I enjoyed sitting in the nice chairs and reading, the espresso machine, the well-stocked gym, and even the pickleball court. Sadly, the pool wasn't open due to lifeguard staffing issues, but everything else was awesome. They also host lots of events and gatherings for the residents that are always well-attended. So happy that my parents are living in such an awesome 55+ community. I would move here in a heartbeat. 25 years to go!!

Chris did a walk through and gave us a price, $250, asking us to mail a check in advance, which we did. We arrived the next week to find our refrigerator unplugged (necessitating hours of cleaning, recycling, shopping), a broken picture frame with several shards of glass on the floor, dust under couches, an uncleaned enclosed front porch (which he said he couldn't open, but never called to ask about the latch, which just requires turning), and several uncleaned cabinets. When I called to express disappointment, he told me the place was a "pigsty," that he had to "inhale mouse feces" and that he had done me a "favor" to even clean it. This is in spite of being aware of the condition of the cottage - including the mouse droppings from the winter, which we discussed - and in spite of having seen it before quoting the price. He refused to offer any apology or compensation, other than for the price of the condiments from the fridge. Over three phone calls/voicemails, he continued to disparage the house, stating that he was used to cleaning cottages and multimillion dollar mansions, but my mother's place was "filthy." In his last message, he chalked it up to "misunderstanding" and "different standards." We have had cleaners do the one-time spring cleaning before, with no problems. We are also experienced with employing cleaners at our year-round home, with satisfaction for all parties. We were stunned to receive nothing but derogatory and defensive statements, especially when Chris had assessed the house before the job! The place is actually tidy, other than the mouse droppings, cobwebs and dust, which are part of the spring cleaning job. It seems that Chris and Kathy's resentment over the work turned in to sloppy service. I would not recommend Sandy Chores to anyone.
