I like Pokemon 151 and got taught the other series I never opened that I wanted to buy but wanted certain characters. I even bought very low cost cards as I collect Lorcana and requested(if they could) to penny sleeve them all instead of putting them together in a pack and told them I'd pay extra. They accommodated me and only charged another 5$ which I expected it to be a lot more. I also love it as my S/O never felt harassed or looked down upon by being a female they were so excited to share stories and help find items and just loving the genre and hobby. I usually hate leaving their side because of harassment but I felt comfortable exploring while they have a good time talking and laughing to the employees! The online photos did not do this board game store justice for the size selection they have, which is very big. This has been the best board game store I've been to, we have been to handfuls of board game shops across NC. I would highly recommend this place for any level of board games you play, children, entry level to high difficulty games. Has Warhammer, card, dice and many other accessories. The back has lots of disc golf supplies and next door you can currently reserve a table to rent and play board games, the cafe part seems to be closed. The staff are abundant and knowledgeable, helpful, asks you great probing questions to get a feel for what board game would work for you or what your looking for if you'd like and gives their opinion on their game play experience. The store is well organized by category/style game, clean and well stocked. Husband was able to find a couple new games for two players, one that is new and upcoming in popularity and fairly easy to play, we found a boardgame that a friend has been searching for a long time and got a couple games as gifts for our friend's birthday. read more

This is my ideal game store- Table top & disc golf. They have a massive variety of games, puzzles, and figurines. Their disc golf section is stuffed with discs! They have a great selection of accessories & bags too. I wish the game cafe was open next door when I visited. Next time i'm in town- I plan to line that up right. *Found out about these guys from the flyers over at Flytrap. Great drinks, great music, and fantastic service. My husband and son are BIG boardgamers. My husband is familiar with this store bc their store is also online. After Sunday brunch, we stopped here to see it in person. This is one of the nicest game stores I have ever been in. It is easily one of the roomiest, holding a good sized gaming area in the back. It's clean, and easy to browse through. Their selection of games is excellent and well organized. Their prices are average. I love that they are a local shop and they sponsor a good number of community events! I wish we lived closer so that we could participate. We will definitely come here again when we are back in town. Great store with nice people that deserve their 5 star reputation. read more

Went in to look at a disc golf cart. They seemed to have a good selection of items in there but the customer service has a lot to be desired. Was in there about 10min looking at stuff and no one ever asked or even acknowledged my presence in the store. Was visiting out of town with my Dad to see my Uncle. So, my Uncle took my Dad and I to this little spot. So, many things to look at, you could very easily get overwhelmed and spend hours looking in that game shop. I had it where I walked passed games I already saw when I first walked in, and I found something new I didn't see beforehand. Employee was nice as well, had great conversations about Disney Trivia. In the end, I bought Bob's Burgers Trivial Pursuit and a Bob's Burgers puzzle, along with Disney Trivia game. One card I wanted was $10 less online in the same condition from the same set. - The staff is friendly. Wasn't really sure what this store was by I stopped in while passing by. It's definitely not my type of game store, there were a lot of board games ranging from Pokémon, magic and other card games. They have card game tournaments for customers. It's probably a great place for those who like strategy style games. read more

Nerd alert! Do you like games? More specifically card games or board games? You must check out Cape Fear Games! The wife and I stopped in here early Friday night to purchase scrabble for date night. I love having options and there were five different editions of the games ranging in price from $25-$60. The front of the store is all retail and they have every board game and card game you can imagine. In the back is large area with tables for playing. This is apparently the place to be on Friday night as we noticed about thirty people playing "magic". The woman at the checkout explained that is card game and they host battles every Friday night. Thursday night is open board game night but anyone is welcome to come play any night of the week. To the left of the register are a few drink coolers and snacks for purchase. Everything's more fun with alcohol so we asked about their policy. Alcohol is unfortunately not allowed but there is a wine tasting shop conveniently located next door. She said some gamers go there before or after but they try to keep the establishment family friendly. Basically don't get drunk and game but she was more tactful about it. I can't wait to go back soon and play some games! Not really sure what the big deal is about "Magic: the gathering" but after seeing all those people excitedly playing I am very curious. I started to play Magic the Gathering a few months ago. My son began and I had lots of questions about what he was playing. The staff at CFG were not only able to handle every question I had, and the ones I keep throwing at them, they got me hooked. Now I'm a regular on Friday nights to play Friday Night Magic Standard tournaments, special events, and others. Everyone on the staff is incredible and knowledgeable about all the products in the store. They have an incredible inventory of single cards for Magic and others. I love this place, located in a strip mall surrounded by food and fun stores! If you're looking for outdoor game items for frisbee golf, or even board games for your little ones- this is the place. You can find games of all sorts here and plenty of play space to play it. They even have a library of games for you to play. There is an afterschool activity time and you can always learn how to play the game by asking an employee to help. They're always willing. If you're looking to sell your Magic cards here, they've got a database that can help you with pricing. We are in Wilmington 6-8 times a year and always make a point to visit this FLGS. They have great selection, comparable pricing and very friendly staff. They do a good job of suggesting games based on what we already like and never get ruffled if we aren't into the games they suggest. So the other day I was at this shop, and decided to buy some Yugioh packs. They were on sale, so I decided to buy all they had. The number needed up being 45, just 3 short of 2 boxes. The next day, I opened the packs, and pulled exactly 3 ultimate rates, nothing else... Anyone who knows about Yugioh rarities knows that this is outrageous, and could not happen unless the packs had been scaled, since ultimate weight about the same as commons, and other rarities are heavier. I confronted the store manager, Ryan, regarding the issue. He refused all blame, and would not issue a refund. Furthermore, he refused to give me the contact info for the general manager or store owner so that I could take my complaint up with them. Due to this issue, I will NEVER do business at this store again, and I caution other about their business there as well. read more
