Peterborough (56 km), Belleville (50 km) or even Kingston (130 km) make it a very scenic enjoyable drive (or ride) for a day trip for good food

Not bad actually. But what nary comes to mind is a Trinidad and Tobago treasure trove of Caribbean treats. D's Modern Caribbean serves them up with style in the lovely town of Campbellford. I had the very reasonably priced half roti and salad with jerk chicken, of course. My friend had the same with goat, of course. And my wife had the cleverly and deliciously prepared mushrooms, cooked and styled like scallops, of course. Man alive! Flavours were spot on, heat was legit but not over the top. My only regret, I was too stuffed to enjoy some of their home made ice cream and the bread pudding. Should you ever find yourself in Northumberland County, I suggest you pop in for a visit!
