Horrible experience with waitress Madison, she was telling us she was bringing my cousin & my main meal when we where still eating our appetizers so we asked her to wait on bringing our dinner & to order fresh mains for us, but instead she keeps it getting soaked in oil & cold at the pass. My cousins who was visiting us from Holland was so hungry that she ended up eating part of her soggy, oily & cold fish'n chips, but I asked Madison to get me a fresh meal because I didn't mind waitinga little longer, but instead she left with my old food & resumed taking other customers orders, about 20 mins. later I managed to get her attention & asked her where my food is & that I'm still waiting to eat & she very rudely says "you didn't want it so i took it to the kitchen", but I told her i'm hungry & still want to eat, but by that point they had run out of fries so I was S.O.L since I didn't want onion rings with the fish & that was the 1st time Madison even offered me an alternative for my dinner because as I said she left with my old food withoutsayinga word. I had to wait until I got home to eat. If that's not bad enough my husband asked for condiments, but instead she forgets & goes & take other customers orders, then he had to chase other staff outside to get condiments & his burger was cold. I sent a complained to the owner Allison & she offered 25.00 gift card but didn't acknowledge my husband's cold food & made a bunch of excuses about how she's not apologizing for her freezer breaking down. She should have had a backup plan like cutting their own potatoes & making home fries instead of telling customers that they ran out of fries. Which makes no sense to my family and I who had a horrible experience at this restaurant! I'm forgoing the $25 gift card due to reading other customers reviews giving this restaurant a 3.6 stars which I wished I had read before wasting our hard earned money & it was so embarrassing because we brought our cousin's from Europe to this location. Hope they improve their customer service & have a backup plan if their freezer breaks down again. The manager should apologize for it because customers are eating there because they've hungry & don't want to know why they ran out of items on the menu! read more

Food: Could be ok, never got to find out. Service: sorry, but they need to politely acknowledge people waiting to be seated. Visited twice while vacationing in the area. If you eat on the patio it has lovely views. The inside of the restaurant is ok- nothing fancy. Food was meh. It did the trick but was nothing special. We were visiting in September and I checked the menu on line before we came but they must dial it back after Labour Day because most of what I saw on line was not on the current (1 page) menu . We have been going to Mainstreet as a group for our family birthdays for over a year now and we have always enjoyed the ambiance, food and service. Last summer we enjoyed the patio at the back looking over the waterway! We are always a party of 12 and totally look forward to our outings as a family. We had a great lunch here. The patio is right on the water and it's fun to watch boats dock there. We had the deluxe grilled cheese (with pulled pork) and a burger. Both were excellent and the fries were hot and delicious. Our server, Reese, was attentive and friendly. I asked about the coolers and she helped me pick one that suited me perfectly. I haven't enjoyed anything I have eaten there. The food is subpar and the service is unbelievably slow. The ONLY thing they have going is their location on the water. Different visiting family always want to take us there so we suck it up and go. Every time a disappointment. Across the street the food is far better but not on the water. So basically if you don't care about the food the patio is great. read more

So we took some friends by boat who had never been here before..they thought the boat ride and being able to have drinks and food outside was awesome...but then we ordered food..our food took over an hr to come and they have plenty of servers, busboys etc. It also seems that the servers are encouraged to upsell everything..we order the special which was BBQ chicken quesadilla and it came with salad Or fries and I said a salad and she said we have garden, Ceasar or Greek..so I said Greek..well the quesadilla came with the fries and she charges me for a Greek salad.. Also my friend ordered nachos..after an hr or more they come and they are literally cold in the middle..chicken still felt frozen...if u just want to have drinks this is the place for you but if u want food be prepared to spend two hrs.. read more

High priced, for mediocre food. Great view. Service slow and drinks very low in alcohol. This particular owner thinks he is serving people in Yorkville but the people who are the year round residents who could support the restaurant during the lean months ( winter ) have a reasonably priced menu or a discount card for locals. Keeps your staff year round and not put new guests through the training process , learning process of waiters only here for the summer payday. You make superb money from the wealthy big yacht people who want to show f their wealth but the people who will support your restaurant year round can not afford your prices ! read more

We have been coming here for breakfast every weekend for the past few years as we recently purchased a cottage in the area. 4 years ago this place would have had 5 stars. The best hash browns I had ever had are now off the menu. There is no longer an option to choose a smaller or larger meal with 1 or 3 eggs. The prices have skyrocketed and quality has gone down. I'm really disappointed and hope another breakfast spot opens in the area soon. read more

I've been to Mainstreet Landing several times for lunch over the last few months and have ordered the same thing each time -- the nachos. I seem to be addicted to their nachos! Because of that, I can't really say what the other food on the menu tastes like, but the nachos are good! Unfortunately, the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the fact that they do not offer free refills on pop and they charge an arm and a leg for that one glass of pop filled with a heck of a lot of ice. I don't mind it when a restaurant overdoes the ice if they offer free refills. But don't make customers pay $3 for ONE glass of pop and then put in 50% ice. Because of this, I started ordering water. Since I was getting mostly ice anyway, I might as well not have to pay for it. If you visit on a nice day, definitely sit outside on the patio. It's a great spot for a patio as you can watch the boats come and go from the lock. Just be careful where you sit because it can be a little too sunny if you select a table in the middle of the patio (as opposed to around the sides). read more

Beautiful spot. Food is excellent - Service is questionable - today we waited 1 1/2 hours to get our food. While it was busy, it was not crowded or rushed as not all tables were full. After 45 minutes I asked the waitress if it would be much longer. She said "I'm waiting for it to come up at the window". 20 minutes later she walks by (in the mean time people who were seated after we were have finished their meal and left). and says - "Oh - I will just check on your order". She comes back and says "It won't be long now." After an hour and a half, our order arrives and my husband's order was wrong. No sorry for the wait, or apology of any sort, when it was perfectly obvious that she had not put the order in to start with. She says "I will take it back and order up what he wanted". By this time I had had enough and told her no, we cannot wait another hour and a half, so just leave it. There was no tip left. The bar is cluttered and used as a work area. Maintenance poor......the 2 bars are not level and have been this way for months. Cigarettes butts all around the building . Staff smoking pot outside the kitchen with the manager . They have a 2nd bar they can work from....hidden from customers. the bar could be an attraction, but they refuse to clean it up......The staff congregate often which ignore customers ....I see they make good tips, but this is due to location and summer traffic. It's a great pace for the views and only pace in the area for tourists and is always busy, yet could do better for both customers and owners. The table service is slow, kitchen backups persistent and first contact by servers takes forever . Faster service is happier customers , happier staff and management as the have more people roll through the place increases revenue and tips. Draft taps need cleaning , per the server and taint flavour.... Drink canned or bottled beer .....Positives, great fries burgers solid and wings are decent ........ITS THE ONLY PLACE IN TOWN....THEY WILL ALWAY HAVE TRAFFIC AND MAKE A FEW BUCKS , this may prevent them from becoming what they could be and really being a wonderful pace to visit with the customer base the location deserves. read more

We arrived as a larger group (14) tonight and were told the wait would be 30-40 mins to "let the dinner rush die down" The kitchen was apparently backed up. She said she appreciated our patience. She said we could either wait or she would take our phone number and call us. We watched multiple smaller groups walk-in or be told that the wait is only 20 minutes. We watched those same people come back and be seated. The waitress saw me looking over at her (due to the fact that she just let people walk in ahead of us). She that the "young" greeter was trying to politely ask us to leave because the kitchen couldn't handle our party size. I recommended that it would have been much easier if she just came out and said that so we didn't sit there for 30 mins with 6 kids. She said well I don't know but "I am politely asking you to leave". Unbelievable!! This is the ABSOLUTE worst customer service I have ever seen. Second time here (last time a few years ago) this time apparently under new ownership...seems like an improvement. Location is fantastic...on the water at Lock 31 with good size patio to enjoy the views and watch the boats. Service was great-we asked for and were given a table right by the water, our server was lovely, checked in frequently but wasn't intrusive...overall pleasant experience. Food: -wings (we got the naked/dry lemon pepper):were delish. Crispy and flavourful -house salad: was ok. The dressing was tasty, but nothing to write home about. I only ordered it because it listed avocado but, alas, there was no avocado. Had I known I probably would have ordered a different salad. -ribs and fries: I did not like the ribs personally but I almost never like restaurant ribs so that's just me....my husband ate the half rack and enjoyed it. I felt they were cooked well texture-wise but lacked seasoning. Probably a personal preference thing. Fries were really good -wine list: small but has some popular imports (eg J.Lohr) and not outrageously marked up as restaurants go Overall, a good bet if you're in Buckhorn and looking for decent food and friendly service on a beautiful waterfront patio. Came here for lunch with the girlfriend. We ordered the seafood chowder (tasted homemade with salmon and clams), fish and chips with sweet potato fries and fish tacos with kale salad. Fish and chips- portion size was generous and they have their own unique housemade batter which makes it super crunchy and delicious. Sweet potato fries were crispy and served with siracha mayo. Fish Tacos- Three white fish tacos with guacamole, diced tomatoes and cilantro served with a wedge of lime. The fish was not battered but pan fried,very light and fresh. Could've used a pico de gallo but they were still pretty good. Kale salad was fresh with craisins, poppyseed dressing with fried onions on top. Overall our meal experience was great, the prices were decent and the waitress was friendly. Patio faced the lock in Lake Buckhorn and made for a nice view and relaxing atmosphere. read more

Never been treating so horrible in my life. When we arrived we were told there was only a spot in the sun, which was fine as we would switch once something opened up (as the place wasn't very busy for Canada day, probably because of the heartless staff). As we sat there with my 6 year old son tables opened up all around us, when we asked to be moved we were confronted with rudeness and lies ( I say lies because they said the table of 4 was for a party of 9, they ended up seating 3 people there). Waitresses would ask the hostess/manager if we can switch after tables were opening around us, but didn't have the decency to come talk to us or look us in the eye for that matter. We ended up moving my son under a tree 10ft away from us to the horror of everyone around us watching. What a heartless person we had to deal with on Canada day. We come from a big tight knit community on Chemong lake, we all will never return to this place. One more thing, the food was crappy and very over priced. read more
