So fun! My teen loves The summer I turned pretty and during a beach weekend we had an hour to kill and I knew Wilmington has a few film locations so we looked them up and choose this book store. It is a cute little store. Decorated so fun and uniquely. Store and area was very busy for a Sunday which I'm assuming due to the popularity of the show. Worker was friendly and kind. Definitely recommend stopping even if you aren't a SITP fan!

Sunday visit and were just shocked at the prices of books... used kids chapter books looked like they were $12 as an example. I was looking at other books too but the expense just was very off putting especially for used items which I'd have expected to be less considering they were visibly used. The stars mostly go to the visuals of the shop and book variety. It's quaint and really trendy with art, used and new books, and some merch but didn't end up buying anything. We weren't greeted because the employee was so busy with other customers so overall it was a meh experience unfortunately and left empty handed.

I'm an avid book reader and needed to get something out of the trip so Papercut Books was along the block we parked on for the day. I'm so happy I came in. I Immediately felt so comfy and cozy. The decor was great and the book selection was abundant! Did I walk out of there blowing my budget on books? Absolutely. Was it worth it? YUP. We were fortunate enough to meet Andy, the owner's husband and he was so kind and chatted with us about OTH and the area. If I ever come back to Wilmington, this will be the first place I stop!

They sell vintage books, clothing , fanciful items, handmade bookmarks, and upcycled jewelry amongst antique furniture and comfy seating areas to read books. One can spend hours browsing new and old books in this bookstore for hours. The Netflix Series: The Summer I Turned Pretty was filmed there - starring Lola Tung, Gavin Casalegno and Christopher Briney. The bookstore was filmed in the scene where Laurel and Susannah see writer Cleveland Castillo at the Whale of a Tale bookshop (Episode 1.3) (Episode 1.3) One of the most unique and joyful bookstore experiences I ever had in my life. A definitely go see place for book lovers in Wilmington, North Carolina. read more

Stopped by this adorable book shop while walking around downtown. There were plenty of books and small gifts to choose from! The cashier was knowledgeable and able to help many people who had questions. She was always extremely kind. Stop in if you're ever in the Wilmington area. read more

Husband and I went in after walking by. We were thinking of buying some books to read to our toddler but we found this great instrument set for much cheaper than other places and it has been keeping our toddler busy for quite a bit now. This is the cutest bookstore! Huge selection of books. Found everything I was looking for. Seems like most are new books but there are some used books- you just have to take them off the shelf to find out. Definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

Loved, loved this small bookstore. The decor and vibe are amazing, the organization of the books so thoughtful. I do think it caters a little more to younger female crowd but it has a great selection for everybody. Hope this local gem is supported by locals. read more

Horrible collection of the most predictable faux literary titles, staffed by man hating womxn, overpriced, dumb decor--what could be a decent bookstore is ruined by the absolute lack of fluency in both modern and contemporary literature. It's terrifying how poorly stocked the shop is with overpraised, overrated pathetic American writers. No foreign lit, predictably generic classics, lack of non-fiction are glaring. Cliche of the modern "indie" shop selling only corporate titles like, say, Sally Rooney. Makes Books A Million look like The Strand. Great location though! read more

They also carry stunning leather bound books along with drawing supplies for the artists and creatives out there. Wandering through this bookstore felt like stepping into a magical little world that I genuinely did not want to leave. Even though we stopped in close to closing time, the owner never once made us feel rushed or like an inconvenience. She was incredibly welcoming, kind, and happy to have us there. Excellent customer service - 5 Stars. The owner of the bookstore was at the entrance and greeted me & others immediately when we entered the bookstore. Upon entering, I noticed many areas were sectioned and off limits. I found out later that they were placing books back in the bookshelves after they were taken away to repair broken pipes in the store and to prevent them from getting damaged. There were a literary jukebox and vending machine dispensing capsules with quotes - both out of order. I still had a good time wandering around the bookstore and browsing books there. I found a book in the clearance section for 25 cents and purchased it. Despite the inconveniences in the store due to the building being old and being repaired by the owner herself, I am impressed by how personable & amicable the owner was and that she was repairing the pipes in the store by herself instead of hiring someone to do it. I know when the books are organized back on the shelves that I will probably come back and spend more time here. This is a bookstore to see in Wilmington again and again.

I stopped in here a couple of years ago because the name was fun and the shop looked welcoming. The store have very friendly staff who were both available and eager to help but were not at all pushy or encroaching. The store is smaller but still has a well laid out floor plan to allow for easy traffic flow. The collection of books features your standard readers across several genres and then a selection of special editions which may be a leather bound, rare, or signed copy of a book. Pricing was fair in my opinion on both the books and available gifts found at Papercut Books. If I remember correctly I picked up a copy of Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman during my visit. I'm not often in the Wilmington area but if I was in the area had the time I would definitely stop in again. I hope to see this business here for many years to come. read more
