There was no change and I now have an unfinished job that I have to pay another company to do correctly. Please do not make the same mistake I did. Young, inexperienced and unsupervised.They sent young kids to do the job.

Well, the accent line must not have been primed correctly as it has already shown through the black with only about 30 miles of cruising and one bottom cleaning. We had also wanted an outside rail reattached in a couple of spots. We were told that they would have to take the inside salon walls off to complete that - needless to say we declined it and fixed it ourselves when we got back to home port with some heavy duty anchors and screws. We also wanted a little fiberglass work done on a vent housing. They're fiberglass guy was very unenthusiastic and quoted us $3000. Again, we declined the service. The prices the quality of work but mostly the excellent communication and follow up by Sherry and the staff at Gulf Marine. After all of the work was completed on our boat they graciously let us drive our 44 foot 5th wheel close to their docks so we could move onto the boat. Then all of the staff including the 70 year old GM in 100 degree heat started moving our boxes and bags of home goods onto the boat and we didn't even ask! I don't know if we could have done it in a day with out them but it was truly amazing and incredibly kind of the Gulf Marine team. Our boat was damaged in IAN so i took it to Walkers for repair of Gelcoat, powdercoat and electronics connections. The repairs were supposedly completed 6 weeks later. I showed up late in the day to pick up the boat by water. The boat was absolutely filthy even though I was told it was washed. The electronics were not repaired, the powder coat repairs were further gouged and scuffed by the "cleaning" crew. I reached out to Kim the service manager with no replies. I then spoke with management who assured me they would come to my home for the repairs which never happened. I was forced to hire another company at my cost. I disputed the charges by walkers with Capital One to no avail because walkers argued it. They are dishonest and it was theft in my opinion. NEVER USE WALKERS!!

After 6 1/2 months they returned the boat looking like no one had taken care of it for 6 1/2 months -- wait -- no one had taken care of it for that time. No wonder it hadn't sold. Every time I talked to Tom, it was like I was bothering him. The response to it not selling -- its filthy and the market is no good. I even offered to pay to have it cleaned. He said if you do it on our lot -- we will up charge you even though we have no one to clean it. The only option is to to lower the price or remove it from our lot. I wouldn't do any business with them on any level. They are the worst dealership in southwest Florida.

After the show, we drove to Fort Lauderdale and picked up the boat. Our trip home will take us to Marathon before heading north to Fort Myers. When we left the ICW at the Port Everglades Inlet heading into the Atlantic, we had an alarm go off as we throttled up. I immediately called Mike at Diversified. Mike is the mechanic for Volvo Penta engines; he provided his mobile number so I can call him at any time. Mike diagnosed the issue as a faulty sensor. He advised me that I could proceed to the Coral Reef Yacht Club in Miami, where we planned to overnight, but I would need to do so at a slower speed to keep my exhaust temperature within an acceptable range. While all of this is complementary to Diversified Yachts and Mike, what happened next was extraordinary. Mike checked with the parts department, and they had the part in stock. Ben, who manages the diesel service department, called and said he could have Mike drive from Fort Myers to Miami in the morning to make the repair. Wow! Cruising at 10 knots would have made the trip home a long slog. The next morning, Mike showed up at Coral Reef at 9:30 am. Made the repair, and we were on our way to Marathon before noon. Because the engines are under warranty, there was no charge for this amazing level of service! A big thank you to Mike, Ben, and Diversified Yachts!

A consumer WARNING. Our boat needed a quick bottom…read morecleaning and a simple bottom paint job. The manager Brad, quoted us between $1,700 - $2,200 and would take two weeks to complete. The boat is 30' and a flat bottom with only 286 square feet of painting area required, 2 weeks should be more than enough time. I asked for the quote in writing but Brad insisted that on the island, a verbal quote between businesses was just as good. After all, we moved to the laid-back island one year ago and this handshake type of trust is what we liked about it here. A few days later on January 27, 2020 we brought the boat to them. Our boat is a historical commercial tour boat and our only source of income. Any extended downtime would cost us the tourism season. Well, soon the promised two weeks was three, then four and so on... 6-1/2 weeks later, with only the cleaning performed and listening to every excuse in the world from Brad, we decided to take the boat elsewhere but the owner Tom Papesh holds your boat hostage once he has it in his yard on stands. Tom immediately came out yelling about all of his lawyers he has and that the boat isn't coming off the stands unless he gets paid. Wow! Paid for what Tom? Putting our boat on stands and only cleaning it? Please let me know what I owe you for this and I'll pay and be on our way, but Tom wasn't going to let that happen. He really thinks he owns every boat in the yard until he decides to release them. He definitely didn't want to see the boat taken to a neighboring marina which is where she was headed to be handled professionally. Tom asked me what Brad quoted on the job and just shook his head with no mention of the job costing more than the original quote. He insisted the boat would be finished in a few weeks, so we agreed only because he wasn't releasing the boat without a legal battle. We stopped by during the next few weeks and the workmanship was horrible and painful to witness. We let them know several times and took pictures. At this point, ending this nightmare was more important than this amateur work. We already knew we had to bring the boat to a reputable company to be completed properly once we get it out of there. Now, on April 8th (almost ¼ of a year) from the day we brought the boat to them they called and said the job was complete. Upon arrival, the boat was hanging from the crane instead of on its trailer as if it was Tom's prize hostage. In the office with a scared look on his face for good reason, Brad hands us a 4-page itemized bill, certainly not the original take my word for it quote, and we definitely never agreed to a time and material job. I simply turned to the last page for the total because whatever they itemized was pure lies. I think they wanted a confrontation and we wouldn't stoop to that level. The total was $6,215.38. As shocking as this was and much higher than his max $2,200 quote, I wrote the ransom check just to get the boat out of there. This was Tom's revenge for us wanting to take the boat elsewhere and commenting on his substandard work. Well, tourist season is over and we now hold the record for paying the highest price in the industry for a bottom paint job, thanks to York Road Marina and Illegal Impoundment Business. This was consumer extortion at its best. The States Attorney's office has been notified about their business practices and I'm sure karma will catch up with him. If you have a boat there, or are thinking about bringing one there, be careful. You are more than welcome to come see our boat before it gets repaired correctly.
