This place has a lot of heart and great friendly staff. My kids really enjoyed coming here, I'd say it's best for kids under 8. It's one large room with different play areas with different themes. There is an outdoor area out back as well. Leaving some room for improvement in my review, looks like they will be updating soon so will have to visit after that to see changes. It is pricey for what it is, $15 per person, but a good option for a rainy day on the cape. read more

First time visiting this weekend, it was exactly what I pictured. Met my expectations and was super cute for kids I'd say eight and under. The only issue is there is no heat!! I went the other day and it was freezing and my sister went back today and asked if they have heat and the girl said it only goes to 57 degrees! As a place for mostly younger kids I thought 57 degrees is ridiculous! We all kept our winter jackets on as well as everyone else in the space. We got 50% off passes from the Brooks Library and headed to the Cape Cod Children's Museum on July 3rd. It was a "girls day". Me, my 5 year old daughter, and Auntie. It's really really cute inside and there's a lot to do. We stayed 3 hours! Before you even pay admission, there's a puzzle in the lobby that's the shape of the Cape with town names as pieces. There's facts on the back of the pieces. 5 is pretty much the oldest who will enjoy the main museum, but they thought of older siblings and there's an age 6+ STEAM room. There's also a small area for babies that aren't walking yet. Exhibits include a large pirate ship (2 levels), camping tents, Cape Cod Oceans with a fishing area & "bait shop", a castle on a wall, submarine, music section, train, pet hospital, restaurant, "tree house" with building stuff, and an epic green screen. Pro tip: the family restroom in the back of "The Parent Trap" (gift shop). The regular restroom is tiny and does not have a changing table. No food allowed and they don't sell any or beverages, so pack some water in your car for your return drive. read more

At $15 a person this place is a rip off. Most children's museums are 2 or 3 and under is free. Here is 1 and under. With all the money on the cape I can't believe this is the children's museum option. Also no food or drinks allowed in a children's place is insane. A lot of fun for everyone at the FROZEN event which was packed!!! The museum itself has a lot of interactive activities to choose from including a train, restaurant, magnetic fishing, dinosaurs, pirate ship, coloring table, science experiments and mind teasing puzzles - one of which I YouTube'd :-P $10 gets you in whether you are 1 or 59 unless you are a member. This place was...not worth the money. I took my two-year-old daughter who is fascinated by most things because well, she's 2. I was not expecting to see the entire "museum" upon walking in. I was hoping there was something else to see. I had to try and stay for an entire hour while she was definitely becoming increasingly uninterested and honestly, I could not blame her. There were out-of-date toys without batteries. A few different "exhibits" but each one was disappointing. What was supposed to be some kind of gymnastics area for running and jumping around was 3 bouncy balls and some hula hoops. I mean, I could have done that myself after taking a trip to the dollar store. Perhaps COVID restrictions made this place worse than it normally is because there's only one group allowed in an "exhibit" at a time. With older kids, this is easier to explain. To toddlers, good luck explaining that they cannot go to an area where other kids are playing. I had to hold my daughter back the entire time from going near other people. If the museum is open and everyone is sanitizing and wearing masks and the amount of people are limited, I don't really see the big deal. If someone is uncomfortable with their kid being around other kids, they could avoid the museum altogether of course. My daughter definitely got some dirty looks as I had to keep her away from other people...she's 2... Also, the bathrooms were gross. Toilets were completely not clean. No toilet paper. What?! If we need to be a little bit more aware of hygiene here...we should really start in the bathrooms people. Also...I was annoyed I had to pay for myself as if it were an enjoyable experience to be there at all. $20 and I had to really push to stay an hour to get my money's worth. I did not get my money's worth. Can I have my $20 back? (Not to mention they also have a gift shop full of more random junk. Have fun dragging your child out of that too...as if you didn't waste your money already). read more

The kids had a wonderful time. It was about an hour from where we were staying (Harwich) but since it was rainy it was worth the drive. I joined the local library and reserved a voucher for half off. They charge for every adult, and children 1 and up. There is plenty of things to keep them engaged. The museum hours are 10-3 so just be prepared to get there to have time to experience everything. read more

AC was down on a 92 degree day.. but we couldn't tell until we paid because there was a fan blowing near the front desk. Once you walked away from that area it was stifling. So miserably hot - my 4 year old said "I'm sweating my neck off!" and we left after 45 minutes. It is just one big open room with play areas in it. Everything seemed pretty dated a the outdoor area is just a big turf area which could have been awesome except the only thing on the turf was two of the collapsible tent-like tunnels for babies to crawl through. It had the potential to be so cool! Definitely not worth the money and wish we weren't charged the regular price when the place was an oven. read more

Not a fan of the blatant misnomer: the most educational aspect to this museum are the info packets for other Cape attractions at the front. It's an indoor playground, albeit a pretty fun one for our toddler. Various themed attractions around the floor, including a nifty submarine, a farm with a fishing pond, a treehouse with a tool-laden workbench, and a giant pirate ship in the middle. As you'd expect, this place crushes when it's raining nearby. Had to laugh seeing a bunch of dads (myself included) keeping only half-attention on the kids as we tried our hands at the adult logic puzzle stations throughout the "museum." There's a quiet corner with a changing station, as well as a gift shop if you didn't feel like they bilked you enough: every adult is charged full price ($9) to simply accompany the kid. An hour at an indoor playground - a non-profit playground with most attractions generously donated by regional richies still preys on frazzled or exhausted parents just looking to keep their kids occupied during tumultuous weather. $27 for one hour. This place has been open for 15 years and sad to say I've been driving right by it. Today I decided to peek in and see what they have to offer. I was very impressed. They have activities for ages 1 and up. Well... The center is focused more towards children I'd say 7 and under but the sign says 1-59 so let the child in all of us come right on out. You walk in and notice they are split in to different Zones. They have a pirate ship in the middle and a bunch of different pretend zones all around. Just sit back and relax parents, connect to the wi-if and let your children's imagination come to life. I'll be back again for sure rain or shine grab a yearly family membership for $99.99. What you can't tell from the website is that it's relatively small in square footage. Basically it's one big room that's about 2/3 the size of a hockey rink. I guess the advantage to that as a parent is that you can sit down in a central spot and keep one eye on your kids inspecting each of the activities. Mostly geared to kids younger than 8 so my 5 year old is in heaven but my 9 year old is making the best of it. I'm visiting on a rainy Sunday, so it's probably a little busier than normal. First thing: There are a few people who are saying this is a indoor playground but for those who dont understand that is most of what a childrens museum is, its a big playground with a few learning environment things for kids to do. Our 3 year old had a great time here when we visited the Cape while seeing family. They have a ton here in a small space. Even have arts and craft with the great staff that is here. The staff was super friendly from the desk to the arts and staff people. We had a great time and felt at home. So much for your little one to do here. read more

I thought it was great! It's good for younger ages. It's educational play. Kids learn by playing! My 4 and 6 year olds loved it! About an hour and a half is good to see explore everything. I agree that the price is steep for a children's museum. My son is 1.5 years old and was the same rate as adults. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. In regards to the previous comment that there aren't activities planned for adults. My understanding is it is a children's museum. Typically the adult (parent/caregiver) is interacting with the chid. Out of all of the children's museums I've been to with my son this one is the star. As a preschool teacher by profession I was amazed by the activities provided, the learning centers set-up and the detail to quality early childhood experience. The centers included: -a tree house workshop (with tools, cones, truck books) -an enormous pirate ship (dress up trunk, mast to climb on) -kitchen/bakery/retaurant/table area (dishes, pretend food, cash registers, shopping carts) -postal office -music room -train table, vehicle table -huge submarine with port holes, steering wheel, telescope, all types of buttons, screens -a large play wood train (holds children-engine, 2 cars, caboose) -a manipulatives area (beads, duplos, puzzles) -large rowboat -puppet theatre and puppets -ramps, magnets (science exploration) and that is not all. Each center is so well done and engaging. I was so inspired by the ideas here and of course my son had fun. read more

After spending a long weekend at the Cape (offseason) we stopped off at this children's museum. It kept the kids (7 & 3) busy for several hours, so it Worked! Seating for the adults was limited is my only complaint, but I am lazy. There were mind puzzles that all the parents were found to attempt and I dont think anyone was successful... so fun for all ages I guess. The space was not very large, looking like a small airplane hanger, so I would guess at a busier time of year there would be a problem. At our visit it was fine, and that is also with birthday parties being held in 2 private rooms. Lastly, a disappointing loss of my son's winter jacket. There is a main coat hanger when you walk in and the child must have grabbed the wrong jacket. There was a similiar one left behind, but too small for my son. Oh well, honest mistake. Cute place to take small kids when the weather isn't the greatest on the Cape. I will agree with other Yelpers, that it isn't much of a Museum, but more of a large space with little activities and areas for the kids to explore, and honestly with a 2 year old and an 8 month old it was perfect for us. My husband and I took our almost 2 year old here. It's one big room with some activities. I feel like it should be advertised as more of a play zone than a children's museum. Any time we've gone to a children's museum in the past, it's been a big hit, with lots of different educational activities for all ages, but this didn't have that feel. There are so many other kid friendly activities on the Cape (many of which are free) that I think would be more exciting than this for little ones. It might be worth saving the admission fee for someplace else. read more

I am completely spoiled with one of the best children's museums in the country (please touch in Philadelphia) so overall I thought this museum was dinky and overpriced for what it was. That said if you have a toddler and a rainy day this is probably your best (only?) option on the cape, and I bet they completely clean up during high season. We got a groupon so we paid half price thank goodness. They also offered circle time and craft activities which made the price of admission more worth it. My daughter (2) did enjoy it. There were plenty of puppets, pretend and dress up to keep her occupied for a couple of hours. They gave us vouchers for free ice cream (down the road a piece) so that was a nice surprise. A fun place for kid's of all ages! Plenty to do and the kid's never get bored as they always moan whenever I say time to go! Would be niceif they had more for adults to do, but on the other hand it gives you a chance to interact with your children and get them away from the TV and video games. Those who complain about the cost most likely don't realize how expensive it is to run a facility like this. They are a non-profit primarily staffed by volunteers. My hat is off to those at the CCCM who work hard to make this a fun place to go to for both kids and adults. Be sure to check out the Friday night Shinzdig held once a month as the last one featured the Children's Choir from Christ the King and African Drummers and dancers which made for one fun friday night! read more

We've been to quite a few children's museums and this is by far my least favorite. It is small and some of the exhibits are pretty lame (the apple garden in the back being one of them). The submarine was pretty cool and was definitely my daughter's favorite spot. More of a big play space than a museum. Definitely overpriced for what it is. Cost us $46 to take our two children and their two grandparents to it...yes all adults were charged as well. There is no place to eat indoors so not sure how you can last long with young children here when their is bad weather. Only place to get food was the hot dog stand in the back where there were picnic tables. I'm giving it 2 stars because we came here to get out of the heat but their air conditioning can not cool their big space. If you are going to charge that much $ you should be able to cool your space!!!! Very disappointed since we drove for awhile to get here and sweating inside like crazy. This place is way too overpriced for what it is. The hours are not appropriate for someone who has to work a job. Even after my mother spent over 100$ on a pass I couldn't use it because She wasn't present they made her pay another 25$. Also the only time I could go would be on the weekends for which they are only opened a limited hours. Also they have not updated any exhibits since 2014The only thing that I see different is if you donate money they will paint your name on something. Had a great experience visiting last week with my kids, a four yr old and five yr old. It was a relatively quiet day at the museum despite being vacation week which was a nice change from the last few tines we visited. The space is really well- maintained and it looks like they've updated a couple of the exhibits. The kids played for nearly four hours. Rather expensive but worth it. I'm sure they'll age out in the next year though ... and I'll surely miss this place, particularly on rainy, cold days. read more

Fun for my little ones... ages 5 and almost-two. They had a blast and Mashpee was a little boring for them. It gave them something to do close to the condos. My 5 yo loved the submarine the best. No option for zero stars! I have to be completely honest when I say you would be better off taking children to the Cape Cod Mall then this children's "Museum". At $9 per person, so $27 for the 3 of us to pay our way in, I would rather you folks attempting to entertain your little one(s) stay clear of this venue. My 5-year-old was bored after 15 minutes. If you want to complete some puzzles made out of blocks or steel or color an owl drawing then perhaps 20 minutes would suffice. Most exhibits were missing components or were broken. I actually think this place is more of a rundown daycare without teachers but with 2 young ladies ready to take your $9 admission and/or money at the gift shop for crappy imported toys. read more

My 18 month old daughter squeals every time we go here. We drive and HOUR to get here because she loves it so much. We have also been to the Easton Childrens Museum and this one has more to do for her age group. As for the parent activities... hello? Playing with your kids? But, there are also a few puzzles set up that I could not solve and I saw many other parents and older kids struggiling. So, have at it parents... I also agree with one of the commenters on the expense of running a facility such as this.
