that's a technical nautical term lol ) . For other reasons I decided to upgrade it to a smaller wheel to improve clearance between the helm and the seat. When the new one came in they assisted in what should have been a simple install that turned into a bit more. Upon inspection of the old wheel it was discovered the quality of the welds on it were sub par. Now I didn't ask for this, the owner told the cashier at ring up to only charge me the dealerships cost for the new wheel not retail price. This after a free assist in install. He said he was disappointed in the quality of the original wheel from a reputable manufacturer and the inconvenience it caused. This is service long after the sale. This is how you build lifelong relationships and customers that feel like family.

Terry, the owner, quoted me, "600 or 700 hundred dollars", and seemed irritated that he had to give me a ballpark idea of cost. I'm sorry I guess but if you don't ask for an approximate cost, things could get really ugly. I gave him the go ahead understanding that it would be 600 or 700 hundred dollars as he quoted. I understand that it might be as high as 800 and pretty much counted on that because surely if it was anything higher I would get a phone call for approval. I know this from owning and operating an outdoor power equipment dealership and service facility for a number of years. Well I just got a phone call from Terry at Seaworthy letting me know my boat was ready and that the tab was 1200 dollars.... not quite the 600 or 700 he quoted, double that. No phone call, just a 1200 dollar bill. He also seemed really upset and defensive when I had the nerve to ask him why the bill was double the quote. Maybe he's having some personal issues and I'm just catching him at a bad time but his response was disproportionate to my simple question. I guess what was disappointing to me is that I've always liked Seaworthy and now I just don't feel like I'd ever do business with them again. In short, take any ballpark estimate from him as just that, a BALLPARK estimate. May not even be the same ballpark, lol! Oh well...

Thank GOD I called Discount Auto Parts and spoke with Seth who went above and beyond by calling their other location to make sure Conner had the starter for my car. I thank GOD for these wonderful little angels that we ran into (Alie & her sister) Alie's starter had went out on her car the night before so she was there at the exact time (GODs timing) taking her starter off and was able to take off our old starter and put the new starter on so we finally got the car up and go on about 4 PM after spending the entire Labor Day Saturday broke down out of town miles and miles and miles away from our home in Dallas. We had asked to learn as much about sailing as we could, so we got to work crewing the boat, hoisting sails, tying knots, manning the rudder, and learning what "lower the boom" means. Under supervision, my son and I sailed all the way back, keeping the sails trimmed and the heading aligned with our waypoints. Great fun. It was wonderful to be out in the quiet where the only sounds are the hull slicing through the waves and the sheets in the wind. Saw lots of dolphins, too. The Captain is a character, friendly as all get out, and happy to explain anything that you might be curious about. He's passionate about conservation and the environment, and he knows the history of boating and the bay. He may try talking you into getting a handsome sailor Polynesian tattoo, but but who knows - maybe you might want one.

Captain Thomas was delightful and did a great job making sure we saw plenty of wildlife. We cruised close to a rookery and a large flock of roseate spoonbills took flight. It was a truly awe inspiring sight. I've seen other reviews complaining about the boat but I didn't book this sailing trip to pussyfoot around in a yacht. We all got to help with boat a little bit and we got fantastic photos. It was a super fun and relaxing excursion.

What an absolute nightmare! Consign your RV elsewhere. They can't seem to keep staff around. Dealt with 3 different employees over a 6 month period as the current staff member had "moved on". Phone calls never returned and the attitude that you are served is just wonderful! I swear I thought my RV had been stolen after being on consignment for 7 months and never receiving a straight answer from anyone. At one point, a former employee contacted me and stated that I needed to make an insurance claim on my RV as it had arrived at the Mathis location with roof damage. After a several day fiasco, it was determined that the damage was "supposedly" on another RV with an owner of the same name. Imagine how annoyed my insurance company was? At another point, when I was going to move the RV, several different employees almost begged me to keep it there on consignment, swearing it would be sold soon. Sure, for way less after they had it listed well over 10K above book. Ridiculous. And be wary of the manager Chris, who plays good cop and pretends to be sympathetic to your frustration. I have waited over a month and still have not received a bill of sale. This is on top of taking a reduced amount on a very popular model of RV that should have sold quickly. You will be better off listing your RV yourself. I should have went with their competitor in Rockport. FYI - the RV was originally purchased at Howdy. I have also bought and sold several personal RV's and boats over the last 20 years. The way this staff behaves at this business is incredible and I can't for the life of me understand how they are still in business. The high reviews are VERY suspect.

Kris is friendly & cool. I hear their Service dept is the best around btw. Luckily I've had no issues so far. But if so, that's where I'd go. Thinking about a utility trailer next since I didn't buy a toy hauler.
